Abstract

This research aims to (1) inventory and describe the manuscript of Serat Gembring Baring, (2) display and describe the teachings to reach life safety in the manuscript, (3) explain the character values in the manuscript.  The data are all text or lyrics song in the manuscript. The type of this research was descriptive research with a content analysis method. The process of collecting the data is done by reading technique, taking note and also selecting or reducing the data. The data were analysed descriptively. The validity of the data was gained through semantic validity. Intrarater and interrater reliabity was used to gain the reliability of the data. From the results of the analysis, there are 11 text of Serat Gembring Baring and the manuscript used in this research is still well. There were 6 things that must be done to achieve safety, 1) must have knowledge; 2) must learn about theology (Islam) and science of Java; 3) do the goodness; 4) stay away from the bad things; 5) always pray; and 6) have faith. There are 10 character values in Serat Gembring Baring still related to present life, including religiousity, honesty, discipline, preserance, democracy, curiousity, respect, friendliness, sociability, and responsibility.

Abstract

This research aimed to interpretate Jñana Marga Yoga philosophy of life and interpretate the doctrine of Jñana Marga Yoga in the manuscript of Sêrat Bhagawad Gita. The research used philology and descriptive methods. Philological method was carried out in three stages, namely the transliteration, editing, and translation of text. Descriptive method was used to interpretate the philosophy of life and the value of the theaching of the text. The source of the data was a manuscript of Sêrat Bhagawad Gita. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis. Validation of data used semantic validity and reliability (intrarater and interrater). The result of this research are as follows. (1) The philosophy of life from Jñana Marga Yoga is (a) seeing the glory of God, (b) the way of perfection, (c) the science of karma, (d) the science of yadnya, (e) the science of wisdom. (2) Jñana Marga Yoga is the way to achieve the perfection of life with the knowledge of wisdomFALSAFAH HIDUP JÑANA MARGA YOGA DALAM NASKAH SÊRAT BHAGAWAD GITAPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan interpretasi falsafah hidup Jñana Marga Yoga dan interpretasi ajaran Jñana Marga Yoga dalam naskah Sêrat Bhagawad Gita. Metode penelitian meliputi dua tahap, yaitu metode filologi dan metode deskriptif. Metode filologi dilakukan dengan tiga tahapan, yaitu transliterasi, suntingan, dan terjemahan teks. Metode penelitian deskritif digunakan dalam interpretasi ajaran dan falsafah hidup teks. Sumber data penelitian ialah naskah berjudul Sêrat Bhagawad Gita. Analisis dilakukan dengan analisis deskriptif. Validitas dan reliabilitas yang digunakan ialah validitas semantik dan reliabilitas (intrarater dan inerrater). Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: (1) falsafah hidup Jñana Marga Yoga yaitu (a) melihat kemuliaan Tuhan, (b) jalan kesempurnaan, (c) ilmu tentang karma, (d) ilmu tentang yadnya, (e) ilmu kebijaksanaan; dan (2) Jñana Marga Yoga merupakan jalan yang ditempuh untuk mencapai kesempurnaan hidup dengan jalan ilmu kebijaksanaan

Abstract

This study was aimed at improving student softskills in solving problems on the development, training, and preservation of language, literature, and Javanese culture in practice in Mata Kuliah Pembinaan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya Jawa (PPBSBJ) course with the adaptation of the innocamp method. It was categorized as quantitative descriptive study. The instruments used were: (1) questionnaire of pretest and posttest, and (2) observation sheet. The qualitative data in this study were obtained by two methods, namely: literature and field studies with interviews and questionnaires. While quantitative data were gathered in the form of pre-test and post-test. The population of the study was 24 people. The success of the method application was seen if 75% of the total number of students who took part in the learning had scored ≥75. Based on the research, it was proven that the innocamp method is effective for improving softskills. Improvement can also be seen from the difference between before and after logit values. The value after application was higher than before the application of the method. Based on the data analysis, it was also found that the average soft skill value increased when compared to before applying the innocamp method. The original soft skill score was 67.80 and increased up to 81.70.Peningkatan Softskills Mahasiswa dalam Mata Kuliah PPBSBJ dengan Adaptasi Metode Innocamp.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan softskills mahasiswa dalam penyelesaian permasalahan seputar pengembangan, pembinaan, dan pelestarian bahasa, sastra, dan budaya Jawa secara nyata dalam Mata Kuliah Pembinaan Bahasa, Sastra, dan Budaya Jawa (PPBSBJ) dengan adaptasi metode innocamp. Jenis penelitian ini penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu: (1) kuesioner pre test dan post test, dan (2) lembar pengamatan. Populasi penelitian 24 orang. Keberhasilan penerapan metode dilihat apabila 75 % dari jumlah mahasiswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran telah mendapat skor ≥ 75. Berdasarkan penelitian terbukti bahwa metode innocamp efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan softskills. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, didapatkan hasil nilai sig 0,000 (nilai sig 0,05). Simpulan pengujian hipotesis menolak H0 artinya ada pebedaan sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan metode. Peningkatan juga dapat dilihat dari selisih nilai logit sebelum dan sesudah. Nilai sesudah penerapan lebih tinggi dibandingkan sebelum penerapan metode. Berdasarkan analisis data, juga didapatkan kenaikan rata-rata nilai softskills jika dibandingkan dengan sebelum penerapan metode innocamp. Nilai rata-rata softskills semula yaitu 67,80 dan meningkat menjadi 81,70

Abstract

(Title: The Dynamics of Puppet Culture Towards The World of Reality in Wayang Pesisiran). The world of puppetry is so attached to Javanese society where the changes of the times does not detract from the existence of puppets in Javanese people's lives. This study aims to describe the characteristics of coastal puppets and the dynamics of puppet culture towards the world of reality in coastal puppets using qualitative approaches. The data source used is a video of coastal puppets and interviews to Ki Kartono. Data is collected by means of listen, record, and interview. The data analysis used was the qualitative analysis of Miles Huberman (1992). Based on the results of research, coastal puppet shows always begin by introducing the mission of the show and introducing the main characters in the play to be told. The cultural dynamics of puppetry towards the world of reality in coastal puppets contain at least six dynamics, namely: a) religious; b) greetings; c) the territory of the country; d) socio-cultural; e) the growth of life (kasampurnaning dumadi); and f) employment. The dynamics that occur in the world of puppetry indicates the dynamic in Javanese puppetry in an effort to continue to maintain its existence in modern times today. Keywords: cultural dynamics, the world of reality, wayang pesisiran

Abstract

This article is about a research study conducted to describe the system,type, and function of form of address in wayang kulit, the Javanese leather-puppetshadow play. The subject under study was a recording of such a play titled KarnaTandhing performed by Timbul Hadiprayitna as the puppet master. The researchmethod applied was descriptive in nature. The research data were obtained bymeans of a listen-and-write technique and analyzed by means of contextualinterpretation.The research results are as follows. 1. The system of form of address inwayang kulit consists of aspects of (1) relation between the addresser andaddressee, (2) sex/gender, (3) setting (place, time, and atmosphere), (4) purpose,(5) honoring, (6) doer, vocation, or profession, (7) marriage and love, (8) mentionof dwelling place, (9) religion and belief, (10) use of pronoun, (11) zero, and (12)mention of specific identity. In type, the form of address can be, among others, (1)a pronoun, (2) a proper name: a pre-adult name, an alternative name, or dasanama,(3) a title attributed due to position of authority, (4) a name others use to call one,(5) a hereditary form of address, (6) paraban ‘a name given due to intimacy’, (7)poyokan ‘a derogatory or mocking name’, (8) a profession, (9) a doer of an act, (10)an expression of fondness, (11) an expression of being proud of one, (12) anexpression of friendship, (13) an expression of displeasure, annoyance, or anger,(14) an expression in self-introduction, (15) an expression for peprenahan/mbasakke ‘showing how one is related to the other by blood, age, etc.’, (16) anexpression related to where one dwells, (17) an expression related to position ofauthority, (18) an expression in honoring, (19) an expression used due to marriage:adult name, husband’s name, name of first child, (20) a form of address used whenaddressing a god, goddess, or God, (21) a form of address for the wife of a king,(22) a form of address of zero nature, (23) an expression of cursing, (24) a form ofaddress of specific nature, (25) a noun plus mu, e, or ne, (26) a noun, (27) a nounplus ku, (28) a form of address related to religion, (29) a form of address related tokinship plus e or ne, (30) a form of address used falsely/in playacting/pretence, and(31) a form address to point one out. In function, the form of address can be (1)honorific, i.e., to honor one, (2) to call out to one, (3) to call one with an attribute,(4) mbasakke ‘to show how one is related to the other by blood, age, etc., (5) tomock the other, (6) to show intimacy/to make intimate, (7) to show one’s place oforigin, (8) to introduce oneself, (9) to build a certain atmosphere, (10) to besarcastic, (11) to clarify one’s identity, (12) to be used falsely in dramatization orin a play or in pretence, and (13) to make a comic effect.Keywords: form of address, wayang kulit, system, type, function

Abstract

Salah satu genre naskah Jawa yaitu babad. Babad adalah sejarah tradisional Jawa. data penelitian ini adalah data kualitatif. Data kualitatif dalam penelitian ini berupa teks Babad Basuki dalam naskah Babad Basuki dan Bandawasa (BBB) koleksi PNRI dengan nomor koleksi KBG 333. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan naskah BBB KBG 333, meringkas cerita penaklukan wilayah dalam teks Babad Basuki, dan membuat peta penaklukan wilayah berdasarkan teks Babad Basuki. Metode yang digunakan adalah pembacaan secara heuristik dan hermeneutik. Wilayah-wilayah yang ditaklukkan Belanda dalam teks adalah Banger, Senthong, Lumajang, Penarukan, Blambangan, Nusa, Klathakan, dan Watu Ula. Teks disalin pada abad ke 19. Berdasarkan teks, daerah-daerah tersebut dulunya merupakan wilayah yang penting untuk ditaklukkan tetapi sekarang menjadi nama kabupaten, kecamatan, kelurahan atau dusun. Kata Kunci: Peta, Penaklukan, Babad Basuki. MAP OF CONQUEST OF THE EASTERN PART OF JAVA BY THE DUTCH BASED ON THE TEXT OF BABAD BASUKI ABSTRACTOne of Javanese manuscript’s genre is babad. Babad is a traditional Javanese history. This research’s data is qualitative data. Qualitative data in this research was Babad Basuki text in the Babad Basuki and Bandawasa (BBB) handscripts. This handscripts is PNRI collection with KBG 333 collection number. The purpose of this study were to describe the KBG 333 BBB manuscript, summarize the story of regional conquest in Babad Basuki text, and make map territorial conquests based on the text of Babad Basuki. The method used are heuristic and hermeneutic reading. The territories conquered by the Dutch in the text were Banger, Senthong, Lumajang, Penarukan, Blambangan, Nusa, Klathakan, and Watu Ula. The text was copied in the 19th century. Based on the text, these areas were once important areas to be conquered but now become names of town, district, village, and sub-village. Keywords: Peta, Conquest, Babad Basuki.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the factors causing the Javanese language use shift and the maintenance strategies and attempts. It employed the qualitative approach with a focus on the mapping of maintenance models in the Province of Yogyakarta Special Territory. The findings are as follows. First, the factors causing the shift include: (a) perceptions of the Javanese language, (b) complexity of societal life, (c) the number of Javanese speakers, and (d) the use of Javanese in the family. Second, the attempts made include: (a) the strengthening of the philosophy of the Javanese culture and language, (b) the Javanese language competitions and festivals, (c) the dissemination of moral values in Javanese expressions, (d) the development of Javanese performance arts, and (e) the use of Javanese in institutions. Third, the maintenance strategies include the uses of Javanese as: (a) a means of communication, (b) a factor uniting language and culture, (c) a local wisdom, (d) a local government’s policy, (e) a subject in education, (g) NGO activities,and (h) Javanese journalism.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) inventories Javanessee traditional food in Bantul traditional market, (2) describes the name of traditional food as offerings which is related with Javanesee philosophy in Javanessee tradition. It employed the survey technique, it used ethnolinguistic approach. The data sources were collected from 27 traditional markets in Bantul. There were 45 kinds of jajan pasar in traditional market in Bantul region. The food were made from cassava, rice, corn, and lour. The coocking techniques were fried, boiled, steam and roasted. There were food made from peanut and tuber. The food used for offerings were ketan, kolak, apem, jenang, peyek, kacang-kacangan, pala kependhem, jadah, wajik and lemper
