Abstract

The school committee, school principal and teachers are the key role in schools that implement school-based management. This research aims to develop a model of empowerment of school committees in the implementation of school-based management by developing networks of social capital.This research uses research and development approach with the school committee members and all components of the school as the subjects. The interview records and documents are analyzed qualitative-descriptivephenomenologycallyand inferential statistically. The finding is the performance of the school committee is still not good. This is caused by the lack of cooperation between school committee and school component. There are no bound by norms of solidarity and trust among them to carry out school management. School committees empowerment by establishing effective networks of social capital, effectively improves school comitte‟s performance by 13.75 points. There are consistent changes between social capital intensity and qualification performance of the school committee. The school committee should behave and act proactively, and also more creative to foster the trust of the school. Keywords: school-based management, empowerment, school committees, social capital.

Abstract

Tingginya tingkat pengangguran yang dialami oleh para alumni perguruan tinggi menandakan para sarjana masih menjadi problem dan penambah beban berat angkatan kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: mendeskripsikan secara rinci tentang waktu tunggu alumni dalam memperoleh peluang kerja, kesesuaian antara kompetensi yang dimiliki dengan bidang kerja yang ditekuni saat ini, kendala yang dihadapi alumni, dan harapan alumni terhadap peluang kerja. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian mencakup sejumlah alumni yang telah bekerja di berbagai lembaga baik pemerintah maupun swasta. Tempat penelitian dilaksanakan di Jawa Tengah meliputi Klaten, Salatiga, Kudus, Grobogan, Semarang, dan Batang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan  wawancara mendalam. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lama waktu tunggu alumni dalam mendapatkan peluang kerja bervariasi antara 2 tahun sampai langsung bekerja tanpa adanya waktu tunggu. Kesuaian antara kompetensi dengan bidang kerja sebagian besar alumni telah terjadi kesesuaian antara pekerjaan dengan kompetensi utama. Kendala yang dihadapi para alumni prodi PLS yang selama ini kesulitan dalam memperoleh peluang kerja disebabkan oleh terbatasnya informasi lowongan kerja untuk PLS, masyarakat luas belum mengetahui kompetensi lulusan PLS dan Prodi PLS belum mempunyai kemampuan spesifik. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model literasi berbasis entrepreneurship untuk meningkatkan ekonomi produktif  bagi istri nelayan tradisional. Model literasi ini sebagai solusi dalam memberdayakan istri nelayan miskin tradisional melalui pembelajaran literasi (membaca, menulis, berhitung, berbicara dan menyimak) berbasis keterampilan kecakapan hidup dan kewirausahaan. Model literasi berbasis entrepreneurship dirancang agar perempuan istri nelayan mampu menghadapi problema kehidupan melalui pembelajaran literasi berbasis kecakapan hidup dan kewirausahaan sebagai solusi dalam meningkatkan ekonomi keluarga. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian dan pengembangan. Penelitian dilakukan pada perempuan  istri nelayan miskin di Kecamatan Tugu, Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Instrumen dan teknik pengumpulan data mengguakan panduan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi serta focus group discussion (FGD). Subjek penelitian adalah istri nelayan. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menelaah data hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi secara deskriptif kualitatif dan pengembangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) sosial ekonomi dan pendidikan keluarga nelayan dalam kondisi memprihatinka, mereka masih dalam kondisi sosial ekonomi miskin. 3) Upaya-upaya yang dilakukan para istri nelayan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan ekonomi keluarga dengan mengandalkan penghasilan yang ada untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari. 3) Pendidikan literasi berbasis entrepreneurship didasarkan pada pemenuhan minat dan kebutuhan istri nelayan tradisional, serta mencakup kegiatan yang membantu mereka untuk mengaplikasikan kemampuan dan keterampilan baru yang diperoleh, guna meningkatkan mutu dan taraf  hidupnya. Model literasi yang dikembangkan ini menekankan kebutuhan belajar terkait kecakapan hidup yang terdiri atas berbagai keterampilan vokasional dan juga menekankan pengembangan motivasi bekerja, sikap modern, dan keterampilan-keterampilan kecakapan hidup lainnya yang dapat membangkitkan jiwa wirausaha sehingga dapat meningkatkan ekonomi produktif.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the role of principal leadership in carrying out its function to improve the quality of education at SD Islam Ta’allumul Huda Bumiayu. This research approach is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected by structured interviews, unstructured interviews, and document studies. The results of this study indicate that the role used by the principal in order to improve the quality of education at SD Islam Ta’allumul Huda Bumiayu is (1) the role of the principal as an educator, where the principal always provides guidance and direction to the board of teachers and students in an educational context. (2) the role of the principal as a supervisor, where the principal always supervises and controls the performance of teachers and school programs. (3) the role of the principal as a leader, where the principal always encourages enthusiasm and confidence of all stakeholders in carrying out their duties. (4) the role of the principal as an innovator, where the principal is always looking for and implementing new ideas and being an example or example for all school members. The benefit of this research is to provide insight into the field of educational management related to principal leadership in improving the quality of education at the primary school level as well as being used as material for evaluating and supporting the work of school principals.

Abstract

Literacy skills provide opportunities to build society to face the global changes. This study aims to promoting the community members of the tourist village according to financial and cultural citizenship literacy as a part of multiliteracy in tourism village. This research applied descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects are 10 villagers in Jojogan Village, Wonosobo Regency. The method of data collecting use interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis begins during the data collection process, performs data reduction, data presentation, and ends with drawing conclusions and verification. The findings describe promoting financial and cultural citizenship literacy as multiliteracy in Tourism Village is carried out in the community to have a financial and cultural literacy in their daily lives as a part of tourism village community. This activity promotes literacy cultur e by adjusting their free time because the learning schedule was coming from the community member's needs. With this condition, the manager and facilitator continuously try to adjust the conditions of the community members. These literacy learning activities include reading, writing, numerating, speaking, and listening. The benefit of this research is to provide an explanation that financial and cultural citizenship literacy as a part of multiliteracy in tourism village must be done.

Abstract

Participatory learning model in functional literacy education attempts to involve learners completely to contribute and to participate actively in any stages of learning activity. This research aimed to apply participatory learning model and to find out the effect of participatory learning application on functional literacy education in rural community learners. This study was a research and development by producing a participatory learning model product applied to motivate the learners in rural community learning group of Semarang Regency. The design used in developing the model product was ADDIE model. Learning model trial was carried out using experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. The participants of research involved 2 learning group with 35 learners in experiment group and 30 learners in control group. The result of trial was analyzed using statistic t-test. The result of research showed that (1) the application of participatory learning model could grow active participation and learner independency by utilizing their self-potency and environment, 2) Participatory learning affected positively the improvement of learners’ learning motivation with the mean score difference between pretest and posttest of 12.95 experiment group higher than 4.76 control group, and the learning outcome of learners improved with the mean score difference between pretest and posttest of  0.59 experiment group)higher than 0.3 control group. The application of participatory learning model was made the literacy acceleration process by involving the learners in functional literacy education as the attempt of empowering the rural community. The implications of the participatory learning model on functional literacy education can increase the active participation of the learning community, the motivation of learning, and the competence of the learning community. The implications for this participant learning model tutor can increase the creativity and innovation in teaching the learners of functional literacy education in rural communities.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship training activities in the literacy village program are one of the national literacy movement programs. Learning citizens with limited characteristics need effective learning skills to achieve the goals of literacy skills in the industrial era 4.0. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the Production Based Training learning model with the ICARE approach on entrepreneurial literacy skills of women participating in entrepreneurship training in literacy villages. The research method used is a quantitative approach pretest-posttest one group design with data analysis using SPSS t-test. The research population is the community of women as learning citizens in the literacy village program. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. Data collection techniques used observation, questionnaires, and performance ability tests. The results showed that the ICARE-based Production-Based Training learning model was effective in improving entrepreneurial literacy skills significantly as indicated by the high insight into entrepreneurial knowledge and attitudes as well as pioneering entrepreneurial skills with critical thinking skills, communicating, collaborating, and developing creativity in problem-solving to pioneer entrepreneurship. The impact of this research is to provide increased literacy skills, especially for marginalized women in pioneering and developing entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a model of entrepreneurship-based literacy to improve productive economy for the wives of traditional fishermen. This literacy model is a solution in empowering the wives of traditional poor fishermen through literacy learning (reading, writing, arithmetic, speaking and listening) based on life skills and entrepreneurial skills. Entrepreneurship-based literacy models are designed so that women and fishermen's wives are able to face life's problems through life skills-based literacy learning and entrepreneurship as a solution to improving the family economy. This research approach uses research and development. The study was conducted on poor fishermen's wife women in Tugu District, Semarang City, Central Java. Data collection instruments and techniques used interview, observation, and documentation guidelines and focus group discussions (FGD). The research subject was the wife of the fisherman. The data analysis technique was carried out by analyzing the data from interviews, observations, and documentation in a qualitative and development descriptive manner. The results showed that: (1) the socio-economic and education of the fishermen's family were in poor condition, they were still in poor socio-economic conditions. 3) Efforts made by the wives of fishermen to meet the economic needs of their families by relying on existing income for their daily needs. 3) Entrepreneurship-based literacy education is based on fulfilling the interests and needs of the wives of traditional fishermen, and includes activities that help them to apply new abilities and skills acquired, in order to improve their quality and standard of living. The literacy model developed emphasizes life skills related learning needs that consist of a variety of vocational skills and also emphasizes the development of work motivation, modern attitudes, and other life skills that can arouse entrepreneurial spirit so that it can improve productive economies.
