Abstract

This study aimed to identify students' conceptual mental models in understanding the concept of prime factors. This study uses a qualitative and descriptive approach, using subjective analysis. Subjects in this study amounted to 71 students in class VII. The research instrument used is a test consisting of two questions. At the same time, the data collection techniques use interviews. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that as many as subjects were included in the conceptual mental model. Furthermore, from the research results, it can be seen that students' conceptual mental models in understanding prime factors of a number, namely, students can use factor trees and understand prime numbers. This is supported by the results of interviews with three subjects stating that students can prove that 5 and 3 are prime factors of N while 15 and 45 are not prime factors of N; this is because 3 and 5 are prime numbers while 15 and 45 are not numbers. Abstract

Proses berpikir adalah serangkaian aktivitas untuk memecahkan persoalan (permasalahan) guna menemukan suatu jawaban atau penyelesaian dari suatu masalah atau suatu persoalan yang dilakukan oleh setiap manusia. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui proses berpikir siswa laki-laki dan perempuan dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Subjek penelitian terdapat 4 siswa, terdiri dari 2 siswa laki-laki dan 2 siswa perempuan. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan bentuk studi kasus. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes soal matematika dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi pemberian tes soal dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan prosedur Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian, siswa laki-laki dan perempuan sama-sama melakukan proses berpikir assimilasi dan melewati semua tahapan penyelesaian soal berdasarkan teori Polya. Penyelesaian soal menurut teori Polya terdiri dari: 1) memahami soal, 2) menyusun rencana penyelesaian soal, 3) melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian soal, 4) memeriksa kembali. Perbedaan antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan terletak pada kemampuan siswa memilih metode dalam penyelesaian soal matematika yang dikerjakan, perbedaan yang lain terletak pada ketelitian dan kerincian. Siswa perempuan lebih mampu memaparkan secara urut dan rinci pada metode menyelesaikan soal. Dalam kemampuan menyelesaikan soal matematika, siswa laki-laki lebih unggul dari siswa perempuan.

Abstract

The SOLO (Structure of Observed Learning Outcome) taxonomy is an educational taxonomy suitable for organizing various types of learning. The SOLO taxonomy categorizes students' thinking into five levels: pre-structural, uni-structural, multi-structural, relational, and extended abstract. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of students' thinking in solving mathematics problems based on the SOLO taxonomy with high, medium, and low levels of mathematics anxiety. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted in one of the junior high schools in Tulungagung City, East Java, Indonesia. The instruments used were a mathematics anxiety questionnaire, test based on the SOLO taxonomy, and interview guidelines. The data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that subjects with high mathematics anxiety had a uni-structural level of thinking. Second, subjects with moderate mathematics anxiety had a multi-structural level of thinking. Third, subjects with low mathematics anxiety have an extended abstract thinking level.

Abstract

Motivation for learning is one of the things that need to be raised in school learning efforts. This study aims to detail students' mathematics learning motivation in distance learning. This research uses quantitative research, while this type uses survey methods. The subject of the study was a private high school student in Lamongan, East Java. The instrument used in the study was a survey using a questionnaire made in google form. The student learning motivation survey results, including the criteria of each excellent indicator, found the highest score, namely 90.44%, on the enthusiastic indicator. In comparison, the good indicator found the lowest score of 71.61%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTLearning mathematics is considered difficult material by students from elementary school to high school. Based on the results of observations made through interviews with Mathematics teachers, it was found that the problems experienced by students at SMAN 1 Sewon Bantul were found. The problems experienced by students are related to three dimensions and geometry transformation materials. In addition, there are still many students who cannot understand and visualize geometry material. How to make it easier to learn and understand abstract mathematics, especially geometry material, requires learning media, namely mathematics software. In learning mathematics, students need technology-based media that can represent their intuition in understanding a mathematical concept. The purpose of this service is to socialize GeoGebra Android as an open-source application to visualize geometry learning very accurately and more easily for high school students. The method used in this service activity is a training method through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and assignments. With the use of applications in learning, it is expected to increase students' motivation and understanding in learning mathematics, especially geometry material. The results of the questionnaire from 24 respondents of class XII IPA 6 students obtained a percentage that as much as 72.7% agreed that learning using geogebra was very interesting and interactive in learning geometry material. Keywords: GeoGebra, geometry, training, math learning. ABSTRAKPembelajaran matematika dianggap materi yang sulit bagi para siswa. Didasari dari hasil observasi yang sudah dilakukan melalui wawancara bersama guru mata pelajaran Matematika ditemukan permasalahan yang dialami siswa di SMAN 1 Sewon Bantul. Permasalahan yang dialami oleh siswa yaitu terkait dimensi tiga dan materi transformasi geometri. Selain itu, siswa belum dapat memahami dan menvisualisasikan materi geometri. Cara mempermudah belajar dan memahami matematika yang abstrak khususnya materi geometri diperlukan media pembelajaran yaitu software matematika. Dengan demikian pada pembelajaran matematika, diperlukan suatu media berbasis teknologi yang dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika. Sehingga tujuan dari pengabdian untuk mensosialisasikan GeoGebra Android sebagai aplikasi open source untuk memvisualisasikan pembelajaran geometri dengan sangat akurat dan lebih mudah bagi siswa SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah metode pelatihan melalui ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi, dan penugasan. Dengan penggunaan aplikasi dalam pembelajaran diharapkan dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika khususnya materi geometri. Hasil angket dari 24 responden siswa kelas XII IPA 6 didapatkan prosentase bahwa sebanyak 72,7% menyatakan setuju bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan geogebra sangat menarik dan interaktif dalam pembelajaran materi geometri.Kata Kunci: GeoGebra, geometri, pelatihan, pembelajaran matematika
