Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the training to play a traditional musical instrument called serunai at Palito Studio, Pondok Kandang Village, Mukomuko Regency. This research belongs to a descriptive study using qualitative approach. The main instrument in this study was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing tools, cameras, and cellphones. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The data was analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results show that the training in Palito studio uses a direct approach or "direct instruction" with the technique of introducing the song and the tone of the song to serunai as well as the way to produce the tones technically. Students immediately practice playing the songs being learned while "inserting technical in-depth material and sense of taste” when practicing to play the songs as well as applying the peer tutor method. The serunai training at the Palito studio essentially provides provisions for "basic skills" to play serunai by using material recognition method, "monitored independent training," and peer tutor method. Students who have basic abilities can deepen the technique of playing serunai and deepen their sensitivity to serunai tones in seruna performances in society ("by experience").

Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the process of achieving the basic competencies of grade XI music materials at SMA N 4 Padang. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive methods of analysis. The main instrument in this study was the researchers themselves. Data collection techniques are conducted by means of observations, interviews, library studies and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are collecting data, describing data and concluding data. The results showed that the achievement of basic competencies of cultural arts subjects of music material class XI IS 1 as reflected in the implementation of the learning, has not been achieved as planned in the learning planning. The reason the researchers say is still not achieved, because in the implementation of learning by teachers focused on "the practice of playing songs instrumentally the song 'Ibu Kita Kartini' and the song 'Minangkabau' with pianika instruments, recorders, and guitar accompaniment.  Teacher's mastery of materials also plays an important role in achieving learning objectives. The teacher of cultural arts at SMA N 4 Padang has dance skills, and is less so mastering music art material. This causes the implementation of cultural arts learning music material is not in accordance with the learning objectives set out in the learning planning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to describe the vocal group as an extracurricular learning at SMP 2 KayuTanam.This study was a qualitative study using descriptive method. The object was the implementation of vocal group of extracurricular learning at SMP 2 KayuTanam. The primary data were attained through observation, and interview, and the secondary data were taken from library research. The result showed that the well-planned activity led to the good result. The good implementation of vocal group at SMP 2 KayuTanam can be gained because of the contributions of the coach who planned the extracurricular learning and school’s principles that supported and facilitated the needs during the extracurricular time.

Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed at describing the implementation of Peer-Tutor method in Recorder class at SMPN I Patamuan. This was a qualitative research. The data of the research was collected through observation, interview and library study. The result of the research showed that the use of Peer-Tutor method in Ambilkan Bulan Bu song could improve the students’ learning achievement. This could be seen from the students’ average score which was above the Minimum Standart Score (75) indicating that the learning outcome was 100% achieved. Key word: Recorder clas, Peer-Tutor.

Abstract

Abstract The article was aimed at raveling the function of Dikia Rapano in Moanta Marapole during a wedding reception at Nagari Ujung Gading Lembah Melintang Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. The design of the research was qualitative using descriptive method. The data were obtained through library research, observation, interview and documentation. The data was analyzed by classifying and arranged them systematically. The research findings showed that the music instrument Dikia Rapano was used in Moanta Marapole during a wedding reception, that was when the groom wore the traditional wedding dress, led to the bride house in the wedding procession, and then both of the bride and the groom went around the neighborhood. The functions of Dikia Rapano were (1) as an entertainment (2) as a media for communication (3) as a physical respond and (4) as a media of certain ceremony.   Kata kunci: Fungsi, Musik, Dikia, Rapano

Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to know the implementation and application of ADP technique in learning talempong pacik on arts and cultures subject in the second semester, class VIII.1 of SMP Negeri 1 Painan. This research was classified to applied research. Instrument in this study was the researcher itself assisted by stationery, camera and audio recorder. The techniques of data collection used were observation, interviews, document study and documentation. The results of this study showed that in applying ADP technique, the students were asked to present the play of Talempong Pacik during three meetings. The points assessed in that performance were presentation, harmony, and technique. After the implementation of ADP technique, the teacher got results from their score in that presentation, teachers found students who were less familiar and understood about playing talempong pacik, and about 80% of the students understood. ADP techniques really helped the learners to understand how to play talempong pacik  in short time, i.e. three meetings. Keywords: ADP Technique, Talempong Pacik

Abstract

AbstractThis article aims to finding out and describe the implementation of exersice method using quiz in cultural and art subject for student grade VIII at SMP N 2 Painan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The design of the research was descriptive research by using qualitative approach. The object of the research were 4th grade student at SMP N 2 Painan. There were 20 students. The instrument was the researcher herself using stationary, camera and observation sheet. The research was conducted by observing the teacher while she is teaching and implementing the quiz. The data were collected through observation, interview, documentation and library research. The result of the research shows that the implementation of exercise method using quiz gave the positive effect to student in culture and art subject. It can be seen from student’s behavior that slowly improved since the first meeting the quiz given: such as they are serious during the lesson, gave response even asked some questions about what they learned. The learning outcomes also increase comparing to their midterm test result. It means the imolementation of quiz method is effective in cultural and art subject for student grade VIII 3 at SMP N 2 Painan.

Abstract

This article aims to find out about the design and implementation of extracurricular activities nasyid MAN 2 Padang. The discussion is focused on how the implementation of extracurricular activities at this time nasyid makes Nasyid performance MAN 2 Padang decreased every Nasyid Festival among students. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects studied were Nasyid Extracurricular Activities in MAN 2 Padang. Data was collected through observation and documentation. In this study, the instrument is the researchers themselves, with the support instrument documentation tools. The research results can be explained that the success of an extracurricular activity depends on good design in these extracurricular activities, as well as extracurricular activities nasyid. In addition to the plan, in extracurricular activities nasyid be accompanied by the implementation of good to get a result and performance on target.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the implementation of Culture Arts learning (Simple Ensemble Music) at seven grade students of Senior High School 1 Painan. This research was a descriptive study through a qualitative approach that describes all findings in the field. Techniques of data collection used were library research, observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that in Culture Arts learning (Simple Ensemble Music) at seven grade students of Senior High School 1 Painan is very well. It can be seen from the making of learning devices, syllabus and lesson plan designed and created by the culture arts teachers and the level of students' skills. From this, it can be seen that in learning culture arts (simple ensembles music) on competency standards that refer to the curriculum for appreciating and expressing, cultural arts teachers are able to provide material to students based on the material determined and the time allocation that has been previously designed. The second is that students are able to take lessons from beginning to end and apply well-adjusted / self-adjustments that can be seen from how students are able to create a new musical arrangement. Keywords: Implementation of Learning, Well Adjusted self-adjustments.

Abstract

This research was a descriptive study, using a qualitative method approach. The main instrument in this study was the researcher himself and assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, cameras and tape recorders. Data collection techniques were carried out by official data, observation, interviews and documentation. The steps data analysis were data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of the research showed that, in the practicing process of talempong creation at Saandiko Studio, the trainer was very good at providing the Implementation of Talempong Creation Playing Skills at Saandiko Studio. It also proved that the trainer succeeded in providing training to studio members by using several methods, namely by applying the lecture, demonstration and drill method, so the trainer's aim to develop the skills of the studio members produced excellent talent in playing talempong creation
