Abstract

ABSTRACTThe study was conducted to find out the effect of fed commercial ration substituted soybean shell meal (SSM) on native chickens carcass and non carcass weight and percentage. Sixteen native chicken aged 7 weeks and was treatmented T0 (0% SSM), T1 (10% SSM), T2 (20% SSM) and T3 (30% SSM) each. 4 chickens. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD). Data obtained were analyzed using a analysis of variance (ANOVA) and then was continued with Duncans multiple range test (DMRT). Results of the study showed that slaughter weights (SW, g/chicken) are highest 529.0 (T2) followed with 484.0 (T3), 452 (T1) and lowest 402.0 (T0). Carcass Weights (CW, g/chicken) are highers 421.50 (T2), followed with 370.75 (T3), 331.50 (T1) and lowest 285.50 (T0). Carcass percentages (CP, %) are highest 76.69 (T2), 76.64 (T3) followed with 73.39 (T1), 71.42 (T0). Non carcass weights (NCW, g/chicken) 116.50-113.25 (T0-T3) and non carcass  percentage (NCP, %) are highest 26.68 (T1), 25.58 (T0), 23.36 (T3) and lowest 20.31 (T2). Gizzard weights (GW, g/chicken) are 14.00 (T0), 18.00 (T1), 17.50 (T2) and 14.50 (T3). Gizzard percentages (GP, %) are 3.71 (T0), 3.99 (T1), 3.31 (T2) and 3.00 (T3). Liver weights (LW, g/chicken) are 12.00 (T0), 13.50 (T1), 15.00 (T2) and 12.00 (T3). Liver percentages (LP, %) are 2,98 (T0), 2,97 (T1), 2.85 (T2) and 2.48 (T3). Heart weights (HW, g/chicken) was 2.00 (T0), 2.00 (T1), 2.50 (T2) and 2.00 (T3). Heart percentages (HP,%) are 0.50 (T0), 0.45 (T1), 0,47 (T2) and 0.42 (T3). The conclusion of the study that fed commercial ration substituted soybean shell meal improved carcass performa but non significantly influence non carcass (viscera) performance native chicken.  Key words: soybean, shell meal, carcass, non-carcass, viscera, native chicken

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh umur potong terhadap bobot akhir dan bobot karkas ayam broiler. Sebanyak 96 ekor ayam yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Variabel yang diamati adalah bobot akhir, bobot karkas dan persentase karkas ayam broiler. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis berdasarkan analisis ragam. Jika perlakuan berbeda nyata dilakukan uji lanjut menggunakan uji beda nyata terkecil. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian perbedaan umur potong ayam broiler berpengaruh yang sangat nyata (p<0,01) terhadap bobot akhir, bobot karkas dan persentase karkas ayam broiler. Disimpulkan bahwa umur potong berpengaruh terhadap bobot akhir, bobot karkas dan persentase karkas ayam broiler. Kata kunci : Ayam broiler, umur potong, bobot akhir, bobot karkas, persentase karkas.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the growth and productivity of male bred Ettawa goats that are fed with different animal feeds. The study was conducted for 4 months, from January to April 2016, at the village of Ranomentaa in the sub district of Toari, Kolaka regency. The used involved 12 male bred Ettawa goats, aging between 4-6 months and placed in 12 individual cages. The study used the Complete Randomized Design with 3 treatments and 4 repetitions, including Treatment 1 (P1), P2 (50% of mulberry leaves, 50% of gliricidia leaves), and P3 (100% of gliricidia leaves). Parameters under observation in the study were increase of body weight (PBB), weight of slaughtered animal, weight and percentage of carcass, weight and percentage of non-carcass. Results of the study showed that the average of PBB of P3 (26.98 g/day) was significantly different (P<0.05) from P2 (22.83 g/day) and P1 (22.42 g/day), whereas P2 and P1 were not significantly different. This was in line with the average of slaughtered animal weight from the highest to the lowest, namely P3 (13.29 kg), P2 (11.21 kg), and P1 (10.37 kg), followed by the average of carcass weight which was significantly affected (P<0.05) by the treatment. The average of carcass weight was P1 (4.17 kg), P2 (4.42 kg), and P3 (5.38 kg), whereas the average of carcass percentage had no significant different (P<0.05) due to the treatment with the range of 38.43–39.43%. Similarly, the weight and percentage of non-carcass were within the range of 50.73–55.09%. Based on the results of this study, it could be concluded that while feeding goats with gliricidia and mulberry leaves had a significant effect on the increase of body weight, weight of slaughtered animal, and weight of carcass, it had no significant effect on carcass percentage, weight of non-carcass, and percentage of carcass.Keywords: gliricidia leaves, mulberry leaves, growth and productivity of male PE goats

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh interaksi antara penambahan ekstrak buah nenas dengan lama perebusan yang berbeda terhadap kualitas fisik dan organoleptik daging kuda. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan pola faktorial. Faktor pertama (A) adalah 30 menit lama perebusan (A1), 40 menit lama perebusan (A2) dan 50 menit lama perebusan (A3).  Faktor kedua (B) adalah 0% campuran eksrak nenas (B1), 5% (B2) dan 10% (B3). Masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Variabel yang diamati adalah kualitas fisik dan organoleptik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Interaksi antara penambahan ekstrak buah nenas dan waktu pemasakan tidak berpengaruh terhadap kualitas organoleptik (keempukan, tekstur, juiceness) dan kualitas fisik (susut masak, pH) akan tetapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap rasa dan aroma daging kuda. Ekstrak buah nenas secara mandiri berpengaruh nyata terhadap kualitas fisik( susut masak) dan kualitas organoleptik (keempukan, rasa, tekstur, juiceness) daging kuda dan waktu lama perebusan secara mandiri, berpengaruh nyata terhadap keempukan, juiceness dan susut masak daging kuda. Kata kunci : Nenas. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak laos (Alpinia galanga) terhadap komposisi kimia daging sapi bali. Penelitian ini menggunakan ekstrak laos dengan konsentrasi 20% dan 40% dengan lama simpan 6 jam. Penelitian terdiri atas 3 perlakuan (P0 = kontrol atau tanpa perlakuan, P1 = 20% ekstrak laos, P2 = 40% ekstrak laos) dengan 4 ulangan. Variabel yang diukur adalah kadar air, lemak, protein dan bahan anorganik (abu). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan rancangan Acak Lengkap dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Jujur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kadar air daging sapi Bali yang dilumuri ekstrak laos mengalami peningkatan yaitu 74,13 – 76,06 %, kadar protein mengalami penurunan berkisar antara 19,32 – 11,19%, kadar lemak mengalami peingkatan yaitu 5,51 – 5,95 %, dan kadar abu menurun yaitu 1,06 – 0,84 %. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelumuran ekstrak laos berpengaruh sangat nyata (p<0,01) terhadap kadar air, kadar abu, kadar protein daging sapi Bali dan berpengaruh tidak nyata (p<0,05) terhadap kadar lemak daging sapi Bali. Pelumuran ekstrak laos pada daging sapi Bali sebanyak 20% dan 40% dapat meningkatkan kadar air dan kadar lemak dan menurunkan kadar abu dan kadar protein. Kata kunci: Rimpang Laos, Daging sapi, Kadar air, Kadar Protein, Kadar lemak, Kadar abu

Abstract

This study aims to examine the different weighting and different types of commercial feeds on the growth of broiler chickens. The study was prepared based on Completely Randomized Design (RAL) of 4 x 3 and 3 replication factorial patterns. The first factor is Grouping Cut Off (600 - 1000 grams or ± 800 g, 1,100 - 1300 g or ± 1,200 grams, 1,400-1,700 or ± 1,600 grams, 1,800 - 2200 g or ± 2,000). The second factor is the type of commercial feed / ration from different factories (AB1, BP11 and P11). Parameters measured include: feed intake, drinking water consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion and final cutting weight. The results of this study indicate that the use of commercial BP-11 feed on various commercial broiler feed factors resulted in increased body weight, better feed conversion compared with AB-1 and P-1 feed types. While the cut weight factor significantly affect the consumption of feed as weight gain and cut weight. At the cut weight of 1100-1500 grams, the average feed conversion produced is the lowest that is 1.26 which indicates that this cut weight is most favorable with the smallest feed efficiency. Keywords:   cutting weight, commercial feed, growth, feed consumption, average daily gain, feed conversion, broiler chicken

Abstract

Pemeliharaan ternak kambing di Kabupaten Muna masih bersifat tradisional, dimana kambing dipelihara secara ekstensif, semi intensif dan intensif.Populasi kambing di Kabupaten Muna terbilang cukup besar dan tersebar luas dengan jenis kambing kacang. Tujuan Penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sistem pemeliharaan dan pertambahan populasi Kambing kacang di Kabupaten Muna. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 50 desa sebagai sampel yang tersebar pada 22 kecamatan menggunakan metode survey dengan jumlah  responden 124 orang menggunakan purposive sampling, yang merupakan peternak kambing kacang. Populasi kambing yang dipelihara peternak pada lokasi penelitian sebesar 1025 ekor atau 29.23 persen dari total populasi kambing di Kabupaten Muna pada tahun 2019. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan dengan sistem pemeliharaan ekstensif tradisional, dapat mendorong pertambahan populasi sebesar 1,69% dari total populasi dan atau mampu meningkatkan pertambahan populasi secara alami sebesar 55.02 persen dari total induk kambing kacang yang ada di  Kabupaten Muna. Dapat disimpulkan sistem pemeliharaan kambing kacang dikabupaten Muna masih didominasi sistem pemeliharaan ekstensif tradisional.

Abstract

Kecamatan Kolono Timur secara geografis terletak di bagian timur Kabupaten Konawe Selatan dan merupakan wilayah potensial sebagai pengembangan komoditas pertanian palawija dan peternakan. Jarak tempuh Desa Lambangi Kecamatan Kolono Timur dengan Ibu Kota Kabupaten ± 7 km, dan berjarak sekitar 75 km dari Kampus Universitas Halu Oleo di Kota Kendari. Mata pencaharian masyarakatnya selain beternak kambing adalah bertani palawija, hortikultura, dan perkebunan kakao serta kelapa dalam yang mempunyai beberapa kelompok tani-ternak. Selain kondisi topografi, keadaan iklim juga sangat mendukung daerah ini untuk pengembangan berbagai komoditi pertanian dan peternakan kambing. Selama tahun 2016 di Kecamatan Kolono Timur menunjukkan bahwa komoditas kelapa dari sub sektor perkebunan menempati produksi tertinggi, yaitu mencapai 1318 ton. Sedangkan tanaman pangan untuk komoditas jagung menempati posisi pertama dalam produksi 96 kwintal dan produktivitas mencapai 2 kwintal/ha dengan luas panen mencapai 48 ha. Jenis ternak yang dipelihara masyarakat di Kecamatan Kolono Timur meliputi ternak besar (sapi), ternak kecil (kambing), serta unggas. Populasi ternak kambing pada tahun 2016 berdasarkan data yang ada di kantor kecamatan hanya sekitar 288 ekor.Hasil yang telah dicapai pada kegiatan ini, yaitu adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman kelompok tani-ternak dalam pengembangan keberlanjutan usahanya dengan pemanfaatan hijauan pakan ternak berupa rumput odot dan pakan limbah pertanian (jerami jagung), peningkatan pengetahuan peternak tentang cara pembuatan kandang kambing yang ideal dan mengetahui manfaat pembuatan kandang serta cara pemenfaatan limbah kotoran ternak menjadi pupuk kompos dan introduksi pupuk kompos pada tanaman holtikultura yang diusahakan secara bersama-sama dengan ternak kambing yang dilakukan dengan pembuatan kebun demplot sistem pertanian terpadu. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan peternak tentang pembuatan pakan fermentasi hijauan dan pembuatan pakan pellet unggas (ayam kampung).

Abstract

The activity aims to provide Technical Guidance on Broiler Chicken Maintenance Management for Breeders in Puosu Jaya Village, Konda District. The problem experienced was the low knowledge of the farming community about how to manage chickens so that they can increase their productivity. Community service activities are carried out by implementing a chicken intensification technology package so that it was more profitable and develops in the community, especially the breeder community. The method of activity was carried out in preliminary activities, counseling and demonstrations as well as evaluation design. It can be concluded that the community really needs guidance in developing the potential of broiler farms that they have been working on, which has an impact on increasing income and developing chicken population.

Abstract

This technical guidance activity aims to teach how to process organic fertilizer based on cow dung which is mostly produced by the community's livestock, so that it can  reduce the cost of inorganic fertilizer and be more profitable. This activity was carried out in farmer groups in Morome and Alebo Villages, Konda District, South Konawe Regency. The method of activity is carried out by: (1) lectures and discussions on materials and methods of processing organic fertilizers, (2) demonstrations and guidance on the  selection of materials and processing of cow dung-based organic fertilizers, (3) packaging and marketing methods for livestock manure-based organic fertilizers. cow. The counseling material presented received a positive and satisfactory response from the participants. In general the participants wanted to adopt the training materials and were very active in the technical guidance. It was concluded that the participants were very interested in applying the guidance materials taught and producing them commercially. The participants hoped that their village would often be given agricultural and livestock guidance and counseling activities.
