Abstract

This study aims to identify how the implementation of classroom management in thematic learning on the basis of google classroom. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a online method. This research was conducted in odd semester of fifth grade students at Al-Ulum Elementary School Medan. Sources of data in this study were teachers, thematic learning materials and lesson plans. Data collection techniques were by using observation, documentation and interviews. While the results of this study was thematic learning using the use of the google classroom application has proven to be very effective for teachers and students of fifth grade elementary school in a virtual system. Thematic learning by using the google classroom application was don by dividing into subjects.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum requires learners to be able to think of high levels or HOTS that suit the needs of competence in the 21st century. Based on the results of the study stated if, the ranking of learners in Indonesia is still relatively low because learners are still weak in solving problems that require reasoning and analysis. So it can be concluded that the purpose of this research is to develop HOTS-based SPLSV problems in SMP / MTs that are valid, practical, and effective. This research is a research development (research and development). The test subjects in this study were class VII students at MTS I Attanwir, with a population of 40 students, and to focus the data, selected 3 students who represented from high, medium, and low abilities. The analysis used in this study is a test of validity by expert material, validity of the problem, differentiating power, difficulty level, rehabilitation test, and t-test testing. The results of the study suggest that a set of SPLSV problem instruments can be used to train high-level thinking skills in learners.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the cognitive aspects that must be introduced to children at an early age to achieve a standard of cognitive development called the Child Development Achievement Level Standard (STPPA) as stated in the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 137 of 2014. One of the basic learning Mathematics is a child recognizes the concept of numbers and understands numbers. So that children's understanding is in accordance with the concept, children must learn mathematics from concrete objects and by playing. the introduction of values ​​and numbers in children aged 2-8 years children need concrete objects, because at this age, children recognize concepts using symbols. This study aims to find a strategy for learning mathematics to recognize values ​​and numbers through play and concrete objects in early childhood. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with literature study method. As for the results of the research, the strategies that can be used in introducing children to numbers through play and concrete objects are: (1) Singing; (2) Flannel Board Media; (3) Calendar Games; (4) Number Card; (5) Counting Things in Daily Life; (6) Dice; (7) Write Numbers (8) Number Fishing Media; (9) Snakes and Ladders Game; (10); Congklak Game; (11) Finger Method.

Abstract

Education plays a role in character building. This study aims to determine, analyze, and describe the implementation of the Islamic Studies program, character values, and the implications of the Islamic Studies program on student character building. This research is a qualitative research with case study method. Data collection used: observation, interviews, documentation studies, and questionnaires. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that: 1) in limited face-to-face learning, the implementation of the Islamic Studies program went well, 2) the character values ​​in the Islamic Studies program included: religious, hard work, responsibility, fond of reading, disciplined, independent, love peaceful, appreciative of achievement, and communicative, 3) the implementation of the Islamic Studies program has significant implications for the character building of students with 84% of students responding correctly and 16% of students answering incorrectly. The Islamic Studies program is recommended for other schools as an effort to build character.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the process of implementation of Limited Face-to-Face Learning (PTM) during the Covid-19 Pandemic and the obstacles faced and efforts made in the smooth implementation of limited face-to-face learning at SMA N 1 Kubu, Riau, Indonesia. The research method used is a descriptive-qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation and interview activities that do not provide treatment, manipulation or changes in the variables studied. The results of this study showed that the application of limited face-to-face learning still follows the standards of health protocols, during learning has carried out 3M, namely wearing a mask before entering the classroom, washing hands using soap and running water and entering the classroom regularly and maintaining distance. Also implement learning strategies that include practice, discussion, reflection and feedback so as to make learning work effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the inquiry ability of junior high school students during science learning using the E-LKPD media. The instrument was E-LKPD media integration of inquiry abilities. Data collection technique in this study uses result of instrument with data analysis technique used is N-Gain test. The results obtained showed the average ability of inquiry at the first meeting was 58.25 to the second meeting with a score of 65.03 then to the third meeting was 76.86. Inquiry ability of each individual also increased, in the first N-gain test students was 71.88% of low criteria, 21.88% of medium criteria, and 6.25% of high criteria. Meanwhile, in the second N-gain test, it was obtained that 53.13% of students had low improvement, 31.25% of students had moderate improvement, and 15.63% of students had high improvement. So it can be concluded that the average inquiry ability of students has increased at each meeting during the learning process by using the E-LKPD media.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low motivation to learn in mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a change in students' learning motivation after the application of the Course Review Horay learning model. This study used a pre-experimental approach, which the samples were students of class III MIN 8 West Aceh, totaling 37 students of class III-A. The instruments used are questionnaires, observation guidelines and documentation. Data was collected using a closed questionnaire. While the data analysis was carried out by comparative descriptive analysis with SPSS. The results obtained before the application of the Course Review Horay learning model there were 21 students with low motivation, 13 students with moderate motivation and 3 students with high motivation with an average score of 36.34. After the application of the Course Review Horay learning model, there were no students with low motivation, 3 students with moderate motivation and 34 students with high motivation with an average score of 68.8. It can be concluded that there is a change in learning motivation after the application of the Course Review Horay learning model

Abstract

This report discusses the extent of compliance of a higher education institution in Isabela, Philippines with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. An internal audit for clauses 4 to 9.1 of the QMS was conducted to determine the extent of QMS implementation and to identify areas of conformities, opportunities for improvement, and nonconformities. Out of the 215 findings, 177 are conformities (Cs); 25 are nonconformities (NCs); while 13 are opportunities for improvement (OFIs). The strengths of the organization include its understanding of its context, leadership of the top management, existence of planned actions to address risks and availability of almost all significant documents that support compliance and/or sustain the quality operations. Areas that need to be improved and complied include inadequate manpower for quality activities, unmet targets, and lack of control for externally provided products and services. Actions to address these findings are provided. Thus, the organization is highly recommended to carry out the corrective actions as soon as possible for continual improvement.

Abstract

This study investigated the impacts of attention span and parental engagement on students’ academic achievement in Computer Studies. It also determined the moderating influence of parental engagement on the impact of attention span on learners’ academic achievement. A descriptive research design was adopted. The study population comprised all the SS 2 students offering Computer Studies in public senior secondary schools in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State. Two hundred students were selected randomly from ten randomly selected schools. Attention Span Rating Scale (r=0.78) and Students’ Perceived Parental Engagement Questionnaire (r=0.82), and Computer Studies Achievement Test (r=0.62), were used for data collection. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages and multiple regression at a 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed significant impacts of attention span, F(1, 198)= 101.207, p<0.05, and parental engagement, F(1, 198)= 12.346, p<0.05 on students’ academic achievement in Computer Studies. The study also established the joint impact of attention span and parental engagement impacted students’ academic achievement, F(2, 197)= 59.168 p<0.05, but no significant moderating influence of parental engagement on the impact of attention span on students’ academic achievement t(196) = 0.301, p>0.05. It is recommended that teachers adopt active learning strategies for their students. Parents should dissuade their children from the extensive use of mobile technologies, which could dwindle their attention span.

Abstract

This research discusses the quality of the higher education implementation of online learning in the last two years. The data were obtained from students who filled out open-ended electronic questionnaires. The data were then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively using Critical Success Factors (CSFs). However, this research highlights what other scholars have never found. First, the most prominent obstacles are lecturers' low digital literacy and the high level of distractors in the students’ physical environment. Second, students have distinctive commitments and preferences while participating in online learning. This research expounds that instead of gaining meaningful learning experiences, students prioritize filling out attendance lists and assignments submission. This research concludes that students’ commitments and preferences are not only linked to the experienced issues but also influenced by the lecturers' competence. Those who force themselves to study in ineffective learning are highly at risk of learning loss.
