Abstract

Social emotional development of children is the development of behavior in children where children are asked to adjust to the rules that apply in the community. Thus, social-emotional development is one aspect of development that is very important for every child because this is one of the determining factors for their success in the future. This can be realized through the process of forming good social and spiritual emotions so that children will be able to develop their potential to the maximum. Thus, families need to pay attention to the process of child development so that it runs optimally. This research is a literature study. The purpose of this study is to explain; 1) the theory of social emotional development, 2) the factors that influence children's social emotional development, 3) the role of the family in the social emotional development of children, and 4) learning activities to optimize the social emotional development of children. The explanation of the four points discussed above will greatly assist parents and teachers in understanding and improving children's social emotional abilities.

Abstract

Individual who have motivation to learn are individuals who have an awareness off the abilities that are in him, and he is able to increase the motivation they have. Important learning motivation for student, so that learning is succesful in the learning process. Motivation to learn is one of them that is motivated by social interaction. This study is intended to discuss the social relations of student and student learning teacher at Adabiah High School Padang. This research is a descriptive correlational research with quantitative methods. Taking samples in this study using stratified random sampling with a total sample of 2019 students. The research instrumens used were questionnaires for social interaction and learning motivation. The result of the study revealed that (1) students and teacher social interaction in Adabiah Padang high school was in a good category, (2) studenst motivation in high school Adabiah Padang was in the high category, (3) there was a significant relationship between student’s and teacher’s social interactions with learning motivastion student’s in Adabiah Padang.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the number of students who consider lectures to be insignificant, leading to reduced learning motivation for students. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between educational aspirations and student motivation in the Tarbiyah IAIN Kerinci Faculty. This research is a descriptive correlational research with quantitative methods. The population of this study was students of Islamic Biology and Counseling Guidance at Tarbiyah Faculty of IAIN Kerinci. The total sample of 42 students was selected using the Purposive Random Sampling technique. The research instruments used were educational aspiration questionnaires and student learning motivation questionnaires. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical techniques and Pearson Product Moment techniques with the help of the SPSS For Windows 20.0 program. The results revealed that (1) student education aspirations were in the high category (2) student learning motivation was in the high category, and (3) there was a positive significant relationship between educational aspirations and student learning motivation with a correlation coefficient of 0.691 at the 0,000 significance level , if 0,000 <0,05 then Ha is accepted.

Abstract

Efforts to improve the quality of education continue to be carried out by the government, one form of this effort is the development and review of the curriculum so that it is under the times. Several factors underlie curriculum development, including philosophical, psychological, socio-cultural, political, state development and world development, and science and technology (IPTEK) foundations. The process of changing the curriculum in various countries cannot be adapted to the political conditions in that country, therefore the educational curriculum may change at any time according to the political conditions that affect the country concerned. This study aims to analyze and describe the influence of politics on curriculum development in the National Education System. This research is qualitative research using a literature study approach. Furthermore, data were collected through document study.

Abstract

Psychological symptoms, including loneliness, and tiredness of being unable to see friends, relatives, as well as co-workers, indefinitely, are one problem faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study, therefore, aims to evaluate the extent of loneliness felt during this period, particularly by students, using a descriptive quantitative method, based on the AF loneliness Scale (AFLS). The cross-sectional study was conducted between June 11 and July 29, 2020, through an online survey on Survey Monkey platform. A total of 504 Indonesians aged 12 to 27 years, from several provinces and regions in Indonesia, participated in this study. Subsequently, the data were analyzed using JASP (Jeffrey's Amazing Statistics Program). According to the results, there was a tendency for 49.40% and 33.47% of students to experience symptoms of loneliness in the medium and high categories, respectively. However, there are differences in the symptoms experienced by male and female students. Racial Batak students also experienced more loneliness, compared to other ethnic groups, for instance, Minang, Malay, and Chinese. In addition, students aged between 20 and 23 are more likely to feel loneliness. These findings are useful inputs for certain parties, including school counselors, to discover alternative solutions to help students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic overcome this feeling

Abstract

Abstract: Self-Concept Contribution to Adversity Qoutient on Overseas Students. This study aims to determine the contribution of self-concept to adversity quotient on overseas students in the Department of Psychology. The research design used is quantitative correlational. The sample in this study were as many as 103 overseas students who were selected using Purposive Sampling. This study uses a self-concept scale with a reliability value of 0.857 and an adversity qoutient scale with a reliability value of 0.980. Data analysis techniques in research using regression analysis is simple linear regressionanalysis. The results of the study found that there was a significant positive contribution between self-concept and adversity quotient on migrant students with (r) 0.506 and p = 0.000 (p <0.05). So that Ha proposed in this study was accepted. This study also shows that self-concept contributes to adversity quotient with R Square of 25.6%Keywords: Self Concept, AQ, Overseas StudentAbstrak: Kontribusi Konsep Diri terhadap Adversity Qoutient pada Mahasiswa Perantau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi konsep diri terhadap adversity quotient pada mahasiswa perantau di Jurusan Psikologi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif korelasional. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa perantau sebanyak 103 orang yang dipilih dengan menggunakan Purposive Sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala konsep diri dengan nilai reliabilitas sebesar 0,857 danskala adversity qoutient dengan nilai reliabilitas sebesar 0,980. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian dengan menggunakan analisis regresi yaitu analisis regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa terdapat kontribusi positif yang signifikan antara konsep diri terhadap adversity quotient pada mahasiswa perantau dengan (r) 0.506 dan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Sehingga Ha yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa konsep diri berkontribusi terhadap adversity quotient dengan R Square sebesar 25.6%.Kata kunci: Konsep Diri, AQ, Mahasiswa Perantau

Abstract

Social capital is directly linked to the phenomenon that occurs in the community. Multicultural counseling based on social capital can help with these issues. Social capital is a way of forming a strong link between people in order to establish a society. Social capital is divided into two categories: those that focus on the network of social contacts and those that focus on the inherent traits of individuals involved in social interactions. Multicultural counseling is still underserved in guidance and counseling services. One of the reasons why the service isn't up to par is because the counselor lacks certain talents, particularly when it comes to counseling approaches. As a result, a separate study on intercultural counseling is required. As a result, the author delivers a concept paper on multicultural counseling in a plural society in Indonesia based on social capital. After reviewing a variety of scientific sources, this manuscript was created. With this document, it is intended that counselors will be able to use it as a resource for implementing intercultural counseling based on social capital in Indonesia's plural society.

Abstract

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to motivate yourself, resolve the frustration, control the pressure, adjust mood, empathy and the ability to work in team. In fact, we found that there are still students who speak harshly to their friends, often cursing others and even there are students who easily get angry and tempered when their friends give a joke. One of the factors that influence it is interpersonal communication in their family. The purpose of this study is to: (1) describe students’  emotional intelligence, (2) describe interpersonal communication in their family, and (3) test the significance of the relationship of the interpersonal communication in the family with students emotional intelligence.  This research is a quantitative research with descriptive correlational type. The population of this study were 475 students of SMA Adabiah 2 Padang  and a sample in number of 219 students that is selected by Stratified Random Sampling method. The instruments which used were interpersonal communication  in students family and students' emotional intelligence questionnaires. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical techniques and Pearson Product Moment techniques. This research found  that: (1) the interpersonal communication in family was in a good category with its percentage is 77.54%, (2) students' emotional intelligence in the high category with its percentage is 77.48%, (3) there is a significant positive relationship between interpersonal communication in the family and students' emotional intelligence with a correlation coefficient is 0.578 and a significance level is 0.000. It can be concluded that there is a significantly positive relationship between interpersonal communication in family and students' emotional intelligence.Keywords: Interpersonal Communication, Family, Emotional Intelligence.

Abstract

Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) berbasis zonasi diterapkan di Kota Padang pertama kali pada tahun 2018/2019, sistem ini memberikan peluang 75% untuk calon siswa yang berada pada zona sekolah, 25% diambil berdasarkan nilai dan 5% untuk jalur khusus seperti mengikuti tugas orang tua sebagai pejabat negara. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji bagaimana pelaksanaan sistem zonasi penerimaan peserta didik baru di SMAN kota Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang dilakukan pada SMAN 1 dan SMA 12 Padang dengan pendekatan psikologis, adapun pengambilan datanya menggunakan wawancara, dokumen dan observasi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan PPDB zonasi di kota Padang terdapat 2 dampak positif lingkungan beragam akan menstimulasi murid, guru tetap kompeten dalam mengajar, menghemat tarif dan waktu lebih efesien-dan dampak negatif dari berbagai elemen anak tidak dapat masuk ke SMA Negeri meski nilainya bagus, siswa terbaik tidak dapat bersekolah di SMA Negeri karena berada pada wilayah blank spot, guru harus menghabiskan lebih banyak waktu untuk mengajar para siswa berprestasi rendah, kurang disiplin, perilaku siswa yang cenderung negatif akan mudah menular ke siswa yang lain. Sehingga dapat menjadi gambaran adanya kebijakan zonasi di samping dampak positif juga memberikan dampak terhadap perilaku siswa di SMAN Kota Padang yang kurang disiplin dan pada akhirnya menimbulkan prestasi akademik rendah.

Abstract

Pelajaran matematika sering dianggap sulit oleh anak didik. Salah satu penyebabnya karena pembelajaran belum didukung oleh media pembelajaran yang menarik. Pada tingkat Sekolah Dasar anak masih tahap operasional konkrit sehingga dalam pembelajaran matematika hendaknya guru dapat menyediakan media-media pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif untuk membantu siswa dalam belajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat kreatifitas dan inovatif guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran dan melihat tanggapan mereka setalah diberi pelatihan. Metode penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis deskriptif. Pendekatan kualitatif adalah penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang atau perilaku yang dapat diamati. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru-guru yang diberi pelatihan dalam membuat media pembelajaran di kelompok kerja guru (KKG) IV Kecamatan X koto Singkarak Kabupaten Solok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru sudah dapat mengembangkan keterampilan membuat media pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovtif. Guru sudah dapat meningkatkan keterampilannya dalam menggunakan dalam pembelajaran. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan anak didik tingkat sekolah Dasar akan menyukai pelajaran matematika
