Abstract

One of the private institutions in Bandung, Universitas Kristen Maranatha, operates under the tridharma of higher education and the ICE (integrity, care, excellence) values approach. The application of these values is demonstrated in the execution of community service activities by several teaching staff from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design as material formulators as well as skills trainers/teachers in the form of creativity training through the application of basic thermoplastic designs to Trimulia Junior High School students in Bandung. Through the use of thermoplastics, this activity is meant to help kids develop their artistic creativity. About 100 persons participated in the activity, divided into 4 classes of 25 pupils each with the help of a lecturer and/or a student. This activity can achieve its goal of fostering a knowledge of creativity through creative design thinking by allowing participants to transform the materials in their immediate environment to create things with practical and aesthetic value.

Abstract

The Coffee Shop business is quite promising in Pontianak City, this is shown by the mushrooming of people drinking Coffee in cafes. The policy of implementing PPKM during the Covid –19 Pandemic made the Coffee Shop business messy, this was because they lost a lot of their customers which could lead to bankruptcy. This PKM was implemented in a Coffee shop business in Pontianak City. The method used in implementing this PKM is direct assistance to partners. The result of this PKM implementation is that various strategies can be used to revive the Coffee Shop business. Managerial strategies that can be carried out include improving customer service by providing offers to prospective customers in groups. Offer Coffee drink products in gold to loyal customers because loyal customers have limited time to enjoy drinking Coffee at the café. On the other hand, Coffee Shop business people are educated to be able to prepare Coffee bean ingredients which are processed into Coffee powder in the framework of Product Diversification.

Abstract

Sekolah Penggerak are schools that are required to implement the Kurikulum Merdeka. One obstacle that Sekolah Penggerak experienced in implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka is the low competence of school principals and teachers in compiling and processing assessment results and report cards. Workshops are a relatively effective way of developing the competence of school principals and teachers. Therefore, this service aims to strengthen the competence of school principals and teachers regarding assessments and report cards through workshop activities. The workshop was also chosen because it involves direct interaction with participants through relevant worksheets. The participants of the workshop were eighteen people consisting of three junior high school principals, three high school principals, six teachers of the junior high school, and six teachers of the high school who were members learning committee. Workshop activities are carried out for eight lesson hours using worksheets from the government. Data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis. The dedication results show that the workshop activities are going well, especially the discussion activities. Although, the time allocation for activities tends to be more. In general, each school has been able to prepare assessments well, although it is still constrained in making criteria for achieving learning objectives. In addition, the assessment editor designed by the school still needs to be more optimal because there are still schools that compile an assessment rubric for that section. Likewise, when processing the assessment results, it was found that schools needed to be able to formulate a formula to determine student scores. In contrast to the previous results, when participants compiled report cards, information was obtained that all schools could prepare report cards properly, including in compiling descriptions related to student competency achievements.

Abstract

Financial literacy is important for MSME actors to manage and develop their businesses easily. The financial management carried out by Arum Manis MSMEs is still very simple, by not separating between their own capital and business capital. This community service activity aims to educate and assist the owners and employees of Arum Manis MSMEs about savings and pension funds. The method used a qualitative method with primary data sources by distributing questionnaires to owners and employees of Arum Manis MSMEs. Descriptive analysis is used to explain and analyze the achievement of the percentage of respondents who answered yes and no. The results of community service activities include (a) 14% of respondents have savings and atm (b) 100% of respondents believe they can support their families until old age and have investments in the form of land and houses (c) 100% of respondents have never heard of a pension fund program and have no desire to have a pension fund program. These community service activity results show that owners and employees have sufficient knowledge about savings but no desire to have a pension fund.

Abstract

Chronic pain in older adults causes them to experience disability which causes dependence in fulfilling daily needs (ADL). The family as a caregiver for the elderly is the main support system in the care process at home. An increase in knowledge and skills is needed by caregivers to improve their coping and reduce the burden of care. Community service activities are carried out by providing material such as the concept of chronic pain, training in care skills and accompanying home visits. Participants were families who cared for chronically ill elderly with 36 respondents. Assessment was carried out using pre-test and post-test knowledge and family readiness in caring for the elderly. The results of the assessment of family readiness to care for the elderly found that families who cared for the elderly with chronic pain had readiness in caring for the elderly (mean value = 3.91 ± 0.28), but there was data that families were not prepared to face emergency situations (mean value = 1 .63 ± 0.83). The results of caregiver training activities showed an increase in knowledge with a mean post test = 8.48 ± 1.21, an increase from the mean pre-test = 5.21 ± 1.73 and a difference in value of 3.27. The next suggestion is that there will be training that contains material on elderly care and stress management in the family so that it is able to improve the quality of care provided to the elderly.

Abstract

Changes in the higher education curriculum with the concept of Independent Learning are responded to through various teaching-learning patterns. This situation needs to be addressed with an understanding on the part of educational institutions that the face-to-face learning model in the classroom is not the only best way. Students need to gain learning experience in the real world so that the development of their character, attitudes, and skills can be honed properly. Unfortunately, this often becomes more complex, when project assignments given are completely different from student competencies. In this case, many lecturers would prefer conventional learning with a regular curriculum which seems more responsible. For this reason, it is necessary to be flexible, especially with supervisors and university partners to optimize students' willingness to go into society as an opportunity for both students and the community to serve.

Abstract

UKM during the Covid-19 pandemic experienced a decrease in turnover. As a result of the implementation of restrictions on community activities, many UKM are no longer operating due to the spread of Covid-19. Therefore this PKMS activity aims to help Pempek snakehead fish in Palembang City in overcoming business problems during the pandemic. The Snakehead Fish Pempek UKM that became partners in this activity were the Snakehead Fish Pempek UKM Anita Apriliani and other UKM in the pre-cooperative formation. The stages of the activity are carried out through four activities including 1) holding member meetings/meetings which are held regularly and continuously in order to disseminate information about cooperatives including regarding the concept of cooperatives, cooperative advantages and rules related to cooperatives and the procedures for establishing cooperatives, counseling given to UKM so that they understand cooperatives as a whole, 2) provide assistance to UKM in preparing work programs jointly and carried out by implementers (administrators and business units) in accordance with a joint agreement and at the end of each implementation a participatory evaluation is carried out, 3) compiling written rules/norms agreed upon and adhered to. These rules will be contained in the Cooperative AD/ART as well as the preparation of press reports (special regulations) for rules that have not been included in the ART, 4) the preparation of candidates for cooperative management and supervisors, the vision and mission of the cooperative, the minutes of the cooperative and other supporting files such as the necessary documentation of activities in terms of establishing a cooperative to a notary. The results of the activity show that this activity provides new skills for UKM Pempek Anita Apriliani and other UKM. This can be seen from the formation of a Pre-Cooperative with the name Kembang Putri Dadar Cooperative with a total of 9 UKM. The Pre-Cooperative organizational structure that has been formed consists of a chairman, secretary, treasurer and two supervisors. Pre-Cooperative was formed to make it easier to obtain raw materials, capital and marketing. The formation of the Pre-Cooperative is expected to grow the economy both locally and nationally.

Abstract

DPT immunization in children under five has one side effect, one of which is fever. One of the treatments for reducing fever in children after DPT immunization is by using complementary therapy, namely the use of onion compresses. Information on complementary therapies has not been maximally provided to the community, especially to parents of children under five after DPT immunization. In the midst of this covid pandemic, this information must still be provided, one of which is by providing information through the use of e-leaflets about the use of shallots for reducing fever in children after DPT immunization. Posyandu cadres are community members chosen from and by the community, willing and able to work together in various community activities voluntarily to deal with individual health problems and regular posyandu services. Through this posyandu cadre, it can be used as a means for disseminating information through e-Leaflets. It is hoped that this community service will increase the knowledge of posyandu cadres, so that they can provide information to mothers who have toddlers to use red bottom compresses as an alternative to reduce fever in toddlers after DPT immunization.

Abstract

The Arrahman Foundation, located in Yogyakarta, is a social foundation aiming to increase orphanage residents' independence through the entrepreneurship program. One of the efforts to increase the independence of the residents of the orphanage so that they can become entrepreneurs is to collaborate with the Faculty of Art and Design and the Faculty of Business Maranatha Christian University in collaboration with Duta Wacana Christian University to provide training in tie-dye technique, handbag, determining production cost, profit, and break-even analysis. The participants were 11 residents of the orphanage aged 19-22 years old, the majority were women and had a high school education. The training methods with explanation, demo, and hands-on methods. As a result, participants can produce the creation of tie-dye and handbag. The results of data collection through the questionnaire regarding the knowledge about production costs, profit, and break-even. The results of the Wilcoxon sign rank test method using SPSS, there are different knowledge before and after training, and the knowledge increase after training. The implication is participants can produce and understand the basics of cost and profit.

Abstract

Science learning in several schools in the Serang district still rarely conducts practicum, although practicum kits are available. Therefore, it is necessary to train teachers who are members of the Science MGMP Serang District. The purpose of the activity is to improve the skills of teachers to design simple practicums and use practicum kits. Activities were carried out in the duration of 34 JP in the form of training and assignment activities. Training session 1 was conducted online with output in the form of practicum designs made by teachers, while session 2 training was carried out offline at SMP Negeri 1 Ciruas. Academic evaluation is carried out on the collected tasks and non-academic evaluation includes participants' responses to training activities. The data obtained were analyzed in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results of the activity showed that teachers had varied teaching experiences, and the number of assignments collected was 40 practicum designs. Teachers are skilled in drafting practicum designs and using kits well. Teachers are satisfied with the training activities and hope that the activities can be carried out sustainably. After the activity, teachers are expected to be able to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained to carry out practicum activities in learning science at their respective schools
