Abstract

This study aimed to analyze seismic data, which is then made into an infographic to map the level of tsunami hazard in the Sikka District. The research was carried out in Sikka District, East Nusa Tenggara, located between 121°55'40''-122°41'30'' east longitude and 08°22'-08°50' south latitude. The data source comes from the IRIS Earthquake Browser, and the analysis stage was carried out in two phases. The first analysis used seismic data analysis, and EQ Energy used IRIS (Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology) data. Meanwhile, the second analysis maps the tsunami risk by determining the tsunami hazard in areas with the potential for a tsunami. Based on the analysis of seismicity data showed that Sikka District has the potential for an earthquake accompanied by a tsunami. In contrast, the results of the EQ Energy analysis caused by the December 14, 2021 earthquake were known as the value of Ehf = 6.46 × 1014 J  and EBB = 5.48 × 1015 J. The analysis of the level of tsunami susceptibility based on the tsunami run-up height in Sikka District showed that the northern coastal area of Flores had various potentials, where the highest vulnerability level was in the Alok subdistrict and parts of Talibura. Meanwhile, the area with the lowest potential was the Kewapante subdistrict.

Abstract

Increased export-import activities on fresh food commodities in the international market led to the idea of developing new technologies in the form of cryogenic freezers using liquid nitrogen (LN2). Along with the development of preservation methods using liquid nitrogen media, we need a tool that is able to detect changes in low temperatures in LN2 storage flasks that have economic value. Therefore the purpose of this research is to make a low-temperature sensor with copper and nickel material that has an economical price. The Cu/Ni film sensor is made with an electroplating method assisted by an external magnetic field of 200 G which is installed parallel to the deposition current. The Cu/Ni film was developed by varying the concentration of the electrolyte solution. The electrolyte solution used in the deposition process consisted of a mixture of H3BO3, NiSO4, NiCl2, and H2O. Furthermore, the Cu/Ni film that was made was tested on the LN2 medium to measure its sensitivity value in response to changes in temperature. The results showed that the Cu/Ni film sensor could detect changes in the low temperature in LN2. The results of data analysis showed that the curve relationship between voltage and temperature in the sample with the 2nd concentration (C2) had the highest relationship to influence each other between the voltage and temperature variables, and the sample had the highest sensitivity value compared to the others.

Abstract

The 2D topography proffers a new challenge of modeling surface waves with a 4-point finite difference (FDM) model. Topographic representation of wave propagation over a certain area will result in loss of accuracy of the numerical model. Then from this the need for appropriate modifications to reduce calculation errors. The existing approach requires value representation as an internal extrapolation solution for temporary exterior conditions. It is finally by providing boundary conditions and initial conditions in the system. However, the scheme sometimes becomes unstable for very irregular topography. 1D extrapolation along the parallel path is known to produce a simple and efficient scheme. During extrapolation, the stability of the 1D hyperbolic Schema improved by disregarding the nearest interior boundary point, which is less than half the lattice distance. Given the limited difference so that the stencils from both sides of the central evaluation point can be used as a 2D form modification if there are not enough inside points. So that in propagation space, waves that move and change according to changes in time. It will be following the wave nature of one source that travels in the x and y fields whose amplitude will change exponentially against propagation time. It is by the nature of surface wave motion.

Abstract

Abstract: Over 30 years, the Flores region experienced earthquakes with Mw >7 twice, namely in 1992 and 2021 at shallow depths <60 km. However, the behavior of the aftershocks accompanying the quake has yet to be studied in detail. This research aims to compare the behavior of aftershocks after the main earthquake. This research uses three-lifetime analysis functions, namely, Wilber3, Mustang Web Browser, and comparison of Probability Density Function Hazard. The data used comes from IRIS data and BMKG Online Data. Through graphical analysis, it is known that the data for the time difference for aftershocks follow the RMS distribution, indicating that the Flores Sea aftershock on 12 December 1992 occurred with high intensity on the 3rd and 6th day after the main earthquake. Meanwhile, the aftershocks in the Flores Sea on 14 December 2021 tended to occur with a more even intensity during the observation period, but the power returned to high on the 7th day.

Abstract

Pollutants in the air have a detrimental effect on both human existence and the environment. Because it is closely linked to climate change and the effects of global warming, research on air quality is currently receiving attention from a variety of disciplines. The science of forecasting air quality has evolved over time, and the actions of different gases (hazardous elements) and other components directly affect the health of the ecosystem. This study aims to present the development of a prediction system based on artificial intelligence models using a database of air quality sensors. This study develops a prediction model using machine learning (ML) and a Decision Tree (DT) algorithm that can enable decision harmonization across different industries with high accuracy. Based on pollutant levels and the classification outcomes from each cluster's analysis, statistical forecasting findings with a model accuracy of 0.95 have been achieved. This may act as a guiding factor in the development of air quality policies that address global consequences, international rescue efforts, and the preservation of the gap in air quality index standardization.

Abstract

The earthquake catalog notes that there have been earthquakes with Mw > 7 that hit the Flores area, three of which occurred in the Flores Sea in 1992, 2015, and 2021. Revealed that the seismic activity of Eastern Indonesia is thought to be influenced by the isolated thrust fault segment of the island of Flores and the island of Wetar. The study of the rising fault segment on Flores Island and Wetar Island helps in further understanding the fault behavior, earthquake pattern, and seismic risk in the Flores Sea region. In earthquakes with giant magneto, an aftershock can occur due to the interaction of ground movements. This research analyzes and compares the data from the evaluation of the classification algorithm and the regression algorithm. The initial stages of this research include requesting IRIS DMC Web Service data. The data is then subjected to a cleaning process to obtain the expected feature extraction. The next stage is to perform the clustering process. This stage is carried out to label dependent data by adding new features as data clusters. The following procedure divides the validation value, which consists of training and test data. The estimation results show that the classification algorithm's evaluation value is better than that of the regression algorithm. The evaluation value of several algorithms indicates this, with an accuracy rate between 80% and 100%.
