Abstract

Bioethanol is a renewable bio-fuels as an alternative energy substitute for oil, in the process leaving a solid waste that can be leveraged into a more useful product. This study aims to improve nutrition and reduce HCN and get the right dose of inoculum in the fermentation of bioethanol from cassava waste. This research was conducted with the experimental method used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in the 3 x 3 factorial with 3 replications. The first factor inoculum dose (D) to the level of inoculum dose, respectively d1 = 2%, 3% = d2, d3 = 4% and the second factor is the length of fermentation, namely for 0, 4 and 8 days As for some of the parameters measured were protein content and crude fiber through proximate analysis, as well as levels of HCN by distillation method. The result showed that the best dose is the dose of 4% which can increase protein content from 2.47% to 2.91% before fermentation - 4.88% after fermentation and can lower crude fiber content of 2.65% to 2.50 % - 2.07% and influential to the decreased levels of HCN from 15.92 mg / kg to 12.73 mg / kg - 0.00 mg / kg for 8 days after fermentation. The results showed that the fermentation process using a consortium of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Trichoderma viride can improve the quality of solid waste processing bioethanol from cassava which include increased levels of protein, crude fiber and decreased levels of HCN reduction.

Abstract

Abstract: In the hadith, Rasulullah SAW prohibit human to consume meat and milk from manure-eating animal (Jallalah animal). In this study, tilapia fishes were fed chicken manure (being Jallalah). Then, it was analyzed based on the microbe in their intestine. The purposes of this study are to isolate and to identify the types of bacteria, and to determine the pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria in the intestines of fish that have been fed chicken manure. Bacteria samples were isolated from the intestine of fish with chicken manure and the commercial fish food as a control. Bacteria identification was done by using morphological characterization, macroscopic and microscopic identification, and biochemical test. The results show that 21 isolated bacteria in the fish intestine that was fed chicken manure and six of the bacteria are pathogenic. Based on this study, it can be concluded that tilapia fish by feeding with chicken manure contains many types of pathogens bacteria. Briefly, tilapia fish is not good for being consumption.Abstrak: Dalam hadis yang diriwayatkan oleh Ibnu Umar,  Rasulullah SAW. Abstract

Papaya is a familiar fruit in Indonesia. During this time, papaya fruit is consumed by direct eating and sold at low prices. Young papaya can be processed into a form of creative food products such as abon. The manufacturing process includes preparation of material tools, stripping, steaming for 40 minutes, thin slicing, addition of complementary spices, drying, frying, and serving. The implementation of PKM activities included the dissemination of material and the practice of making abon papaya. Based on the results of the activity, it was obtained information that the participants in the activity didn’t know much about the nutrients contained in papaya fruit, even the participants had never known that papaya fruit could be processed into shredded fruit. The community service activities on the topic of making shredded papaya fruit can increase awareness, knowledge, skills, and also the motivation of the business of Pamagersari Hamlet Community in Tanjungsari Village, Sumedang.

Abstract

Cassava processing into bioethanol potentially generates waste as animal feed, but the content of nutrients is still low. This research aims to discover effect of urea and sulfur addition in solid waste bioethanol fermented by EM-4 on contents of crude protein and fiber. The research used the experimental methods with completely randomized design, factorial pattern 3 × 3 with 3 time of replicates. The first factor, supplementation of Nitrogen is Urea (N1=0%, N2=1,5%, N3=3%) and the second factor is supplementation of sulfur (S1=0%, S2=0,02%, S3=0,04%). Based on the results of variance analysis showed that there is an interaction between urea with sulfur on content of protein crude, but not on fiber crude. Addition of each urea and sulfur showed that the content of crude protein was increased (P<0,05) and the level of crude fiber (P<0,05) was decreased. Fermentation along 4 day on treatment of urea 3% and sulfur 0,04% produce crude protein and fiber of 14,44% and 6,97%, respectively. Conclusion, addition of urea 3% and sulfur 0,04% give the good results. Keywords: Bioethanol, EM-4 (Efective Microorganisms4), Crude Protein, Crude Fiber, Sulfur and Urea

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that has been attacked almost all countries in the world since 2020 has changed the lifestyle and habits of peoples globally. Since this outbreak until now, peoples in all countries including in Indonesia must implement the health protocols to reduce the rate of virus transmission. One of them is by maintaining hand hygiene by washing hands using soap or hand sanitizer (HS).  HS is used as an alternative in conditions which is difficult to washing hand. But, rural communities, especially in Tangguh Village in Kampung Pasir Honje, Sukawening, Ciwidey, Bandung Regency, are currently unable to use it due to limited access and economy. Training of making HS for the community can be a solution in overcoming this problem. Thie aims of this activity to provide skills to the people of Tangguh Village to make hand sanitizers made from alcohol and non alcohol. Method: conducted by lectures and do questions and answers about HS and then direct practice of making HS. Result: All participants can make hand sanitizers well. There are 2 types of HS that have been successfully made by the community, namely HS containing alcohol and HS free of alcohol. The alcohol content in the first type is around 60-70%, while the alcohol-free HS is made from betel leaf extract because it contains antibacterial compounds. The results of the evaluation show that 50% of the participants stated that they were very satisfied with the implementation of this activity and about 92% stated that this activity was very beneficial for them.
