Abstract

This study aims to determine the adaptation strategies of farmers in the face of low prices for oil palm in Sungai Bahar District. The data used are primary data obtained from direct interviews with respondents and secondary data obtained from literature and related institutions. The method used in this research is mixed methods. Data analysis is done by collecting data and analyzing quantitative data in the first stage, then collecting data and analyzing qualitative data in the second stage, then analyzing the overall data to then draw conclusions from the analysis of the data. The analysis methods are: (1) Data reduction; (2) Presentation of data and; (3) Drawing conclusions. The results showed that the adaptation strategies used were: (1) active strategy, becoming an oil palm farm laborer, opening a side business; (2) a passive strategy, utilizing home yards to grow horticultural crops, raising / raising chickens; (3) network strategy, borrowing money from relatives / neighbors, borrowing money from tauke and borrowing / borrowing daily necessities at the shop / shop.

Abstract

After entering the era of free trade in 2015 in the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) and 2020 around the world through WTO (World Trade Organization) agreement, many things must be considered, each country is required to improve its competitiveness through development in various sectors of the economy especially the goods to be exported to the destination country.The purpose of this research is to analyze the competitiveness of Libtukom Coffea, analyze the impact of government policy on output and input on libtukom coffea farming and analyze competitiveness sensitivity of Libtukom coffea farming to change of output and input. This study uses primary and secondary data sources, to determine the number of respondents calculated by the formula slovin diproleh number of respondents as much as 92 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis method and the infractional method by tabulating and processed by using PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix) method. From the result of the research, it can be concluded that: (1) 1) Cultivation of libtukom coffea in Distric of West Tanjung Jabung has comparative and competitive advantage. The use of resources in the research area at the market and international market rates is efficient for economic and financial use as indicated by PCR and DRCR values ​​obtained <1, for PCR obtained 0.195 and DRCR 0.176; (2) In general, local government policies for leather farming still have not shown favorable partiality for small farmers. This can be seen from the result of NPCO value obtained <1 that is equal to 0.912 and seen from NPCI that> 1 is 1.006 and (3) In the simulation of sensitivity done obtained the production costs incurred by each farmer for libtukom coffea cultivation can be covered by the selling price earned.

Abstract

Research aims 1) Describe the picture of internet utilization in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency,2) Analyzing the performance level of agricultural extension workers in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, and 3) Analyzing the relationship between internet use and the performance of agricultural extension workers in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. This research was conducted in Pengabuan and Senyerang sub-districts as many as 20 agricultural extension workers and 85 farmer groups. Data analysis using Spearman rank analysis. The results of the study show that the internet has been used by extension workers. The use of the internet by extension workers to meet the needs of personal information and farmer groups. An indicator of internet utilization in a place is the presence or absence of an internet network, at the research location, the internet network is already available throughout the kelurahan/village. The availability of the network will make it easier for agricultural extension workers to meet the need for information, will affect the duration of extension workers in accessing the internet. The duration of internet use will affect the amount of information obtained, the longer the duration of internet use, the more information will be obtained, and in the end it will affect the use of the internet with the performance of the extension worker. The results of the analysis show that the relationship between internet use and the performance of agricultural instructors has a value of 0.003, where 0.003 < 0.05 so that internet use is significantly related to performance with an error of 1%. The strength of the relationship between the two variables at a value of 0.625** means that it has a strong relationship strength. While the direction of the relationship between the two variables is positive.

Abstract

Siam orange production in Jambi Province in 2019 was 372,516 quintals, with an average yield per hectare of 54.85 quintals with a harvested area of 946.20 hectares. Of this number, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency in 2019 was the third largest Siamese orange producing area in Jambi Province, with a production of 102,609 quintals. The limitations of production cost factors as input allocation will affect profits in Siam Orange farming optimally so that from this situation farmers are faced with the choice of using farming resources and are required to implement limited resource efficiency efforts so that they are profitable in Siam Orange farming.The purpose of this study was to determine the general description of farming, the magnitude of the profits obtained from farming and to analyze the factors that influence the profits of Siamese citrus farming. The research location is in Betara District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. The analysis used to analyze the profit of farming is descriptive quantitative analysis. and to analyze profits with the Cobb-Douglas function, and analysis of R/C ratio. General description of Siamese citrus farming on peat land in the research location, harvest duration 2 times know the cost of production Rp. Rp.17.556.054/tahun, with big profits Siam citrus farming research location Rp. 109.005.546 /tahun. Cobb Douglas function coefficient test Production factors, land rent costs, fertilizer costs, labor costs, pesticide costs and depreciation costs partially affect the profits of Siamese citrus farming on peatlands. Land rental costs, fertilizer costs and depreciation costs have a positive effect on profits, while labor costs and pesticide costs have a negative effect on the profits of Siamese citrus farming on peat land.
