Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini merupakan kegiatan yang akan dilakukan dengan mitra para nelayan pengguna jaring insang di Desa Teluk Majelis Kecamatan Kuala Jambi Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur. Target luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah : 1. Nelayan dapat mengenal/memahami teknik merakit jaring insang, 2. Nelayan dapat menyusun komponen komponen jaring insang sesuai kebutuhan dan ukuran, 3. Nelayan dapat merakit secara mandiri jaring insang. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan metoda penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Program ini dilakukan terhadap nelayan yang mempunyai mata pencaharian sebagai nelayan penggunaa jaring insang. Permasalahan utama adalah; nelayan pada umumnya belum memahami teknik merakit jaring insang yang benar. Nelayan belum memahami komponen-komponen dan kebutujan biaya untuk merakit menjadi konstruksi jaring insang, Sehingga hal tersebut menjadi salah satu kendala nelayan terhadap kelangsungan usahanya dalam meningkatkan produksi hasil tangkap. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut perlu dilakukan solusi peningkatan pengetahuan melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang: Penyuluhan Tentang Merakit Jaring Insang Berdasarkan Ukuran Mata Jaring di Desa Teluk Majelis Kuala Jambi Tanjung Jabung Timur

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan teknologi terapan pengolahan mie sagu dengan fortifikasi tepung ikan biang sebagai usaha varian baru bagi Kube “Dian Lestari” Selatpanjang dalam rangka pengembangan usaha industri kecil berkelanjutan di Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti Provinsi Riau. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian dan pelatihan melibatkan pihak pengelola dan karyawan industri pengolahan mie sagu Kube (UMKM) “Dian Lestari Desa Alahair Selatpanjang. Produk mie sagu dengan fortifikasi tepung ikan biang 2% memberikan varian baru dengan tampilan rupa mie rapi, utuh, dan berwarna cerah. Rasa mie sagu menjadi lebih gurih terasa sedikit ikan, aroma mie sagu masih dominan beraroma khas mie sagu, dengan tekstur mie sagu masih kenyal dan kompak seperti mie sagu kontrol (tanpa penambahan tepung ikan biang). Hasil uji coba pada konsumen terhadap mie sagu varian baru dengan penambahan tepung ikan biang memberikan kriteria rasa unik, gurih dan enak dengan tekstur yang masih stabil kenyal dan kompak. Produk mie sagu-ikan memiliki kandungan air 23,65%, protein 4,37%, lemak 0,86%, abu 1,21% dan karbohidrat 69,91%.

Abstract

Mangrove forests have many roles, which can be grouped into biological, physical-chemical, and economic roles. Grey mangrove (Avicennia sp) fruit has the potential as a raw material for cakes that are still underutilized. The purpose of community service is 1. To increase the value of mangrove ecosystems through the processing of grey mangrove as ingredients for making cakes in Sungai Kayu Ara Village, Sungai Apit District 2. To increase the types of cake making materials for communities around mangrove forests in particular, and 3. Improving the community's economy which continues to increase public awareness to preserve the mangrove ecosystem in Sungai Kayu Ara Village, Sungai Apit District. The results of this counseling activity showed that the participants seriously listened to the material delivered by the extension team from beginning to end. The participants can understand the material presented well and play an active role in the question and answer session, discussion, and directly involved with the speakers and students in making muffins and puddings. As many as 90% of participants who never knew the gey mangrove fruit could be turned into flour after counseling became all of them. Participants who previously only 15% knew of the potential of fires for baking ingredients after counseling activities became 100% understood. As many as 90% of participants believe that with the increased economic value of mangrove forests, mangroves can be sustainable

Abstract

This activity was carried out on May 10 - July 25, 2019 at the Ryan Farm Fish Seed Center, Rumbai Waste, which was participated by fish farmers, integrated kukerta students and a community service team of 20 people. The purpose of this Pegabdian Activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of fish farmers about silk worm cultivation, so that they are no longer dependent on the season in nature. While the benefits are expected with the knowledge and skills gained by the participants, they can utilize the Ryan Farm hatchery unit for the development of silk worm cultivation until produce it as a result of course fish larvae production can increase which ultimately can increase income for the local community. The practice activity of cultivating silk worms was carried out directly by the participants. Starting with the practice of making silk worm media then continued with the cultivation of silk worms in a basin of tofu size 35x28x11 cm for 3 weeks. The results obtained were after counseling and training based on the proposed questionnaire there was an increase in fish farming community knowledge about silkworm cultivation by 90% while after cultivation of silk worms for 3 weeks the silk worms weighing 109 g / container were obtained. The problem encountered during the practice was the growth of bloodworm populations in the medium of silkworm cultivation media.

Abstract

Housewives have their own potential for economic development and improvement of family nutrition. African catfish is a fish that has a savory taste and has become part of the Riau community menu. On the other hand, these fish are relatively easy to cultivate, resistant to extreme environments even in narrow areas without the need for running water. This community service activities is aimed at fostering housewives to grow African catfish in drums, make their own catfish feed and process some of their harvest. The program was held in West Minas Village, Siak Regency, Riau Province by using direct demonstration method. The participants were taught how to make fish feed, cultivation of catfish and post-harvest activities. Starting from the formation of the group and the appointment of the chairman and secretary. Followed by face-to-face counseling activities, direct practice of making fish feed, preparation of growing containers, stocking the fish fry and cultivation implementation. Every participant provided with a 200 l drum, 300 fries and some catfish feed that they produce themselves. One unit of pellet making machine was handed over to this group. Monitoring activities carried out continuously every 2-3 weeks, either through direct visits or via telephone. The participants looked serious, enthusiastic and diligent in carrying out this program. Until the end of the fish activities have been harvested and consumed by family members themselves. Viewed from the perspective of strengthening the family economy and improving household nutrition, this activity is considered quite good and is expected to be emulated by other community members.

Abstract

Lack of interest in eating Indonesian children fish, resulting in protein nutrition sufferers and growth inhibition. Housewives are their own potential for economic development and family nutrition. Some people may not like to consume catfish. Maybe because of its fishy smell, its shape is scary for children, disgusting for some people who don't like to eat fish. But by being made into meatballs and nuggets people will be more interested and interested in consuming them. This activity empowers group members and supports the family economy through mentoring and counseling on technology for making meatballs and fish nuggets. The participants were taught how to make fish balls and fish nuggets. The first strategy is to teach fishermen mothers to join the community service program, which is they will be formed into a target group of 20 people and appoint one of them as the group leader. After the group is formed, counseling will be conducted on the benefits of fish in the health sector and as a basic ingredient in the manufacture of various types of processed foods that are nutritionally and economically valuable.

Abstract

Azolla microphylla is a water nail plant that may not be too well known to the wider community. But actually, these water-nail plants that are in the genus Azollaceae have a variety of benefits, there are several benefits, especially in the agricultural sector and also livestock, namely for poultry feed, fish and even for fertilizer. Azolla microphylla cultivation activities are carried out at the Marine Center Campus, precisely at the Natural Laboratory of Marine Biotechnology, Department of Marine Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, University of Riau. The implementation of this training used lecture, discussion and direct demonstration methods for students and lecturers. This activity began with an education about the potential of Azolla microphylla by explaining the cultivation techniques of Azolla microphylla and its benefits in the field of fisheries. Planting of Azolla microphylla tarpaulin and bucket results achieved in the Azolla microphylla growth rate reached 80% of the total number of seedlings planted in tarpaulin and bucket ponds. While 20% have failed due to the lack of incoming sunlight on the development of Azolla microphylla.

Abstract

Udang rebon (Acetes sp.) is one of marine fishery products that in certain seasons the production is quite abundant in Desa Sialang Pasung Kecamatan Ransang Barat of Kepulauan Meranti District.An effort to increase the price and to optimize the use of udang rebon is through product diversification such as bakso (meat ball) and nugget.The objective of this community service activity was to increase knowledge and skill of local community and fishermen in Desa Sialang Pasung in the use udang rebon as raw materials in the production of bakso and nugget. Participants of the activity were local fishermen and wives and other house wives. This activity was performed in three steps: (1) preparation, (2) lectureanddiscussion and (3) demonstration practical in preparing meat ball and nugget by using udang rebon as raw material.Participants were very active during the lecturing and practical work, both from their responds and discussion. The community service activity was very valuable, particularly in order to increase local people income and in consumption of fishery products. Hopefully, this activity can motivate other local community and other community in other villages surrounding.

Abstract

Sepahat Village is one of the villages that has very good potential to be developed into a leading tourist attraction Mangrove area which is generally located in the coastal area is threatened by the needs of the people around it. The need can be in the form of land use for settlement, as a land for economic activities such as industry and non-oil and gas fuel needs and so on. These needs force the community to do many things that can damage mangrove forests such as clearing and converting land and illegal logging. Various forms of support for the preservation of mangrove forests including environmental education from an early age and teaching about preservation of mangrove forests is one way that can be done in an effort to make coastal areas in particular better and very important, especially given to people, especially those who live and in their lives related to mangroves and coastal areas. The extension participants consisted of 30 members of the community in Sepahat Village as planned. Community interest is high enough to participate in counseling and outreach activities to be able to increase knowledge and skills in protecting the mangrove forest environment to prevent coastal abrasion. Based on the coastal topography of this village the appropriate type of mangrove is from Avicennia sp.

Abstract

This service activity aims to apply the technology of making cork fish biscuits technology for PKK cadres in the framework of developing sustainable small-scale business in Pangkalan Pisang Village, Koto Gasib District, Siak Regency, Riau Province. Participants as the target of service and training activities involved housewives and PKK cadres, with 25-30 participants and PKK cadres. The cork fish biscuit product training results have a preference level for the appearance and appearance of the biscuit 90%, the taste of cork fish biscuits 94%, the aroma of cork fish biscuits 98% and the texture crispness reach 90%, so the overall sensory value of cork fish biscuits is relatively high around 90 -98%, this shows that it is very potential to be produced and marketed to meet nutritious food that can increase family income in the home industry or SMEs in Pangkalan Pisang Village. The results of the evaluation and development of cork fish biscuits production after the implementation of 6 weeks of training obtained developments that cork fish biscuits have been produced continuously, cork fish biscuits are in demand by school children at a rate of 90-98%, and the production of cork fish biscuits is carried out marketing in several the location is a bread and snack food stalls and a school canteen.
