Abstract

PT. Java Suisan Indah is an agribusiness company engaged in eel farming where the products are purposed to export market.  The company is still facing difficulties in fulfilling the quality stock of eel raw materials, due to high mortality in the cultivation stage and availability of eel seeds as well. The goals  of this study are (i) to identifies internal and external factors that influence the business development system of PT. JSI and, (ii) to formulating the alternative strategies in order to prioritize business development that can be applied at PT. JSI. The sampling method  uses a purposive sampling technique where respondents act as expert adjustments. The results of this study are concluded; (i) PT JSI must maintain prices and improve the quality of eel processed products by prioritizing distinctive flavors accompanied by diverse product variants to increase international consumer loyalty to PT JSI's products. This strategy based on QSPM analysis obtained a STAS value of 6.862 ; (ii) intensifying and promoting processed eel products through social media for the domestic market to expand sales and be widely known to the public. This strategy based on QSPM analysis obtained a STAS value of 6.514. And (iii) applied a plasma core-core partnership model between PT JSI as the core and eel farmers as plasma. This partnership process is carried out to meet and increase the need for a stock of raw materials to produce eel forceps. This strategy based on QSPM analysis obtained a STAS value of 6.426.

Abstract

Golden snail (Pomacea canaliculata L.) is one of the main pests that attack young paddy plants. Golden snail pest attack on paddy plants has the potential to reduce yields and even crop failure. Kipahit plants (T. diversifolia) have the potential as bio molluscides because they contain toxic compounds against golden snails. The purpose of this research was to study the effect of bio molluscicide concentration of kipahit leaf extract (T.diversifolia) on mortality of golden snails at two phases of age and damage intensity of paddy  plants. The. The research was conducted in December 2017 until May 2018. The research was carried out in Lampeji Village, Mumbulsari District, Jember Regency. The researh used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 concentrations of kipahit leaf extract, tested on 2 different age phases of golden snail and 3 times repeated. The variables observed were golden snail mortality, crop damage intensity (DI), Lethal Concentration 50 (LC50) and Lethal Time 50 (LT50). The data obtained were then analyzed by probit analysis and Duncan test with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed that the concentration of 60 g/L was the most efficient and effective concentration in controlling golden snails at various age phases as well as suppressing the intensity of damage to paddy plants. Keywords: golden snail, kipahit leaves (T. diversifolia), molluscicide, mortality

Abstract

Sistem agribisnis yang terdiri dari beberapa subsektor dimana setiap subsektor memiliki peran dalam kegiatan agribisnis kopi arabika. Perbaikan dan peningkatan sistem agribisnis kopi arabika merupakan hal yang penting bagi pelaku agribisnis kopi arabika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sistem agribisnis kopi arabika. Metode penentuan daerah penelitian ini dilakukan secara sengaja (purposive method). Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dan analitik. Alat analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis pendapatan, analisis nilai tambah metode hayami, dan analisis TOWS. Subsektor sarana input produksi terdiri dari penyediaan bibit unggul, pupuk, alat-alat usahatani, tenaga kerja dan modal. Subsektor usahatani memiliki pendapatan sebesar Rp 9.619.907,01 per Hektar dan nilai efisiensi sebesar 1,32. Subsektor pengolahan kopi gelondong merah menjadi kopi green bean memiliki nilai tambah sebesar Rp. 12.524,44/ kg, dan proses pengolahan kopi green bean menjadi kopi bubuk sebesar Rp 83.404,44/kg. Subsektor pemasaran yang efisien meliputi petani menjual kopi kepada UPH dan UPH menjual ke konsumen. Subsektor sarana penunjang meliputi Pemda Bondowoso, Bank Indonesia, Puslit, Bank Jatim, dan Perhutani. Strategi pengembangan di Desa Sukorejo adalah memanfaatkan bantuan dan pembinaan pemerintah dan stakeholder untuk memastikan dan menjaga penerapan MoU kluster kopi arabika dan pengolahan produk kopi arabika untuk menjaga dan meningkatkan kualitas harga kopi arabika.Kata kunci: sistem agribisnis, kopi arabika, pendapatan, nilai tambah, analisis TOWS

Abstract

Rendahnya keragaman genetik dan produktivitas tanaman sorgum menjadi permasalahan dalam pengembangan tanaman sorgum. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan pendekatan bioteknologi terutama untuk mendapatkan tanaman transgenik. Pendekatan bioteknologi didukung oleh bahan tanam yang baik dengan menggunakan teknik kultur jaringan untuk mendapatkan kalus tanaman sorgum. Perbanyakan kalus dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kultur jaringan dengan menambahkan konsentrasi zat pengatur tumbuh 2,4-D. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jember. Penelitian ini disusun dengan menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan faktor tunggal yaitu pemberian 2,4-D berbagai konsentrasi antara lain A0 (kontrol), A1 2 ppm, A2 3 ppm, A3 4 ppm, A4 5 ppm, dan A5 6 ppm dimana setiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Variabel pengamatan yang dilakukan secara kuantitatif yaitu perhitungan kedinian kemunculan kalus, jumlah kalus, dan berat kalus. Variabel pengamatan secara kualitatif yaitu menentukan warna kalus dan tekstur kalus yang diamati secara visual. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan berbeda sangat nyata pada setiap pengamatan kuantitatif dan menunjukkan hasil terbaik pada pengamatan kualitatif. Perlakuan 2 ppm 2,4-D menunjukkan hasil terbaik dibandingkan perlakuan 2,4-D yang lain yaitu mampu menginduksi kalus tanaman sorgum cenderung lebih cepat yaitu 7,6 HST, presentase jumlah kalus 90%, berat kalus 0,6 gram serta kalus berwarna putih kekuningan (5Y 8/6) dan kalus bersifat friable (remah).

Abstract

Pemangkasan pucuk merupakan upaya penyeimbangan pertumbuhan vegetatif dan generatif pada tanaman Indeterminate seperti tanaman mentimun. Penyeimbangan pertumbuhan tanaman berperan dalam efisiensi aliran fotosintat tanaman. Usaha perbaikan kualitas produksi benih mentimun dilakukan dengan melakukan efisiensi aliran fotosintat dan peningkatan unsur hara esensial yang terlibat dalam proses pengisian biji. Unsur hara kalium memiliki peranan yang penting dalam proses pengisian biji tanaman mentimun. Percobaan ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemangkasan pucuk dan dosis pupuk kalium terhadap produksi dan kualitas benih mentimun. Percobaan dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial terdiri dari 12 kombinasi perlakuan pemangkasan pucuk dan dosis pupuk kalium dengan 3 ulangan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi perlakuan pemangkasan pucuk dan dosis pupuk kalium berpengaruh terhadap produksi dan kualitas benih mentimun yaitu pada variabel jumlah biji, presentase biji bernas dan berat buah. Pemangkasan pucuk ruas ke 12 dan dosis pupuk kalium 300 kg/ha mampu memberikan hasil terbaik. Kata kunci : Pemangkasan Pucuk, Kalium, Produksi dan Kualitas Benih.

Abstract

Soybean leaf blight (Pseudomonas syringae pv glycinea) is one of the important diseases that has the potential to cause production losses of around 11-20%. This study aims to determine the potential of Pseudomonas fluorescens bacteria that is applied through seed encapsulation methods to stimulate soybean plant growth and surpress the development of leaf blight disease. This research was conducted at the Agrotechnopark Jubung greenhouse, University of Jember using a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments namely control (P0), encapsulation of P.fluorescens bacteria with compost (P1) formulation, compost + kaolin (P2), compost + talc (P3), and compost + zeolite (P4). The results showed that seed encapsulation with P.fluorescens bacteria made from compost and inorganic carriers was able to reduce the severity of soybean blight disease by up to 40 HSI. Seed encapsulation with P.fluorescens compost + zeolite formulation can increase seed germination, plant height, and number of leaves. The use of talc carrier materials is able to maintain a bacterial population of 6.0 x 103 cfu / ml for up to 28 days of storage. Keywords:  formulation, leaf blight, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Pseudomonas syringae, seed encapsulation

Abstract

One group of rhizobacteria that has been widely studied as a biological controlling agent is Bacillus spp. Through the mechanism of induction of resistance and antibiosis, these bacteria are able to suppress the growth of plant pathogens. Its ability to quickly colonize plant roots and broad adaptability to the environment causes Bacillus to spread in nature, especially in the rhizosphere. This study aims to determine the presence of Bacillus in several rhizosphere weeds and their ability to inhibit plant pathogen growth in vitro. This study consisted of two stages, namely, (1) sampling activities carried out in the Kalisat area, Jember Regency, and (2) isolation, selection and identification. Based on the results of the study, 17 Bacillus spp. Isolates. which was successfully isolated from several rhizosphere weeds. The results of Bacillus spp. in vitro the inhibition was obtained by 73% in suppressing Fusarium sp. and 14 mm clear zone formed by Bacillus against X. oryzae pv. oryzae. 5 superior Bacillus isolates obtained from the antagonist test were identified as B. subtilis, B. licheniformis, B. alvei, and B. coagulans.Keyword: Bacillus spp., biological agents, weeds of rhizosphere

Abstract

The cultivation of carambola produced some waste that can be used as organic fertilizer. Organic fertilizer is useful to improve soil conditions and enrich the nutrient content contained therein so that it is easily absorbed by cultivated plants such as pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The optimum pakcoy production is supported by good land management in order to meet the availability of nutrients needed by the addition of inorganic fertilizers and starfruit organic fertilizer. The study was conducted at Attaqie Farm, Tuban in November 2018 to May 2019. The experimental design used was randomized completely block design with two factors carambla derivated organic fertilizer 10 tons ha-1 , 20 tons ha-1, 30 tons ha-1 and inorganic fertilizer  0 kg ha-1; 50 kg ha-1; 100 kg ha-1. The results showed that carambola derivated organic fertilizer contained N, P, K, S, Ca, and Mg about 6.19%,  0.94%, 75.04%,  0.02%,  20.13%, and 47.23%, respectively. The dosage of 50% inorganic fertilizer and 10 tons of carambola organic fertilizer gave optimum results for the growth of plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, stem diameter, canopy weight, root length and root weight of pakcoy plants. Fertilization using a dose of organic fertilizer 10 tons ha-1 could reduce 50% of the need of inorganic fertilizer.Keywords: fertilizer efficiency, organic fertilizer, pakcoy, starfruit waste, verticulture

Abstract

Terung merupakan salah satu jenis sayuran yang digemari oleh masyarakat karena rasanya yang enak dan mengandung gizi yang cukup tinggi. Pertumbuhan dan produksi terung selain dipengaruhi oleh varietas, keadaan iklim dan cara budidaya, juga dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan hara di dalam tanah. Unsur hara dapat diperoleh dari pupuk organik, seperti bokashi batang pisang. Pemanfaatan batang pisang sebagai bahan baku pembuatan bokashi dapat mengurangi limbah hasil pertanian sekaligus mengurangi penggunaan pupuk kimia oleh masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk bokashi batang pisang terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman terung ungu serta dosis pupuk bokashi yang menghasilkan respon terbaik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Kayamanya, Kabupaten Poso. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok 5 x 5. Perlakuan terdiri dari 5 taraf dosis bokashi (P0 = tanpa; P1 = 5 ton/ha, P2 = 10 ton/ha; P3 = 15 ton/ha; P4 = 20 ton/ha). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian bokashi batang pisang berpengaruh nyata hingga sangat nyata terhadap parameter pertumbuhan dan produksi, kecuali pada parameter bobot buah.Kata kunci: Bokashi, pertumbuhan dan produksi terung ungu
