Abstract

PT PLN Batubara is a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero), which has the role of Security of Supply for PLTU and Contributing to cost efficiency. The company shows a positive trend about securing business sustainability by an upward trend of coal delivery year by year. However, the increase in revenue was not followed by a remarkable increase in profit margin. Based on the last three years of financial statement data, the company never meets the net profit margin target, which has planned on its corporate planning. This research objective is to answer the root cause of this problem, develop possible solutions to improve net profit margin and choose the optimum alternative to be implemented. This research is based on rational decision-making framework combined with internal and external analysis to define factor impacting net profit margin of PT PLN Batubara. This research is conducted using Mixed-Method, both qualitative and quantitative methods. Research shows that there are some internal and external factors that deterrent the increasing of profit margin. Regarding to internal factors, business model which relies on suppliers made the company struggling in controlling the cost production. Furthermore, it is getting worse with the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) policy. Therefore, in order to address those stumbling factors, the company should optimize supply chain management by looking for an alternative supplier. Abstract

Working capital management has an important role on firm profitability especially for retail firms operating in emerging countries. Previous studies have not really considered the influence of macroeconomic conditions on working capital management and firm profitability relation. This paper investigates the impact of working capital management on firm profitability among Indonesian retail firms listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange with the moderation of GDP growth (GDP) and working capital loan interest rate (IR). This study uses panel data regression covering the period of Q1 2016 – Q2 2021. The results show that days inventory outstanding (DIO) has negative impact on gross operating profit (GOP) and return on asset (RoA) while days payable outstanding (DPO) has positive impact on RoA and cash cycle (CCC) has positive impact on gross operating profit (GOP). The results also show that GDP moderates the relationship between CCC components and GOP, while IR moderates the relationship between DIO and both firm profitability indicators, DPO and RoA, CCC and GOP. The results suggest retail firm management to pay attention to its inventories, payables and cash cycle. The management also has to consider the GDP growth and interest rate in managing its working capital. Keywords: macroeconomy, working capital management, profitability, data panel regression, retail

Abstract

Talent management development is directly related to the organization's future-readiness. Competent, loyal, passionate, and highly motivated employees are important assets as future leaders, meaning the right strategy is needed for increasingly global business development readiness. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the talent management policy strategies that promote organizational justice, where data were analyzed using the Fuzzy Analytical Process (FAHP) method. The results showed that a superior talent policy strategy is important and should be implemented according to the organization’s needs to prepare future leaders. The strategy is essential in preparing future leaders during change by involving BPJSTK management, the Ministry of Manpower, and talent. It is important to ensure the effective implementation of a superior talent development model in line with the needs of future leaders. Abstract

This study aim to describe the capital structure of the world telecommunications companies and analyze the effect of capital structure on company performance. The sample used is 205 telecommunication companies listed on the world capital market covering 62 countries covering periods year 2010-2020. The capital structure proxied by debt on asset ratio, both long term ratio and short term ratio, while company performance represent by return on asset. Data analysis using dynamic data panel with generalized methods of moment methods. Data show that capital structure of world telecommunication firm is increase where the long term increase higher than short term. The estimation result indicated that capital structure of telecommunication firm both longterm and shorterm has negative impact to firm performance. Firm size indicated has negative impact to performance, on contrary, firm growth has positive relationship with telecommunication firm perfomance. Abstract

Technological developments in the past five years have been very fast and dynamic. This also has an effect on the use of technology that is used by humans to transact, especially on increasing buying interest. The main objective of this study was to examine the effect of electronic word of mouth (e-wom) and the use of social media on the level of trust and consumer buying interest. To achieve this goal, data was collected using a questionnaire through an online survey of 180 respondents aged 29-39 years and its location in Jakarta. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) lisrel. The results of this study indicate that the use of social media / Social Networking Sites (SNS) can influence the level of trust and interest in buying consumers while information and comments on online stores / online shops have effect on consumer buying interest. Abstract

Trading companies concentrate heavily on profiting from the way the company operates. PT Robotaqua Indonesia is one of the air purifier traders in Indonesia. Since the last two years, business performance has decreased. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that exist in the business environment of PT Robotaqua Indonesia, to formulate a business strategy that can be carried out by PT Robotaqua Indonesia, to determine recommendation of strategic priorities based on key criteria made by the company. The research was conducted descriptively with the SWOT analysis method and AHP analysis. The results showed 11 alternative strategies based on the condition of the relationship between strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. As a strategic priority that must be carried out by the company, there are 5 strategies which include increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of inventory management, continuously updating import licensing, increasing sales incentives, developing market segments, and improving after-sales service. Abstract

The global market developments is very fast that make a business need to adapt to keep competing. Business process was a vital component on the business if the business want to keep competing and developing. Business process must be keep developing with the proper and suitable methods. This study aims to analyze process improvement on PT. Sambada with Model-Based and Integrated Process Improvement method (MIPI). MIPI methods have 7 step, there are understand the business needs, understand the process, model and analyze process, redesign process, implement new process, asses new process, and review new process. The method was done until the fourth step, which is the redesign process step. On the first step, scanning was performed on the current condition of the company. The current condition of the company is depicted by the vision and mission of the company, the organization structure, market share, and complaints or mistakes data from consumers. On the second step, all current business process of the company is modeled. On the third step, all process were validated with all of the person in charge with the process. After that, the process is analyzed by value added analysis tool. Last, prosess improvement team was assembled to take charge with redesigned the new process which already improved. Pareto and Fishbone diagram were used to analyze and determined the focus of the problem being solved. The result of the study gives a new process that already fixed by applying the result from the analysis in accordance to MIPI method. Keywords: business process, fishbone, improvement, pareto, MIPI

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of internal factors, external factors, service quality, and financial aid on the success of the study of Bidikmisi scholarship recipients at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The study used descriptive quantitative method with a retrospective survey approach. The sample of this study was 247 graduates of Bidikmisi recipients at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with LISREL software and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that internal, external, and service quality factors had a positive and significant relationship to the study's success, but financial aid did not affect the study's success. The indicator variable that best describes the internal factor is the academic self-concept, while for the external factor is the community environment, and for the service quality is responsiveness. Internal factors have the most significant influence on the success of the study of Bidikmisi recipients, while external factors have the least influence. It is advised to UNTIRTA to set their priority to increase the success of the study of Bidikmisi recipients by paying attention to internal factors, service quality, and external factors. Improving internal conditions is done by increasing academic interest and doing orientation at the beginning of the lecture. Improving the quality of service is done by improving the quality of information and the attitude of the manager's empathy, while improving external condition is done by completing studies with peer groups. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide empirical evidence regarding the effect of Asset Specificity on conservatism in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2017-2019. Asset Specificity is an asset owned by a company that has its own characteristics that are not easily imitated by competitors. Assets that have certain characteristics are able to contribute to variations in conservative financial reporting practices. This study uses 210 data from manufacturing companies listed on the BEI, the sample was selected using the purposive sampling method for the period 2017-2019. The data of this research is in the form of panel data which is analyzed using a simple linear regression method which is processed using Stata15. The results of this study indicate that asset specificity has a negative effect on conservatism of manufacturing companies listed on the IDX in 2017-2019. The asset specificity owned by the company has not been able to make the company more conservative in preparing financial statements. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of expectation and level of performance to determine the level of conformity and indicators that are the main priority for improvement and patient satisfaction to improve service quality and satisfy patients at the Lubuk Besar Public Health Center. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach. Sampling was determined by the purposive sampling technique with a total of 100 respondents. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. The analysis used is Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The results showed that the analysis of the IPA method at the level of conformity of the 5 dimensions of service quality at the Lubuk Besar Public Health Center had a value of 73.74% in the appropriate category only on the responsiveness dimension which was still in the quite especially on the speed and accuracy attributes of doctors treating patients, speed and friendliness of administrative staff, ability to respond and resolve patient complaints. The results of the calculation of the CSI method at the Lubuk Besar Health Center by 70% means that the patient is quite satisfied, but the puskesmas still need to make improvements to the attributes that have low values to improve service quality and satisfy patients.
