Abstract

This research aims to obtain a valid, practical, and effective instructional design of circle material for grade VIII of SMP-TQ Muadz Bin Jabal Kendari. Instructional design has developed based on Isman model (2011). To develop a design, learning devices and instruments were developed. The prototype were validated and the test showed by the average of validity value. The practicality was shown by the average percentage of achievement from the observation of teacher activity. The analysis result of the effectiveness of the design is measured based on the average of achievement from the observation of student activity, the average of circle reasoning ability and the average of the percentage of achievement of student responses questionnaire. Based on the finding, it can be concluded that the instructional design of circle material with Isman model for grade VIII of SMP-TQ Muadz Bin Jabal Kendari were valid, practice, and effective.

Abstract

This was a quasi-experimental study aimed at examining whether there was a difference in effectiveness between problem-based learning using a scientific approach and problem-based learning using a problem-solving approach in learning in class IX at SMP Negeri 3 Pangsid. The population was all class IX students in SMP Negeri 3 Pangsid and the sample consisted of two classes, namely class IX.1 and class IX.2 as the experimental classes. The data collection consisted of learning achievement, activity, and response of students. The results showed that students? Mathematics learning achievement in the first-class experiment was in high category with the mean score of 84.38; students? activity was in a good category, and student?s response on learning was positive. The conclusion was the problem-based learning using a scientific approach was fairly effective. The students? Mathematics learning achievement in the second experiment class was in high category with the mean score of 79.58, students? activity was in a good category, and students? response to learning was positive. The conclusion was the problem-based learning using a problem-solving approach was fairly effective. The result of the hypothesis test at significance level ? = 0.05 with the t-test showed that there were significant differences in the effectiveness, in terms of learning outcomes between students who were taught problem-based learning using a scientific approach and the ones who were taught using a problem-solving approach.

Abstract

Learning outcomes assessment integrated with information technology is an investment conditioning an honesty to students and increasing the credibility of the National Examination’s results. On the other hand, there must be a harmony in the assessment of learning outcomes with computer-based tests from an early age on students in school education units. Therefore, teachers are required to have the knowledge and ability to compile computer-based tests, as part of the pedagogical competency standards of teachers. The main objective of this science and technology program is to improve the knowledge and skills of teachers as well as to provide maximum service for students in the evaluation of learning at SMP Negeri 1 Baula. This activity wass in the form of training in the preparation of multiple-choice questions and stuffing using the Wondershare Quiz Creator. The steps for this interactive question preparation training activity consisted of preliminary analysis, preparation, implementation and evaluation of the training. With this training, teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Baula had the basic knowledge and skills in making interactive questions using the wondershare quiz creator. This condition was known through the results of observing activities where participants have been able to make computer-based questions. In addition, using wondershare quiz creator as an evaluation tool in learning is good.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Edmodo-based online learning in improving the understanding of class XI students of SMA Negeri 8 Kendari on derivative functions during the covid-19 period. The population in this study were all students of Class XI SMA Negeri 8 Kendari. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, namely students of class XIB. The research instrument used in this study was a student's concept understanding test. The study uses data analysis techniques, namely descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The results showed that (1) the average ability of students to understand concepts in the derivative function material has increased. The average ability to understand concepts at the time of the pretest was in the poor category (42.38) increased in the posttest to the medium category (72.85), (2) Edmodo-based online learning was effectively used in improving students' understanding of function derivative materials during the covid-19.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine students' interest in learning and mathematical resilience in online learning and their impact on understanding concepts. The research used in this study is Ex-post facto, namely research with a quantitative approach that aims to test or explain the relationship between variables through hypothesis testing. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 8 Kendari class XI students in the 2020/2021 academic year. The research sample was 24 students of Class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 8 Kendari. Sampling using purposive sampling technique based on students' readiness to participate in online learning without network constraints. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and tests. Questionnaires were used to obtain information about mathematical interest and resilience. In contrast, the test is used to obtain data about the ability to understand concepts. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive analysis technique and inferential analysis, which was carried out with the help of the SPSS 22 computer program. The results showed that students' interest in online learning had a significant influence on concept understanding. Likewise, students' mathematical resilience in online learning has a significant influence on conceptual understanding. The analysis results also show a significant effect of interest and resilience together on understanding mathematical concepts. The percentage contribution of the influence of interest and resilience variables on understanding mathematical concepts is 77.8%, while other variables influence the rest.

Abstract

This research is using descriptive qualitative methods through an online survey. The study was conducted to find an overview of the application of online learning in the Mathematics Education Study Program of the Universitas Sembilanbelas November Kolaka during the Covid-19 emergency. Data collected through questionnaires in the form of Google Forms and interviews by telephone. Data analysis was performed using the Miles & Huberman interactive technique. The results showed that online learning received positive and negative responses from students. Positive responses were obtained from some aspects including the availability of supporting devices, delivery of material, interaction, ease of lecture, time management, class organizing, activeness, independence, and support. Aspects that received negative responses from respondents were assignments, job descriptions and workloads, mastery of the subject materials, internet connection, internet costs, and distraction.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe students' learning style preferences in the mathematics education study program based on class and gender. This research is a type of quantitative research with a descriptive design that describes the percentage of learning style trends in mathematics education students based on class and gender and then draws conclusions on the percentage of learning style preference. The sample of this research was 44 students of the Mathematics Education study program at USN Kolaka. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire containing 16 questions related to VARK learning styles (Visual, Auditorial, Read/Write, Kinesthetic). The VARK questionnaire instrument used is a standard questionnaire adapted from The VARK Questionnaire Version 7.1. The results showed that students’ learning styles had a multimodal preference(23% bimodal, 27% trimodal, 18% quadmodal).When viewed from class, class A and class B also have a multimodal preference where ARK is the most dominant preference for class A while class B's most dominant preferences are AK and VARK. In terms of gender, women had a multimodal preference (7% bimodal, 33% trimodal and 13% quadmodal) and men had a multimodal preference (31% bimodal, 24% trimodal and 21% quadmodal).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student interest in gamification-assisted learning in terms of student learning styles. This research is a type of descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The subjects are students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, USN Kolaka, a research course program with 20 students. The data collection technique used in this research is to use a questionnaire. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire of learning styles and interest in learning in gamification-assisted learning. According to Miles and Huberman, the data analysis technique used in this study is a qualitative data analysis technique, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed (1) the average student interest in gamification-assisted learning with word walls was in the high category, (2) student learning styles in research subjects mostly tended to be multimodal (60%), and (3) students with unimodal learning styles have high interest, bimodal, and trimodal learning styles have a very high interest in learning with gamification-assisted learning.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain e-LKPD using a valid, practical, and effective live worksheet on derived material. This type of development research aims to produce a product in the form of e-LKPD. The development of live worksheet-based e-LKPD is carried out through ADDIE design development steps consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The test subjects in this study were Class XI students at SMA Negeri 8 Kendari in 2021. The data collection instruments in this study consisted of a validation sheet used to determine the validity of the e-LKPD, a response questionnaire on the use of e-LKPD was used to obtain information on the practicality of e-LKPD, and learning outcomes tests to determine the effectiveness of e-LKPD. The results showed that (1) the validation results with an average score of 4.04 which means that the live worksheet-based e-LKPD is in very valid criteria and is feasible to use (2) The results of the analysis of student responses to the use of e-LKPD show that the average The student's class response is 80.3 which means the class response is positive and is included in the practical category. (3) There is a difference between the pre-test and post-test values, which means that there is an effect of using e-LKPD on learning outcomes. Thus the live worksheet-based e-LKPD is valid, practical, and effective.
