Abstract

This research was conducted on 12nd May until 23rd July 2015. The aims of thisresearch was to determine the best dose of mangosteen rind (Garcinia mangostanaL.) simplicia addition in feed to increase non-specific immune responses in Africancatfish (Clarias gariepinus). This research used Completely Randomized Design(CRD) with one factor, five treatments and three replications. The treatments wereaddition of mangosteen rind simplicia in feed with different concentration i.e : Kn(without addition of mangosteen rind simplicia and without infected with A.hydrophila), Kp (without addition of mangosteen rind simplicia and infected with A.hydrophila), P1 (addition of mangosteen rind simplicia 2 g/kg of feed and infectedwith A. hydrophila), P2 (addition addition of mangosteen rind simplicia 4 g/kg of feedand infected with A. hydrophila) and P3 (addition of mangosteen rind simplicia 6 g/kgof feed and infected with A. hydrophila). The results showed that mangosteen rindsimplicia in feed of treatment P3 on the best dose (6 g/kg of feed) and it can beincrease of non-specific immune responses in African catfish.Key words : Garcinia mangostana L., Clarias gariepinus, A. hydrophila,Simplicia, Differentiation of Leukocytes

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted on May-July 2017. The purpose of this research was to determine the utilization of fermented chicken feather meal on artificial feed barramundi and to obtain additional levels of the best feather meal in feed formulation barramundi fingerling, digestibility, growth, feed efficiency and protein retention. This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) of the factors with 5 treatments and 3 replicated. The treatment in this study was the addition of fermented feather meal that is P1 (0%), P2 (5%), P3 (10%), P4 (15%), P5 (20%) in feed. Protein for feed test average was 45%. The results show that the best treatment material is P5 (20%). Abstract

ABSTRACT The effect of stocking density and feeding rate on the growth and survival rate of comet gold fish larvae (Carassius auratus) was conducted on 14 May to 23   June 2017 in the Laboratory of Fish Hatchery and Breeding Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, University of Riau. The larva was reared in 15 liters aquarium using water resirculation system. This research used the experimental method, while the experimental design using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) two factors. First factor was stocking density with four treatments (1 larvae/liters, 2 larvae/liters,3 larvae/liters, 4 larvae/liters) and second factor was feeding rate with two treatments( 40 % and 60 % body weight/day). To minimize errors, each treatment repeated 3 times. The growth and survival rate of larvae reared at stocking density 1 larvae/L and feeding rate 60% body weight/day were significantly higher than those it 2, 3, 4 larvae/L and 40 % Bw/day respectively. Larvae reared at stocking density 1 larvae/Liter and feeding rate 60% body weight/day was the highest in growth the survival rate, that was 2.46 g, 4,36 cm, 12,94 % /day and 100 % survival rate. The water quality parameters during this research were: temperature 24,6-28,2 0C, pH 5,2-6,8 and dissolved oxygen 4,9-6,0 mg/l. Key word : Carassius auratus, density, feeding rate, growth, survival rate and recirculation

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted from January to February 2018 in the halls 0f the fishery seeds Tarantang Subsdistrict, Harau, West Sumatra Province. The aims of this research was to know the effect of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) pituitary gland injected with different dose on ovulation and survivaln rate of komet (Carassius auratus) and To find the best dose ot the pituitary gland to stimulate ovulation and survivaln rate of komet (Carassius auratus). This research used on experimental, one factor four treathment and three replications. The treatments were : HP0: control with NaCl 0,9% (0,2 ml), HP3: Injected with 1:3 dose (1 kg of recipient : 3 kg of donor), HP4: Injected with 1:4 dose (1 kg of recipient : 4 kg of  donor), and HP5: Injected with 1:5 dose (1 kg of recipient : 5 kg of donor). The results showed that common carp (Cyprinus carpio) injected gave an effect on ovulation and survival rate of komet (Carassius auratus). The treatment in HP1 : Injected with 1:3 dose (1 kg of recipient : 3 kg of donor) were teh best treatment with an average of latent time 6 haurs 3 minites , fertilization rate (FR) 69,74%, hatching rate (HR) 75,41% and 7 day survival rate of komet larvae with 90,87%.Keyword : Pituitary gland, ovulation, survival rate, Carassius auratus

Abstract

ABSTRACT                             Artificial feed is one of the alternative diet to replace natural foodfor fish larvae.  The addition of probiotics to paste feed could  improve the digestibility of larvae. Probiotics are cultured products or live microbial feed suplements, which beneficially affect the host by improving the intestinal microbial balance. The aim of the research was to evaluate the addition of probiotic dosages to artificial feed on growth and survival rate of green catfish larvae. This research was conducted from July until September 2018 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Faculty Riau University. The treatments in this research wereP0 (0 ml/kg feed), P1 (2 ml/kg feed), P2 (4 ml/kg feed), P3 (6ml/kg feed). The 8 days old larvae were rearing in 15 litreaquarium at stocking density 2 larvae/l for 40 days. Feeding was given 3 times/day at the rate 30% of biomass. Result showed  that the larvae fed 4 ml probiotic / kg  feed was the highest growth (1,7 g, 5,18 cm and 12,8 %/day), the best feed efficiency was 40,2% and the highest survival rate was 70%.Keywords :Green Catfish Larvae; Paste Feed; Probiotic; Growth;Survival Rate
