Abstract

Ocean mirja trading business is located in Ujung Kalak village, West Aceh district. UD is engaged in the processing of fishery products, one of which is processed keumamah fish. Keumamah fish is a traditional Acehnese cuisine made from tuna and skipjack fish raw materials, keumamah fish are often also called wooden fish because of their hard texture like wood. A business, whether high, medium or small, is established with the aim of making a profit. To get big profits, a product marketing is needed. Indicators that must be considered in product marketing include packaging, product name and SPP-IRT permit. Packaging is one element of the product strategy used to attract the attention of consumers to buy the product. Small entrepreneurs usually pay less attention to packaging, product names and licensing so that the products they sell are less attractive. Here packaging improvements are used in helping partner entrepreneurs to increase sales of the products they produce. After making improvements to the packaging and processing the SPP-IRT permit on the product, it can increase the selling price which is slightly higher. The improvement process in this mentoring effort has several stages, namely, interviews and observations, consultations and discussions, practice, and finally the product marketing trial process. After the process of mentoring efforts to improve packaging that has been carried out, namely designing packaging, replacing pouch packaging with plastic bottles. Mentoring activities for 4 months were carried out well and partners were directly involved as determinants and implementers of activities so that there was no reluctance from partners to implement new packaging and follow the process of issuing SPP-IRT.

Abstract

Lung Mane coastal area has magrove forest which reaches an area of 40 ha. The dominant mangrove tree species that grow are Rhizophora sp and Sonneratia sp. Mangrove plants that have a high enough quantity of fruit are Sonneratia alba because at times of unseason, trees can still produce approximately 2 kg / day. Sonneratia alba fruit can be processed to be used as a beverage product in the form of syrup. Sonneratia alba fruit syrup is one of the processed products of mangrove fruit that can increase the economic and ecological value of mangrove forests and can increase the income of people living around mangrove forests, so that by utilizing mangrove fruit into various processed foods and drinks the community is helped economically and indirectly participates in maintaining the sustainability of mangrove forests around them.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic condition that describes stunted growth due to long-term malnutrition. Stunting in toddlers needs special attention because it can hamper the physical and mental development of children. One way to prevent stunting can be done through increasing the amount of fish consumption. The purpose of this activity is to introduce the benefits of consuming fish to children aged 12-15 years. The stages used in this activity are giving a pre-test, socializing the benefits of consuming fish and giving a post-test. The achievement of this activity is that before the campaign it was known that the level of good knowledge of children was 50% good and 50% less. Meanwhile, after the campaign there was a change in the level of children's knowledge increased by 100% which was good and 0% which was less. So it can be concluded that the campaign for eating fish has a significant effect on the level of knowledge of children.

Abstract

Mitigation of climate change is a business activity to reduce the risk of increasing greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere, gases can occur naturally in the environment and can also arise due to human activities. Mangroves are carbon-rich ecosystems and have an important role in climate regulation, namely by their ability to store large amounts of carbon as an effort to offset anthropogenic CO2 emissions. Mangrove ecosystems are able to store high carbon which is useful in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, mangrove ecosystems are also able to store carbon three to four times greater than ordinary tropical forests. The activity was carried out in Lhok Bubon Village, Samatiga District, West Aceh District. This activity was attended by the academic community of FPIK UTU with 50 participants. The method of implementing community service activities used was counseling and demonstration methods with students through planting 100 mangrove stems, namely Rhizopora sp. Protecting the mangrove ecosystem is our common awareness, especially students as the next generation of the nation, one of which is by not cutting down mangrove trees to be used as firewood or charcoal, opening up ponds and destroying the original habitat of mangrove ecosystems that can disrupt coastal aquatic biota. Students are given education (counseling) about the importance of conserving mangrove ecosystems from the threat of climate change mitigation. Students are very enthusiastic and active, it can be seen from the seriousness in participating in mangrove planting activities through discussions, questions and answers, and hands-on practice. Sustainability of a program like this is needed and efforts are made to become a routine program of gampong activities, NGO activities and also academic activities, because with sustainability it will be faster to see the results that have been expected together.

Abstract

Mangrove is a pioneer plant that grows and develops on the coast and becomes the main wave barrier in coastal areas (Woodroffe et al.2016). Based on WIIP and WWF data through the Green Coast program, since 2005 the rehabilitation process of mangrove populations has been conducted in Aceh Jaya Regency. Based on mangrove rehabilitation through gerhan projectdata, an area of 2550 hectares of mangrove area in the west coast area has been rehabilitated since 2005. Socialization and Education of bambu pot application method contributes greatly to the people of Aceh, especially those on the coast of Keude Panga Aceh Jaya. The potential results of socialization/education activities are as follows:1. Mangrove conservation education and mangrove socialization by bambu pot method to partners and local communities change the mindset about mangroves that have many benefits for life .2. With the knowledge that has been given, it is expected that the community can better maintain and preserve mangroves from damage 3. The younger generation and the community can continue their activities with the Organization of coastal conservation teams that have been formed by the Team, it is expected that there is sustainability from the community.The stages that are improved are strengthening the institutions that have been formed through study clubs and partner mentoring.

Abstract

Plastic waste is one type of waste that is very dominant in its use in everyday life. The nature of plastic that is light, strong, durable and cheap causes the use of plastic to continue to increase, from the nature of this plastic it makes plastic very dangerous for the environment which has the potential to be a contaminant, besides that plastic has properties that are not easily decomposed in soil and water, so it can settle and accumulated over a long period of time. The Pulot Beach area is one of the tourist attractions in Aceh Besar, with beautiful natural panoramas and the potential for fisheries in this area is also very potential, so many people visit this area. The high number of tourists visiting the Pulot area can have a negative impact in the form of plastic waste that has the potential to reduce the quality of the coastal and marine environment as well as the preservation of the surrounding environment. The purpose of this service is to provide understanding, knowledge and direction to the coastal community of Gampong Pulot the importance of human awareness of the cleanliness of the sea by not throwing garbage on the beach. This service activity is carried out for one day, namely on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 09:00 to 12:00 WIB, located at Pulot Beach, Leupung District, Aceh Besar Regency. persuasive education and direct practice on how to collect waste, and sort plastic waste and weigh waste. The output obtained after this service activity is the emergence of awareness and initiative from the community and visitors not to throw plastic waste carelessly, so that the preservation of healthy beaches and seas is free from plastic waste.

Abstract

The group of fishermen Samaturu is a group that manages fishing. The fishermen's catch has sold directly only in fresh form by the mothers of fishermen to the people in Lalonggasumeeto village. This is due to a lack of knowledge in processing fishery products, especially from fish. The aim of this community service activity was to improve the knowledge and skills of members group of fishermen Samaturu in processing products of smoked fish to optimize the utilization of fish catches in the village of Lalonggasumeeto, Lalonggasumeeto District, Konawe Regency, Southeast-Sulawesi Province. The target of this community service activity was enriching knowledge and skills for the group of fishermen Lalonggasumeeto village in processing fish into processed smoked fish. The method was delivered by lecturing and training to make smoked fish. The result was that all participants were able to make smoked fish made from cakalang and tuna.

Abstract

Earthquake and tsunami disaster were caused the devastated the properties and victims. One of the area that vurnerable toward tsunami impact is West Aceh. One of the main factor that caused the many victims are decrease the knowledge of society regarding earthquake and tsunami disaster as well as the alert to face the disaster. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare the knowledge and skill regarding the alert of earthquake and tsunami disaster. It is become the author’s initiave for undertaking the socialization of tsunami alert based on sharia islam to Santri MTSS Nurul Huda West Aceh Regency. The empowering community method namely to give the understanding and skill with sharia islam approach to santri of MTSS Nurul Huda West Aceh. The result of empowering community program that already reached includes the coordination with partner, conducting of the planning before activity of empowering community, conducting the socialization of tsunami alert based on sharia islam. The successfully indicator of these activities through pre test and post test showed enhaching of understanding and skill of Partner in alert of tsunami disaster. Therefore, it is necessary to build the regeneration of santri as the agent of management disaster in Aceh area.

Abstract

Tuna is the main Indonesian marine fishery commodity. Tuna meat has nutritional content and tastes that are liked by all people ans is a raw material for processed foods that are available throughout the year. This service activity aims to provide knowledge and skiils on how to make tuna sticks for hausewiives in kuta blang village. The service activity method uses the lecture method for knowledge transfer and technical guidance for direct practice. There are stages of this activity, namely the first stage (1), providing knowledge and theory about the handling of materials and processing tuna fish sticks, the second stage (2), namely giving practice directl to the village women of kuta blang how to process tuna sticks, and the third stage (3), namely training activities carried out through mentoring to women from the village of kuta blang regarding the packaging process after processing tuna into tuna stick products. Assistance is provided in producing tuna sticks both on a household scale and also for marketing. This training involved members of village development students who were accompanied by fish cadres white participanted in the activity from beginning to end and succeeded in making very good tuna fish sticks and have also been able to produce tuna fish sticks both for household scale and to be marketed.

Abstract

Beutong District is one of the sub-districts in Nagan Raya Regency with an area of 1,017.32 Km2. The topography of Beutong District supports the cultivation of freshwater fisheries. The purpose of this service activity is to educate and apply the provision of probiotic technology made from local ingredients to increase production performance and the health status of economically important freshwater aquaculture fish. The method used in this activity is an educational method and application of probiotic technology made from local raw materials for economically important freshwater fish. The program begins with educating about the concept of using probiotic technology made from local ingredients, how to make probiotics made from local ingredients, methods of giving probiotics made from local ingredients and ending with training on good fish farming. Monitoring and evaluation will also be carried out to see the level of independence of fish farmers in applying the science and technology that has been taught and the sustainability of the program as well as the obstacles during this program. The result of this service activity is that probiotic technology made from local ingredients is effectively applied to economically important freshwater fish farming.
