Spektrum Communication Journal is an academic journal published quarterly every year every March, June, September, and December by Stikosa-AWS in collaboration with ISKI-Jatim, APJIKI, and ASPIKOM. This journal publishes original researches in multi concepts, theories, perspectives, paradigms and methodologies in the communications studies perspective. The focus of this journal is in the communication studies perspective and the scope of the journal are: Journalistics; Public Relations; Broadcasting (TV and Film); Marketing & Tourism Communication; Media and Studies; Gender Studies; Advertising; Every received article should follow the Author guidelines. Any submitted paper will be reviewed by reviewers. The review process employs Double-blind Review that the reviewer does not know the identity of the author, and the author does not know the identity of the reviewers.

Abstract

This study aims to find out psychologist therapeutic communication in dealing with deliberate self-harm clients in 3 research question. This study uses a phenomenological approach. In collecting data, researchers used an interview technique with five informants who were psychologists that practiced and domiciled in Bandung. The results of this study indicate the meaning of a DSH client for a psychologist into three meanings, those who have irrational thoughts, people that have fragile emotion, and those whose emotions are hidden or looking for attention. The experience of psychologist therapeutic communication in dealing with DSH clients is found in 4 major themes: techniques for building therapeutic relationships with clients, the key to understanding clients: active listening, being careful with non- verbal messages, feedback: reserved question. The psychologist's way of handling DSH clients is by handling it like a tailormade (adjusted to the personality and problems of the clients)

Abstract

Indonesia and the world have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. All aspects of life are disturbed and are required to make adjustments in order to survive. Likewise, the Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI). The pandemic makes the entire work plan have to change. On the other hand, organizational strengthening must be carried out so that the existence of the organization is maintained. The step that was then taken was to make more use of the group features on WhatsApp social media. This feature is used to intensify communication within the organization so that the main goal of the organization, namely increasing professionalism, can still be done. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method approach, with data collection techniques, namely interview and participatory observation of the WhatsApp chat group "Pengda and Korda IJTI". Interviews were conducted on six sources who joined the WhatsApp Pengda and Korda IJTI chat group. The results showed that the WhatsApp Pengda and Korda IJTI groups carried out control, motivation, emotional and information functions in strengthening organizations in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The phenomenon of marketing communications in digital marketing can be used for many parties that run the business world.one of them is considered by industry creative in the field of education, namely ruangguru. One of popular social media that have a role in digital marketing communication is instagram. Instagram is considered capable of displaying messages to be conveyed by the businessman. This study discusses the effectiveness of picture messages and text on the instagram account @ruangguru in digital marketing communication. This research using quantitative methods of content analysis descriptive and theory of digital marketing communication and theory of an effective message according to kotler. The results of the research show that the message of the image and text on the instagram account @ruangguru the whole criteria of the message image and text are effective. With effective implementation of picture messages and texts, opportunities ruangguru to increase the interest of consumers to buy increasingly high, from the side of the search engine optimization (seo) the better. So it is very important to understand the content and form of messages that address the needs and interests of consumers. Suggestions for further research, in order to expand research by using marketing communication strategy theory with qualitative methods in order to hold the aspect of research in the perspective of the Instagram account owner.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The video showing the anger of President Joko Widodo during a plenary session at the State Palace invited various comments from several parties. This incident also did not escape the media coverage. This study analyzes the news about President Joko Widodo's anger. The identification of the news was taken from three online media, namely Kompas.com, JawaPos.com and Tempo.co, using four dimensions of Robert Entman's model framing analysis, namely: Define the problem, Diagnose cause, Make moral judgment and Treatment recommendation. The approach in this research is qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the three online media above have their respective points of view in reporting President Joko Widodo's anger during the plenary session. Abstract

Sebagai perusahaan yang bergerak pada bidang hospitality, Royal Trawas Hotel & Cottages ingin membangun komunikasi yang sehat dengan karyawan. Royal Trawas Hotel & Cottages menyadari bahwa bisnis ini tidak akan berjalan tanpa adanya performa terbaik dari karyawan. Oleh karena itu, untuk membina hubungan yang baik dengan karyawan Royal Trawas Hotel & Cottages melalui Departemen Human Resources Development (HRD) melakukan sejumlah aktivitas Employee Relations. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, peneliti ingin mengetahui tentang aktivitas Employee Relations yang dilakukan di Royal Trawas Hotel & Cottages. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Departemen HRD telah membuata sejumlah aktivitas employee relations yaitu pertemuan program pendidikan dan pelatihan hingga corporate social responsibility. Peran Departemen HRD dalam aktivitas employee relations diantaranya adalah melakukan analisis awal, merancang aktivitas employee relations sesuai budaya perusahaan, menganalisis efektivitas peran dan tanggung jawab staf dalam aktivitas employee relations, melakukan diseminasi informasi, menentukan dan mengelola media internal, menciptakan hubungan humanis antara pimpinan dan karyawan serta melakukan evaluasi terhadap aktivitas employee relations. Aktivitas Employee Relations bergantung dengan komunikasi internal. Komunikasi internal yang terjadi di Royal Trawas and Cottages adalah komunikasi ke bawah atau downward communication dari pimpinan kepada karyawan, komunikasi hilir vertikal atau upward communication, komunikasi horizontal yang berlangsung antara karyawan dengan karyawan lainnya. Penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai evaluasi bagi Royal Trawas Hotel & Cottages serta Royal Hospitality Management.

Abstract

The Large-Scale Social Restriction Policy (PSBB) is decided by the government to reduce the number of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the DKI Jakarta Province. This study aims to describe how online media constructs this policy through media framing. The two media studied were detik.com and narasi.tv. Framing analysis uses the Robert N Etman concept to determine problem identification, casual interpretation, treatment recommendation, and moral evaluation. The results showed that the two media construct PSBB differently. Detik.com sees PSBB as a policy formed as a result of community disobedience to health protocols. This media constructs society and COVID-19 as actors causing policy. Meanwhile, Narasi.tv sees the PSBB as a form of government flight from responsible. This media tends to blame government for the high number of COVID-19 cases in DKI Jakarta.

Abstract

The times have led to the emergence of various kinds of digital technologies that can be accessed easily. The emergence of various kinds of digital technology is an important necessity for many people. The uses of digital technology cannot be separated from everyday life. The uncontrolled frequency of using digital technology results in various kinds of bad impacts on humans, one of which is that it can lead to digital addiction. Although in essence humans are free creatures and have freedom of behavior in their daily lives, if this freedom is not controlled properly, it will harm many parties. To overcome this issue, Digital detox is needed so that humans can control their freedom in the use of digital technology.

Abstract

Podcasts is an audio-based information medium that is in demand by various countries, including in Indonesia, podcast enthusiasts have experienced a significant increase. This study looks at the socio-demographic factors and adaptation of podcast users through surveys and interviews which illustrate that the majority of podcast users in Indonesia are in big cities like Jakarta and come from diverse groups with expectations of getting entertainment where podcast users claim to be satisfied with the convenience and impact. which is obtained from the use of podcasts. Abstract

The Queen's Gambit is a drama series that raises the issue of sexism against women, which in this drama is aimed at the character Beth Harmon. This study used a qualitative method with the semiotic approach of Roland Barthes. This study aimed to determine the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myths created about sexism in the drama series The Queen's Gambit. The scenes that became the object of the study consisted of 5 scenes that showed sexist behavior and speech. The results of this study indicate that women are depicted as creatures that are not smarter than men, are considered weak creatures, are objects made by the mass media to increase the market, are considered sexual objects, and are also considered troublesome for men.

Abstract

Public service advertisements are media whose job is to build public trust and contain social messages. The achievement of effective public service advertisements is influenced by audience factors, the quality factor of public service advertisements, and the delivery of public service advertisements. Public trust is one of the factors increasing public participation in development which is the task of public service announcements. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the form of delivery and factors of effectiveness of public service advertisements, and to analyze the effect of public service announcements on public participation in the success of the health protocol campaign. This literature study summarizes the results of research on the effectiveness of public service advertisements, the form of delivery of public service announcements, and community participation in development. This study focuses on discussing the Public Service Advertisements (ILM) of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia regarding COVID-19.
