Abstract

This study aims to determine whether motivation and compensation can affect the performance of non-PNS employees. Respondents drawn from this study are all non-civil servant employees, so we use a census, with a total of 40 respondents. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis which aims to describe the performance of non-PNS servants. Data collection using questionnaires. The data from the questionnaire is in ordinal form and it is necessary to transform it into an interval scale. Data transformation can be performed using the Method of Successive Interval (MSI). To answer the research objectives, multiple regression analysis was used by first testing the classical assumptions. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between motivation and compensation on the performance of non-PNS employees. Worker motivation and compensation provided by an organization will improve the performance of non-PNS employees. Keyword: Motivation, Compensation, Employee Performance

Abstract

Abstract

West Java is the most populated province in Indonesia, housing 18% of the total population, and its Gini Ratio shows the prevalence of income inequality. Previous studies have shown a relationship between education and income inequality, partly derived from inequality in education. This study explores the condition of education in regencies/cities in West Java by mapping based on agriculture/non-agriculture classifications, length of the school and life expectancy in 4 quadrants. Significant factors that determine a region in a particular quadrant are explored. Quadrant I is a region of non-agricultural basis, and the average education has graduated junior high. Quadrant III is also a non-agricultural base characterized by elementary school graduates. Quadrant IV is an agricultural base with graduates from elementary school. There is no region in quadrant II, a rural base with junior high graduates. With secondary data from 2017, multinomial logit regression was used for analysis. The result showed life expectancy in quadrants I and III was greater than in IV. Population and gender empowerment index characterize an area in quadrants I and III rather than IV. This is clearer when one looks at the marginal effect where the variable population growth and the development of the gender empowerment index significantly reduce the area's chances of being in quadrant IV. Based on the typology results, we suggest that the government pay more attention to areas in quadrant IV so that educational inequality in West Java can be reduced.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether there are gender differences in students' interests seen from their self-efficacy. The first research problem is to find out whether there is an effect of self-efficacy on the interest in entrepreneurship, and secondly, is there a gender difference in the interest in entrepreneurship seen in self-efficacy. The case was taken at the Faculty of Economics, Sangga Buana University. Quantitative research methods are used to answer research problems by taking primary data. The amount of data collected was 93 respondents with a sampling approach using the Slovin formula, consisting of 39 men and 54 women. The data analysis technique used is descriptive associative. The gender variable is included in the model in the form of a dummy variable. The results of the study show that there is an effect of self-efficacy on student interest, but there is insufficient evidence of gender differences in this regard. The implication of this research is the need to increase self-efficacy in students in every lesson so that there is more interest in entrepreneurship.

Abstract

The study aimed to see income disparities between employment status in return on education from 2000 to 2014 using IFLS data. First, this study analyzes the choice of worker status with the multinomial logit method. Second, this study estimating return on education by entering a correction from the first stage. The results show marginal differences in effects between job status. The smallest return on educational was on the status of self-employed employment, and the biggest was working with the help of permanent workers. Differences return indicate income inequality based on their employment status. Return on education declined from 2000 to 2014.
