Abstract

Abstract. The Style of Śailendra Statues Beyond the Jawa Island. A dynasty by the name Śailendra was known as a ruler dynasty in Jawa for about a century long (8th—9th CE). Its influence in politic, art, and religion (Buddha) was quite remarkable. From archaeological data, evidences of the dynasty’s influence are found in Sumatra, Malay Peninsula, and southern Thailand. Inscription evidences indicate the dynasty developed cooperation with the ruling kingdoms in Sumatra, Malay Peninsula, and North India (Nālanda) in politics and religion matters. The implications of this cooperation are reflected on statues’ art style. This paper is about the style of statues found outside their origin: the statues from Sumatra and Malay Peninsula. Information from inscriptions and monument ornamentations are used as supporting data. Abstrak: Dalam satu periode yang berlangsung sekitar satu abad lamanya (abad ke-8-9 Masehi), satu dinasti yang dikenal dengan nama Śailendra berkuasa di Jawa. Pengaruh dalam bidang politik, seni, dan ajaran (Buddha) cukup luas. Berdasarkan data arkeologi yang sampai kepada kita, buktibukti pengaruh dinasti ini ditemukan sampai di Sumatra, Semenanjung Tanah Melayu, dan Thailand Selatan. Sumber-sumber prasasti mengindikasikan bahwa dinasti ini telah menjalin kerjasama dibidang politik dan agama dengan kerajaan di Sumatra, Semenanjung Tanah Melayu, dan India Utara (Nālanda). Implikasi dari kerjasama tersebut tercermin dalam langgam arca-arca yang ditemukan. Makalah ini menguraikan tentang langgam arca-arca yang ditemukan di luar tempat asalnya dengan sampel arca-arca dari Sumatra dan Semenanjung Tanah Melayu. Sebagai data bantu untuk interpretasi adalah prasasti-prasasti dan ornamen dalam sebuah bangunan.

Abstract

Situs Kompleks Percandian Bumiayu yang terletak di Desa Bumiayu, Kecamatan Tanah Abang, Kabupaten Muara Enim, Sumatra Selatan. Kompleks Percandian bercirikan agama Hindu ini yang sangat luas tidak mungkin diteliti tanpa perencanaan penelitian yang matang. Selain itu Pemanfaatan Situs Bumiayu untuk kepentingan agama, sosial, parawisata, pendidikan, ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan kebudayaan harus mengikuti kaidah-kaidah dan rambu-rambu yang berlaku. Abstract. Bumiayu Temple Complex Site is located at Bumiayu Village, Tanah Abang District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. The very vast temple complex with Hindu characteristics is impossible to be investigated without careful research plan. Furthermore, utilization of Bumiayu site for religious, social, tourism, education, science, technology, and cultural purposes must comply with proper rules and guidelines.

Abstract

AbstractThe results of preliminary observations showed that student engagement in the learning is still low with an average of 35.83%. This study aimed to collect data and precise information on implementing the Jigsaw technique to improve students' engagement in civic education instruction. The research method used is descriptive in the form of collaborative classroom action research. The subjects studied were thirty VII grade students of SMP Kartika XVII-1 Sungai Raya. Data collection techniques used were direct observation techniques, with observation sheets of teacher ability in preparation and implementing instructions, and student activity observation sheets as the data collection tools. This research was conducted in 3 cycles with the results collected as follows, the ability of teachers to plan instructions from the cycle I obtained an averagescore of 3.10 with a good category, an average score of 3.47 with a good category in cycle II, and an average score of 3.94 with an excellent category in cycle III. The ability of teachers to implement instructions from the cycle I obtained an average score of 3.04 with a good category, an average score of 3.46 with a good category in cycle II, and an average score of 3.95 with an excellent category in cycle III. Student engagement in the initial observations with an average value of 35.83% was obtained with a very low category; the cycle I obtained an average value of 62.08% with a sufficient category; cycle II obtained an average value of 76.25% with a good category; cycle III obtained an average value of 85.00% with a very high category. Grounded on the findings, it can be concluded that there is an improvement in each cycle. Therefore, the jigsaw technique can increase class VII Kartika XVII-1 Sungai Raya students engagements in Civic Education instruction.Keywords: Civic Education, Cooperative Learning Model Jigsaw Technique, Student Engagement.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the use of Make A Match learning model to improve the students’ learning outcomes in Civic Education subject at class X MIA of SMA Taman Mulia. The conducted study comprises the teaching and learning process using the applied learning model and the analysis of the learning results. This is a descriptive study in the form of a survey in which the discussion is presented qualitatively. The subject of the research was the tenth-grade students of Science class at SMA Taman Mulia. The data collection techniques applied were direct communication and observation. The data analysis comprises 1. Data evaluation from interviews and observation such as field notes, personal documents, official documents, pictures, photos, 2. Data reduction, 3. Data validation, and 4. Data interpretation. Abstract

AbstractThe thesis entitled: The Analysis of Students' Learning Ways by Using Discovery Learning Model in PPKn Subject on the Eleventh Grade : The research design that used in this research is descriptive study with the form of qualitative research. The techniques of data collection that used in this research are through observation, interview and documentation. According to the result of data processing and the data analysis, it could be interpreted as follows: 1. Analyzed the whole data from the observation, interview and documentation in the form of pictures that taken in the learning activity. 2. Reduced the data by making the abstraction which is an effort to make the main conclusion, process and the statements that need to be kept in order to make it stay on the research domain. 3. Arranged the data into units. 4. Checked the research validity. 5. Interpreted the data, by processing the result of the research into the substantive theory that has been done in order to get the conclusion in the learning activity by using Discovery Learning model. According to the result of the research, it can be concluded that the application of Discovery Learning improve the argumentation skill and complex thinking in science .Keywords: Discovery Learning,  Learning Ways, PPKn

Abstract

AbstractThis research was implemented due to the low number of students that showed their interest in listening to the material explaining by the teacher. The goal of this research was to make the teaching and learning process be more useful for the students. Therefore, the researcher was doing an experimental study by using contextual model (contextual teaching and learning) which was aimed to know the effect of the use of contextual model (contextual teaching and learning) to the students’ learning result of class XI IPS 4 at SMAN 4 Pontianak. The research method used was experimental study method in pre-experimental design one-group pretest-postest design form. In pre-test, the average of students’ score was 69.68, meanwhile in post-test the average of students’ score was 79.84. As the result of the research finding in paired test sample, t-test showed that the number of significancy (2-tailed) was 0.000. This finding proved that the significancy number (2-tailed) <0.05 which showed the effect of contextual model (contextual teaching and learning) to the students’ learning result in PPKN subject of class XI IPS 4 at SMAN 4 Pontianak. The result of the calculation of the effect size was a strong effect since the number of the effect size was 1.562>1.00. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of contextual model (contextual teaching and learning) was effectively affect the students’ learning result especially for “Faktor Pendorong dan Penghambat Persatuan dan Kesatuan Bangsa” material. Keywords: Contextual Model, Effect, The result of teaching and learning process of PPKN subject

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to determine the effectiveness of problem based learning model to increase the students’ learning outcomes in the Civic Education Subject. This is an experimental study on the 10th-grade Social 3 Students of SMA Negeri 10 Pontianak. This study was conducted in the form of pre-experimental with one-group pretest-posttest design. 32 students participated in the study. The research instruments used are 15 multiple-choice test items for the pretest and 15 for the posttest. The average scores collected from the pretest and posttest are 78,81 and 93. Accordingly, it indicates that there is a difference in the results of students’ learning outcomes; therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. With the effect size by 1,57 (high category), it is concluded that the applied learning model highly improved the students’ learning outcomes in the Civic Education subject at Grade 10 Social 3 SMA Negeri 10 Pontianak, especially on the material discussing Threat to the state in the frame of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.Keywords: Effectiveness, Learning Model, Problem Based Learning, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

AbstractThe lack of motivations in learning that results in passive students in class activity have been a concern in this study. This study aims to find out the effectiveness of cooperative learning model using a jigsaw to improve students’ motivation in learning Civic Education. This is an experimental study on the tenth-grade students of SMA Islam Bawari Pontianak in the form of a quasi-experimental using non-equivalent control group design. Thirty-seven students from class X IIS 1 engaged in the control group, and Thirty-four from class X IIS 4 took part in the experimental group. The research instruments used were observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The averages of learning motivation on the control group in meeting 1 and 2 are respectively 66,66% (high category) and 67,12% (high category), and in the experimental groups, the averages in meeting 1 and 2 are 78,12% (high category) and 80,94 (very high category). Based on the calculation, the effect size attained is 0,50, medium category. It shows that the applied learning model improves students’ motivation better than using a lecture method. Therefore, cooperative learning model using jigsaw can improve the class X IIS 4 students’ motivation in learning Civic Education at SMA Islam Bawari Pontianak.  Keywords: Cooperative Learning Model, Effectiveness, Jigsaw, Learning Motivation Civic Education

Abstract

ABSTRACT                 In this research suppose to know the effectiveness of quantum learning model to increase motivation student learning in X IIS class at SMA 1 Islamiyah Pontianak in PPKn subject learning. The research method is experiment method in pre eksperimental design form and the research design One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research subject is X IIS class of SMA 1 Islamiyah Pontianak the determination process which being the research subject is considered to  the lowest motivation in student learning. The collective data tools are observation, interview, questioner and documentation base on the result of the average in pretest and post test are 77,77 and 84,04 which means there are having the differences in before and after in use the quantum learning model. Base on the data analysis in using test t, the significance result (sig. 2-tailed) is 0,000. So, the hipotesist test Ho rejected and Ha accepted, because 0,000 < 0,05. It shows the use of quantum learning is effective in learning process in PPKn subject at X IIS class of SMA 1 Islamiyah Pontianak. The effect size in students motivation learning is 0,53 in medium class category. Abstract

AbstractThis research is a qualitative research. Data collection techniques in this research is to use observation techniques, interviews, and documentary studies. While the data collection tools used are interview guides, observation guides, log books and archives. The results showed that 1) Types of variations in the use of learning resources by PPKn teachers in Pontianak's Panca Bhakti High School were less varied. 2) Why teachers do not use varied learning resources in PPKn learning, based on the results of research conducted by researchers at Pontianak's Panca Bhakti High School, this is because learning resources used are only based on the needs of PPKn teachers, and because of time constraints in the use of learning resources. 3) In the selection of learning resources by the Panca Bhakti Pontianak High School PPKn teacher it was already good. This is seen from the teacher's attention to the accuracy of learning resources with subject matter and instructional goals, besides the teacher is very concerned about the ease of getting learning resources, and the teacher is very concerned about the suitability of learning resources with student abilities. Keyword : Utilization of Learning Resources, High School.
