Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui daya hambat antibakteri dari pakan yang dikombinasikan denga kunyit, bawang putih, dan zink terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Penelitian menggunakan Tepung kunyit, bawang putih dan zink yang dikombinasikan dengan pakan, dengan level berbeda, kemudian diuji daya hambatnya terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli dengan menggunakan metode difusi disk. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa dengan RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) yang terdiri atas lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan luas zona hambatan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) baik itu pada bakteri Staphylococcus aureus maupun Escherichia coli. Dari hasil tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa daya hambat terbesar yaitu pada Escherichia coli (3,400 cm) dan terendah yaitu Staphylococcus aureus (1,375 cm), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi kunyit, bawang putih dan zink pada pakan ditiap perlakuan efektif menghambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli.

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of turmeric water extract, garlic and combination turmeric and garlic as a feed additive in the broiler diet on pancreatic enzyme activity of broiler chicken. Effectivity of treatments was assessed by addition of phytobiotic (control, 015% zinc bacitracin, 2.5% TE, 2.0% GE, 2.5% TGE) which were arranged Completely Randomized Design with 4 replications. The variables measured were pancreatic enzyme activity(amylase enzyme activity, protease enzyme activity  and lipase enzyme activity).The results showed that enzyme protein activity content of 2.5% TE supplementation is also high at 82.02 U/ml, then supplemented 2.5% TGE, 2.0% GE, negative control and positive control respectively 75.98 ; 72.02; 68.74; and 66.57 U/ml. The lipase enzyme activity whereas the negative control and a positive control differ significantly higher (P<0.05) to treatment with the addition of 2.5% TE, 2.0% GE and 2.5% TGE phytobiotic. The research concluded that the incorporation of 2.5% TE, 2% GE and combined 2.5% TGE as feed additive enhanced pancreatic enzyme activity.

Abstract

Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang merupakan kabupaten konsentrasi peternakan ayam ras di Sulawesi Selatan dan sangat rawan terjangkit penyakit flu burung. Ramuan herbal sudah banyak digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk pencegahan penyakit pada unggas termasuk kasus flu burung. Unggas yang diberi ramuan herbal selaiin lebih sehat juga merupakan produk organik yang memiliki keunggulan dari produk yang menggunakan obat-obatan sintetik. Metode yang digunakan adalah PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal)/RRA (Rapid Rural Appraisal). Metode pendekatan menyelesaikan masalah, meliputi penyuluhan, latihan dan kunjungan (Laku), pendidikan sekolah lapang (SL), demplot, pembimbingan dan pendampingan, learning by doing. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama 3 (tiga) bulan. Teknologi yang diterapkan meliputi penggunaan ramuan herbal dan pengolahan feses ayam menjadi pupuk organik. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa peternak yang digunakan sebagai tempat demplot merupakan ketua kelompok maju yang menerima penerapan teknologi tepat guna dan memiliki kelompok binaan. Ramuan herbal mampu meningkatkan kualitas interior telur (warna kuning telur dan ketebalan kerabang telur).

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of turmeric water extract, garlic and combinations of turmeric and garlic as feed additives in broiler diets on the physical and sensory quality of broiler meat. During the study, the chicken were given 5 feeding treatments, i.e. R0 (basal ration without phytobiotic and antibiotics) , R1 (basal diet + 0.015% zinc bacitracin + 2.485% filler), R2 (basal ration + 2.50% TE), R4  (basal ration + 2.00% GE + 0.50% filler), and R5 (basal ration + 2.50% TGE). The base diet was composed of: yellow corn, meat and bone meal, poultry meat meal, soybean meal, oil, mineral mix, calcium carbonate, dicalcium phosphate, salt, L-lysine-HCl, and DL-methionine. Variables observed were physical quality (pH, water holding capacity, cooking lose, and tenderness) and sensory quality. Data regarding physical quality were statistically analyzed by one-way ANOVA followed by the orthogonal contrast for significant results, and data of sensory quality by non-parametric methods such as the Hedonic Kruskal-Wallis test. The results showed that the physical quality of meat had no effect (P>0.05), except the significant water holding capacity (P<0.05) which was lower with phytobiotic extract supplementation. All sensory test parameters in fresh and cooked meat had no effect (P>0.05) following phytobiotic extract supplementation, except for the color and acceptability (P <0.05) in fresh broiler meat. The conclusion of the research was that 2.5% TE, 2.0% GE and 2.5% TGE is capable of acting as a feed additive to increase the physical and sensory quality of broiler meat.

Abstract

The activities conducted in Maros regency Tanralili district Purnakarya village in chickens and beef cattle groups Cedde Jaya. The main source of livestock feed cows during the dry season are dry forage, rice straw, corn straw and hay crops of nuts which happened to be planted at the time of drought. Besides, leaf&nbsp; Gamal is also a main feed in dry&nbsp; season. Number of cattle per family ownership only 2-3&nbsp; head extensively maintained. Range chicken as well as extensive maintenance, ownership on average 2-5 chicken each household group.&nbsp; To increase the productivity of cattle, the team provides counseling, coaching, training and mentoring as well as providing some main of facilities such as cattle shed, biogas digester, planting banana. Results are expected in the presence of&nbsp; activities is the avaibility of green forage mainly during the dry season, so that the cattle population will increase, the biogas as a fuel&nbsp; alternative to kerosin and LPG gas, liquid and solid fertilizer from biogas by-product process, the increasing population of chicken qualified (meat and eggs as well as the day old chick).&nbsp; Besides the problem of production is also done on the farm management. The activities is expected that will increase the incomes of farmers further improve the welfare of Maros regency. For the sustainability of the program it is necessary supervision and guidance are routinely performed by the related department along with the college.

Abstract

The purpose of science and technology activities for the community is to provide skills to farmers groups inutilizing the potential of existing natural resources as an alternative to ducks, utilizing high-protein ammonia bran, andmaking herbs as additive feed. Specific targets to be achieved are the fulfillment of livestock nutrition needs, especiallyducks with resource utilization with the fulfillment of food needs. Not only use the feed without processing. Through thisactivity farmers and agricultural extension, workers are expected to synergize to learn to utilize available local food,raising public awareness to utilize local resources into the nutrient-rich feed. Method of implementation of activities to becarried out is the socialization of activities on farmer groups, training for members of farmer groups, how to make a feedwith some feed processing technology and assistance to farmers. Output target IbM program is an alternative ration forducks, ammonia bran as a source of protein, herbal medicine. The method used is PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) /RRA (Rapid Rural Appraisal). Learning methods, extension training, training, and visits (Laku), field school education(SL), demonstration plots, guidance and mentoring, learning by doing. The resulting results of the system. Breeders arenot familiar with feed processing technology and farmers have not utilized local feed as a constituent of rations. Abstract

The purpose of the Community Partnership Program (PKM) program this time were to provided skills to the Tanah Adat and Ngangang Baku livestock groups in Manuju District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The disseminated technology, among others, utilizes bran ammonia as a high protein feed source for poultry, and the manufacture of silage technique feed by utilizing agricultural waste. The Tanah Adat and Ngangang Baku farmer groups are farmers' farmer groups which each member of the farmer group maintains poultry in addition to having large livestock. The problem faced by partners is that the maintenance system is still extensive, the low production is due to the problem of availability of feed with quality that is in line with the needs of livestock, the partners have not been able to utilize local natural resources as feed ingredients. The solutions offered include fulfilling the nutritional needs of livestock by utilizing local resources through the introduction of simple feed processing technology so that farmers can make their own feed and are not dependent on concentrate feed or only use feed without processing. Through this activity, it is expected that farmers and agricultural extension workers will work together to learn to utilize the available local resources into high-yield food. Methods of conducting socialization, training and demonstrations for members of farmer groups as well as mentoring to monitor the development and productivity of post-activity livestock. The results obtained by tabulating the questionnaire given showed that almost all members of the breeders group did not recognize alternative high protein sources and silage techniques. Farmer groups want guidance on an ongoing basis, given the lack of knowledge of breeders and the introduction of technology. Overall the results obtained were very positive responses and active participation from members of the livestock group.

Abstract

The target of this devotion activity is the group of poultry breeder Baji Minasa and Cahaya Po'rong in ManujuSubdistrict Gowa regency of South Sulawesi. The productivity of livestock in this group has not been good or is still said tobe low. Bran ammonia by utilizing&nbsp; feces and bran around as high protein source as well as an herbal medicine for ducksand domestic chickens as feed additive and composting. After that proceed with the socialization of activity programs onmembers of livestock groups. The execution phase is carried out by counseling on the importance of providing and makingfeeds independently by utilizing local resources and the importance of sanitation or bio-security in village management. Themethod used is PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal)/RRA (Rapid Rural Appraisal). Methods of approach to solvingproblems, including counseling, training and visits, field school education (SL), and learning by doing. Through this activit yfarmers and agricultural extension, workers are expected to synergize to learn to utilize the available local resources intonutrient-rich feed by self-production thereby reducing the cost of raising livestock. The results obtained by tabulating thegiven questionnaire indicate that the breeder does not recognize alternative feed sources of high protein and wantscontinuous counseling, given the knowledge of breeders and the introduction of technology is still lacking. Overall the resul tsobtained are very positive responses as well as the active participation of members of livestock groups

Abstract

Stres panas menyebabkan puyuh mengalami stres oksidatif. Stres oksidatif menyebabkan puyuh rentan terhadap infeksi bakteri dan juga akan berpengaruh pada performanya. Stres oksidatif dapat diatasi dengan penambahan antioksidan. Salah satu sumber antioksidan alami adalah bunga kasumba turate. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis ketahanan dan performan puyuh yang diberi jus bunga kasumba turate. Materi penelitian ini terdiri dari sari bunga kasumba turate dan puyuh. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan dengan P0: 100 mL air minum tanpa JBKT (Kontrol), P1: JBKT 0,25 mg/mL dalam 100 mL air minum, P2: JBKT 0,75 mg/mL dalam 100 mL air minum, P3: JBKT 1,25 mg/mL dalam 100 mL air minum. Hasil penelitian tingkat stres menunjukkan bahwa rasio H/L P1, P2 dan P3 lebih rendah dari P0. Hasil uji clearance menunjukkan bahwa mortalitas bakteri Salmonella pullorum mencapai 67,7%. Pemberian JBKT tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap konsumsi pakan dan pertambahan bobot badan. Nilai konversi pakan pada perlakuan P1, P2 dan P3 lebih baik dari pada P0. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pemberian jus bunga kasumba turate pada puyuh mampu memperbaiki ketahanan tubuh terhadap panas lingkungan, terhadap infeksi bakteri dan performa pertumbuhan. Konsentrasi 0,25 mg/100 mL JBKT mampu membunuh bakteri S.pullorum tertinggi dan menghasilkan keefisienan pakan terbaik. Kata kunci : Bunga Kasumba Turate, Ketahanan, Performa ABSTRACTHeat stress causes quail to experience oxidative stress. Oxidative stress can make quail susceptible to bacterial infections which will also affect their performance. Oxidative stress can be overcome with the addition of antioxidants. One of the natural sources of antioxidants is the kasumba turate flower. The purpose of this study was to analyze the resistance and performance of quails that were given the flower juice of kasumba turate L). The material of this study consisted of kasumba turate flower juice and quail. This study consisted of 4 treatments and 4 replications with P0: 100 mL of drinking water without JBKT (Control), P1: JBKT 0,25 mg/mL in 100 mL of drinking water, P2: JBKT 0,75 mg/mL in 100 mL of drinking water, P3: JBKT 1,25 mg/mL in 100 mL drinking water. The results of the research on stress levels showed that the H/L ratio P1, P2 and P3 were lower than P0. The clearance test showed that the mortality rate for Salmonella pullorum bacteria reached 67,7%. The provision of JBKT did not significantly affect feed consumption and body weight gain. The feed conversion values of treatment P1, P2 and P3 were better than P0. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of kasumba turate flower juice to quails can improve the body's resistance to environmental heat, against bacterial infections and growth performance. The concentration of 0,25 mg/100 mL JBKT was able to kill the highest S.pullorum bacteria and produce the best feed efficiency.Keywords: Kasumba Turate Flower, Performance, Resistance

Abstract

The purpose of research was to investigate the influence of steamed preconditioning the pellet on water content, water activity (Aw), physical appearance and pellet fineness. The experiment was carried out in 2 x 3 factorial arrangement according to completely randomized design with 3 replications for each treatment combination. The factor A is the pellet-making process (steam/MBS and non steam/MBNS), while factor B is the length of storage (0, 2 and 4 weeks). The parameters observed were water content, water activity, physical appearance and pellet fineness. Data were  analyzed by  STASTS program version  2.6  and followed by Multiple Range Test if the treatments were significant. The results showed that  treatment with MBS or MBNS and the length of storage did not affect physical appearance (colour, smell and taste) of the pellet. MBS treatment significantly reduced water contents of pellet compared with MBNS treatment (12.04 vs 11.45%) and significantly increased water activity (0.75 vs 0.80). The length of storage (0, 2 and 4 weeks) increased water content of pellet, i.e. 10.84, 12.02 and 12.47%, respectively. In conclusion, steamed preconditioning treatment (MBS) reduced water content and increased water activity of pellet, while  the length of storage significantly increased water content and water activity but reduced pellet fineness.
