Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine students' reading comprehension skills before and after using the PQ4R learning model. This research was motivated by preliminary studies, which showed that students' reading comprehension skills are still low in conventional learning models. This is a quantitative research consisting of a one-group pretest-posttest research design. Data were obtained from 22 students of state elementary school 03 Sontas using a written test of 6 (six) questions. The research showed differences in students' reading comprehension skills before and after learning using the PQ4R model.

Abstract

The research purpose is to investigate and explore a solution of non-directed of mathematics problems presented visually or algebraic, and to embed the empirical verification thinking. The problems are from Researcher Repertoire, test item of Teacher Profession Education of National Indonesia, and Flanders Mathematics Olympiad. We analyze the students’ empirical verification thinking of their solutions, i.e. the trend of the thinking, model of representation, and completeness of the logical steps. The results are: the pattern of thinking tends to linear model or of meta-pattern, the description tends to be non-linear or varies of the solution, and the logical steps tend to be a non-recognizable form of thinking. Our recommendations are that the more visual representations need multiple representations, the algebraic thinking needs more the visual illustrations, and the visual images needed in solving mathematics problems.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Team Game Tournament(TGT)terhadap aktivitas belajar matematika dalam materi pecahan pada siswa kelas V SDN 12 Entikong.Metode penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen, menggunakan model Team Game Tournament(TGT),desain penelitian menggunakan Pre-Experimental Design, model Desain One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design.Hasil penelitian, dipeoleh dari rumus persentase dan uji normalitas serta uji hipotesis untuk mengetahui aktivitas belajar. Hitungan pretest pada kolom Ya 34,82% jika dijumlahkan sebesar 172. Hasil hitungan posttes kolom Tidak 65,18% jika dijumlahkan sebesar 322. Hasil hitungan pretest kolom Ya 39,88% jika dijumlahkan sebesar 197. Hasil hitungan posttest kolom Tidak 59,92% jika dijumlahkan sebesar 296. Berdasarkan hasil uji normalitas sebelum perlakuan yaitu X2hitung = 1.080,53 dan X2tabel = 37,65 lalu disimpulkan bahwa X2hitungX2tabel. Uji normalitas sesudah perlakuan yaitu X2hitung = 920, 94 dan X2tabel = 37,65 lalu disimpulkan bahwa X2hitungX2tabel. Kesimpulan uji normalitas yaitu data penelitia ini berdistribusi tidak normal.

Abstract

Proses pertukaran mata uang antara rupiah dan ringgit menurut pengamatan peneliti adalah suatu masalah yang harus diperhatikan dan cukup serius, karena sering terjadinya kerugian masyarakat atas jual beli yang terjadi. Dikarenakan kurang mahirnya masyarakat di dalam penguasaan konsep pemecahan masalah matematika pada aritmatika sosial membuat kejadian ini sangat rentan akan terjadi. Terlebih anak-anak yang ikut serta melakukan perdagangan. Untuk itu peneliti melakukan penelitian di desa Suruh Tembawang dengan tujuan untuk melihat kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas III di SDN No.05 Suruh Tembawang. Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian survei dengan jenis penelitian survei catatan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari keempat tahapan kemampuan pemecahan masalah menurut teori Polya, terdapat dua tahap yang muncul didalam pemecahan masalah yang dilakukannya. Tahapan tersebut adalah tahap memahami dan tahap melaksanakan rancangan solusi dari masalah yang disajikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dan pemecahan masalah siswa SMP dalam menyelesaikan soal himpunan, kemampuan yang diharapkan dkuasai oleh siswa yakni kemampuan menyelesaikan soal matematika dengan baik dan benar. Analisis data ini menggunakan tahapan penyelesaian masalah menurut Polya (1973;5), yaitu memahami suatu masalah, menyusun rencana penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian dan memeriksa kembali prosedur dan hasil penyelesaian dan indikator berpikir tingkat tinggi yaitu 1) menganalisis, 2) mengevaluasi, 3) mencipta. Subjek penelitian ini adalah SMP Negeri 3 Sintang kelas VIII B terdiri dari 24 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal tes HOTS dan wawancara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Berdasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa terbanyak pada indikator dari berpikir tingkat tinggi yaitu mengevaluasi dan mencipta dan indikator pemecahan masalah yaitu memahami masalah. Siswa tidak bisa memahami soal pada materi himpunan. Pada indikator membuat model matematika, memilih strategi penyelesaiaan, menyelesaikan masalah, dan memeriksa kembali hasil jawaban hanya sebagian siswa yang dapat mengerjakan pada tahap ini.

Abstract

The background of this research is based on direct observation and recap of Indonesian students grades. Known students are weak in reading comprehension, like not being able to write information in reading. The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of the PQ4R strategy on students reading comprehension. Research methods using experimental research. The study was conducted for two days. The number of subjects was 22 students consisting of 8 boys and 14 girls. Data collection was carried out by means of tests in the form of essays totaling 6 items. The results of the study are seen from the average total overall students grade. The first day of the pretest activity scored a value of 50,63 while the second day of the posttest activity scored a value of 58,72. It is known that the first day seen from KKM which is 70 all the grades of students under the KKM then obtained 0% for students who graduate. Then the second day the percentage increased to 14% because there were 3 students out of 22 students who scored above the KKM. Thus it was stated that the PQ4R strategy had an influence although it was not large. Based on the value of the regression coefficients on the output in the coefficients table is sought using the linear regression equation it is know that the regression coefficients value is positive (+), then it can be said that posttest (X) has a positive effect on pretest (Y). So the regression equation is Y = 0,544 X + 18,689.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the response can affect the understanding of the concept of fractions (regular and mixed) students of class VII MTs. Istiqomah Entikong. The type of research used is a quantitative approach with the type of research being experimental, using Pre-Experimental Designs (Nondesigns) with a design type, namely One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design which is only carried out in one group without any comparison group.Sourced from the average pretest result was 67.722 and posttest was 79.11. Based on calculations using the t test, it is obtained that t count 0.168 is more than t table 1.859, Ha is accepted and H¬O is rejected, meaning that this research shows that response is able to influence and foster understanding of the concept of fractions.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pada masa covid-19 sekolah menerapkan proses pembelajaran dengan metode pembelajaran jarak jauh. Dalam pelajaran matematika kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan hal yang penting. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang dimiliki siswa selama menggunakan metode pembelajaran jarak jauh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dimana pengumpulan data-datanya dilakukan dengan tes dan dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemanpuan siswa dalam memahami masalah berada pada kriteria kurang sekali karena siswa tidak dapat menulis hal yang diketahui dan ditanyakan dari soal. Kemampuan tahap membuat rencana berada pada kriteria kurang sekali karena siswa tidak membuat rencana apapun untuk menyelesaikan masalah. Kemampuan tahap melaksanakan pemecahan berada pada kriteria kurang sekali karena siswa tidak melakukan perhitungan. Kemampuan siswa pada tahap memeriksa kembali berada pada kriteria kurang sekali karena siswa tidak melakukan pengkajian kembali terhadap setiap langkah pemecahan masalah dan tidak dapat menyimpulkan hasil yang diperoleh. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah, Metode Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh, Covid-19.   Abstract : The background of this research was during the Covid-19 period, schools implemented a learning process using distance learning methods. The ability that must be possessed by students in mathematics is problem solving ability. The purpose of this study was to determine the problem solving skills possessed by students while using the distance learning method. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method where the data collection is done by tests and documentation. The subjects in this study showed that students' ability to understand the problem was at very low criteria because students could not write down what was known and what was asked of the questions. The ability to make plans is at very low criteria because students do not make any plans to solve problems. The ability to carry out the solving stage is at very low criteria because students do not do calculations. The ability of students at the re-examining stage was at very low criteria because students did not review each step of problem solving and could not conclude the results obtained. Keywords: Problem Solving Ability, Distance Learning Methods, Covid-19.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar IPA siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS). Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Siswa yang menjadi subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 31 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes. Data kemudian dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar IPA siswa di tahap pra siklus memiliki rata-rata 31,5 dengan nilai tertinggi 75 dan nilai terendah 20. Setelah diberi tindakan siklus I mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata menjadi 36,5, nilai tertinggi 80, dan nilai terendah 35. Pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan lagi dengan rata-rata menjadi 41,25, nilai tertinggi 84, dan nilai terendah 45. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 1 Entikong.Kata Kunci: Think Pair Share; Hasil Belajar; IPA Implementation of the Cooperative Learning Model of the Think Pair Share Type to Improve Science Learning Outcomes for Junior High School StudentsABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the increase in students' science learning outcomes through the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model. This type of research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). Students who became the subject of this study amounted to 31 people. Data collection techniques used observation and test. The data were then analyzed quantitatively. The results showed that students' science learning outcomes in the pre-cycle stage had an average of 31.5 with the highest score of 75 and the lowest score of 20. After being given the action in cycle I, it increased with an average of 36.5, the highest score of 80, and the the lowest score of 35. In cycle II, it increased again with an average of 41.25, the highest score of 84, and the lowest score of 45. This showed that the TPS type cooperative learning model can improve science learning outcomes for class VIII A students of SMP Negeri 1 Entikong.

Abstract

Phonology interference is a problem in a bilingual or multilingual societies, one of them is Gun Tembawang people. Some utterances of Gun Tembawang people are incorrect in spelling certain letter. Whereas the aim of this research is to analysis phonology interference on spelling letter /s/ to be /c/ in a word cucah, /c/ to be /s/ in a word sukup, /l/ to be /r/ in a word karau, /f/ to be /p/ in a word hurup. It used a descriptive method and the kind of the research was qualitative. Moreover, it analysed by some steps, they were the data collecting, the reduction, discussing, and conclusion. The result of this research shows that the interference which happens in Gun Tembawang is dynamically, it means that the interference is temporary and by accident. It is not included in the system of Gun Tembawang dialect. Besides that, the interference happens to these couple of the letters caused by the same of wind stream blowing that is producing as the letter is connected to the next letter. For instance, the letter /s/ and /c/ are not the homogran but the interference happens when the letter /c/ is combined to /u/ in a word cucah, it will produce the wind stream blowing that same to the letter /s/ producing. The same case with the letter of /c/ and /l/. The difference matter to the interference of letter /f/. The interference caused by there is no letter /f/ in Gun Tembawang dialect so that they tend to pronounce /p/ for the words which consist of letter /f/.
