Abstract

Abstract

Nosocomial infection is an infection originating from a hospital caused by hospital staff or health workers during the health service process or hospital visitors. The background of this research is the lack of role of nurses in the process of preventing nosocomial infections. The purpose of this study was to explain the role of nurses in preventing nosocomial infections at RSU Royal Prima. This type of research uses a qualitative approach method with in-depth interviews with informants in order to know clearly and in depth the role of nurses in preventing nosocomial infections at RSU Royal Prima. The results showed that nurses already know their role in terms of reporting to the doctor if there are signs and symptoms of infection and implementing isolation of infectious diseases and maintaining prevention while on duty at the hospital. However, there are still nurses who do not know their role optimally in terms of maintaining hospital cleanliness. In maintaining hand hygiene, nurses only know their role in terms of washing hands, the implementation is not in accordance with procedures. In using Personal Protective Equipment, nurses know their role in terms of wearing masks and gloves, but in practice there are still nurses who have not used Personal Protective Equipment according to standards. In addition, there are obstacles for nurses in preventing nosocomial infections such as inadequate infrastructure

Therefore, an internal verifier is needed to supervise claim verification so that problems with pending claims can be minimized. Internal verification doctors have an important task in reducing the number of pending claims, especially to control the suitability of coding with diagnoses on medical resumes. The aim of this research is to analyze and describe the contribution of internal verifier doctors in reducing pending claims as well as the factors that cause pending claims and claims coding errors. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. The research design used in this research is a descriptive research design. This research has sources as key informants, namely 4 internal verification doctors. This research also has sources as supporting informants, namely coder representatives. Abstract

Occupational health and safety in hospitals is influenced by Occupational Safety and Health Management System or what is often called SMK3 which functions to regulate occupational safety and health in an industry or building. This research aims to analyze the relationship between inhibiting factors and the implementation of the occupational health and safety management system at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital. This research is an analytical survey research using a cross sectional study design carried out in June 2023. The sample in this research is all medical personnel who work in Royal Prima Medan Hospital, namely 121 people. The sample size is determined using the total population formula. Data were analyzed using the chi square test and logistic regression. The research results show that there is a relationship between HR quality, HR workload, HR work environment, wage levels and the rate of addition of new workers with the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital. The most dominant variable related to the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital is the wage level. It is recommended to the hospital that the results of this research can be used as input to improve and develop the level of occupational health and safety, especially for hospital workers, which can also indirectly improve the quality of service and work productivity of the hospital

Abstract

Hypertension causes high morbidity (sickness) and mortality (death). Hypertension occurs as a result of interactions and various risk factors that a person has. Multiple studies have linked various risk factors to the emergence of hypertension. The research aims to determine the Essential Hypertension strategy through a risk factor approach at the Asy-Asyifa Clinic. The research design used was an analytical study with a case-control study design by selecting cases who suffered from essential hypertension and controls who did not suffer from essential hypertension. Primary data collection was carried out directly by researchers using research instruments in the form of questionnaires. In fact, the results of this study determined that age is related to the incidence of hypertension. The higher the age group, the more often the incidence of hypertension. The results of the Chi-Square statistical test with a value of p = 0.06 mean that there is a significant relationship between obesity and the incidence of hypertension. The results of the Chi-Square statistical test with a value of p = 0.048 mean that there is an essential relationship between people who smoke and the incidence of hypertension. In this study, there was no significant relationship with the Chi-Square statistical test with a value of p = 0.020, meaning that there was a meaningful relationship between people who consumed much salt and the incidence of hypertension. The variables influencing essential hypertension are obesity, salt consumption, and age. The dominant variable that influences essential hypertension at the Asy-Asyifa Clinic in Medan is the obesity variable. Regular exercise and a balanced diet are crucial to maintaining a healthy weight.

Abstract

Sea cucumbers are a marine source with biological activities that have been used in food as well as medicine in many Asian countries. Actinopyga mauritiana is one of the sea cucumber species with limited research about its bioactive activities. In this study, the wound healing activity of A. mauritiana extract in the form of cream, gel, and serum formulations in mice was investigated. The histopathology test was performed to evaluate the fibroblast and collagen dense levels in wound healing. Phytochemical screening has been carried out by the qualitative test of alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, steroids, and saponins compounds. The A. mauritiana ethanol extract (SCAE) was added into cream, gel and serum formulations with various concentrations (3, 6, and 9%) and applied to the wounded area of mice. The wound healing activities and histopathology results indicated that serum 9%-SCAE performed the highest decrease of wound length 0.55 ± 0.32 compared to other groups with a density level of fibroblast and collagen are 10.00 ± 1.00 and 10.67 ± 0.00, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the wound healing activity of A.Mauritiana, which demonstrated promising therapeutic agents for wound healing and cosmetics applications in the future.
