Abstract

Pain is the main cause of patients coming to consult a doctor because the number of diseases related to pain reaches 80%. Pain is the main symptom of most medical conditions. Anesthetic drugs serve to reduce pain, mainly through their action on the central nervous system and change a person's response to pain. One of the drugs that are often used to treat inflammation are NSAIDs. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of public knowledge about the use of NSAID analgesic drugs in RT 003 and 004 in Rawakalong Village. The research was conducted using a descriptive research design, with a quantitative approach. Sampling used purposive sampling and the measuring instrument used was a questionnaire distributed to the community of RT 003 and 004 in Rawakalong Village. This study involved 111 respondents who had met the inclusion criteria. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the most age was 17-30 years as many as 51 respondents (46%), the most gender was male as many as 59 respondents (53%), the most education was high school as many as 80 respondents (72%), most occupations were employees as many as 34 respondents (31%), good level of knowledge of respondents as many as 64 respondents (58%), enough as many as 34 respondents (31%), less than 13 respondents (12%). The conclusion is that the level of public knowledge about the use of NSAID analgesic drugs in RT 003 and 004 in Rawakalong Village is 64 people (58%).

Abstract

Drug-drug interactions are changes in the effectiveness or toxicity of one drug due to the presence of other drugs that are given simultaneously. These drug interactions can cause several problems, including decreased therapeutic effect, increased toxicity, or unexpected pharmacological effects. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential for drug-drug interactions in geriatric patients in a retrospective study and to determine the percentage of potential drug-drug interactions in geriatric patients in a retrospective study at a Pontianak City Pharmacy. This research method was carried out in a retrospective way, namely research conducted from January 2022 to March 2022 with inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. Data is processed through the www.drugs.com database or Drug Interactions Checker. Of the total prescriptions that have been analyzed, there is a percentage of potential drug interactions of 9.76% consisting of major 11.72%, moderate 64.06% and minor 24.22%. From this study it is known that moderate drug interactions are higher than major and minor interactions, so the use of polypharmacy drugs in geriatric patients must be watched out so as not to cause a decrease in the patient's clinical status.ABSTRAKInteraksi obat-obat merupakan perubahan efektivitas atau toksisitas satu obat karena adanya obat lain yang diberikan secara bersamaan.

Abstract

Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory skin disease that is widespread in 85% of the human population. This disease occurs when hair follicles are blocked by dead skin cells. In some cases, bacteria such as Staphylococcus sp. triggers the inflammation in acne Moringa leaves are known to have potential antibacterial activity against acne-causing bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus. The aim of this research is to develop and evaluate a hydrogel preparation containing ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera L. leaves as an alternative treatment for acne. This research was carried out using an experimental method involving hydrogel formulation with varying concentrations of Moringa leaf extract of 4%, 7% and 10%. The evaluation carried out included organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesive power, physical stability, and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. The research results showed that all hydrogel formulations met the specified quality standards, with appropriate pH, good spreadability and adhesion, and adequate physical stability. The antibacterial activity of the hydrogel also showed relatively strong effectiveness at extract concentrations of 4%, 7% and 10%. This research indicates that Moringa leaf extract hydrogel has the potential to be an effective topical preparation for the treatment of acne. Further research can be carried out by exploring the potential anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera leaves
