Abstract

Learning should be centered on the students centered this is in accordance with the demands of Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP). Learning in schools today is still conventional, which is teacher centered so that less reflects a meaningful learning for learners. Implementation of active learning model using flip chart media is expected to improve understanding of students' concept of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Bunga on organ system material. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) consisting of two cycles. Population in this research is all student of SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Bunga with sample is student of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Bunga. Improved understanding of learners' concepts can be measured using tests. The success of active learning model using flip chart media is seen through comparison between cycle I with cycle II. Based on the result of cycle I with cycle II, the percentage of concept improvement is 1.06%, the result can be obtained through division of the second cycle gain divided by the acquisition of cycle I (80.95%: 76.19%). From these results it can be concluded that by applying the learning model of active learning by using the medi flip chart can improve understanding of the concept of learners.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the implementation of the Curriculum 2013 interms of pedagogic competence of biology teachers in SMA Negeri Kecamatan Ilir Barat 1 Palembang. This was a survey study and the data were collected from principals, teachers of biology class XI, and grade XI students of the science program of senior high schools in Ilir Barat 1 Palembang District, that have implemented Curriculum 2013, in the academic year of 2014/2015. The research instruments were questionnaires, interviews, observation guides, and documentation. The data were analyzed by using the qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis are as follows. Biology teachers’ readiness level to implement Curriculum 2013 in terms of pedagogic competence in state senior high schools in Ilir Barat 1 PalembangDistrict is that one teacher is in a very prepared category with a percentage of 83% and three teachers are in the ready category each having a percentage of 81%, 71%, and 71% subsequently.

Abstract

Aloe vera is one species of Liliaceae that is able to grow in tropic area such as Indonesia. Aloe verahas potential as food, such as sweets. The slimy and soft texture of Aloe vera makes the problem of producing quality sweets products so it needs soaking with Ca(OH)2 solution.This study aims to determine the content of vitamin C and organoleptic in Aloe vera sweets with various concentrations of Ca(OH)2 solution. The research was conducted in March 2017 at Biology and ChemistryLaboratory,FTIKRaden Fatah State Islamic University. This research use experimental method, through experiment design used RAL one factor with concentration of Ca(OH)2 solution, consist of K1 = 1%, K2 = 2%, K3 = 3% and K4 = 4% (5 repetitions). Research method using titration and hedonic method. The highest vitamin C levels were found in the treatment with the concentration of Ca(OH)2 1% solution ie 323.84 mg / 100gr. Organoleptic test results obtained concentration of Ca(OH)2 4% solution preferably by panelist.

Abstract

Fenology including one of scientific that study about development phases such as flowering character or development of leaf. One of leaf’s development M.indica leaf has a very high diversity such as shape size even the color is often different according to its development as well as the buds that appear in the plan. The observation of buds’s growth period in the M.indica plan has ever done before, but the levels and the time is still not clear. This research aimed to know the buds’s time grows on various levels of M. indica so obtained the good appearance time and the level of M.indica species for further research material. The collecting data uses exploration method by exploring the area of sub-district Cibiru, district Bandung, West Java and an act of determine a level. The act of determine of the length and the diameter of each stand which is found at the three regions. The result of observation shows 7 of the 12 specimen that has been observed experiencing the growth of leaf buds. The average growth time of the buds in the specimen that experienced a growth is 13 days which dominate with pole, as for the existence of the variation of shape and bud color appearance enable to the existence of growth to the next phase from that buds.

Abstract

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L) isan agricultural crop that has high economic value, it gets priority to be developed. This research at was conducted Screen House of Balai Benih Induk Kentang (BBIK) Kayu Aro subdistrict Kerinci regency.The purpose of this research was to know the effect of planting media On Micro Cutting Growth Of Granola Potato Variety (Solanum Tuberosum L). This study was used Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 6 Treatment 10 Deuteronomy. The observed parameters were percentage of live micro cuttings potato, the high micro cuttings, number of shoots, numbr of leaves, and length of rootwere analyzed by the variance of investigation and followed by DNMRT advanced test at 5% level. The investigation result of the highest percentage (%)of micro cutting potato live was 90%. The High of micro cuttings, number of shoots and number of leaves of micro cuttings granola varieties was showed that no significant effect on the treatment given. Whereas for the root length of micro cuttings showed thatthere was a significantly different effect.

Abstract

The development of this practicum module is based on overcoming student difficulties in practicum implementation and final report making. Skills-based modules of the scientific process to practice the skills of the process of science are observing, grouping, interpreting, predicting, formulating hypotheses, planning experiments, and communicating. This module is expected to lead the students to be actively involved in carrying out practicum activities independently related to the concept of the material to be studied. The purpose of this research is to produce teaching material product in the form of practical genetic module based on the skill of science process that is feasible and practical used by students in genetic lecturing. The procedure of development in this research with the 4-D model proposed by Thiagarajan that is define (definition), design (design), develop (development), and disseminate (dissemination). Data collection instruments used in the form of interviews and assessment questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used qualitative analysis by calculating the average score of each component of the module assessment and calculating practicality data on the use of the practicum module. The science-based genetic module of the science process module is appropriate for use by professors of materials experts, media experts, and linguists. Second, module practicum based on science skill based on students' responses have practicality in practicum practice that is 76,05% module contents, 76,26% presentation, and 76,10% from the language.

Abstract

The purpose of research to determine that effect of problem-based learning (PBL) model on cognitive student achievement in SMP YPPGI Silo Manokwari in the relation of population density to the environment topic. The study was a quasi-experimental research used nonequivalent control group design. The sample of the study was the students of class VIIA such as experimental class and the total students as many as 23 students and the class VIIB such as the control class and the total students as many as 22 students. That result showed the experimental class to implementation PBL model obtained the average posttest 70,78, while the class control obtained the average posttest 50,05. The significant value was 0,01 < α = 0,05, there were different cognitive student achievement between the experiment class and the control class. Conclusion, there are differences in cognitive students achievement between students taught using PBL model with students taught using a conventional learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Differences of Cognitive Ability of Students Before and After Application of Guided Inquiry Learning Model on Environmental Change Material and Waste Recycling Class X in SMA 'Aisyiyah 1 Palembang. The research method used in this research is weak experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study consists of one class of 38 students. Sampling in this research using saturated sample technique because the entire population is sampled. Technique of collecting data is done with test question and observation sheet. Based on the results of data using t test at the real level of 5% tcount = 7,607 and ttable = 2.026, then tcount> ttable. This can be seen from the cognitive test of students showed sig thitung 0.000 <0,05, then Ha accepted and H0 rejected. The result of the analysis of the average increase of the students 'cognitive achievement on the pretest reaches 69.34 while the cognitive students in the posttest reach 83.82 means students' cognitive ability is higher after the application of guided inquiry learning model. Then it can be deduced that there is a Difference of Cognitive Ability of Students Before and After Application of Guided Inquiry Learning Model.

Abstract

The rhizosphere is the zone of soil surrounding a plant root where plant roots, soil and the soil biota interact with each other. Chitinolytic fungi has been effectively used in biological control agens. The chitinase activity causes lysis of the fungi cell wall pathogen. The aim of the research was to find optimization of activity chitinase enzyme from rhizosphere soil was conducted in vitro. Optimal growth chitinase production for TKR3 fungi isolate were concentration of chitin 0,2% (b/v), pH 5,5, temperature 30ºC, agitation 150 rpm and incubation time at four days. The optimum yield of chitinase production is influenced by fungal species and environmental conditions.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the problems that occurred, among others: LKS owned by students so far have not been able to train students to learn independently and low mastery of students on metabolic material. The purpose of this development research is to find out the development process and find out the results of the development of Multiple Intelligence Based Student Worksheets on the material of high school students' enzymes. This study uses the 4D development model by Thiagarajan et al. which includes 4 stages: Define, design, design and Disseminate. Testing of Multiple Intelligence-Based LKS products, there are several aspects including media assessment, assessment of material and readability tests. Multiple Intelligence-based worksheet validation results have been obtained by media expert validators with a percentage of 96.43%, by the material expert validator with a percentage of 84.21% and the students' readability trial results obtained a percentage of 65.33%. Based on the data that has been obtained for testing this Multiple Intelligence-Based LKS product, it is expected that in the future it can be tested on a large scale in the classroom for further development. Further development, can be done with classroom action training (PTK) or Experimental research.
