Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the competence of communication science students on their choice of concentration in the physical communication science study program at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The research method used in this study is a descriptive and associative research method with a survey approach. This study uses a questionnaire as a tool to collect primary data. The population as well as the sample in this study were students of the Communication Studies Program at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The statistical analysis used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 20. The results of this study indicate that the competency variables simultaneously (together) and partially (alone) have no positive and significant effect on the decision to choose a concentration in the Communication Studies Study Program. This is evidenced by the results of the T test with a significance level above 0.05 and the results of the F test with a significance level above 0.05, as well as the results of the coefficient of determination test, which shows that the influence of competence on the decision to choose a concentration in the Communication Sciences Study Program at the State University of North Sumatra is only 64% and the rest is influenced by other variables at 46%. That means that the hypothesis in this study was rejected.

Abstract

This research purpose to know the Virtual Communication Patterns of the game Mobile Legends in the University of Communication Studies of UINSU. The research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with a virtual ethnographic approach. Data collection using interviews to 5 sources and library studies. The results of the research showed that the virtual communication pattern of the Mobile Legends game uses Whatssapp media and game conversation media to invite UINSU Communication Sciences students to play, discuss, and give commands and instructions while the game is taking place using Mobile Legend conversation media using everyday, gaul and informal language as well as using stickers or emoticons available on both media. But few use direct or face-to-face communication. Reactions or feedback obtained such as expressing anger when losing in a game and using words unpolite, happy or happy at the time of winning the game, each player can give instructions and orders at the moment of the game subsug so that they follow the instructions in order to win the game. The communication pattern they use is a network of all channels, because anyone can communicate with others in the game.

Abstract

Decision making is a definite step taken in looking for something solutions to problems that occur. In the family the decisions are usually taken over by men. However, at this time the decision was not only for men, but also for women also participate in decision making in the family. Research has a purpose to analyze gender representation in family decision making. This research uses a case study in Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra. Method the research used is a qualitative method. Collection of data sources is done using interview techniques directly to 10 respondents. Research result raises new conclusions where the female gender does not have a deep gap take decisions or policies in the family that are carried out jointly between husband and wife on domestic roles and public roles in society. In this case women share in the problems that exist in the family. With each other support and cooperation between husband and wife. So there is no difference between female and male.

Abstract

This study focuses on the persuasive communication of the Perlave village government of South Labuhan Batu district, which is committed to early marriage in the local community. The research method used was a qualitative survey, collecting data through interviews with village officials and informants from the community who experienced early marriage. As a result, it was found that the main causes of early marriage in Perlavian villages were promiscuity and personal will. In addition, the Perrabian village government has implemented persuasive communication to overcome early marriage by raising awareness about the dangers of early marriage. These efforts were made to raise public awareness of the ill effects of early marriage and to encourage smarter decisions about marriage. This study provides an overview of the persuasive communication strategies used by the village government to combat early marriage in Perlav village. The results of this study are expected to provide a basis for village governments and related agencies to develop programs to more effectively address early marriage issues in the region.

Abstract

Character education is an educational effort that aims to improve the quality of educational processes and outcomes that lead to the formation of students' character and noble morals as a whole, integrated and balanced following graduation competency standards in each educational unit. Based on the decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 719/P/2020 concerning Guidelines for implementing curriculum in educational units in special conditions, it provides flexibility for schools to choose a curriculum that suits students' learning needs. In this way, Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan, apart from using the independent curriculum as the national curriculum, also uses the Islamic-based curriculum as a companion curriculum according to the needs of students. This research was conducted to analyze the background of the Islamic Based Curriculum at Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan; To analyze the role of the Islamic Based Curriculum in cultivating religious character at Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan; To analyze the implementation of the Islamic Based Curriculum at Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan; To analyze the evaluation of the Islamic Based Curriculum at Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method with a descriptive/analytic type. The results of this research show that the implementation of the Islamic Curriculum at Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan is effective in instilling religious character, developing academic potential, and forming students with noble character and strong faith.AbstrakPendidikan karakter adalah upaya pendidikan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan mutu proses dan hasil pendidikan yang mengarah pada pembentukan karakter dan akhlak mulia peserta didik secara utuh, terpadu dan seimbang sesuai dengan standar kompetensi kelulusan pada setiap satuan pendidikan. Berdasarkan keputusan menteri Pendidikan dan kebudayaan Republik Indonesia Nomor 719/P/2020 tentang Pedoman pelaksanaan kurikulum pada satuan pendidikan dalam kondisi khusus memberikan fleksibilitas bagi sekolah untuk memilih kurikulum yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran peserta didik. Dengan begitu Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan di samping menggunakan kurikulum merdeka sebagai kurikulum nasional juga menggunakan Islamic Based Curriculum sebagai kurikulum pendamping sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan unuk menganalisis latar belakang Islamic Based Curriculum di Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan; Untuk menganalisis peranan Islamic Based Curriculum dalam penanaman karakter religius di Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan; Untuk menganalisis penerapan Islamic Based Curriculum di Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan; Untuk menganalisis evaluasi Islamic Based Curriculum di Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif/analitik. Hasil penelitian ini adalah penerapan Islamic Based Curriculum di Al-Ikram Islamic School Medan efektif dalam menanamkan karakter religius, mengembangkan potensi akademik dan membentuk peserta didik yang berakhlak mulia dan beriman kuat.Kata Kunci: karakter; kurikulum berbasis Islam; religius

Abstract

This research aims to develop Historical Map media to improve students' chronological thinking skills. This research uses an R&D method which consists of four stages, namely. The research subjects consisted offrom 6 experts, 2 teachers, and 150 class students XI provided an assessment related to the media being developed. The collected data was analyzed through validity, reliability, T test and N-Gain tests. The research results show that the Historical Map media obtained a validation score of 3.65. Meanwhile, the practicality score for the Historical Map media obtained a score of 4.01, which indicates that the media developed can be easily implemented in history learning. The T test obtained a score of 0.000, which shows that there is an influence of using Historical Map media on students' chronological thinking skills. The results of the N-Gain Test indicate that the influence of using Historical Map media on students' chronological thinking skills increased by around 69%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the development of Historical Map media to improve students' chronological thinking skills has proven to be valid, reliable, practical and effective.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the Strategies of the Cahaya Inspiration Reading House in cultivating reading among coastal children. describes what obstacles are faced in cultivating reading in coastal children's grief and describes the solutions taken to overcome the obstacles encountered in increasing a reading culture. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research location is the Light of Inspiration reading house (RUBACI) which is in the village of Bandar Sono, Nibung Hankus sub-district, Batubara district. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research is data reduction, data display and data retrieval. Data validity tester. The results of this study concluded that the light inspiring reading house is making maximum efforts to improve the reading culture among children even though there are still many obstacles to be faced, but the management of the light inspiration reading house has made several solutions to overcome the obstacles it faces. Suggestions for the manager of the light-inspired reading house include managers who are expected to be more active in managing the reading house and need to improve and add several facilities such as bookshelves.
