Abstract

The utilization of the resources of shrimp penaeid in the eastern part of the archipelagic waters Aru and surrounding sub-region III, to estimate the abundance of shrimp by using the swept area method. The aim of research to determine the composition of species caught by shrimp trawlers using a double rig, Comparative production of penaeid shrimp catch in 2014 and in 2012. Potential sustainable and penaeid shrimp with Swept area method. Results Composition Penaeid Shrimp Catch in archipelagic waters Aru and surrounding sub-region (III). There are 9 types of penaeid shrimp with the amount of catches of 17 988 kg and is the most dominant type of Green Tiger Prawn (Penaeus semisulcatus), while the lowest amount was kind Banana Prawn (Penaeus merguensis). The results of a comparative test with Chi Square (?2) turns Ho rejected and Ha accepted, wherein ?2 count 7.40 is greater than ?2 tables 0.05 (3.84) and ?2 tables 0.01 (6.63), this means that there are differences in yield catches in 2012 And in 2014 was very significant. There is a decline in production is very significant from 2012 until 2014. The potential outcome in the waters of the sub region Aru Islands and surrounding waters -III which covers 13,000 km2, where willingness stock (B) 579.58 tons, sustainable potential (MSY) amounted to 576.58 tons / year while the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) amounted to 463.67 tons / year.

Abstract

Lamun (seagrass) merupakan suatu tumbuhan yang  hidup terendam di dalam laut. Umumnya membentuk padang lamun yang luas didasar laut yang masih dapat dijangkau oleh cahaya  matahari yang memadai bagi pertumbuhannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui  jenis lamun yang dominan tumbuh diperairan Pulau  Jefman. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode trasker dengan pembuatan garis transek. sepanjang 25 meter dari garis pantai kemudian dibuat  kuadrat  1x1 meter, pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak (Random sampling). Lamun yang ditemukan dalam plot, diidentifikasi jenisnya dan dihitung jumlah tegakkannya dengan menggunakan kunci identifikasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu ditemukan sebanyak 3 spesies lamun pada kedua lokasi substrak yang berbeda. Ketiga spesies lamun terebut yaitu  Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii dan  Holophila minor. Species lamun tersebut terdiri dari dua family yaitu Hydrocharitaceae dan Cymodoceaceae.

Abstract

Sorong regency has abundance potency of coastal area resource, however it has not been fully optimized to prosperity of coastal community, thereby needed to identify about it. The studi done to identify the socio-economic baseline of coastal communities ,describing the human condition as seen from the level of education and employmen in fishing and no fishing and identify factors that affect revenue factors. Method of data collection with quantitative and qualitative. Instruments used were questioner while the analysis  of data processed by a computerizen office excel. The highest fishery production in Sorong at 2009 it was 74,37% and demersal 9,19%. The traditional fisheries is recommended fishing by bubu kepiting, jaring insang udang, jaring insang hanyut, jaring insang dasar, pancing rangkai dan rawai, whereas seaweed aquaculture and Keramba  jaring apung are the alternative for fisheries aquaculture.

Abstract

The cultivation of sea cucumbers in Samate District, the Raja Ampat is highly potential due to sufficient conditions of waters which is protected from the influence of currents, waves and a storm. The purpose of this study was to analyze the feasibility of sea cucumber cultivation in Samate districtRaja Ampat, referring to the prospect of future development. Data was collected in Samate district, Raja Ampat in November 2015 - February 2016. Samples were taken by purposive sampling method from representatives of farmers with consideration of the same level of diversity of sea cucumber cultivation area. Data analysis was performed by using financial feasibility analysis of sea cucumber cultivation with calculation of profit / loss, R-C ratio and BEP. The results showed that the earned profits in a year is amounted to Rp 25.388.000, while the value of B / C (Benefit Cost Ratio) is 3.25 or B / C > 1 which indicates that the business is feasible to be developed. BEP analysis is amounted of 4.6 kg, with the price of Rp 307.500 / kg, which means that the minimum production should be 4.6 kg at a price of Rp 307.500 /kg to achieve the capital return conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze seagrass community structure in North Salawati District, Raja Ampat. The scope of research is limited to identification of seagrass biodiversity, analyzing the overrune level of seagrass type covering the area, analyzing the densities types of seagrass important value index frequencies, water parameters and seagrass area. Research method was purposive sampling by using transects with dimensions of 1 x 1 meter with a total of seven stations along 100 meters of seagrass area. The acquired data was analyzed by using analysis of closure type, density type, frequency type, and important value index. Results of biodiversity identification showed that there are two families of seagrass,      Eight species of seagrass covering the area. The overrune of seagrass covering the area in both stations is very high. The area of coverage in the both areas is above 60% (> 60%), which classified as "healthy". The density of the species in both stations is very high which classified as medium dense. Temperature, pH, DO, salinity and turbidity are in the optimum level which classified as "good". The area which overrune by Seagrass in the waters of northern Salawati District is amounted to 5.7 km2.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui  apakah gillnet PA monofilament yang dioperasikan secara aktif (ciker) sebagai alat tangkap udang introduksi memiliki kinerja yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pengoperasian secara pasif. Ujicoba ciker dilakukan dengan experimental fishing selama 9 kali ulangan yang berlangsung pada bulan November tahun 2017 di Perairan Kabupaten Kaimana. Data dianalisa secara diskriptif dengan persamaan efektifitas, dan low impact by-catch, selanjutnya dilakukan uji kenormalan dan dilanjutkan uji beda (uji t dan f) dengan selang kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengoperasian  jaring sistim aktif (ciker) mendapatkan hasil tangkapan udang sebanyak 125.41 kg (rata-rata 13.93 kg), sehingga lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan sistim pasif sebanyak 53.72 kg (rata-rata 5.96 kg), tetapi jaring aktif ciker juga mendapatkan by-catch yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan jaring pasif. Jumlah by-catch pada jaring  aktif dan pasif yaitu masing-masing  298,57 kg dan 174.31 kg, sehingga direkomendasikan untuk melakukan kajian atau rekayasa alat tangkap jaring udang PA monofilament khususnya untuk tujuan mengurangi by-catch.

Abstract

A new antiplasmodial compound, 2-(3H-diazirine-3-yl)benzaldehyde (1), has been isolated from the Papuan marine sponge Xestospongia sp. The structure elucidation of compound 1 was determined by spectroscopic evidences including UV, IR, MS, 1D and 2D-NMR analysis. Compound 1 showed moderate antiplasmodial activity against Plasmodium falciparum with IC50 value of 1.08 x 10-6 mM. DOI:http://dx.doi.org/10.15408/jkv.v4i1.6735

Abstract

Ikan kembung (Rastrelliger kanagurta) salah satu jenis ikan ekonomi penting, jenis ini banyak ditemukan di Perairan Sorong dan sekitarnya dan sering tertangkap dengan alat tangkap bagan maupun purse seine. Sampai sekarang penelitian aspek-aspek biologi terutama tentang ukuran (panjang dan berat) belum banyak dilakukan. Sebagai penelitian pendahuluan, analisa hubungan panjang-berat dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui tingkat eksploitasi sumber daya tersebut.Analisa berdasarkan data panjang berat hasil pengukuran langsung secara acak dari hasil tangkapan  nelayan purse seiene selama 3 (tiga) bulan, dari September-November 2012. Data dianalisa dengan menggunakan persamaan kurva geometrik. Abstract

Abstrak: Keberadaan rumpon sebagai alat bantu penangkap ikan dapat meningkatkan produksi dan keberlanjutan lingkungan perlu didukung dengan alat tangkap yang ramah lingkungan. sesuai dengan jenis ikan pada rumpon. Pengabdian masyarakat bertujuan untuk memberikan keterampilan kepada nelayan untuk dapat membuat alat tangkap ramah lingkungan. Metode pelaksanaan yaitu memberikan ceramah dan praktik dilakukan dengan panduan instruktur memperagakan cara kerja untuk menghasilkan output kegiatan. Harapannya nelayan mandiri dan dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraanya. Kegiatan diikuti oleh kelompok nelayan kelurahan Saoka yang mendapat bantuna rumpon sebanyak 10 orang. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat nelayan mampu membuat alat tangkap ramah lingkungan berupa jaring insang hanyut pelagis kecil, rawai vertikal pelagis kecil, dan handline pelagis besar.  Evaluasi terhadap dampak rumpon dan alat tangkap ramah lingkungan terhadap pendapatan diperoleh hasil 2 orang nelayan mengalami kenaikan pendapatan sampai 10%, 5 orang nelayan mengalami kenaikan pendapatan 11-25%, 3 orang nelayan mengalami kenaikan pendapatan sebesar 26-100%.Abstract: The existence of FADs as a tool for fishing can increase production and environmental sustainability needs to be supported by environmentally friendly fishing gear. according to the type of fish on the FAD. Community service aims to provide skills to fishermen to be able to make environmentally friendly fishing gear. The method of implementation is to give lectures and practices conducted with the instructor's guide demonstrating how it works to produce the output of the activity. The hope is that fishermen are independent and can improve their welfare. The activity was followed by a group of fishermen from Saoka Village who received 10 people of FADs. The results of the community service of fishermen are able to make environmentally friendly fishing gear in the form of small pelagic gill nets, small pelagic vertical longlines, and large pelagic handlines. Evaluation of the impact of FADs and environmentally friendly fishing gear on income resulted in 2 fishermen experiencing an increase in income of up to 10%, 5 fishermen experiencing an income increase of 11-25%, 3 fishermen experiencing an income increase of 26-100%.
