Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced people to work from home. Behavioral adjustments during the COVID-19 pandemic due to changes in work and study patterns from home have significantly impacted daily activities at home. However, the problem is that not all houses have a special space for work/study, especially for small-type dwellings with limited space. This study aims to reveal the form of adaptation in providing space to work from home and the level of comfort, especially for residents of row houses. The researcher uses a quantitative descriptive method in percentage figures to show the condition of community adaptation to the space to work and comfort level. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 250 residents of row houses in Makassar. The results show that community adaptation in providing space to work from home is by function and modifying space. In space function, people generally use the living room as a workspace. The adaptation pattern is usually made by adding furniture, changing furniture, rearranging furniture. Meanwhile, to get comfort, respondents generally add artificial lighting and ventilation. Although the space is limited and many distractions occur, most people claim they are pretty comfortable and feel more productive while working from home.

The development of the concept of sustainable agriculture in the cocoa farming system is the conception of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) on Cocoa. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that influence farmers' intentions to implement Good Agricultural Practices on cocoa in Bupon Sub District, Luwu Regency. Previous studies on the adoption of agricultural innovation often consider socio economic characteristics and overlook underlying psychological factors influencing farmers’ behavioral intention. This study's framework is based on Ajzen's theory of planned behavior (TPB) to evaluate variables antecedent to farmers' intention to implement Good Agricultural Practices on cocoa, such as attitude, subjective norm, knowledge, and perceived behavior control. Using a self-administered questionnaire, a quantitative research approach was used to collect responses from 130 farmers from three villages in the Bupon Sub District of Luwu Regency. According to the findings, TPB antecedent variables: attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control have significant effect and positively correlated to the farmer’s intention to Implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) on study area.

Abstract

Indonesia still has considerable health development challenges, notably in the areas of hygiene and sanitation. As a result, a comprehensive sanitation strategy is required. The government altered its national sanitation development strategy from sectoral concentration to hardware subsidies, which have failed to influence hygienic behavior and access to sanitation. This evolved into a community-based sanitation system that stressed five (five) factors, including the elimination of open defecation, proper management of drinking water and household food, hand washing with soap, proper waste management, and safe domestic liquid waste management. The purpose of this study was to ascertain the effect of predisposing factors, which included elements of knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions, on the five STBM pillars. To determine the effect of STBM triggering, a quantitative observational design using a cross sectional study technique was adopted. The findings indicated that knowledge, attitudes, family support, and assistance from health care professionals were all strongly associated with STBM application. Meanwhile, statistical analyses indicate that the number of dependents, employment status, income, and water availability are unrelated to the application of STBM. With a significant value (sig.=0.000) or p<0.010 and Exp(B)=12,267, knowledge is the most influential variable on STBM implementation. As a conclusion, respondents' knowledge of the implementation of STBM is the most influential factor in the implementation of STBM. It is hoped that all parties, particularly family members and health staff, would encourage and help one another, motivating the community to constantly preserve sanitation in their surroundings.

Abstract

One of the basic needs of the community is the availability of clean water in their environment. The water that humans need is clean water, which according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990 Requirements for Clean Water Quality, water that meets the requirements of clean, clear, odorless, colorless, does not contain germs and substances dangerous. At the request or offer from the Bulurokeng sub-district community through the Makassar City Government Public Works Service, in 2013 the Government provided the provision of clean water facilities for the Bulurokeng sub-district, known as the SPAM program. Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM). Based on data from the Makassar City Public Works Agency in 2021, the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) built in the Bulurokeng sub-district has several causes that cause the facilities built to malfunction. Therefore, the authors found a solution to re-operate clean water facilities by increasing the performance of managers through improving the management system. This study uses quantitative, descriptive, evaluative, and experimental methods to determine the effectiveness of community-based clean water management. The results of further research are based on the output of data processing based on the SMARTPLS software application to obtain recommendations or solutions for using the right model in improving community-based clean water management systems.
