Abstract

Bogor Agricultural University is a university that has a great mission about entrepreneurial skill of its students to solve the unemployed problems in Indonesia. The aims of this research are to identify the individual characteristics, to analyze entrepreneurial behavior, and to analyze the correlation between the characteristics and the entrepreneurial behavior of Bogor Agricultural University students who are participated in Student Creativity Program of Entrepreneur and Student Entrepreneur Development Program. The tools to get this aims is Spearman and Chi Square Test which used to see the correlation between the characteristics and the entrepreneurial behavior. Total respondents are 25 which all of the Bogor Agricultural University students who are participated in Student Creativity Program of Entrepreneur and Student Entrepreneur Development Program are taken. The results showed that entrepreneurship knowledge (96 percent very high), the attitude of entrepreneurs (64 percent higher) and entrepreneurial action (84 percent very high) classified as a superior student entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial behavior is influenced by the students father job (p 0.039 to action), mothers work (p 0.071 to action), tribe (p 0.001 to action), participation in the seminar or training entrepreneurship (p 0.010), and taking courses entrepreneurship (p 0.195). These results provide some recommendations for developing agri-entrepreneurship human resources in Indonesia.

Abstract

Bangka Belitung Islands Province, known as a producer of white pepper in the international market with the name of muntok white pepper. One of the efforts to increase productivity is through the use of white pepper seeds. The most used seeds by farmers are varieties Petaling 1, LDK and Merapen. The farmers’ attitude to the selection of white pepper seeds is very important to know because they are the main agribusiness actors that will produce white pepper. The objectives of this research is to analyze the farmers’ attitude on the attributes of white pepper seeds. This research was involved 60 respondents of white pepper farmers. The analysis using fishbein multiattributes showed that the attitude of respondents prefer white pepper seed varieties Petaling 1 compared to Merapen and LDK varieties.                                                                                    Keywords: Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Fishbein Multiatribut and White Pepper Seeds

Abstract

The mismatch between the availability of vegetables and consumer demand is one of the causes of inefficient supply chains. This study aims to analyze the bullwhip effect on the organic leaf vegetable supply chain at PT Simply Fresh Organic (SFO). The analysis method used is a comparison between the coefficient of variation of orders created with the coefficient of variation in requests received by each supply chain institution. The data used are secondary data obtained from PT SFO. The measurement results show that the supply chain flow of organic leaf vegetables had a bullwhip effect at the PT SFO level and no bullwhip effect occurs at the retail level. The value of the BE supply chain value calculation at PT SFO shows a higher figure than at the retail level. The bullwhip effect at PT SFO occurred because of a rationing and shortage gaming policy. Therefore, each member of the supply chain must maintain transparency of data information and utilize digital technology to improve the accuracy of data forecasting requests and reservations quickly.

Abstract

Indonesia still requires approximately 4 million entrepreneurs to become a developed country. This research aimed at identifying and analyzing the factors forming the broiler farm entrepreneurial activities that contribute on generating new entrepreneurs in Indonesia. Primary data were collected through questionnaire and analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Independent latent variables were innovations (IN), productions (DP), competitiveness (DS), risks (PR), labors (TK), and policies (KP), and then entrepreneurial activities (AK) as dependent latent variable. The results showed that the model was built (MODEL1 as measurement model and MODEL2 as structural model) had goodness fit and good reliability measurement variables (CR≥0.70, VE≥0.50). Innovation was reflected by the level of willingness to innovate (λ=0.63) and level of technology (λ=0.62). Production was reflected by production efficiency (λ=0.62) and cost control (λ=0.43). Competitiveness was reflected by the internet (λ=0.56), the cost of starting (λ=0.55), and new business formation (λ=0.58). Labor was reflected by the training and development (λ=0.57), and motivation (λ=0.42). Policies was reflected by access to land (λ=0.56), technical assistance (λ=0.60), research and technology (λ=0.66), and copyright protection (λ=0.64). The entrepreneurial activity of broiler farms were formed by innovation (γ=0.91), competitiveness (γ=0.94), and policies (γ=0.98). Broiler farms contributed positively to generate new entrepreneurs. Production and information technology development program, facilitation of the creation of new ventures program, business expansion program, and a program of strengthening intellectual property rights on broiler farms should be a priority of the Indonesian government programs in the future.

Abstract

Indonesian native chickens consist of indigenous chickens and a chickens originated from abroad which adapted and grow in Indonesia. Based on 120 respondents who have been interviewed, there were seven types chicken commonly raised, namely: kampong, bangkok, arab, kate, pelung, gaga’, and birma. People commonly raised native chickens for religion, food, ornamental, and trading purposes. Six of those seven native chickens (86%) are reared for trading, five types (71%) for ornamental, and four types (57%) for egg and meat production purpose. Three types chicken (43%) were well-known had the benefits for eggs production. The religious category was the highest ICF value (1.00) followed by food (meat and eggs production) category with ICF value by 0.98. Arab chicken had the highest Fidelity Level (FL) value (70.96%) as egg and meat producer. Egg production of arab chicken reached 22.50 egg/period and it was the highest productivity of all experimental chickens. Average flock size per household was 11.31 with a population around 225 chickens/household. Kampong chicken was the most popular to be raised (79.16%) followed by bangkok (40.00%), kate (13.33%), gaga’ (10.00%), arab (8.33%), pelung (5.83%), and birma (3.33%). Abstract

ABSTRACTShallot is included in the category of high value commodities, so that many farmers cultivate it. Indonesia still remains as net importer of shallot. The objectives of this study were to analyze the competitiveness of shallot farming in the district of Majalengka. Respondents were 37 farmers selected by using purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed by the method of the Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM) to determine the level of profit and competitiveness. The result showed that shallot farming in the district of Majalengka was financially profitable, but economically unprofitable. The analysis of the competitiveness in the district of Majalengka showed the shallot farming have no competitiveness.Keywords: competitiveness, Policy Analysis Matrix, shallot farming ABSTRAKBawang merah termasuk dalam kategori komoditas bernilai tinggi, sehingga banyak petani yang mengusahakannya. Abstract

Kopi Arabika Gayo merupakan salah satu komoditi perdagangan subsektor perkebunan yang mempunyai peluang dalam rangka memperbesar pendapatan Negara dan meningkatkan penghasilan petani. Pengelolaan perkebunan kopi rakyat ini diusahakan masih secara tradisional. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi pola usahatani perkebunan secara tradisional yang selama ini dilakukan.Faktor kewirausahaan menentukan berhasil tidaknya petani dalam menyesuaikan perubahan lingkungan. Sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi karakteristik petani kopi Arabika Gayo, dan menganalisis pengaruh faktor karakteristik individu petani (internal factor) dan lingkungan bisnis (external factor) terhadap perilaku kewirausahaan petani kopi Arabika Gayo serta menganalisis pengaruh perilaku kewirausahaan terhadap perspektif kinerja usahatani kopi Arabika Gayo. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2015 hingga bulan Juni 2015 di Kabupaten Bener Meriah. Data yang digunakan diperoleh dari hasil wawancara menggunakan kuesioner. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 120 responden petani kopi Arabika Gayo yang dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode SEM dengan bantuan software LISREL 8.30. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik individu (internal factor) petani kopi Arabika Gayo secara umum yaitu rata-rata berada pada tingkat usia produktif, tingkat pendidikan formal mayoritas lulusan SMA, memiliki pengalaman yang cukup, usahatani kopi sebagai sumber mata pencaharian utama, memiliki modal yang terbatas dan luas lahan yang dimiliki rata-rata 0,5–1 hektar. Karakteristik individu (internal factor) petani kopi Arabika Gayo berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku kewirausahaan dengan nilai koefisien sebesar 0,20 dan nilai t-hitung sebesar 2,77 dan pengaruh lingkungan bisnis berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku kewirausahaan dengan nilai koefisien 0,75 dan nilai t-hitung 9,93, serta perilaku kewirausahaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perspektif kinerja usahatani kopi Arabika Gayo dengan koefisien pengaruh 0,98 dan t-hitung 16,91, maka dengan adanya peningkatan perilaku kewirausahaan akan meningkatkan perspektif kinerja usahatani kopi Arabika Gayo.
