Abstract

Considered a regression model yi=f (ti)+ei ,i= 1,2 ,3 ,....,n where ei assumed iid N(0, ). To found the best estimator of fungtion f in regression waveletswill be associated with chosen threshold parameter t. The Cross-Validation method is a goodto choose the parameter t.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was based on the mathematics learning outcomes of students at class III SDN 25 Bagan Melibur. There were only 13 of 24 students (54,17%) who achieve the Mastery Minimum Criteria on topic about using the measuring tool in problem solving and the learning process is still teacher centered. This research is action research which aims to increase the mathematics learning outcomes of students at class III SDN 25 Bagan Melibur through the implentation of cooperative learning in type student team achievement division (STAD). The subject is 24 students at class III SDN 25 Bagan Melibur which consist of 10 boys and 14 girls with the heterogenous ability level. The instruments of data collection were observation sheets and test of mathematic learning outcomes. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative desciptive, while the test of mathematic learning outcomes was analyzed in quantitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive showed that there is an improvement of the previous learning process to the first and second cycle. The result showed an increasing number of students who achieve the Mastery Minimum Criteria from the basic score with the percentage 54,17% to 75% on the first daily test and 83,33% on the second daily test. Based on that result, it can be concluded that the implentation of Cooperative Learning in type student team achievement division (STAD) can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of students at class III SDN 25 Bagan Melibur on second semester academic year 2014/2015. Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase mathematics achievement with applied the learning model of Quantum Teaching. The subject of this research is student of class IX.5 SMPN 8 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2014/2015, which amounted to 34 students, consist of 17 boys and 17 girls. The research consisit of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. At the end of every cycle daily exams will be implemented. Data collection is done by observation and tests in the form of daily tests. The result of research shows that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Most of students were excited and active in learning process, such as while they were presenting questions and giving the conclusion of learning. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to daily tests I and II. The number percentage of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic, daily test I and daily test II  are respectively 52.94%, 61.76%, and 82.35%. Results of this research indicates that appication of the learning model of Quantum Teaching can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievement from the students at class IX.5 SMPN 8 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2014/2015. Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve mathematics achievement in SD Negeri 013 Sintong by implement cooperative learning model approach to structural Think Pair Square. Subjects were students grade III who have the academic ability of the heterogeneous. This research is a class action research with two cycles. Each a cycle has four stages, the stages are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The result from the observation page shows that teacher-student activities had performed well after action has been made. An increase in the number of students who achieved at UH KKM end of each cycle compared to the number of students who achieve KKM on base score, the number of students who scored 20 and 30 more than to the development of the number of students who received grades 5 and 10. An action is deemed successful when the number of students that reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria had increased by the first and second daily exams. The number of students that reached Minimum Mastery Criteria from the base score, the first and the second daily exams, in that order are 15%, 30%, dan 55%. The result of this research shows that the Think Pair Square Cooperative Learning Approaches can improve the mathematics achievement from the students of class III SD Negeri 013 Sintong at the second semester of academic years 2014/2015. Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by limited mathematics learning tools using learning approaches and models that can support learning in the curiculum 2013. The purpose of this research is to produce mathematical learning tools consist of syllabus, lesson plan and student worksheet that use learning discovery model in quadrilateral and triangular topic for valid students of junior high School and qualify the practicality requirement. The research method used is the ADDIE development model, which consists of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The research instrument used is validity instrument and practicality instrument. The validity instrument is a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of syllabus, lesson plans and student worksheet. The practicality instrument is in the form of observation sheet of learning process implementation and questionnaire of student response . Learning device developed are validated by three validators. The research trials were conducted in SMPN 17 Pekanbaru which is tested in a small group and large group. Small group trial aims to assess the practicability based on student response questionnaire, while the large group to assess the practicability based on the observation sheet of learning process implementation and student response questionnaire. Based on the data analysis, it can be conclude that the average value for syllabus are 4,6; lesson plans are 4,4; student worksheet are 4,4 from the 5,00 scale, so the resulting device is catagorized as very valid.. The student worksheet valued as very practical with mean score for small group and large group testing are 92,1% and 93,4%. The lesson plan also valued as very practical with mean percentage is 98,33%. These categories mean that the lesson plan and student worksheet are feasible to used in school.Key Words: Development Research, Mathematics Learning Tools, Discovery Learning Model, ADDIE Model

Abstract

Kenyataan banyak mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam pembuktian matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat penguasaan dan kesulitan mahasiswa dalam membaca bukti dan mengkonstruksi bukti. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika FKIP UR yang sedang kuliah Analisis Real yang berjumlah 12 orang. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah lembar soal tes kemampuan membaca bukti dan mengkontruksi bukti, lembar angket, dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data adalah diskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Rata-rata kemampuan membaca bukti adalah 42,2  tergolong dalam kategori rendah; (2) Rata-rata kemampuan mengkontruksi bukti adalah 40,0 tergolong dalam kategori rendah. Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase mathematics outcomes by applied the learning model of Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research is students in VII3 class of SMPN 8 Pekanbaru in academic years 2017/2018, which amounted to 36 students, consist of 17 boys and 19 girls. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students Mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative descriptive, while the students mathematic tests were analyzed in statistic quantitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive showed an improvement of learning process from before the action to the first and second cycle. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process, such as while they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning.The results of this research showed the number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) for knowledge increase from the basic score (38,89%) to (55,56%) at the first test and to (72,20%) at the second test. For the skills, the score increase from (55,56%) at the first test, to (69,44%) at the second test. The results of this research showed that appication of the learning model of Problem Based Learning can improve learning process and increase mathematics outcomes for students in VII3 class of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaruin academic years 2017/2018 for the subject matter Algebra Operations and Functions.Keywords : Mathematics Outcomes, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

Abstract: Learning in schools must be well planned, one of which is to create learning tools that refer to the 2013 curriculum. This research produces learning tools (syllabus, Learning Implementation Plan, and Student Worksheets) using the inquiry model in the progression and series material. This research is a research and development (R&D) using the 4-D model. The research instrument was an instrument of validity in the form of a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the syllabus, RPP and LKPD and practical instruments in the form of a teacher's questionnaire response to the Syllabus, RPP and LKPD, a questionnaire for students' responses to LKPD, and an observation sheet on the implementation of learning.Validation data analysis results obtained an average value for the syllabus is 3.53 in the category of very valid which means that the syllabus is feasible to use; and the average value for the RPP is 3.61 and LKPD is 3.53 in the very valid category which means that the RPP and LKPD are worth testing. The results of practicality data analysis in small group trials were 3.61; Large group trials found that the teacher response questionnaire was 3.79; student response questionnaire was 3.62; and the implementation of the learning process is 3.76 in the very practical category which means that the Syllabus, RPP and LKPD are appropriate to be used in schools.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Tools, Inquiry Model, Development Research, 4-D Development Model

Abstract

Most of the lecturers do not give great attention or not considered the importance of teaching materials. This is reinforced by the lack of existed teaching materials that to supports the lectures. This study aims to develop competency-based teaching materials in for the subjects of Initial Value Problem and Boundary Condition (IVPBC) to build students higher-order thinking skills. This research is a development research consisting of three main stages, namely preliminary analysis, product design, and development. The object of this research is competence-based teaching materials in the subject of the initial value problem and boundary condition itself. After designing the teaching materials, then it was tested and validated by experts. The instrument used is a validation sheet consisting of 35 statement items. The result of the research shows that all validators have approved every aspect of assessment of teaching materials that are (1) relevance, (2) accuracy, (3) completeness of the presentation, (4) presentation system, (5) conformity of the presentation with the demand of student-centered learning, (6) presentation technique, (7) Indonesian language compliance and (8) legibility and communicativeness. As the conclusion, the developed teaching materials are valid and can be used on a wide scale of teaching.

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is students low in mathematical of grade at SMP Negeri 1 Dumai. The aims of research is to improve learning process and to increase student mathematics achievement with applying the learning model of Problem Based Learning. This research is classroom action research. The subject of this research is student of class VIII2 SMP Negeri 1 Dumai in academic years 2018/2019, which amounted to 32 students, consist of 15 boys and 17 girls. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle have four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments of data collection in this research is observation sheets that consisting of the identity of the observation sheet, filling instruction, indicators that refer to PBL steps, descriptors and observations and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets is analyzed in qualitative desciptive, while the students mathematic tests is analyzed in quantitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive show an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. Most of students are very confidence and active in learning process, such as while they are finishing mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning. The results of this study indicate the number of students who reached Minimum Mastery Criteria of knowledge increase from basic score to quiz-I and quiz-II. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematics about knowledge of the basic score (31,25%) to the first quiz (43,75%) to the second quiz (62,5%). For the skills of basic score (37,5%) to the first quiz (46,88%) to the second quiz (81,25%). From these data it can be concluded that the application of Problem Based Learning can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievement from the students at class VIII2 SMP Negeri 1 Dumai in academic years 2018/2019 for the subject relation and fungtion.Key Words: Students’ Mathematic Achievement, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research
