Abstract

Kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) leaves contain flavonoid compounds, saponins, alkoloid, and tannins. Based on the compounds owned kecombrang leaves can be used as a peel off gel mask. The purpose of this study was to make a peel off gel mask formulation of kecombrang (Etlingera elatior) leaf extract as a treatment for facial skin. The gel peel off mask formulation was made with 4 formulations, F0 = 0%, FI = 10%, FII = 15%, FIII = 20%. Extraction method is done using maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Evaluation of peel off gel mask preparations, including organoleptic tests (color, odor, shape), pH measurement of preparations, homogeneity test, dry time test, spreadability test. Peel off gel mask preparations that have effectiveness as treatments for facial skin are FIII formulations with a concentration of 15% that meet the evaluation test requirements, and positive control (Naturgo) which has had better effectiveness test results. The results of the evaluation test of peel off gel mask preparation, including organoleptic test (color, odor, shape), pH measurement of the preparation, homogeneity test, dry time test, dispersion test according to the gel preparation parameters.

Abstract

Dragon fruit contain high antosianin, sources of antosianin can be optained from pink colored fruit and vegetables to red. The natural properties of antosianin can be used as natural dyes in cosmetic preparation were chosen because it is a cosmetic that is quite popular and most comfortable to use. The purpose of this research is to find out whether dragon fruit can be blush on, not irritated and to find out the best formulations. The methode of this research was done by making dragon fruit extract by maceration for 24 hours using etanol. The extract formulation used is 15%, 25%, and 40%. Ingridienst for making blush on include kaolin, parrafin liquid, zink oxyd, and talcum. Evaluation of blus on preparations include homogenty, pH, dispersion, irritation, polish and hedonic. The results of research 3 blush on formulation, the preparation met the homogenity test with no vissible coarse grains and particlesevently mixed. The pH of the preparation producted is still in the normal pH range of spearat evenly and easily attached to the skin, with each application three time polishing. Based on the favorite test after processing statistical data, formulation the most preferred panelish is blush on formulation 3.

Abstract

Daun Bau-Bau (Chromolanea odorata (L) King & H Robins) mengandung senyawa minyak atsiri, flavonoid, alkaloid, fenol, saponin, dan tannin. Temu putih (Curcuma zedoria (Berog.)Rosc) mengandung kurkumin, tritepenoid, flavonoida, saponin dan minyak astiri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membandingkan efektivitas Ekstrak Etanol Daun Bau-Bau dan Ekstrak Etanol Rimpang Temuputih. Ekstraksi sampel menggunakan etanol 96%. Hasil ekstraksi dibagi 7 kelompok konsentrasi yaitu 25%,15%, 10% dan Aquadest sebagai kontrol negatif.Menurut Hasil Analisis Data Anova One Way (Uji Tuckeys B) Diameter luka bakar dari hari pertama sampai ke 14 hari pengamatan mengalami penurunan, kelompok kelinci yang diberi perlakuan dengan ekstrak daun bau-bau konsentrasi 25% pada hari ke- 14 diameter luka bakar mengalami perubahan dengan efektifitas 2 cm (p=0,0). Pada kelompok ekstrak etanol temuputih konsentrasi 25% pada hari ke-14 diameter luka bakar mengalami perubahan dengan efektifitas 1,08 cm (p=0,64). Ekstrak Etanol Daun Bau-Bau Lebih Efektif untuk menyembuhkan luka bakar dibandingkan dengan Ekstrak Etanol Temu Putih.

Abstract

Background: Hati ungu contain natural dyes derived from anthocyanins. Anthocyanin is a pigment that is classified into flavonoids which in general gives a specific color to plants. The natural color found in this purple liver plant can be used as a natural coloring agent in cosmetics. Hair dye cream preparations were chosen because they are popular and easy to use.Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine ethanol extracts of hati ungu can be made as a preparation for hair dye creams, and which formula gives the best color.Method: The research method was carried out including making ethanol extract of hati ungu (Tradescantia pallida) by maceration using 96% ethanol. Results: The results of research on 4 hair dye cream formulations, preparations met the test requirements. The results of the basting test on hair with a vulnerable time for 1-4 hours showed that at the fourth hour the results of hair coloring give a good color. In the color stability test of washing, after washing with shampoo fifteen times all four formulas have a fixed color up to 9 times washing. The results of color stability to sunlight show that after the hair is exposed to sunlight the color looks slightly changed, hair color becomes darker than before. Conclusion: From the results of the research the concentration of ethanol extract of hati ungu which gives the best purple color is ethanol extract cream of hati ungu 20%.

Abstract

Introduction: Antioxidants is contained in various types of fruit and vegetables included of juice tomatoes (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill)that have nutritional value and benefits for the body like lycopene, and vitamin C as antioxidants. Lycopene is function as a strong antioxidant to control free radical. Tumeric (Curcuma domestica Vall) is known have enough curcumin and strong antioxydants content too, and so it has some pharmacological effects. Tomatoes and Tumeric extract (EKSBT) can be made as pharmaceutical preparations in hand and body lotion (H&B lotion),because antioxidants are important components that are used for body protection from ultra violet light and can be applied in the form of a lotion. The purpose of this study was to saw the stability of the H&B lotion combination of that Variations.Objective: Combination tomatoes and turmeric extract formulated with concentrations lotion are of 5%, 10%, and 15%. The lotion of EKSBT these combination were evaluated some test there are organoleptic, homogeneity, pH test, spreadability, irritation and preference test. Results: EKSBT combination can be formulated into lotion preparations. The various of all concentrations lotion EKSBT showed that stable during instorage, give a homogeneous yellow color with pH of 5-6 and a spread of 5-6 cm, does not irritate the skin and is preferably the volunteer. Conclusion: Physical stability EKSBT lotion test all concentration are stable, the preferred test of odor, easy to be smeared and moisturizing shows that the most preferred EKSBT lotion is the highest concentration 15%.

Abstract

Lime (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) is known to have seceral phytochemical contents (flavonoids and saponins) that can be memiliki berbagai aktivitas farmakologis yang bermanfaat. Salah satu aktivitas farmaokologis yang diberikan oleh flavonoid adalah sebagai antibacterial activity. The aims of this research was to determine the antibacterial activity of lime juice against Escherichia coli bacteria. This research used an experimental laboratory research method using antibacterial effectiveness trials against the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria. The research design for antibacterial effectiveness used the lime fruit extract method with 4 treatment groups, positive control and negative control. Antibacterial effectiveness was observed the inhibition zone diameter by disc diffusion method. Results of the Escherichia coli antibacterial effectiveness test obtained at a concentration of 100% had antibacterial activity with an average diameter of the inhibition zone 19.9 mm. The lowest concentration that still provides antibacterial resistance against Escherichia coli is at a concentration of 12.5% ​​with an average diameter of the inhibition zone of 17.9 mm. The results obtained indicated that the antibacterial effectiveness test on lime fruit extract is very strong. At a concentration of 100% it has the best antibacterial activity, the inhibition zone diameter similar with the inhibition zone of 500 mg tetracycline.

Abstract

Infectious diseases caused by bacteria, require antibiotics for treatment. Incorrect use of antibiotics causes. the occurrence of resistance. From the research, it was found that many medicinal plants can be used to cure infectious diseases. One of them is California Papaya Fruit Skin (Carica papaya L). The purpose of this study was to determine the active substance in the skin of the Carica Papaya Fruit as an antibacterial agent and to determine the activity of KBPC extract against E. coli bacteria. This research method is a laboratory experiment where the sample in this study is 3 kg. Phytochemical test results with positive ethanol extraction containing flavonoids, saponins, steroids. Where favonoids can be potential as antibacterial through 3 mechanisms, namely by inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis, inhibiting cell membrane function and inhibiting energy metabolism. The results of the antibacterial activity test against E. coli bacteria were carried out with several concentrations, namely 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%, the test results obtained from the concentration of 20% of 8.76 mm the highest inhibitory power at the concentration 100% of 19.33 mm. Conclusion KBPC extract has antibacterial activity against E. Coli bacteria.

Abstract

Paracetamol is a safe analgesic and antipyretic drug with low side effects, effective and well tolerated. In some cases there is a drug interaction between paracetamol and other drugs. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of cimetidine administration on paracetamol pharmacokinetic profiles. The method used in this study was an experimental method using 3 rabbits. Rabbits are divided into 3 groups. The first treatment group was given paracetamol suspension, the second treatment group was giving cimetidine 1 hour before paracetamol and the third group was giving cimetidine and paracetamol simultaneously. The dose of the drug has been adjusted to each rabbit. Measurement of plasma paracetamol drug levels was carried out using a High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) tool. The results of the study showed that the pharmacokinetic parameter values ​​did not show any significant effect on each group. Cimetidine administration simultaneously affects paracetamol pharmacokinetic parameters but not significantly. Likewise with the administration with a time span of 1 hour, did not show any significant changes in the pharmacokinetics of paracetamol.

Abstract

Banana peel turns out to have many benefits, one of which is that it can be used to accelerate the wound healing process. Banana peel (Musa Paradisiaca L.) ripe yellow skin is rich in flavonoid compounds, as well as other phenolic compounds, besides containing a lot of carbohydrates, minerals such as potassium and sodium and cellulose. This study aims to determine the wound healing effect of cuts using the Ethanol Extract of Kepok Banana Skins in Rats. Determine the concentration of ethanol extract of Kepok banana peel which is the most effective in healing wound cuts in mice. Knowing a significant difference to the acceleration of wound healing between ethanol extracts of Kepok banana peel and betadin. Research methods conducted included characterization, effectiveness test of ethanol extract of Kepok banana peel, manufacture of extract by maceration using ethanol 96% solvent, test of effectiveness of ethanol extract of kepok banana peel on cut wounds in mice. Data analysis using SPSS is Anova One Way Test. From the results of this study the ethanol extract of Kepok banana peel can have an effect on wound healing in mice. Ethanol extract of Kepok banana peel is faster than betadin in healing wound cuts in mice. Ethanol extract of Kepok banana peel with a dose of 750 Mg / kg BW is the most effective in healing wound cuts in rats.

Abstract

African Leaf and palm leaf crops have a secondary metabolite content such as alkaloids and flavonoids that are efficacious as diuretics. The purpose of this study is to know the effectiveness of diuretics from the combination African leaf ethanol extract and palm leaf ethanol extract. Methods used Eksperiemental. The test of diuretic activity is conducted divided into 6 treatment groups. Each group consists of 3 tails of white rats. Group 1 (positive control) administered Furosemide 3.6 mg/kgBB, Group 2 (negative control) was given suspension Na-CMC 0.5%, group 3 without treatment as well as groups of 4.5, and 6 in a row administered a combination of African leaf extract doses and extracts Oil palm leaf ethanol in a row of "50 mg/kgBB + 67, 5mg/kgBB"; "100mg/kgBB + 135 mg/kgBB"; and "200 mg/kgBB + 270 mg/kgBB". Each mouse is then given a 20ml NaCl/kgBB as an oral loading dose. Measured urine volume is recorded every hour for 6 hours after it continues to measure urine volume. The results showed that the combination of African leaf ethanol extract dosage and palm leaf ethanol extract had a diuretic effect if it was compared with negative control. The conclusion of the study was the results of the study showed that the combination of African leaf extract dosage and palm leaf extract is the most effective dose of Group 6 (African leaf extract 200 mg/kgBB + palm leaves 270 mg/kgBB ). Because it produces the highest urine volume of 23.01 ml.
