Abstract

This research aims to improve learning process and students’ mathematics learning achievement by applying Inquiry Learning model. Subject of this research are students of VIIIA SMPN 4 Tambang in second semester of academic year 2018/2019 which consist of 29 students. This research is a classroom action research with 2 cycles. The instruments of this research are learning Instrument (Syllabus, Lesson Plans, and Activity Sheets) and data collecting instruments (observation Sheets for teacher and students) and Students’ Mathematic tests. The data collecting techniques in this research are observation techniques and test techniques. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative descriptive, while the students mathematic tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. Qualitative descriptive analysis results show an improvement of learning process after the implementation of the action (first and second cycle). Quantitative descriptive analysis shows the improvement in students’ mathematic scores. The number of students in the “very high” and “high” interval increases. While the number of students in the “very low”, “low”,and “medium” interval decreases. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the implementation of Inquiry Learning model can be improves the learning process and the students’ mathematics learning achievement in class of VIIIA SMPN 4 Tambang.

Abstract

This research aims to produce mathematics learning tools in the form of syllabus, lesson plans (RPP), and student worksheets (LKPD) based on learning models based on the problem of building flat side spaces for 8th-grade students of junior high school. This research uses a 4-D development model which includes four stages, namely: (1) define (defining); (2) design (planning); (3) develop (development); and (4) disseminate (spread). The research instrument used is the instrument of validity and practicality. The validity instrument is in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, lesson plans, and LKPD. The practical instrument is in the form of a student response questionnaire to the use of LKPD. The learning tools that have been compiled are then validated by three validators and revised according to suggestions from the validators. The valid learning tools were then tested in small groups with the subject of 6 students in grade 8th junior high school. Based on the data analysis and discussion results, mathematics learning tools in the form of Syllabus, RPP and LKPD based on learning models based on problems in the flat-sided space building material are considered very valid and practical to be used by 8th-grade students of junior high school.

Abstract

In the curriculum for 2013, it is proposed that one of the objectives of teaching mathematics: learners is expected to have problem-solving ability. The teacher is expected to increase the sudents activation in the learning process, especially the development of the ability to solve mathematical problems. In this context, the purpose of this study is to create produce of learning devices (syllabus, RPP and LKPD) of grade VII set material using model PBL to facilitate the ability to solve valid and practical criteria problems. The development model was used a model 4D (define, design, develop, desseminate). The research uses an instrument that is the learning device validation sheet (syllabus, RPP and LKPD). Based on data analysis, it was concluded that the problemb based mathematics learning model is valid. The results of 83% validation of the syllabus in valid categories, RPP 88% and LKPD 88% in highly valid categories. The LKPD developed was declared practical in a small group trials with an average student response 72% in practice.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an electronic module for derivatives of algebraic functions to facilitate the mathematical comprehension ability of class XI senior high school students who have met the requirements for validity and practicality. The development model used is the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The sample in this assessment is class XII MAN 2 students in Pekanbaru City. Two data collection instruments for the electronic module development are a validation sheet to see the electronic module's validity level and a student response questionnaire to see the electronic module's practicality level. Based on the validation results from three experts, it was obtained that the electronic module has an average score of 3.47 with a very valid category. The trials conducted on students were carried out twice, namely small group trials and then large group trials. Based on the results of a small group trial of students, it was obtained that the electronic module had an average score of 3.67 with a very practical category. Based on the results of a large group trial of students, it was obtained that the electronic module had a score of 3.78 with a very practical category. Therefore, it is concluded that the electronic module of derived material of algebraic functions developed has met the requirements of validity and practicality to facilitate the mathematical comprehension ability of class XI SMA / MA students.
