Abstract

In order to achieve sustainable transportation target, one of the transportation policy commonly adopted is to increase the use of public transport, for example, bus and train. It is, therefore, important to study the commuting behavior by bus and train of residents. Two techniques were applied to study commutingbehavior, i.e. preference functions and Moran’s I spatial statistic. The commuting preference by bus was found to move towards distance maximization over time. Unlike decreasing trend for the slope preferences by bus by increasing LGA distances from the CBD, there is no clear increasing or decreasing trend for theslope preferences by train. Similar to bus, the slope preferences by train are relatively stable over time. A significant positive spatial association was identified for the slope preferences by bus for both O-D and D-O matrices, however the spatial variation in the slope preferences by train was found to be random.Keywords: commuting preferences, spatial association, preference function

Abstract

Abstract. Decreasing public transport use and increasing car dependence have been experienced in many cities in the world. The environmental impact caused by this trend is alarming. In order to achieve sustainable city, one of the targets is to increase the use of public transport and reduce VKT (Vehicle Kilometer Traveled). It is therefore important to study the commuting behavior of residents. Using Journey-to-Work (JTW) Census data for Sydney region (Australia), this paper focused on analysis of commuting preferences by bus. Two techniques were applied to study commuting behavior by bus, i.e. preference functions and Moran’s I spatial statistic. Preference function was used to measure resident’s commuting behavior by bus whilst Moran’s I spatial statistic was applied to study the spatial association or interaction amongst zones and to test their statistical significance. The results showed that the commuting behavior of the workers was not stable spatially. This indicates that the use of one global parameter to estimate future travel is not appropriate. The change in the commuting preferences by bus toward distance maximization has led to the increase of travel distance and VKT. Spatial statistic showed that the interaction was positive for journey-to-work by bus.Abstrak. Penurunan penggunaan angkutan umum dan peningkatan ketergantungan pada pemakaian kendaraan pribadi telah dialami oleh banyak kota di dunia. Akibat negatifnya terhadap lingkungan sangat mengkhawatirkan. Untuk mencapai kota yang berkelanjutan, salah satu targetnya adalah dengan meningkatkan penggunaan angkutan umum dan mengurangi kendaraan-kilometer. Untuk itu sangat penting untuk mengkaji perilaku komuter. Dengan menggunakan Sensus Perjalanan ke Tempat Kerja di Kota Sydney (Australia), paper ini difokuskan untuk menganalisis preferensi komuter dalam melakukan perjalanan dengan bis. Dua metode diaplikasikan yaitu fungsi keinginan dan statistik spasial Moran I. Fungsi keinginan dipergunakan untuk mengukur perilaku komuter yang menggunakan bis, sedangkan statistik spasial Moran I dipergunakan untuk mengkaji keterkaitan spasial atau interaksi antar zona serta untuk menguji signifikansinya secara statistik. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa perilaku komuter dari para pekerja tidak stabil secara spasial. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan satu parameter global untuk memperkirakan perjalanan di masa mendatang tidaklah tepat. Perubahan preferensi komuter dengan bis kearah memaksimalkan jarak telah mengakibatkan peningkatan jarak perjalanan dan kendaraan-kilometer. Statistik spasial memperlihatkan bahwa terjadi interaksi positif untuk perjalanan kerja dengan menggunakan bus.

Abstract

Abstract. This study examines journey to work by train in Sydney and the relationship with urban form, socio-economic and demographic variables by using multiple regression model. Train modal share between area located close to and away from a rail station is compared by using analysis of variance. Results of analyses indicate that the proportion using train between area close to and away from rail station is significantly different. Several urban form variables are related to the proportion using train for work trips. However, when socio-economic factors are included in the analysis, car ownership is the main determinant for the proportion using train whilst urban form variable such as density does not have a significant influence. Although urban form variables are not the most important predictor for rail modal share, urban form does influence the proportion using train in different parts of the metropolitan region. The findings support the use of urban form policies to reduce the dependence on car. A variety of non-urban form factors that affect mode choice are also identified. Abstrak. Studi ini menganalisis perjalanan kerja dengan kereta api di Kota Sydney dan keterkaitannya dengan variabel bentuk kota, sosial ekonomi dan demographi dengan model regresi berganda. Penggunaan kereta api antara lokasi yang dekat dan yang jauh dari stasiun kereta api dibandingkan dengan menggunakan analisis varian. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa proporsi penggunaan kereta api antara lokasi yang dekat dan yang jauh dari stasiun berbeda secara signifikan. Beberapa variabel bentuk kota terkait dengan proporsi pemakaian kereta api untuk tujuan kerja. Akan tetapi, ketika faktor sosial-ekonomi juga disertakan, kepemilikan kendaraan pribadi menjadi faktor yang dominan, sedangkan variabel bentuk kota seperti halnya kepadatan, tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan. Walaupun variabel bentuk kota bukanlah variabel terpenting terkait penggunaan kereta api, tetapi variabel bentuk kota juga mempengaruhi pemakaian kereta api pada bagian-bagian yang berbeda di wilayah kota metropolitan. Temuan dari studi ini mendukung penerapan kebijakan untuk mengurangi ketergantungan pada kendaraan pribadi. Berbagai variabel selain bentuk kota yang mempengaruhi  pemilihan moda juga diidentifikasi.

Abstract

Abstrak : Dengan melihat pola jaringan  Jalan Tukad Yeh Aya, Jalan Tukad Batanghari, Jalan Tukad Barito dan Jalan Tukad Pakerisan terdapat peluang penerapan sistem satu arah untuk mengurangi kemacetan lalu lintas pada persimpangan. penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja simpang pada Jalan Tukad Musi - Jalan Tukad Batanghari - Jalan Tukad Yeh Aya dan untuk menganalisis kinerja Jalan Tukad Yeh Aya, Jalan Tukad Batanghari, Jalan Tukad Barito dan Jalan Tukad Pakerisan sebelum dan setelah pengelolaan lalu lintas sistem satu arah. Data yang digunakan meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer terdiri dari volume lalu lintas, geometrik persimpangan, sinyal dan tata guna lahan. Data sekunder terdiri dari data jumlah penduduk untuk menentukan faktor penyesuaian ukuran kota. Dari hasil kinerja simpang eksisting Tk. Batanghari – Tk. Yeh Aya diperoleh jam puncak pagi menghasilkan tundaan 883,86 det/smp,  jam puncak siang 1.206,36 det/smp, dan jam puncak sore 1295,00 det/smp, nilai tingkat pelayanan simpang  semua jam puncak adalah F. Hasil analisis kinerja Jalan Tukad Yeh Aya – Jalan Tukad Batanghari – Jalan Tukad Barito dan Tukad Pakerisan sebelum pengelolaan lalu lintas sistem diperoleh: volume lalu lintas bervariasi antara 671,6  smp/jam – 2967,6 smp/jam, kapasitas antara 2110,74 smp/jam – 2280,57 smp/jam, derajat kejenuhan antara 0,32 – 1,41, dan tingkat pelayanan B – F. Hasil analisis kinerja Jalan Tukad Yeh Aya – Jalan Tukad Batanghari – Jalan Tukad Barito dan Tukad Pakerisan setelah pengelolaan lalu lintas sistem diperoleh: volume lalu lintas bervariasi antara 494,0  smp/jam – 1189,8 smp/jam, kapasitas antara 2539,92 smp/jam – 2760,78 smp/jam, derajat kejenuhan antara 0,19 – 0,47, tingkat pelayanan A – C.Abstrack : By looking at the network pattern of Tukad Yeh Aya Road, Tukad Batanghari Road, Tukad Barito Road, and Tukad Pakerisan Road, there is a possibility for the application of the one-way traffic system to reduce traffic congestion at the intersections. Thus, based on this, a research was done aiming to evaluate the performance of the intersection at Tukad Musi Road- Tukad Batanghari Road- Tukad Yeh Aya Road and to analyze the performance of Tukad Yeh Aya Road, Tukad Batanghari Road, Tukad Barito Road, and Tukad Pakerisan Road before and after the application of the traffic management using the one-way traffic system. The data used include primary and secondary data. The primary data consist of traffic volume, intersection geometry, signals and land use, while the secondary data consist of the population data used to determine the adjustment factor for city size. From the results of the performance of the existing intersection Tk. Batanghari - Tk. Yeh Aya, the morning peak hour obtains delay of  883.86 sec/pcu, the afternoon peak hour - 1206.36 sec/pcu and the evening peak hour - 1295.00 sec/pcu, so that the value of the level of service of the intersection for all peak hours is F. The results of the analysis of the performance of Tukad Yeh Aya Road – Tukad Batanghari Road - Tukad Barito Road and Tukad Pakerisan Road before the traffic management using the one-way traffic system are: the traffic volume varies from 671.6 pcu/hour to 2967.6 pcu/hour, the capacity from 2110.74 pcu/hour to 2280.57 pcu/ hour, the degree of saturation from 0.32 to 1.41, and the level of service from B to F. The results of the analysis of the performance of Tukad Yeh Aya Road - Tukad Batanghari Road - Tukad Barito Road and Tukad Pakerisan Road after the traffic management using the one-way traffic system are: the traffic volume varies from 494.0 pcu/hour to 1189.8 pcu/hour, the capacity from 2539.92 pcu/hour to 2760.78 pcu/hour, the degree of saturation from 0.19 to 0.47, and the level of service from A to C.

Abstract

Abstrak : Sanur merupakan salah satu daerah di selatan Kota Denpasar yang memiliki keunggulan utama dibidang pariwisata. Terdapat banyak fasilitas yang digunakan untuk menunjang kegiatan pariwisata tersebut, salah satu diantaranya adalah pengadaan fasilitas hotel berbintang. Keberadaan hotel berbintang di daerah Sanur menyebabkan terjadinya bangkitan perjalanan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini antara lain untuk menyusun model bangkitan perjalanan yang terjadi pada hotel berbintang di daerah Sanur dan menganalisis besarnya bangkitan perjalanan pada hotel berbintang di daerah Sanur sepuluh tahun mendatang. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan menggunakan metode analisis regresi linier berganda, dapat disimpulkan model tarikan perjalanan kondisi jam sibuk berupa Y12 = -43,793 + 0,451X5 – 0,041X6 (satuan kendaraan/jam) dan Y32 = -22,121 + 0,281X5 – 0,041X6 (satuan smp/jam), sedangkan model tarikan perjalanan 14 jam berupa Y14 = 316,338 + 0,013X2 (satuan kendaraan/14 jam) dan Y34 = 234,480 + 0,009X2 (satuan smp/14 jam). Model produksi perjalanan kondisi jam sibuk berupa Y22 = 32,413 + 0,001X2 (satuan kendaraan/jam) dan Y41 = 14,162 + 0,001X2 (satuan smp/jam), sedangkan model produksi perjalanan 14 jam berupa Y24 = 281,168 + 0,013X2 (satuan kendaraan/14 jam) dan Y44 = 229,215 + 0,008X2 (satuan smp/14 jam). Prediksi bangkitan perjalanan untuk 10 tahun mendatang diprediksi menggunakan tiga jenis skenario, yaitu skenario pesimis, skenario moderate dan skenario optimis. Dari hasil prediksi tersebut, diperoleh prediksi tarikan perjalanan jam sibuk dalam kondisi skenario moderate sebesar 2.135 kendaraan/jam atau 1.307,3 smp/jam sedangkan prediksi tarikan perjalanan 14 jam diperoleh sebesar 6,875 kendaraan/14jam atau 4.775,1 smp/14jam. Prediksi produksi perjalanan jam sibuk dalam skenario moderate diperoleh sebesar 537 kendaraan/jam atau 518,7 smp/jam, sedangkan prediksi produksi perjalanan 14 jam diperoleh sebesar 6.840 kendaraan/14jam atau 4.265,4 smp/14jam.Abstract : Sanur is located in the southern city of Denpasar which has a major advantage in tourism. It has many facilities used to support tourism activities including star hotels. In fact, the presence of star hotels in Sanur generated trips which may contribute to traffic congestions. This study aims to develop trip generation models and to analyze trip generation for the next ten years respectively at star hotels in Sanur. Based on multiple linear regression analyses, it is concluded that the trip attraction model during a peak hour is Y12 = -43,793 + 0,451X5 – 0,041X6 (vehicles/hour) and Y32 = -22,121 + 0,281X5 – 0,041X6 (pcu/hour), while trip attraction model for 14 hours survey is Y14 = 316,338 + 0,013X2 (vehicles/14 hours) and Y34 = 234,480 + 0,009X2 (pcu/14 hours). Trip production model during a peak hour is Y22 = 32,413 + 0,001X2 (vehicles/hour) and Y41 = 14,162 + 0,001X2 (pcu/hour), and trip production model for 14 hours survey is Y24 = 281,168  + 0,013X2 (vehicles/14 hours) and Y44 = 229,215 + 0,008X2 (pcu/14  hours). Trip generations for the next 10 years are estimated using pessimistic, moderate and optimistic scenarios. As the results, based on a moderate scenario, predicted trip attractions during a peak hour are 2,135 vehicles/hour or 1,307.3 pcu/hour, while predictied trip attractions during 14 hours for the next 10 years are 6,875 vehicle/14 hours or  4,775.1 pcu/14 hours. Based on a moderate scenario, predicted trip productions during a peak hour are 537 vehicles/hour or 519 pcu/hour, while predicted trip productions during 14 hours are 6,840 vehicles/14 hours or 4,265.4 pcu/14 hours. Abstract

The increasing number of residents demands the provision of settlement facilities and infrastructure. Limited land is an obstacle to the development in the horizontal direction, especially the use of green open land which will cause land conversion. The limitation of the building height regulated by local regulations, as well as the local wisdom, namely vertical holiness can be a challenge related to the idea of building multi-storey buildings. When you want to enter the lower floors of the building, there is a feeling of doubt because there are other residents on the upper floors who step over. This study aims to reveal the relationship of vertical holiness with multi-storey building design and formulate vertical holiness as an effort to implement it in a design so that it can be accepted by the community. This study uses a methodology to examine the problem by interviewing the stakeholders and filling out the questionnaire, therefore, the relationship between vertical holiness and multi-storey building design can be obtained. The results of the study clearly confirm that there is indeed a correlation between vertical holiness and multi-storey building design. Thus, the design should pay attention to this vertical holiness. The study also encourages that the formulation of vertical holiness should be legally stated in regulation so that it is easily understood and accepted by the community.

Abstract

Bali Province in Indonesia is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world. The number of tourists visiting this province keeps increasing year by year parallel with the increase of the population of local citizens. Such a phenomenon will certainly increase travel demand and put pressure on the current transport infrastructure. Hence, transport infrastructure development is essential to support the travel demand. This study explores the possibility of implementing a new public transport system in the South Bali District, a district with numerous tourist attractions and activity centres. Data collection on the current transport system and land use in the district were carried out to understand potential corridors for public transport. A stated preference survey was also conducted to discover the public transport mode preferred by the respondents, encompassing tourists and local citizens. This study then recommends the type of public transport mode to be implemented in the district based on i) space availability, ii) respondent preference, and iii) ability to accommodate demand based on calculation. The study concludes that Automated Rapid Transit (ART) is a mode that has the highest potential to be implemented in South Bali Districts.

Abstract

Ruko Waingapu yang berlokasi di ruas Jalan Ahmad Yani merupakan tempat perbelanjaan padat di Waingapu yang tidak pernah sepi setiap harinya dari pengunjung dan pembeli karena menjual barang-barang kebutuhan pokok maupun sekunder yang lengkap. Hal ini mengakibatkan konflik terhadap lalulintas yang berada disekitarnya, yaitu diantaranya terjadinya penurunan kinerja ruas jalan akibat adanya aktivitas kendaraan berhenti atau parkir yang memiliki tujuan ke Ruko, kendaraan yang keluar masuk Ruko serta adanya aktivitas pejalan kaki menuju maupun keluar ruko.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Untuk menganalisis bangkitan pergerakan yang ditimbulkan oleh aktivitas di depan Ruko Waingapu (2) Untuk menganalisis kinerja ruas Jalan Ahmad Yani saat ini dengan dan tanpa adanya pengaruh bangkitan pergerakan di Ruko Waingapu. Dari hasil analisis diketahui: (1) Bangkitan pergerakan di Ruko Waingapu saat ini pada jam puncak tertinggi terjadi pada pukul 17.45-18.45 WITA yaitu sebesar 147 smp/jam. (2) Hasil analisis kinerja ruas jalan diketahui bahwa kapasitas ruas jalan sebesar 2066 smp/jam dengan derajat kejenuhan sebesar 0,25 pada jam puncak volume lalu lintas dan 0,25 pada jam puncak bangkitan pergerakan. Kecepatan yang terjadi ialah sebesar 13,72 km/jam pada jam puncak volume lalu lintas dan 13,7 km/jam pada jam puncak bangkitan pergerakan. Berdasarkan rasio Q/C dan kecepatan didapat tingkat pelayanan jalan tersebut terletak pada level F.
