Abstract

Reading comprehension is a substantial skill in elementary school. If childrenhave the skill to read, facing other lesson would be easy. This study employs aquantitative descriptive method that aims at explaining numbers in words. Theresult showed that the average of students' reading skill after being exposed tographic organizer-based reading comprehension teaching materials indetermining the basic thoughts was of 63.75, and students' skill in explaininginformation was 71.04. At this stage, their skill was considered good enough, sothat an improvement to design teaching materials and trainings should befacilitated for the teachers.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate effect of quantum teaching learning model toenhance students’ conceptual understanding on characteristic material concept.This study method was experiment with quasy experiment. Subject this researchwas fifth grade elementary school. Result of this study found significant score0,000 < 0,05. It is mean that hypothesis of research was accepted. It can beconcluded Quantum Teaching learning model can improve students’ conceptualunderstanding.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is mainly to describe the performance of primary school teachersin the unit of education technical implementation in Banyumanik, Semarang. This researchwas conducted in January- August 2017. The sample of this research is 162 primaryschool teachers selected by random sampling technique in order to get the same opportunityas sample. The instruments used in this study were the assessment sheets, the RatingSheet consisted of 64 items of question, and 3 indicators of Primary School TeacherPerformance. The results show that each of Implementation of lesson plans is categorizedvery well (90, 9%), the execution of the learning is 83.4%, assessment of learning is good(82.8%). The Overall performance of primary school teachers is categorized good( 85 , 7 % ). In other words, the primary school teachers of the unit of education technicalimplementation in Banyumanik Semarang can arrange the lesson plans, carry out learningand teaching process and assess the learning process in elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to implementation jarimatika method to promote students’mathematics leraning outcome for elementary school. This study was conductedin class third elementary schools. Design of this research was classroom actionresearch. Based on the results of mathematics learning students obtained data onthe initial score taken from the scores of the first semester Mathematics examstudents before the application of the Jarimatikaini method was 59.62 then thecycle I daily test increased by 13.63 to 73.42 with an increase percentage of22.80%. It can be concluded that the application of the Jarimatika method canimprove the results of third grade elementary school mathematics learning.

Abstract

The literacy skills of elementary school students in Indonesia, according tointernational instructional survey data such as PISA and PIRLS are generally atlow ability level. Starting from this condition, the government then launched theSchool Literacy Program (SLP) which is in sync with the implementation ofCurriculum 2013. This study aims to analyze and calculate the difference ofliteracy ability and students’ fourth graders critical thinking in schools thatorganize SLP in three areas of the village, transitions, and cities located inSukabumi Indonesia. The results showed that the students' fourth-grade literacyability at the SLP organizing school was at a low level of 66.89, the middle level55, the high level 54.67, and the advanced level of 55.89. The students' criticalthinking ability is at a low level of 82.94, 55.33 and 55.67. Based on the resultsof this study, it can be concluded that fourth graders students’ literacy ability atschool organizer SLP in Sukabumi is at low level / factual literal. While fourthgraders students’ critical thinking was able to reach low levels.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the prospective teachers activities to enhanceteachers’ teaching skills utilized inquiry by perform reflective collaborativeactivities between teachers, coaches and prospective teachers. Activitiesreflection helps prospective teachers make improvements in the implementationof tasks so that for further learning meetings prospective teachers can improveteaching skills. Improved teaching ability to give impact on teacher activities andstudents who experience improvement at each meeting so that it has aninfluence on student learning outcomes. In understanding the concept ofstudents' average heat energy increased from the average base score of 64.91 to76.22. In understanding the concept of average student sound energy from thebasic score to 81.72. The increase of learning result can be seen from theaverage of N-Gain on the understanding of the concept of heat energy of 0.32medium categories and on the understanding of energy concept of 0.47 mediumcategories. This study concluded that the application of inquiry learning modelcan improve science learning outcomes based on reflection by prospectiveteachers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of visual thinking learning to problemsolving skill. Quasi experiments with the design of this non-equivalent controlgroup involved Grade V students in one of the Elementary Schools. The design ofthis study was quasi experimental nonequivalent control group, the researchbullet used the existing class. The results of research are: 1) improvement ofproblem soving skill. The learning did not differ significantly between studentswho received conventional learning. 2) there is no interaction between learning(visual thinking and traditional) with students' mathematical skill (upper, middleand lower) on the improvement of skill. 3) there is a difference in the skill oflanguage learning that is being constructed with visual learning of thought interms of student skill (top, middle and bottom).

Abstract

This survey research aimed at determining the ecological intelligence level ofstudents. It involved 120 fourth grade students of elementary school. Thefindings revealed that the students‟ intelligence level, with an average score of77.48, was classified in „high‟ category. In addition, other aspects were alsoclassified into the „high‟ category with an average score on attitude aspect of78.19, skill aspect of 77.69, and participation aspect of 76.56. To conclude, theecological intelligence of the fourth grade elementary school students wasclassified in „high‟ category.

Abstract

This study aims to improve 3rd grade students’ science learning outcomes bylearning to use visual multimedia. This research method uses classroom actionresearch. The subject of this research was the third grade students of secondsemester of elementary school which conducted 30 students. Based on theresults of research by using visual media, it have been found that theimprovement learning outcome, seen from the initial average score before theaction of 3rd grade class students from 65.5 to 83.83. The results of this studyindicate that with the use of visual media can improve student learningoutcomes.
