Abstract

This study aimed to ascertain measures to enhance teachers' ability to teach online during the covid 19 pandemic. Action research is the research approach used in this type of research. The research was qualitative, describing the efforts to improve teachers' abilities to incorporate online learning into the teaching and learning process. This study was conducted at the MGMP for geography teachers at the senior high school and vocational high school level in Aceh Tamiang Regency. This study shows that teachers' competency in online learning is increasing, with the first cycle having a value of 0.45 per cent and the second cycle having a value of 0.80 per cent; hence, the two cycles predict growth in instructors using online learning in the future. Teachers can utilize a variety of technology-based online learning platforms, including Google Classroom, Edmodo, Quizizz, and Schoology.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility and practicality test of the science literacy-based practicum module for science learning at SMA Muhammadiyah Kota Langsa. The research method used is education development (Education Research and Development) to determine the quality or feasibility of the module as a practical guide. This practicum module is analyzed the feasibility test by material and media experts consisting of biology and physics education lecturers, while the practicality test uses a questionnaire distributed by science subject teachers. The results showed that the IPA practicum module products analyzed consisted of four categories with a percentage value of 54.99% content feasibility, 60.00% language value, 48.33% presentation value and 66.66% graphics value. Furthermore, a practicality test was carried out which consisted of three aspects, namely the content aspect of 82.85%, the process of the value of 77.14% and the context of the value of 54.28. Based on the values obtained, the science practicum module is feasible and practical to use as a practicum guide.

Abstract

Piper betle Linn or betel is a plant that is known to have antiseptic properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of betel leaf extract (Piper betle Linn.) On Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. The method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design experimental design (CRD) using 2 methods, namely reflux and maceration methods, respectively. Each concentration of betel leaf extract (Piper betle L) which consists of one factor, namely the concentration of betel leaf extract (Piper betle L) with a variable factor level of betel leaf extract preparations of six treatments, positive, negative control and treatment 1%, 2%, 4% and 8%. By using betel leaf extract, 70% Methanol, distilled water and antibiotics. The results of the study the value of 1.650> 0.

Abstract

Basic Biology subjects are integrated between theory and practicum. Practical learning is an essential way that teachers can take to improve students' science process skills, so a valid instrument is needed to measure it. The objective of this study is to produce a valid performance assessment instrument in practical learning; a student worksheet in practical learning; the improvement of science process skills; and teacher response. The type of research is referring to model of 4-D. The subject of research is composed of the students in the odd semester academic year 2021-2022 at SMA Muhammadiyah Langsa. Instruments of research consist of validation sheet, student worksheet, observation sheet, questionnaire. The findings show validity score is 84% (good category); student worksheet in practical learning is 43% (very good category); there is the improvement of students science process skills before and after the practical learning, which shows by N-gain value of 0.64% (high category); and teacher response to developed performance assessment instrument is 83% (very practical category).

Abstract

Good digestive system will produce a good immune system. A good immune system is needed to prevent the Covid-19 infection. Kefir is a probiotic drink which beneficial for the digestive system. Partners of the activities are PKK women in Sidorejo Village, Kota Langsa. The method consists of three stages; preparation, education and production, and product harvesting. The result of the preparation stage is the delivery of the purpose of activities and agreement of timing of the activity. At the education stage, team explained the benefits of kefir milk for health as well as promising business opportunities, then continued with training of kefir production consists of milk sterilization, starter inoculation, and fermentation. The product is harvested after fermented for 2 x 24 hours. The results obtained good and uncontaminated kefir milk products, which indicates that the PKK women in Sidorejo Village, Kota Langsa has succeeded in making kefir milk products.

Abstract

Kelas Biologi yang baik selalu dimulai dari pertanyaan yang membangkitkan rasa ingin tahu dan menstimulasi siswa berpikir, oleh karena itu kemampuan mengajukan pertanyaan yang berkualitas adalah elemen yang wajib dikuasai oleh seorang pendidik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendiagnostik profil kualitas pertanyaan mahasiswa calon guru Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Samudra dalam konteks High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) sehingga dapat memberi masukan bagi perbaikan dan peningkatan keterampilan dasar mengajar mahasiswa calon guru, khususnya keterampilan bertanya. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 48 mahasiswa  yang mengambil mata kuliah Bioteknologi di semester 4 dan belum mendapatkan mata kuliah microteaching. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif.  Tehnik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mendokumentasikan pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang diajukan mahasiswa calon guru dalam mata kuliah Bioteknologi yang berjumlah  164 pertanyaan. Analisis data kualitas pertanyaan menggunakan instrument matriks taksonomi Bloom edisi revisi Anderson dan Karthwohl. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 80% pertanyaan masih berada dalam level Low Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) dengan akumulasi C1 26%, C2 38%, dan C3 16%. Sementara 20% pertanyaan tergolong dalam High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dengan akumulasi C4 19% dan C5 1%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pertanyaan mahasiswa calon guru masih berada pada level berpikir tingkat rendah

Abstract

Desa sukaramai Dua berada terletak pada kabupaten Aceh Tamiang kecamatan sernway, daerah Kecamatan  Seruway pada kampung  Sukaramai Dua ini merupakan  kawasan pinggiran yang memiliki jumlah penduduk pada tahun 2018 berjumlah 2.776 jiwa dan 828 Kepala keluarga. Selain berternak sapi masyarakat sukarami dua juga memiliki komoditi perternakan ikan nila Oreochromis niloticus. Ikan nila Oreochromis nilaticus  adalah salah satu ikan air tawar yang banyak dibudidayakan karena mudah beradaptasi dengan lingkungan yang kurang menguntungkan dan mudah dipijahkan, sehingga penyebarannya di alam sangat luas. Kandungan gizi pada ikan nila sangat lengkap. Ikan nila ini mempunyai kandungan protein yang sangat banyak namun rendah lemak dan kalorinya. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra dari kesepakatan tim pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat solusi yang ditawarkan adalah (1) Sosialisasi aplikasi Branhionus Plicatilis pada Larva Nila Nila Oreochromis Niloticus pada Kelompok mekar Jaya Desa Sukaramai Dua Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang (2) Pelatihan teknik mengkultur pakan alami makanan ikan nila. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi empat tahapan utama, yaitu survey lapangan, tahap dua sosialisasi, tahap tiga pelatihan, dan tahap empat pendampingan untuk memonitoring, serta mengevaluasi perkembangan hasil kegiatan untuk keberlanjutan program PKM di desa tersebut. Sehingga diharapkanaplikasi Branhionus Plicatilis pada Larva Nila Nila Oreochromis Niloticus.Hasil yang diharapkan adalah Masyarakat Petani Mekar Jaya dapat mengembang biakkan bibit larva untuk digunakan sebagai pakan ikan nila.

Abstract

Paphiopedilum primulinum is one of endemic orchids in Gayo, Aceh, Indonesia. This terrestrial orchid is registered as endangered species due to IUCN. The low availability of this orchids in nature is due to habitat lost, over-collection for commercial purpose, and low seed germination rate which affected by unidentified factors, yet the study of propagating this orchid is rarely discussed. This experimental research is aim to see the effect of coconut water (CW) concentration to P. primulinum seed germination and development through in vitro culture. The sample of the study used the seed of P. primulinum which age 14 weeks after pollination. The research use ½ Murashige and Skoog media (MS) with four different coconut water (CW) concentration (0,10%, 20%, 30%) and incubated for 90 days. The seed germination rate is calculated due to the percentage of its total germinate seed and seed development indicator divided into 5 stages (0-5). The result shows that the seed of Paphiopedilum primulinum germinate best at 30% CW concentration and only in this concentration the seedling stage reach stage 5 (4.8%). This result implies that 30% CW concentration in ½ MS medium is the best medium to germinate this seed.
