Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari efektivitas pembelajaran dengan model PBL yang menggunakan pendekatan saintifik sesuai kurikulum yang ada di Indonesia ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah kimia siswa. Pemecahan masalah yang dikaji yaitu pada masalah larutan asam – basa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan menggunakan  nonequivalent control group design. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 43 siswa yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelas. Kelas eksperimen 1 menggunakan pembelajaran model PBL dengan pendekatan saintifik dan kelas eksperimen 2 dengan model yang sering dipakai guru kimia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model PBL menggunakan pendekatan saintifik pada materi asam basa efektif meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop an Android-based learning application which is named worked example mechanics. This application was made for learning classical mechanics class IX Natural Sciences Program in Indonesia. This application is specifically designed to train and improve students' ability to draw and interprete Free Body Diagram (FBD). This application contains classic mechanic material content, animated learning of classical mechanics, drawing exercises and interpreting FBD  and a self-evaluation system. This application has passed the feasibility test of both the material and the media by Yogyakarta Negeri University physics learning experts. The app is also useful in enhancing the ability to interpret FBD, in trials at Sekolah Menengah Atas 2 Kupang/SMAN 2 Kupang (State Senior High School 2 Kupang), SMAN 3 Kupang, SMA TIMPOLMAS Kupang and State Alyah Madrasah (MAN) 1 Yogyakarta

Abstract

Geometry is one of the critical subjects of mathematics. It includes concepts as points, lines, planes, space and their relations. Representations of three-dimensional objects using two-dimensional diagrams bring the difficulties of identification of their properties. The subfactors of spatial ability were identified as the primary variables in the performances of students related to geometry subject. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between spatial visualisation and spatial orientation to the students understanding of space geometry concepts matter of the eighth-grade students. There are 60 eighth grade students as a  sample of the study. The reliability and the validity studies of the tests were carried out In the first part of the study. In the second part, correlation and regression analyses were carried out. Significant correlations were found between each factor. For clarifying the relationships between more than one-factor multiple regression analyses were used. The results showed that the two predictor variables explained the 65,61 % of the variance in plane geometry test scores. However, a degree of contribution of each factor differed. The relative impact of spatial orientation ability (B=. 55) was higher than the spatial visualisation ability (B=. 28).

Abstract

Problem-posing ability is the ability to make and solve math problems. This research is qualitative research that aims to describe the ability to submit questions about prospective elementary school teachers concerning mathematical disposition. The subject of this research is the students of prospective school level teachers in the 6th semester, amounting to 3 people. The results of this study are (1) prospective primary school teachers with a high mathematical disposition can submit questions based on the information given related to addition and subtraction of ordinary and mixed fractions, the problem presented are in accordance material with moderate difficulty level, able to solve the problems posed with using a good language structure, (2) prospective primary school teacher with a moderate mathematical disposition level can form a story question based on additional information and subtraction of ordinary fractions, the questions submitted are in accordance material with a relatively low difficulty level and using a good language structure. However, unable to solve the problems raised, and (3) prospective primary school teachers with a low mathematical disposition level are not able to ask questions based on the two information provided. The prospective teacher has difficulty making a story question. These conditions have an impact on not fulfilling several other criteria, among others, conformity with the material, answers to the problems raised, language structure and the difficulty level of the question. The results of the study provide recommendations for policymakers on campus to help prospective students of elementary school teachers to develop problem-posing ability according to the level of mathematical disposition.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh integrasi media GeoGebra terhadap pemahaman konsep geometri ditinjau dari kemampuan spasial siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP SANTU Stanislaus Borong sebanyak 113 siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperiemn semu dengan desain penelitian menggunakan factorial design dengan desain treatment by level yang melibatkan sampel sebanyak 60 orang. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Dalam penelitian ini data yang diperlukan adalah data tentang kemampuan spasial dan pemahaman konsep geometri siswa. Data kemampuan spasial siswa diperoleh melalaui tes kemampuan spasial dan data pemahaman konsep matematika diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep geometry siswa. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan untuk pegujian hipotesis digunakan analisis varians (ANAVA) dua jalur melalui uji F. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa: 1) Pemahaman konsep geometri siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran berbantuan media GeoGebralebih lebih baik dari pemahaman konsep geometri siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. 2) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran berbantuan media GeoGebra dan kemampuan spasial siswa terhadap pemahaman konsep geometri siswa

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the causes and location of student difficulties in solving mathematical problems with HOTS based on the mathematical connection skills they have. This research using qualitative methods, and was conducted in the even semester of the 2017/2018 academic year at STKIP Campus Santu Paulus Ruteng. The research subjects were selected using purposive sampling technique. The selected items were three students of the STKIP Santu Paulus Ruteng Mathematics Education Study Program, with categories namely one student capable of deep mathematical connections, one student capable of moderate mathematical connections, and one student capable of high mathematical connections. The selection of subjects from each of these categories is based on the results of the identification of problems that have been carried out during the initial observation. The instrument in this study was the researchers themselves. Besides, researchers use supporting instruments, namely tests and guidelines for interviews. In conducting interviews, researchers conduct structured and unstructured interviews. The technique of data collection is done by giving written tests and interviews conducted through the triangulation process. The triangulation process aims to obtain valid data carried out by conducting repeated interviews at different times to the same research subject. The interval between the first phase of the interview with the next stage is 14 days, and because the data is saturated, so the data collection stops. Data analysis is carried out when data collection takes place, and after data collection is carried out. The steps in analyzing the data using the Miles and Huberman analysis models, namely 1) reducing data, 2) presenting data, and 3) concluding. The results showed that, in solving mathematical problems with Hots, the subject of KKMR only relied on factual knowledge but had difficulties in using conceptual, procedural and metalogical knowledge, while the KKMS subject could only use factual and procedural knowledge but had difficulty using procedural knowledge and metacognition, while KKMT subjects only had difficulty in using their metalogical knowledge but did not experience difficulties in using factual, conceptual and procedural knowledge. Learning difficulties experienced by each subject are caused because they do not often practice mathematical solving with Hots when learning mathematics.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian yang sudah dilakukan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat dan ketertarikan belajar matematika siswa kelas 1 Sekolah Dasar (SD) menggunakan visualisasi pembelajaran berbasis edugame. Pembelajaran matematika bagi siswa SDdapat ditunjang dengan media pembelajaran yang menyenangkan. Belajar matematika secara menyenangkan dapatmenggunakan media game edukasi yang berdampak pada peningkatan pemahaman konsep berhitung siswa kelas 1 SD. Belajar menyenangkan dengan game edukasi akan mempengaruhi cara berpikir siswa tentang belajar. Game edukasi yang dikembangkan ini menggunakanpower point (PPT)office 2010. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dalam dua tahap antara lain: pengembangan game edukasi dan mensosialisasikan game edukasi lewat kegiatan pameran keuskupan Ruteng. Hasil dari pengembangan PPT menjadi media game edukasi yaitu edugame matematikayang dapat menciptakan suasana belajar menyenangkan dengan cara kolaborasi konsep matematika dan wawasan lain seperti pengenalan buah bagi siswa kelas 1 SD.Game edukasi matematika yang telah dikembangkan mampu membantu guru dan orang tua untuk meningkatkan minat siswa dalam belajar matematika terutama bagi siswa kelas rendah.

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran matematika, perangkat komputer berupa spreadsheet dapat berperan sebagai alat bantu belajar siswa serta sumber belajar bagi guru agar pembelajaran menjadi lebih optimal. Spreadsheet telah meluncurkan berbagai fitur yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai media dinamis yang dapat mensimulasikan konsep matematika selain operasi aljabar, yakni visualisasi grafik fungsi kuadrat. Melalui penelitian pengembangan, peneliti terdorong untuk mengimplementasikan pembelajaran matematika yang terintegrasi media spreadsheet demi tercapainya pemahaman tentang grafik fungsi secara optimal. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan/Research and Development (R&D). Pembuatan media pembelajaran mengacu pada model pengembangan Plomp. Subjek penelitian ini siswa kelas X SMA. Selain itu, terdapat dua subjek lain yaitu validator dan guru. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran matematika berbantuan spreadsheet memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

Origami merupakan tradisi masyarakat Jepang dalam hal seni melipat kertas. Pada perkembangannya, origami berkaitan erat dengan matematika, khususnya geometri. Geometri berhubungan erat dengan perkembangan kognitif siswa. Seni melipat kertas ini disebut juga sebagai permainan melipat kertas untuk membentuk wujud-wujud yang menarik. Permainan ini menjadi salah satu hal yang menarik untuk diterapkan kepada siswa sekolah dasar (SD). Origami menjadi objek konkret untuk membantu siswa SD dalam memahami konsep geometri. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah siswa kelas V SDK Taga. Dalam kenyataannya, siswa kerapkali mengalami kecemasan dan memiliki stigma negatif terhadap matematika. Di sinilah dibutuhkan metode dan teknik pembelajaran yang menarik untuk mengatasinya. Dalam hal variasi metode dan teknik pembelajaran matematika itulah origami menjadi alternatif teknik pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan ini, siswa sangat tertarik, senang, dan antusias. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan semangat yang ditunjukkan para siswa melalui peran aktif mereka selama kegiatan.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pendekatan reciprocal teaching dan model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning serta membandingkan keefektifan dari kedua model pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa kelas X SMK Santo Aloisius Ruteng. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest-only control group design. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling, dengan terlebih dahulu dilakukan uji kesetaraan kelas. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik tes yang berbentuk uraian. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh: (1) model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pendekatan reciprocal teaching efektif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa; (2) model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning efektif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa; dan (3) model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pendekatan reciprocal teaching lebih efektif dibandingkan model pembelajaran kooperatif dengan pendekatan contextual teaching and learning terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi masukan bagi guru untuk terus melakukan inovasi pembelajaran dalam menunjang pencapaian hasil belajar siswa. Beberapa metode yang dapat digunakan adalah reciprocal teaching dan contextual teaching and learning.Abstract:This study aimed to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning with reciprocal teaching approach and the effectiveness of cooperative learning with contextual teaching and learning. It also compared the effectiveness between the two learning approaches toward the mathematical communication skills of the tenth grade students in SMK Santo Aloisius Ruteng. This research used quasi-experimental design which used pretest-posttest. The population of this research was all the tenth grade students consisting of five classes. The sampling technique used was random sampling with equality test in the beginning of sampling process. The data were obtained through test then analyzed using t-test. The results showed that: 1) the cooperative learning with reciprocal teaching approach was effective for students' mathematical communication skills; 2) the cooperative learning with contextual teaching and learning approach was effective for students' mathematical communication skills; and 3) the cooperative learning with reciprocal teaching approach was more effective for students' mathematical communication skills than the cooperative learning with contextual teaching and learning approach. Thus, the result of this research was expected that the teachers do innovative teaching approach to enhance students' mathematics learning outcomes. Several of the teaching approaches that can be implemented are reciprocal teaching and contextual teaching and learning.
