Abstract

This study was aimed at investigating adaptive reasoning ability of junior high school students through the implementation of the creative problem solving model. This study employed a mixed-method approach using an embedded concurrent strategy. Thirty students were selected randomly as the sample from 180 Year 8 students, and six students were selected to be observed and further interviewed after the final test. The instruments used were a test and interview questions. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the students' ability between the pre-test and post-test. In addition, there was also an increase in the ability of the six students based on an adaptive reasoning rubric. The increase was more dominant for the first and fifth indicators while the increases of the second and fourth indicators varied. Some students were able to solve the problem based on the indicators, but it was incomplete due to miscalculation, and some students were lacking in the ability to find the pattern and drawing a correct conclusion as a result of the profound basic knowledge. In general, these results indicated that students were able to develop adaptive reasoning although the maximum score could not be achieved.The use of creative problem solving model to develop adaptive reasoning ability: Inductive, deductive and intuitive

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Penelitian kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses berpikir kreatif siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika berdasarkan model Wallas (1926). Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 6 siswa kelas VII, masing-masing dua siswa memiliki kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses berpikir kreatif siswa kategori tinggi yaitu siswa memahami permasalahan dan informasi yang diberikan dengan menuliskan apa yang diketahui maupun yang ditanyakan (persiapan), siswa tidak membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk memikirkan solusi dari permasalahan yang dihadapi dengan mengingat soal yang sudah diajarkan (inkubasi), siswa mendapatkan ide untuk memecahkan masalah (Iluminasi), dan siswa menguji ide dan memeriksa kembali pemecahan masalah sebelum mengambil kesimpulan yang tepat (verifikasi). Proses berpikir kreatif siswa kategori sedang yaitu siswa mencoba untuk memahami permasalahan akan tetapi kurang memahami informasi atau petunjuk yang diberikan (persiapan), siswa diam megingat kembali rumus yang digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah (Inkubasi), siswa menghasilkan ide berdasarkan pemahamannya terhadap soal untuk memecahkan masalah (Iluminasi), dan siswa menguji ide dihasilkan dan tidak memeriksa kembali proses pemecahan masalah (verifikasi). Proses berpikir kreatif siswa kategori rendah yaitu siswa tidak memahami permasalahan dan informasi yang diberikan (persiapan), siswa membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk memikirkan solusi dari permasalahan (Inkubasi), siswa gagal dalam menemukan ide untuk memecahkan permasalahan (Iluminasi), dan siswa menguji ide yang dihasilkan dan tidak memeriksa kembali jawaban yang telah diujikan (verifikasi). Kata kunci: Berpikir Kreatif; Model Wallas; Pemecahan Masalah; Kemampuan Siswa [English]: This qualitative research aims at getting insight on students’ creative thinking in solving mathematics problems based on Wallas’ model (1926). The subjects are six students in 7th grade, each two students respectively have high, medium and low mathematics ability. Data is collected through test and interview. This research shows that the students in high category can understand the problem and given information by writing what is known and asked (preparation), can easily think the solution of the problem by remembering the previous problem (incubation), get the ideas to solve the problem (illumination), and examine the ideas and re-check the solution before drawing the proper conclusion (verification). The students in medium category try to understand the problem but they are less in understanding the given information or hint (preparation), remember the formula to solve the problem (incubation), generate the ideas from their understanding to solve the problem (illumination), and examine the ideas and do not check the solution again (verification). For students in low category, they do not understand the problem and the given information (preparation), have a while to think the solution (incubation), fail to find any ideas to solve the problem (illumination), and examine the generated ideas and do not re-check the solution (verification). Abstract

Students’ creativity and self-efficacy in solving mathematical problems remain low. Students with Field Dependent (FD) and Field Independent (FI) cognitive styleshave different creativity and self-efficacy. One learning model that is believed to increase students' creativity and self-efficacyis Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study aimed to increase the creativity and self-efficacyof FD and FI students through the application of PBLmodel. This research is an experimental study with pre-test and post-test control group design.The population of this research was grade VIII students in State Islamic School (MTsN) 1 Banda Aceh,while the sample consisted of two classes out of 11 classes. The sampling technique usedrandom samplingwith one experimental class and one control class. Data collection was carried out by using two instruments; a paper-test to measure students’ creativity and a questionnaire to measure students’self-efficacy. The grouping of FD and FI students was based on the results of the Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT). Furthermore, a paired t-test was conducted to obtain an increase in students' creativity and self-efficacy. At the same time, a correlation test was performed to see the relationship between creativity and the self-efficacy ofstudents. The results of the study revealed that the increase of FD and FI students’ creativity who were taught by the PBL model was better than students taught by conventional methods. The results also reported that the increase of FD and FI students’ self-efficacy who were taught with the PBL model was better than the students who were taught with conventional methods. In addition, there was a significant relationship between FI and FD students' creativity and self-efficacy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine teacher efforts to improve students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the Problem Based Learning model. This research is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 28 students of class VII-1 SMP Negeri 2 Siantan, Anambas Islands Regency. The research instrument used was the teacher's observation sheet and the mathematical reasoning ability test. Data collection is done through observation and tests. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively and described in a descriptive form. The results obtained are the mathematical reasoning ability of students in the first cycle of 2.27 and the second cycle of 2.83. Based on the results of the study showed that the efforts of teachers made in the second cycle were better than the first cycle, so that an increase in students' mathematical reasoning abilities in the second cycle was in the good category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the improvement of students' creative thinking skills by implementing STEMC-based project-based learning. This study consisted of 52 students of class X science at SMAN 3 Langsa. Creative thinking ability was assessed through pretest-posttest which was tested using statistically paired sample t-test and N-gain test. The results of the study stated that the application of the STEMC-based PjBL model on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte materials had increased creative thinking skills at a significant level of 0.000, indicating a sig value <0.05 and the results of the N-gain calculation were 0.8 in the high category. The results of the analysis showed that there were differences in the improvement of creative thinking skills before and after the application of the STEMC-based PjBL model. The results of the N-gain of each indicator of creative thinking ability, namely 0.47 elaboration are classified in the medium category, while flexibility, fluency and originality with N-gain results of 0.97, 0.87, and 0.8 are classified in the high category

Abstract

Sleep is an unconscious state that can be awakened by giving sensory stimulation or by other stimuli. This research method refers to the development steps of Borg & Gall, this is only limited to a preliminary study (concept). Sleep functions to give the brain time to repair biochemical or physiological processes that progressively decrease when awake. The regulation of sleep cycles is centered on two specific areas in the brainstem. Sleep quality is a person's ability to maintain sleep to get the appropriate amount of NREM sleep and REM sleep. Sleep quality is a subjective description of one's sleep satisfaction. Adequate and quality sleep can be the foundation of how a person can live a healthy life by following the Prophet's way of sleeping is to tilt the body to the right, while praying to Allah until the eyes feel heavy and through audio, it is like listening to verses from the Al-Quran.

Abstract

This study aims to create a virtual lab in science-physics learning based on a valid, practical, and effective STEM-based virtual lab for junior high school students. The research was conducted using Research and Development.The research was conducted at SMP Negeri Unggul Tunas Nusa (junior high school). This research was carried out in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The subjects used in this study were students of class VII Tusa at SMPN Unggul Tunas Nusa in the academic year 2021/2022, totaling 29 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. Based on the analysis, the average percentage assessment of all aspects is 87.89%, meaning the STEM-based virtual lab product is very feasible. The STEM-based virtual lab is assessed for teachers' and students' use. Practical criteria for teachers and students. The pretest means of student learning outcomes scored 24.57, while the posttest means after being applied to a STEM-based virtual lab scored 84.45. The average score of N-gain student learning outcomes is 0.80, which is high and able to improve student learning outcomes.The results of this study are expected to be used as an alternative for a teacher to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh model pembelajaran guided discovery terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi gelombang. Ketidakmampuan peserta didik memahami konsep fisika dengan baik dipengaruhi oleh lemahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi-eksperimen dengan desain jenis pre-test post-test control group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini peserta didik kelas XIMIA2(kelompok eksperimen) dan XIMIA3(kelompok kontrol) di MAN Rukoh Banda Aceh pada tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling dengan mengambil dua kelas secara sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen, pengumpulan data menggunakan instruments soal uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran yang diajarkan dengan penerapan model guided discovery lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Penerapan model pembelajaran guided discovery dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

Abstract

Fenomena kebumian dan antariksa adalah sumber inspirasi besar untuk pendidikan. Memahami bencana dan mempersiapkan diri sangat penting dalam menghadapi situasi darurat. Literasi kebencanaan memberikan pemahaman tentang risiko bencana, langkah-langkah persiapan, dan tindakan yang harus diambil ketika bencana terjadi. Penanaman sikap spiritual dapat memberikan ketenangan dan kekuatan batin yang dibutuhkan dalam menghadapi krisis. Pengembangan pola pikir spiritual dapat memberi orang ketenangan batin dan kekuatan yang mereka butuhkan ketika menghadapi bencana. penelitian ini  bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan mahasiswa terhadap penanaman sikap spiritual dalam peningkatan literasi kebencanaan melalui fenomena kebumian dan antariksa. Kebutuhan ini termasuk salah satu kegiatan dalam perkuliahan IPBA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif eksploratif dengan subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan fisika semester 4. Data penelitian diperoleh dari kegiatan observasi awal dan pengisian angket kebutuhan terhadap penanaman sikap spiritual yang diinginkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa membutuhkan penanaman sikap spiritual dalam perkuliahan IPBA sehingga dengan adanya penanaman sikap spiritual akan meningkatkan literasi kebencanaan. Mahasiswa membutuhkan sajian fenomena kebumian dan antariksa untuk penanaman sikap spiritual  dan peningkatan literasi kebencanaan.

Abstract

Shalat adalah aktifitas fisik yang memiliki gerakan yang sangat kompleks sehingga jika dilakukan secara benar dan teratur maka akan bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kesehatan. Hasil penelitian yang kami lakukan menunjukkan bahwa tidak banyak orang muslim yang tahu bahwa shalat bermanfaat untuk kesehatan, dengan demikian kami berupaya untuk memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang manfaat tahajjud dalam mengontrol tekanan darah. Aceh sebagai salah satu daerah yang menerapkan syariat Islam sudah sepatutnya menggalakkan masyarakatnya gemar untuk shalat tahajjud secara teratur sehingga akan membantu upaya menurunkan risiko hipertensi pada usia muda. Metode kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan adalah memberikan kuesioner untuk mengetahui pengetahuan masyarakat tentang tahajjud, melakukan pemeriksaan tekanan darah, dan memberikan edukasi tentang tahajjud sebagai aktifitas fisik untuk preventif hipertensi. Kegiatan ini dilakukan terhadap 30 orang pria (n=14) dan wanita (n=16), usia 18-21 tahun, dan beragama Islam. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini: sebanyak 33,33% dari partisipan memiliki tekanan darah diatas normal, 63,33% partisipan melakukan tahajjud, namun yang tahajjud teratur hanya sekitar 16,67%, dan partisipan yang mengetahui bahwa tahajjud bermanfaat untuk kesehatan adalah berjumlah 16,67%. Kesimpulannya adalah tahajjud yang dilakukan secara teratur akan dapat mengontrol tekanan darah sehingga akan mengurangi resiko terjadinya hipertensi pada usia muda. Disarankan agar masyarakat terutama kaum muda untuk menggalakkan salat tahajjud untuk meningkatkan kesehatan khususnya unutk mengontrol tekanan darah sehingga dapat menurunkan resiko hipertensi.
