Abstract

Abstract: This study was aimed to examine the effectiveness of collaborative problem-solving-based learning to improve knowledge about chemistry content in the automotive vocational context. The study design used was one-group pretest-posttest design and applied to Vocational Chemistry subjects. Data analysis was performed by using the normalized gain-test formula and t-test using SPSS software version 21. The findings showed that collaborative learning is effective to improve pre-service teachers’ knowledge about chemistry content of petroleum and polymer chemistry. The mastery level of basic knowledge about the petroleum and polymers is fairly good. However, the knowledge of the content of petroleum and polymer applications in the automotive field is not satisfactory. Although the application content knowledge increased with the moderate criterion for the application of petroleum and with the low criterion for polymer applications, the mastery level of pre-service teachers at the end of the course was still low. Factors that allegedly become the causes of the low mastery of application content knowledge are the characteristic factor of the content, conceptual learning difficulties and the experience factor. Keywords: content knowledge, chemistry in the vocational context, preservice chemistry teachers, petroleum, polymers PEMBELAJARAN KOLABORATIF UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PENGETAHUAN KONTEN KIMIA KONTEKS KEJURUAN OTOMOTIF CALON GURU KIMIA Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas pembelajaran kolaboratif berbasis pemecahan masalah dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan konten kimia konteks kejuruan otomotif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretes-postes design dan diterapkan pada mata kuliah Kimia SMK. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t menggunakan software SPPS edisi 21 dengan menggunakan rumus gain-test yang dinormalisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kolaboratif efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan konten minyak bumi dan polimer bagi mahasiswa calon guru kimia. Tingkat penguasaan pengetahuan dasar tentang minyak bumi dan polimer cukup baik. Namun, untuk pengetahuan konten aplikasi minyak bumi dan polimer dalam bidang otomotif belum memberikan hasil yang menggembirakan. Meskipun pengetahuan konten aplikasi tersebut meningkat dengan kriteria peningkatan sedang untuk aplikasi minyak bumi dan kriteria rendah untuk aplikasi polimer, tingkat penguasaan calon guru di akhir perkuliahan masih rendah. Faktor yang diduga menjadi penyebab rendahnya penguasaan pengetahuan konten aplikasi ini adalah faktor karakteristik konten, kesulitan belajar konseptual, dan faktor pengalaman. Abstract

Education in science has been developing rapidly in its variousdimensions and this canbe considered a new paradigm in scienceeducation. The dimensions considered highly significant intheirdevelopment are the instructional approach, orientation to diversityof learners' characteristics, expansion of the orientation to educa­tional output, and interinstitutional and international collaboration.Science educationis no longer considered sterile in characterwith orientationonly to the interest of understanding science anddeveloping scientific thinking. Human and social values that can bedeveloped through science education have startedto be discoveredand studied.An inter- and multidisciplinary character of scienceeducation is becoming more dominant and it willbe the characterthat tends to develop further in the future.Science education canbe used as a medium to identify theperspectiveof the nation's development and as a basis fortechnological development and nation building. The responsibilityofscience education for national development is increasingly becomingbigger and the educationin science needs to be renewedcontinuouslyin order not to be left behind by the nation it self.

Abstract

Abstract: The National Indonesian Ministry of Education expresses the importance of educating friendliness by stating it in a Master Plan of National Character Development for 2010-2015. However the success of character education needs a meaningful classroom situation. Unfortunately, teaching materials to create meaningful classroom situation that enhances friendliness character is still  rare. Sainsmatika fairytale books are science and mathematic’s teaching material which was developed with the wisdom of fairytale, which is attractive to integrate friendliness value. The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of sainsmatika fairytale books as a means of integrating friendliness  into teaching materials for fourth-grade students in Indonesia. A pretest-posttest control-group experimental design was used in this study to investigate the product effectiveness. This study involved 80 fourth-grade students at one of the districts in Indonesia. The experimental group was taught using sainsmatika fairytale books containing one of the character values in character education, i.e., friendliness. The quantitative data were collected through observation on student activity. The data were then analyzed using statistical methods to calculate the values and determine the frequency as well as the mean of pretest and posttest scores in both control and experimental groups. Through one way ANOVA statistical analysis, it was found that the use of sainsmatika fairytale books is significantly effective to enhance the student friendliness.Kata Kunci: fairy stories, sainsmatika, friendliness character Integrasi Cerita Dongeng untuk Pembelajaran BermaknaAbstrak: Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional Indonesia mengekspresikan pentingnya mengajarkan karakter bersahabat dengan memasukkannya ke dalam Master Plan Pengembangan Karakter Nasional 2010-2015. Keberhasilan pendidikan karakter mebutuhkan situasi pembelajaran yang bermakna. Bahan ajar untuk menciptakan situasi pembelajaran bermakna yang dapat meningkatkan karakter bersahabat masih kurang. Buku dongeng sainsmatika adalah bahan ajar sains dan matematika yang dikembangkan dengan pendekatan kearifan dongeng yang menarik untuk diintegrasikan dengan nilai karakter bersahabat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui keefektifan buku dongeng sainsmatika sebagai bahan ajar terhadap karakter bersahabat siswa.  Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan experimental pretest-posttest control-group design. Sebanyak 80 siswa kelas 4 sekolah dasar di salah satu provinsi di Indonesia dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini. Setiap kelas eksperimen belajar menggunakan buku dongeng sainsmatika. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi dan dianalisis dengan teknik statistik anova untuk menghitung frekuensi dan rata-rata hitung pretes dan postes baik kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan buku dongeng sainsmatika mampu meningkatkan karakter bersahabat siswa secara signifikan.Keywords: dongeng, sainsmatika, karakter bersahabat

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara konsep diri, komitmen, dan motivasi berprestasi dengan prestasi renang 100m gaya bebas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan survai. Sampel penelitiannya atlet renang Jawa Barat berjumlah 35 orang dan diambil melalui teknik random. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara: (1) konsep diri dan prestasi renang 100m gaya bebas; (2) komitmen dan prestasi renang 100m gaya bebas; (3) motivasi berprestasi dan prestasi renang 100m gaya bebas; dan (4) konsep diri, komitmen, dan motivasi berprestasi secara bersama-sama dengan prestasi renang 100m gaya bebas. Kata Kunci: konsep diri, komitmen, motivasi berprestasi, dan prestasi renang gaya bebas THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN SELF-CONCEPT, COMMITMENT, AND ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION WITH FREESTYLE SWIMMING ACHIEVEMENT Abstract: The Study is aimed at finding out the relationship between self-concept, commitment, and achievement motivation with freestyle swimming achievement. The method used in this research is suevai method. The samples in this research is swimming atheletes consisted with 35 samples selected randomly. The result of the study indicated positive relationship between: (1) self-concept with freestyle swimming achievement; (2) commitment with freestyle swimming achievement; and (3) achievement motivation with freestyle swimming achievement. There is also a positive and significant correlation between slefconcept, commitment, and achievement motivation together with freestyle swimming achievement. Abstract

Abstrak: Tujan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kualitas pelayanan dan komitmen mahasiswa terhadap motivasi berprestasi di PTS Jakarta. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 80 mahasiswa. Kerangka penelitian mengacu pada apakah kualitas pelayanan dan komitmen memunyai pengaruh terhadap motivasi berprestasi yang diukur lewat angket. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas 25 butir pertanyaan untuk kualitas pelayanan, 26 butir komitmen, dan 29 butir motivasi berprestasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik korelasi, analisis regresi ganda, dan koefisien jalur dengan bantuan SPSS versi 17.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh dari kualitas pelayanan terhadap motivasi berprestasi; (2) terdapat pengaruh dari komitmen terhadap motivasi berprestasi; (3) terdapat pengaruh kualitas pelayanan dan komitmen secara bersama-sama terhadap motivasi berprestasi mahasiswa PTS Jakarta. Kata Kunci: kualitas pelayanan, komitmen, motivasi berprestasi THE INFLUENCE OF SERVICE QUALITY AND STUDENT COMMITMENT ON ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION AT PRIVATE UNIVERSITY Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of service quality and commitment on achievement motivation at Private University in Jakarta. The subject of this research were 80 students, by using 5 Likert Scale. The framework of this research was based on that service quality (X 1 ) and commitment (X ) had influence of achievement motivation (Y). The service quality was measured with 25 items question, commitment was measured with 26 items question, and achievement motivation was measured with 29 items question/statement. Data analysis used in this research was a multiple regression and path analysis. Obtained data then were examined with SPSS 17.0 version. From the research it can concluded that: (1) there was influence of service quality toward achievement motivation; (2) there was influence of commitment toward achievement motivation; (3) there was influence of service quality and commitment simultaneously toward achievement motivation students in Private University Jakarta. 2 Keywords : service quality, commitment, achievement motivation

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesiapan siswa SMK dan sekolah menghadapi praktik kerja industri dan kesiapan pihak industri melaksanakan praktik kerja industri. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis survei. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh guru pembimbing prakerin dan kepala sekolah, instruktur prakerin di industri, dan seluruh siswa kelas XI program keahlian teknik bangunan di Kota Makassar yang telah melaksanakan prakerin. Penarikan sampel menggunakan ProportionateSampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan angket, pengamatan, dan dokumentasi, sedang analisis data dengan teknik statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa SMK siap melakukan praktik kerja industri. Hal itu didukung oleh tingkat pengetahuan siswa, sosialisasi yang dilakukan oleh sekolah, dan kemampuan keterampilan dasar siswa yang baik. SMK siap melakukan praktik kerja industri. Industri pelaksana prakerin siap melakukan praktik kerja industri terutama pada industri golongan besar dan menengah, sedang industri golongan kecil hanya 75%. Kerja sama yang terbangun antara industri dan sekolah masih kurang baik terutama pada industri-industri golongan kecil, sedang golongan menengah dan besar sudah cukup baik walaupun masih sangat terbatas. Kata kunci: kesiapan, praktik kerja industri, program studi keahlian teknik bangunanTHE READINESS IN IMPLEMENTING THE INDUSTRIAL WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM OF THE VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT IN MAKASSAR CITY Abstract:This study was aimed to describe the readiness of the vocational high school students, the schools and the industries to implement the industrial work experience program. This study belongs to a survey method. The population consisted of all teachers supervising the industrial work experience program and principals, all instructors in industries, and all grade XI students in the civil engineering program in Makassar City joining the industrial work experience program. The sample was drawn using the proportional stratified sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaires, observations, and documentation, while the data were analyzed descriptively. The findings showed that the students were ready to implement the industrial work experience program. This was supported by the students’ knowledge level, the socialization done by the schools, and the students’ good basic skill ability. The vocational high schools were ready to implement the industrial work experience program. The industries were also ready to implement the industrial work experience program, especially those belonging to the large and medium scales, while the small scale industries were not fully ready (only 75%). The cooperation between industries and schools were not good, especially in the small scale industries, while in the large and medium scale industries, the cooperation was better, though it was still limited. Abstract

AbstractMoral value education is both a demand and a need for human beings as amanifestation of togetherness in terms of nations and countries with a variety ofproblems. There are a lot of problems, such as global terrorism andmultidimensional crises, which one country cannot solve on its own because to doso it needs other countries supports. Moral value education is an alternativeproblem solution which is local, regional, national, and international in nature. Ithas become a global issue in several countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, India, andChina) and it has some differences and similarities. The differences result from thecountries different ideologies. However, such countries emphasize moral valueeducation on moral ethic values, especially on values related to human rights thatare universal and global in nature. The concept of moral value education proposedby Kohlberg and Miller tends to be individualistic. Therefore, its needs to becomplemented by taking account of the paradigm proposed by Capra that humanlife is built on the basis of a systemic and holistic view of life, one which is notpartial and individualistic. In its implementation, it needs an appropriate approachand a relevant method and technique. The approaches to moral value educationinclude inculcating, modelling, facilitating, and skill development approaches, andthe methods include dogmatic, deductive, inductive, and reflective methods.Keywords: moral value education, global perspective

Abstract

Banyak diketemukan anak yang menhalami kesulitan belajar di tingkat Sekoalh Dasar. Anak-anak tersebut menunjukkan prestasi yang tidak sesuai dengan potensinya atau di bawah harapan (underachievement), sehingga mengalami kegagalan dalam belajar di sekoalah. Penyebab dari kesulitan dapat bermacam-macam, salah satu di antaranya mengalami Disfungsi Minimal Otak (DMO).
