Abstract

A study on the reproduction aspect of Kapiek fish (Puntius schwanefeldi Bleeker) at three stations of the Rangau river in Riau – Sumatra was conducted in May – September 2000, by using a cast net and a gill net during trapping periods lasting three nights a month at each station for four months. A total of 375 individuals have been caught. The sexual ratio between males and females was not significantly different from 1. The first gonad maturation is at body weight of 115 g. The body length and body weight are proportional to the gonad maturation degree. The higher the gonad maturation index level, the higher the fecundity. Eggs which are ready to spawn are of diametre 0,27 to 0,40 mm. The distribution of egg diametre indicates that “ Kapiek” belongs to a kind of fish with a large fecundity and using a partial spawning type.

Abstract

Abstrak : This study aims to determine the quality of daily test questions made by biology teacher class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru in the 2018/2019 school year based on qualitative and quantitative analysis. This research was conducted in March 2019 to May 2019. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research instrument is a daily test question made by biology teachers consisting of four Basic Competencies, student answer sheets, a grid of daily test questions and biology’s syllabus. Analysis of the questions was done qualitatively and quantitatively.  The results showed that the analysis of questions qualitatively in terms of the suitability of the questions based on the rules of writing questions obtained very good categories. The distribution of the cognitive domains of Bloom's Taxonomy shows that daily test questions are dominated by questions in the medium category, but questions do not have a good balance between easy questions and difficult questions. Quantitative analysis which consists of analysis of the level of difficulty of items, distinguishing features, item validity and reliability shows that the questions have poor quality. This is indicated by the 103 items which were 42% rejected (42 items), 36% (38 items) were considered and the percentage of questions received were 22% (23 items).  Key words: Analysis Of Item Question, Daily Test Question Made By The Teacher, Biology

Abstract

Abstract: Schools as formal education institutions are a means of achieving educational goals through the teaching and learning process. This research was conducted to find out the analysis of facilities infrastructure and motivation learn of natural science in class VIII junior high school of Annur Pekanbaru from April to November 2018. This study was conducted with a sample of eighth grade students totaling 17 students in the 2017/2018 school year using total sampling techniques. The instruments used were questionnaires and observation sheets. Data obtained by distributing questionnaires and direct observation. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. Analysis of infrastructure in Annur Pekanbaru Middle School obtained an average 68,45% percentage including quite good categories. Analysis of the learning motivation of Grade VIII students at Annur Pekanbaru Middle School was obtained by the average 63,76% percentage including enough categories. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that with facilities and good learning motivastion it will create a better learning process.Key words: analysis, motivation to learn, facilities and infrastructure

Abstract

Abstract: The world of plants (Plantae) is one of the subjects Biology class X is quite difficult. Since the number of division or classification of the plant world (Plantae). To be able to classify the necessary knowledge of general characteristics, structure and function of the body, the way of life and habitats as well as the mode of reproduction of these plants that were studied in detail. The purpose of this research is to increase understanding and knowledge of students about the world of plants (Plantae). This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Department of the University of Riau PMIPA FKIP and SMAN 8 Pekanbaru in March to July 2017. The research is a research development by using ADDIE model of integration to the stage of development. There are 5 learning developed. Instruments of data collection in this study is the assessment sheet/validation module, and questionnaire responses of learners. After module developed, validated by 4 validator then the tests I in the 4th semester 15 students of biology education FKIP UR, and a second trial on 20 students of Class XI SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. The tests showed the average score feasibility aspects of the content of 5 learning developed valid category is 3,91, the average score 3,99 categories designing aspect is valid, and the mean score of the pedagogic aspect is 3,97 valid category. The mean overall score of the fifth aspect is 3.95 is valid category. I trial results showed the average score 4.05 with good category. II trial results showed a mean score of 3.83 in good categories. The results of the analysis of the answers to the first trial showed a mean value of 81.8 in good categories. module Scientific Approach Based on Material World of Plants (Plantae) can increase the understanding and knowledge about the world of plants (Plantae) and can increase critical thinking ability of learners.Key Words: Development, module, Scientific Approach, Critical Thinking, World of Plants (Plantae)

Abstract

Abstract: Research has been carried out in Pekanbaru N 12 Middle School from January to March 2019 which aims to determine the implementation of the constructivism approach to science learning in grade VII students of junior high school using the quasi-experimental technique. The sample used in this study is class VII 2 and VII 3, which amount to each class 32 while the population is all students of class VII SMP N Pekanbaru. The instruments used are learning tools in the form of syllabus, learning implementation plans (RPP), student worksheets based on constructivism approaches. The results showed that the LKPD based on the constructivism approach had an effect on learning outcomes indicating that the control class with a pretest average of 30.54, while in the experimental class with an average value of 31.40 with the pretest category in the two classes "Very poor" at interval <34, this shows that at the beginning of learning before learning or treatment is given both classes have a mean that is not much different. While the average value of posttest in contriol class 78.90 with the category "Enough" at the interval value of 55-64 and in the experimental class the mean value was 88.12 with the category "Very Good" which at intervals 85-100. It can be concluded that the effect of LKPD based on the constructivism approach can improve the learning outcomes of class VII students of SMP N Pekanbaru.Key Words: LKPD Based on Constructivism Approach, Learning Outcomes, Science Learning

Abstract

Abstract: Has conducted a descriptive study aims to provide an overview of the scientific attitude of students on the course in the Aquatic Ecology Studies Program Riau University Biology Education Academic Year 2014/2015. The samples were students of Biology Education FKIP Riau University who took a course Aquatic Ecology Academic Year 2014/2015 amounted to 99 people. Parameter research is the scientific attitude indicators: an attitude of curiosity, collaboration, conscientious, honest, critical and responsible attitude. Data was collected using observation sheets, scientific attitude in the four meetings in the course Aquatic Ecology. The results showed that the attitude of scientific curiosity at every meeting is 74.12 - 77.69% to the category of good, conscientious attitude to every meeting is 72.47 - 80.30% with the good category, the attitude of responsibility is 73.23 - 77.78% good category, cooperative attitude of students is 75.51 - 89.65% excellent category, a critical stance is 73.23 - 77.53% categorized as good and honest attitude of students at each meeting is 73.23 - 76.52% with the good category. Abstract

Abstract: Each student has different abilities and intelligence. So, it is important for teachers to plan learning by implementing appropriate learning strategies, one of which is the Multiple Intelligences learning strategy. The implementation of this strategy must be supported by the use of appropriate teaching materials, one of which is LKPD based on Multiple Intelligences. This study aims to develop quality LKPD based on Multiple Intelligences on Immunity System material. This research was conducted at the Biology Education FKIP UNRI, SMAN Plus Provinsi Riau, and SMAN 15 Pekanbaru in August 2020 – April 2021. It used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with ADDIE model. The instruments used are validation and response questionnaires. The results of achieving an average value of 3.66 categories are very valid. The results of the limited trial phase I obtained an average value of 3.40 in the very good category. The results of the limited trial phase II obtained an average value of 3.26 in the very good category. The results showed that the Electronic LKPD based on Multiple Intelligences on immunity system materials had been developed and of good quality and suitable to be used as a learning resource.Key Words: Student Worksheet, Electronic, Immunity System

Abstract

Abstract: Research it’s done to know the quality of the final semester exam made by the science teacher of junior high school all sub-districts Tambang regency Kampar lesson year 2017/2018. This research was implemented in June-November 2018 in the Study of Biology University of Riau. Research uses a survey method with type cross sectional design. The sample is selected of purposive sampling that consists of the even semester exam and the answer sheet of class students VII in Junior High School of 2 Tambang, Junior High School of 4 Tambang and Junior High School of 5 Tambang. The parameters in this research are a quantitative analysis consisting of the difficulty level, the power of the criterion, the function of distraktor, validity and reliability. Based on the result of quantitative analysis by using anatest version 4.10 shows that 38 questions received without repair (31,66%), 81 questions need repair (67,5%) and 1 questions being replaced (0,83%). Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to improve communication skills and learning outcomes through the implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type cooperatif model in biology science learning for class VIII.2 students of SMP Negeri 34 Pekanbaru. This research was conducted from February to March 2020. The sample of this study was 36 students. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out for 2 cycles each cycle with 3 meetings and I time UH. The instruments used are learning tools and data collection instruments. The parameters observed were written communication skills, oral communication skills, learning outcomes in the form of absorption, learning completeness, group rewards, and attitudes. The results of this study indicate that the average value of students’ written communication skills in the first cycle is 78,80 in the sufficient category and the second cycle increases to 87,45 in the good category. The average value of the absorption of students in the first cycle was 78,27 in the sufficient category and increased in the second cycle to 84 in the good category. Completeness of learning outcomes in the first cycle were 27 (75%) students who completed and in the second cycle increased by 34 (94,44%) students who completed. The average value of the attitude in the first cycle was 80,85 in the sufficient category and increased in the second cycle to 86,27 in the good category. The average value of oral communication skills in the first cycle was 79,19 in the sufficient category and increased in the second cycle to 86,56 in the category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) type cooperatif model can impove communication skills and student learning outcomes in the Biology science subject class VIII.2 SMP Negeri 34 Pekanbaru in the 2019/2020 school year.Key Words: TSTS type cooperatif learning, Communication Skils, Leraning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to develop a written test instrument based on scientific approach of the topic motion system on 11th grade in senior high school in October 2019-January 2020. The research was conducted in two places, for validation and phase I limited trials conducted at Biology Education Campus FKIP UNRI and the test phase II limited trials were conducted at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. This type of research refers to the R&D research approach using the ADDIE model developed by Dick and Carry. The subject of this research is the subject matter of Biology on 11th grade in senior high school KD 3.5. The written test instrument developed consisted of 5 meetings with an allocation of 15 minutes for posttest work and 2x45 minutes (2 JP) for daily test questions. The parameters of this study include the results of the validation of the development of a written test instrument by the validator and the response of the limited phase I and phase II trial evaluations. The assessment is done using a validation sheet and a questionnaire. Data analysis is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results of this study indicate the written test instruments that have been developed are in the category of very valid with an average score of all aspects of 3.41, the value of the results of the limited trial phase I on all aspects obtained an average score of 3.35 and stage II 3.33 with very good categories . The results of theanalysis of the whole items of the test instrument from posttest 1 to daily tests in phase I trials obtained a reliability index of 0.837 to 0.939 in the very high category, a difficulty level index of 0.143 to 0.857, a difficult to easy category, a distinguishing power index at intervals of 0.40-1, 00 categories of questions are well received, and the percentage of effective deceiters is 70% -100%. While the results of the analysis of the whole item test instruments from posttest 1 to daily tests in phaseII trials obtained a reliability index of 0.685–0.923 categories of high to very high, difficulty index index of 0.138–0.758 categories of difficult to easy, distinctive power index at intervals of 0.40 -1.00 question categories were well received, and the percentage of deceiters was effective at 100%. Based on the results of the validation, the results of the limited trial phase I, the limited trial results phase II, and the revisions that have been made, this written test instrument is good and feasibleto be used as an evaluation tool in learning based on the scientific approach at school to hone and assess problem solving skills by students.KeyWords: Written Test Instrument, Scientific Approach, Motion System
