Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of guided inquiry methods on students' science learning results at SDI Wae Ratun. This school is one of the schools in underdeveloped regions. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with posttest only control group design research. The subject of the study was the fifth-grade students with sampling techniques using random class techniques. The sample chosen in this study was class V B as the experimental class and class V A as the control class. The instrument used is a test in the form of multiple-choice questions. Data analysis uses descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of data analysis obtained the calculation of tcount = 4.940 and ttable = 2.026 at a significant level and degrees of freedom = 35. Thus, there is a substantial influence on the use of guided inquiry learning models on student science learning results at SDI Wae Ratun.

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran matematika, perangkat komputer berupa spreadsheet dapat berperan sebagai alat bantu belajar siswa serta sumber belajar bagi guru agar pembelajaran menjadi lebih optimal. Spreadsheet telah meluncurkan berbagai fitur yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media dinamis yang dapat mensimulasikan konsep matematika selain operasi aljabar, yakni visualisasi grafik fungsi kuadrat. Melalui penelitian pengembangan, peneliti terdorong untuk mengimplementasikan pembelajaran matematika yang terintegrasi media spreadsheet demi tercapainya pemahaman tentang grafik fungsi secara optimal. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan/Research and Development (R&D). Pembuatan media pembelajaran mengacu pada model pengembangan Plomp. Subjek penelitian ini siswa kelas X SMA. Selain itu, terdapat dua subjek lain yaitu validator dan guru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran matematika berbantuan spreadsheet memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the students’ critical thinking processes in solving plane geometry problems based on cognitive styles and gender styles. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were four junior high school students selected based on differences in cognitive styles and gender styles. The instrument consisted of the main instruments are researchers and supporting instruments, namely problem-solving instruments, cognitive style instruments, and interview guidelines. The data were collected by means of tests and interviews. The results showed there is a significant difference in critical thinking based on students’ cognitive styles. Students with field independent cognitive style tend to go through critical thinking stages more fully than students with field dependent cognitive style. Besides that, gender differences also have an impact, although not as significant as the cognitive style.

Abstract

STRENGTHENING TEACHER PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCIES THROUGH THE USE OF DYNAMIC GEOMETRY SOFTWARE IN MATHEMATICS LEARNING. The selection of strategies, methods, models, and media of appropriate mathematics learning is a form of implementation of a teacher's pedagogical competence. In the 2013 curriculum, the teacher not only sets a scientific approach as a reference in implementing the learning process but also demands innovation to accommodate the right media as well. The role of instructional media, especially dynamic media, is very important in learning mathematics in both elementary and junior high schools. The media was used to explain abstract mathematical problems to be concrete, motivate students, stimulate student learning activities, and help the effectiveness of the learning process. Technological devices such as computers are one of the tools that can be used as dynamic mathematics learning media. Mathematical learning collaboration with ICT devices has been widely carried out in urban and rural areas in Indonesia. Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS) in the form of GeoGebra is a learning medium specifically developed to facilitate the learning of geometry, algebra, and calculus. Therefore, this community service activity (PkM) is intended to strengthen the teacher's pedagogical competence through the use of dynamic learning media using Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS) in the form of GeoGebra in mathematics learning in junior high schools. This PkM aims to train teachers to be able to operate or create mathematics learning media assisted by DGS, especially in learning geometry to students. By making their own, teachers can add insight and increase creativity in making learning media. The supported subjects in these community service activities were junior high school mathematics teachers in Ruteng City. As for the results obtained after the PKM activities, the teachers can operate and create mathematics learning media using DGS in the form of GeoGebra.

Abstract

Comic-style Student Worksheets (LKS) are worksheets that contain information and instructions from the teacher to students to work on a particular experiment presented by displaying comics while illustrated student worksheets are student worksheets that provide information and instructions from the teacher to students to work on one specific experiment presented with pictures. The use of LKS in this study is supported by applying the CLIS learning model that is a learning model that seeks to develop students' ideas or ideas based on the results of observations or experiments using LKS. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there were significant differences in science process skills between students taught using comic-style LKS on the CLIS learning model with students taught using illustrated worksheets in the CLIS learning model and to find out whether students' science process skills were taught using comic LKS on the CLIS learning model is higher than the students taught using illustrated worksheets in the CLIS learning model. The sample of this study was students of class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class, with the research design Randomized Control Group Only Design and the research instruments used were text LKS, comic-style LKS, illustrated worksheets and observation sheets of students' science process skills. From the results of data analysis using the t-test, obtained: 1) there are significant differences in science process skills between students taught using comic-style LKS on the CLIS model with students taught using illustrated LKS on CLIS; 2) science process skills students taught using comic-style LKS on the CLIS learning model are higher than students explained using illustrated worksheets in the CLIS learning model.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum merupakan penilaian kemampuan minimum yang dilakukan kepada peserta didik. Kemampuan minimum yang dimaksud adalah kemampuan paling dasar yang harus dimiliki oleh peserta didik pada jenjang tertentu, yaitu literasi membaca dan numerasi. AKM mengukur kompetensi berpikir atau bernalar peserta didik ketika membaca teks (literasi) dan menghadapi persoalan yang membutuhkan pengetahuan matematika (numerasi). Tidak semua guru memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan menyusun instrumen, contohnya para guru di SMK Bina Kusuma Ruteng. Oleh karena itu, tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan penyusunan instrumen Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum untuk para guru SMK Bina Kusuma Ruteng. Pelatihan dilakukan untuk mengembangkan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun instrumen AKM sehingga mendukung tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran yang diharapkan. Kegiatan pelatihan diikuti oleh 30 guru SMK Bina Kusuma Ruteng. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu wawancara, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini dapat berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan dan keterampilan para guru dalam menyusun instrumen  Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data ditemukan bahwa pelatihan memiliki kualitas dengan kategori baik sekali (4.75) dan memberikan dampak dalam kategori kategori baik sekali (4.92). Terbukti bahwa para guru bisa menyusun instrumen AKM dengan baik. Sedangkan, dampak pelaksanaan pelatihan masuk dalam kategori baik sekali (4.82). Mitra mampu menyusun instrumen PKM dengan benar, hal ini dapat dilihat pada tugas yang dipresentasikan oleh mitra. Instrumen yang dihasilkan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi penduan bagai para guru dan calon guru untuk mengembangkan dan menggunakan instrumen AKM pada proses pembelajaran dan penilaian di kelas. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan ini dapat mengembangkan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun instrumen AKM, sehingga guru mampu menyelenggarakan pembelajaran secara efektif dan efisien. Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, Penyusunan, Instrumen, AKM  ABSTRACT Minimum Competency Assessment is a minimum ability assessment carried out on students. The minimum ability in question is the most basic ability that must be possessed by students at a certain level, namely reading literacy and numeracy. AKM measures the thinking or reasoning competence of students when reading texts (literacy) and dealing with problems that require mathematical knowledge (numbering). Not all teachers have the knowledge and skills to compose instruments, for example, teachers at SMK Bina Kusuma Ruteng. Therefore, the community service team carried out training activities for the preparation of Minimum Competency Assessment instruments for teachers of SMK Bina Kusuma Ruteng. The training was conducted to develop teacher competence in compiling the AKM instrument to support the achievement of the expected learning objectives. The training activity was attended by 30 teachers of SMK Bina Kusuma Ruteng. This activity was carried out through several stages, namely interviews, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This activity can have a positive effect on the ability and skills of teachers in preparing the Minimum Competency Assessment instrument. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the quality of the training was in the very good category (4.75) and had an impact in the very good category (4.92). It is proven that the teachers can arrange the AKM instrument well. Meanwhile, the impact of the implementation of the training is in the very good category (4.82). Teachers can develop PKM instruments correctly, this can seen in the tasks presented by teachers. Abstract

This study aims to compare the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are taught using the problemc based learning model and the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are taught using conventional learning models in class VII students of SMP Negeri 18 Satarmese in the 2022/2023 academic year.Pretestposttest control group design is used in the quasi-experimental design of the research. There were a total of 58 students in class VII at SMP Negeri 18 Satarmese who participated in this study. Sampling in this used non-probability sampling or a sampling technique that did not provide equal opportunities or opportunities for each elemnt or member of the population to be selected as a sample, so the researchers made class VII A as the experimental class and class VII B as the control totaling 29 participants. A description-based mathematical problem solving ability test was used to gather the information. Prerequisite tests, such as homogeneity and normality tests, were carried out prior to the analysis of the data. The data from both groupd come from a population that is normally distributed and has a homogeneous variance, as demonstrated by the calculations for the normality and homogeneity tests. The N-gain score data were the ones that were analyzed using the independent t test statistical method.Based on the data analysis result obtained that the calculation result = 8,03 and = 1,67 at the significant level and degrees of freedom. Because price = 8,03 > price = 1,67, it is accepted and rejected. Therefore, there are differences in students mathematical problem solving abilities taught using the Problem Based Learning model with students mathematical problem solving abilities taught using conventional models. Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam pembelajaran. Fokus kegiatan peningkatan keterampilan ini pada inovasi guru mengembangkan dan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis video pembelajaran. Peserta kegiatan yaitu 21 orang guru di SMP Negeri 6 Langke Rembong. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa pelatihan pembuatan video pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi videoscribe. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tiga tahap yakni perencanaan (observasi), pelaksanaan (dampingan), dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini yaitu adanya peningkatan keterampilan guru SMP dalam mengembangkan video pembelajaran. Pada kegiatan pelatihan ini, 23,81% guru berhasil membuat video pembelajaran dengan kategori sangat baik, 61,90% guru berhasil membuat video pembelajaran dengan kategori baik, dan 14,29% guru berhasil membuat video pembelajaran dengan kategori cukup baik. Guru termotivasi dalam pelatihan pembuatan media pembelajaran karena kegiatan ini menjadi pengalaman baru dan sangat bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas. The goal of this service project is to enhance teachers' ability to teach. This activity focuses on the creativity of teachers in creating and implementing video-based learning materials. There were 21 teachers from SMP Negeri 6 Langke Rembong who took part in the activity. This service's activities include of instruction in creating instructional films with the video scribe program. The implementation method consists of three stages: planning (observation), implementation (assistance), and evaluation. As a result of this training exercise, junior high school instructors now possess greater expertise in creating instructional movies. The findings of this training activity are that 23.81% of instructors can make learning films in the excellent category, 61.90% of teachers in the satisfactory, and 14.29% of teachers in the deficient. Making learning media is an activity that teachers are motivated to learn since it is novel and greatly enhances the standard of instruction in the classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara kelompok siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dan yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional pada materi aritmatika sosial di kelas VII SMPK Immaculata Ruteng. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Populasinya mencakup seluruh siswa kelas VII SMPK Immaculata Ruteng dengan jumlah 211 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yaitu instrument tes. Perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dianalisis menggunakan uji t dengan rumus polled varian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa kemampuan pemecahan amsalah matematis siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari pada siswa di kelas kontrol. Hal ini berkontribusi kepada literatur dan praktisi untuk mempertimbangkan penerapan model pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing dalam pembelajaran matematika dan studi lebih lanjut disarankan pada materi lainnya. (This study aims to analyze differences in mathematical problem-solving abilities between groups of students who are taught using the guided discovery learning model and those who use conventional learning on social arithmetic material in class VII SMPK Immaculata Ruteng. This type of research is quasi-experimental research using the Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population includes all class VII students of SMPK Immaculata Ruteng with a total of 211 students. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The instrument used to measure students' mathematical problem solving abilities is the test instrument. Differences in students' mathematical problem solving abilities were analyzed using the t test with the polled variant formula. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the students' mathematical problem solving skills in the experimental class were better than those in the control class. This contributes to the literature and practitioners to consider the application of the guided discovery learning model in mathematics learning and suggested further study on other materials.).

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan suatu usaha yang dilakukan untuk membantu manusia agar dapat menerapkan nilai-nilai dan kepedulian terutama dalam etika. Profil pelajar Pancasila merupakan salah satu tujuan dari pemerintah dalam melatih siswa agar mempunyai nilai-nilai dalam etika dan mampu menerapkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pembentukan profil pelajar Pancasila tidak lepas dari nilai-nilai dalam pendidikan karakter siswa yang ditanamkan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian yang bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa dan menanamkan konsep karakter profil pelajar Pancasila kepada siswa. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pengabdian berupa ceramah dan praktik penerapan nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam profil pelajar Pancasila kedalam pembelajaran dikelas. Dalam pelaksanaannya, metode dibagi memnjadi tiga tahapan yang terdiri dari tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Dari kegiatan pengabdian ini, siswa merasa antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran yang didalamnya disertakan dengan nilai-nilai profil pelajar Pancasila dan guru mempunyai gambaran dalam penanaman nilai-nilai profil pelajar Pancasila dalam pembelajaran. Faktor pendukung dalam kegiatan ini adalah sarana dan prasarana yang tersedia di sekolah sudah memadai, hampir semua siswa terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran, dan guru terlibat dalam seluruh rangkaian kegiatan. Faktor penghambatnya yaitu masih terdapat siswa yang kurang terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran dan kurangnya pemahaman guru dalam penerapan nilai-nilai profil pelajar Pancasila dalam pembelajaran.
