Abstract

The use of induction motors in industry and factories is more profitable than DC or synchronous motors, one of the advantages is easy maintenance and high efficiency. On machines in the industry speed regulation is necessary. Along with the development of power electronics, this has become very easy to do, namely by supplying the motor with a variable speed drive (VSD) inverter. With a variable speed drive inverter supply, it is possible to adjust the motor speed by adjusting the voltage frequency. This study was conducted to determine the effect of variable frequency by using a variable speed drive inverter on the performance of a three-phase induction motor. Tests were conducted at frequencies of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 Hz (inverter frequency) and the motor was loaded with 0.5Nm. From the study, it was concluded that, among other things, the use of a variable speed drive inverter resulted in greater motor losses and the motor produced a louder sound. At the same frequency (50 Hz) the motor efficiency is better when supplied directly from the power grid.

Abstract

The Balai Pungut Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG) is one of the plants in the Pekanbaru sector and part of the North Sumatra Plant (KITSBU). This PLTMG has a capacity of 7 x 17 MW with dual fuel systems, namely Solar and Gas. For gas fuel, it is the main fuel of PLTMG because the gas efficiency is higher than diesel. However, diesel fuel is the main fuel that must be used for PLTMG engines as gas fuel, so diesel fuel must be supplied continuously for the consumption of PLTMG needs. Therefore, the Fuel Feeder system for Solar fuel must have reliable performance. However, at PLTMG Balai Pungut, there are often problems or problems with the Fuel Feeder, this is because the protection system shows the occurrence of a Fuel Feeder travel system that occurs in fuel feeder equipment components that experience voltage input instability. After analysis due to the impact of resources in the SUTT System Network as a supply center line experienced Transient. Therefore, the Power Supplay Electrical System for Fuel Feeder equipment needs to be modified with the addition of an inverter, the source of which is taken from the battery as a source of constant direct voltage and voltage converted back and forth to play the electricity system of the Fuel Feeder PLTMG Balai Pungut.

Abstract

Kegiatan usaha Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) acapkali menguasai essential facilities sehingga menimbulkan penguasaan pasar.

Abstract

Under the Indonesian Competition Law, interlocking directorate in companies is not absolutely prohibited. This is in contrast to the US Competition Law which prohibits it per se. Nevertheless, the enforcement of competition law for cases relating to interlocking directorate held in the two countries have similarities, namely that it is necessary to prove should there be any impacts on competition. For this reason, this research was conducted by proposing two questions, namely, first, how is the regulation of interlocking directorate in Indonesian and the US Competition Law? Second, how is the enforcement of competition law in regards to interlocking directorate in Indonesia and the US? This normative legal research uses statutory, conceptual, case, and comparative law approaches to answer the question. This study concludes that the US applies the per se illegal approach, whereas Indonesian Competition Law applies the rule of reason approach. However, in the application of the rule of reason approach in Indonesia, it was identified that there was a non-uniformity in the considerations of the Commission Council and KPPU's Decisions for cases of interlocking directorate. The non-uniformity referred to is related to whether or not there has been a violation of the prohibition of interlocking directorate and its impact on unfair competition. Even though the US uses the per se illegal approach, its application still causes controversy because there is a court opinion stating that proof of impact or contrary to all provisions of competition law is required for a violation of interlocking directorate.Key Words: Business competition law; dual positions; Indonesia; United States of America AbstrakJabatan rangkap di perusahaan tidak dilarang mutlak dalam konteks hukum persaingan usaha Indonesia. Kata-kata Kunci: Hukum persaingan usaha; jabatan rangkap; Indonesia; Amerika Serikat

Abstract

In any market structure, potential competition violations arising from merger, consolidation, and acquisition (M&A) activities cannot be completely avoided. This holds true for digital markets that involve multi-sided markets, network effects, and significant consumer data. The intricate nature of the digital market poses a challenge for competition authorities in effectively monitoring M&A transactions between digital companies. A notable example is the GoTo merger, which is set to become the largest digital company in Southeast Asia. To address this issue, this legal research aims to discuss the legal implications of the current notification policy based on Law No. 5 of 1999 by conducting contextual research on digital market operations and studying previous violations committed by foreign digital companies. This research follows a normative legal research approach, employing statutory, conceptual, and case analysis to address the problem formulation. The findings indicate that digital companies possess various possibilities to violate competition law, including monopolistic practices and unfair business competition, if the existing post-merger notification policy remains in place. As many countries are already grappling with complex issues such as data ownership thresholds, Indonesia is taking its initial steps towards implementing changes to its merger policy. By adopting a pre-merger notification policy as a reporting obligation, Indonesia will enable the Commission for the Supervision of Business Competition (KPPU) to assess M&A transactions more effectively and provide legal certainty for businesses regarding the lawfulness of their M&A activities.
