Abstract

The current unresolved problems in education in Indonesia include the weak literacy skills and numeracy skills that occur in students. One way to measure literacy and numeracy skills is through assessment. One form of assessment is through the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) which is carried out in class. This study aims to analyze the correlation between AKM classes with logical thinking skills. The research method uses mixed methods. This research was conducted in 3 junior high schools in eighth grade with different geographic locations. There are 60 respondents in total. The data collection technique used by the researcher used a written test in the form of AKM class questions, and for secondary data was an interview. Quantitative data analysis was carried out through prerequisite tests such as validity, reliability, and discriminatory power, level of difficulty, normality test, homogeneity test, and one way ANOVA test. The results of the analysis of the AKM literacy and numeracy AKM scores show that students' reading skills and numeracy skills are categorized as being in the low category. This means that students are still at the level of knowing and understanding. For this reason, it is very important to increase students' reasoning at a higher level in order to realize the implementation of curriculum 2013.

Abstract

Evaluation of graduates’ employment of Courses and Vocational Training Institutions (LKP) is very important to conduct, as a step to obtain feedback on programs or policies that have been implemented by vocational LKP in Indonesia. However, the absorption data for vocational LKP graduates has not been properly recorded at the present. Therefore the aims of this study is to analyze achievement of performance targets at the Directorate of Courses and Training (Dit-Suslat), Ministry of Education and Culture. This study using the Goal-Oriented Evaluation of program evaluation model from Ralp W Tyler. The results of the analysis point out that the target percentage of courses and trainings graduates in one year who get a job or become an entrepreneur has not reached the set target. Most LKP graduates are absorbed in the trading sector, manufacturing industry, as well as health services & social activities. Future needed labor are massively from the sectors of healthcare, construction, manufacturing and retail. Clerical, routine and repetitive jobs start to be replaced by robots and intelligent machines. The implementation of vocational LKP must be transformed in carrying out link and match as a whole.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a shift in hybrid-based learning. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the push-pull mooring effect is able to increase student behavior transition to hybrid learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research population is all active students of the Faculty of Economics. The sample used was 146 respondents, with non-probability sampling technique. The data collection technique was an online questionnaire method with an interval scale of agree (scale 7) to disagree (scale 1). Data analysis technique was based on Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) using WarpPLS 5.0 program. The results showed that the push effect, pull effect, mooring effect, decision self efficacy and motivation and intention switching had an effect on switching behavior. While the push and pull effects have no effect on switching behavior through motivation and intention to switch and decision self-efficacy, in contrast to the mooring effect which has a significant effect. The findings of this study are that hybrid learning has not been able to improve student performance than offline learning, so the student behavior to switch to hybrid learning still needs to be improved.

Abstract

Students' learning engagement grows from students' awareness of the importance of participating in the learning process, this is shaped by learning motivation, self-regulation, support from the family environment as well as the school. This study analyze the relationship between self-regulated learning, family support and learning motivation to students' learning engagement. A total of 100 of 12 grade students at senior high school participated to fill out the questionnaire in this study. Structural equation modeling partial least square (SEM-PLS) is used as a tool to analyze the complex relationships of these variables. Reflective analysis of variables is used to statistically explore the relationships between variables. The P values between variables significantly indicate that there is a relationship between FS ->LM (0.006), LM->LE (0.000), SRL->LE (0.006), and SRL->LM (0.000). Based on the results of this study,: (1) parental and teacher support has an important role in shaping student learning motivation, (2) student self-regulated learning is formed by the student's learning environment and students' own awareness, and (3) learning engagement is influenced by SRL, family support and student internal motivation. It is hoped that the results of this study can help parents and teachers to create a conducive learning environment for students both at home and at school.

Abstract

Certification exams conducted online must be of the same quality as those conducted on-site. To achieve this, it is necessary to conduct a study in which assessors need to identify obstacles in implementing online certification examinations which have been implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study aims to analyze the perspective of the assessors to identify the barrier factors, understand the interrelation among them, and propose improvements to the online application process. The method applied was the MICMAC (Matrix of Cross-impact Multiplications Applied to Classification), a structural model, to analyze the variables based on their influence and dependence driving force. A case study was conducted on the Indonesia Hydraulic Engineer Association. The data was collected from a focus-group discussion with the assessors. The result revealed that the barrier factors consist of technical aspects, such as internet connection delay, hackers and viruses, and unverified e-document; and social aspects, such as questioning skills limitation, non-verbal communication skills limitation, and environment distraction. The study found that internet connection delay and questioning skill limitations are the barriers with the highest influence beyond other barriers in the online assessment process. Also, the questioning skills limitation factor has the highest dependency on other barriers. Hence, it can be proposed that the curricula of the assessors’ training and/or certification program, should be incorporated with the questioning skill in an online assessment environment.
