Abstract

Game Hockey sports consist of several forms of games namely, outdoor hockey, indoor hockey, and hokey ice. Popular hockey in Indonesia, especially on the islands of Java and Kalimantan, is an outdoor hockey with 11 (eleven) players. This game has been played in South Sulawesi since the 1980s. However, hockey experienced a decline both in popularity and in achievement. It can be seen that the game of hockey, has never been competed in the Inter-Regional Sports Week (PORDA) although it is a sport that is competed in the Olympics. The method used is 1) Providing theory and practice of basic technical training individually or in groups, 2) Providing training by providing viewing through picture and video media, 3) Providing training by providing examples and guiding both individually and in groups. In this activity, it was seen that the enthusiasm and interest of students in playing hockey was very good and quite high. Students want this sport to be included in the education curriculum at school, so that it is always to be played and studied further

Abstract

The purpose of study was to determine the effect of vitamin C supplementation on maximum physical activity on the total of leukocytes. Research method used a quasi-field experiment with pre-test design and post-test control group design. The study subjects consisted of four male non-athletes, aged 20-22 years. The number of leukocytes was measured before and after vitamin C supplementation with a dose of 100 mg and 500 mg in maximum activity, namely running to fatigue. Data normality was tested by Kolmogorov Smirnov and paired sample t-test was used to test for differences in the total of leukocytes before and after vitamin C supplementation. The results showed that the average number of respondents' leukocytes increased after maximal physical activity (∆ = 6,775) and after vitamin C supplementation 100 mg (∆ = 1300) and 500 mg (∆ = 550). Paired t-test showed a significant difference (p = 0.019) between the total of leukocytes before and after maximum physical activity. There was no significant difference between the supplementation of vitamin C at a dose of 100 mg (p = 0.09) and a dose of 500 mg (p = 0.95) on the total of leukocytes before and after maximum physical activity. So, it is concluded that maximum physical activity increases the number of leukocytes. However, there was no difference in the number of leukocytes before and after maximum physical activity in the supplementation of 100 mg and 500 mg of vitamin C

Abstract

The appropriate genetic potential of an athlete or prospective athlete determines the development of their future performance and achievement and reduces the risk of pathological conditions such as overtraining. This study aimed to determine the genotype variation thought to play a role in differences in exercise results and explosive power performance, namely the ACE gene. The research method used a cross-sectional design to describe the relationship between a factor and its effects on how genetic mutation variations play a role in an athlete's physical performance by involving 54 male and female badminton athletes with an average age of 18 years. The study was conducted by analysing the development of badminton skills with the same exercise routine, then being given an explosive power test in the form of a vertical jump through the Lewis nomogram assessment. The initial test was in the first month, and the second test was after six months. The results showed significant differences between the groups with variation II, ID and DD genotypes of the ACE gene. The DD genotype group showed better training adaptation in the explosive power test than genotype II and ID with a significant value (P<0.05). This study concludes that athletes with genotype DD variations adapt better to explosive power training than athletes with genotype II and ID. Athletes with genetic mutations II and ID in the ACE gene are more suitable for badminton sports requiring complex movement abilities and skills, which require good anaerobic and aerobic abilities.
