Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan, dengan tahapan terdiri dari studi pendahuluan, pengembangan produk, dan uji coba. Produk yang dikembangkan adalah instrumen kemampuan penalaran matematis pada mata kuliah Persamaan Diferensial yang terdiri dari enam soal uraian. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa instrumen yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan dapat dipakai untuk mengukur kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa. Kata kunci:       kemampuan penalaran matematis.  AbstractThis research is the development, the stage consists of preliminary studies, product development, and testing. The product developed is an instrument of mathematical reasoning abilities in Differential Equations course consisting of six questions description. The results stated that instruments developed is valid and can be used to measure student mathematical reasoning ability. Keywords:          mathematical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

Mathematics can be represented by many forms such as symbolical, verbal, graphical, or tabular representations. To understand mathematics concepts is by connecting or translating all kind of mathematics representations. Therefore, mathematics teachers should facilitate students to translation all kind of mathematics representations. This article discusses the research results which investigated how mathematics teachers implement their teaching which facilitate students to translation mathematics representations. Data were collected by questionnaire, documentation, and observation. Sample of the research were 91 mathematics teachers of junior and senior high schools from some regions of South Sumatera and Bangka Belitung. The research results show that mathematics teachers have already implemented mathematics representation properly, however representations used by the teachers were not variably, which means translations between representations were not implemented yet. By comparing all mathematics representations, the symbolical representation was the most frequently used in teaching and learning. Mathematics teachers whom did not or poorly implemented mathematics representations in their teaching considered the national examination not requiring variation of the representations.

Abstract

Limit is a main topic of calculus studied especially by students of mathematics education. Despite the fact that limit has been introduced and taught to students at the level of senior high school, there are many student’s mistakes occured in student’s answers of limit questions. These findings came from results of survey of 73 students of mathematics education by giving them some questions of limit. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa pada materi peluang setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Connected Mathematics Project (CMP) di kelas VIII. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII.1 SMPN 1 Palembang yang terdiri dari 29 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan, yaitu tes tertulis yang terdiri dari tiga soal uraian dan wawancara sebagai pendukung data tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada materi peluang secara keseluruhan dikategorikan baik dengan rata - rata adalah 76,09, dengan rincian siswa terkategori sangat baik sebanyak 20,69%, terkategori baik sebanyak 44,83%, terkategori cukup sebanyak  24,14%, dan terkategori kurang sebanyak 10,34%. Siswa yang terkategori sangat baik dan baik secara keseluruhan mampu menentukan peluang kejadian dengan mencari banyak ruang sampel dan kejadian suatu percobaan dengan baik. Sedangkan siswa yang terkategori cukup dan kurang masih belum mampu menentukan peluang kejadian yang disebabkan oleh kesalahan dalam menentukan banyak ruang sampel dan kejadian suatu percobaan. Kata kunci: hasil belajar; CMP; peluang This research is a descriptive research that aims to find out student learning outcomes in material of probability after applying model of learning namely Connected Mathematics Project (CMP) in class VIII. The subjects of this research were students of class VIII.1 from SMPN 1 Palembang which consists of 29 students. Technique of collecting data that used on this research were written test which consist of three essay question and interview as a supporter of test data. The research results shows that student learning outcomes in the material of probability overall are categorized good with the average is 76.09, with categorized of excellent students as much as 20.69%,  good categorized as much as 44.83%, enough categorized as much as 24.14% , and the low categorized as much as 10.34%. Students who are categorized excellent and good, overall are able to determine the probability of the event by finding sample space and events of an experiment well. While students who are categorized enough and low still have not been able to determine the probability of events caused by errors in determining the sample space and the event of an experiment. Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of sharing context in supporting the learning of the greatest common divisor (GCD) in class IV. The learning approach used is the Indonesian realistic mathematical approach (PMRI) which uses context. The use of context aims as a starting point in mathematics learning. The context used is sharing, in which students share candy and eggs with their classmates. It is hoped that using context relating to daily life can make learning more meaningful and students can build their own mathematical knowledge. The method used in this research is Design Research type Validation Study which includes preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. The subjects consisted of 30 students of the IVD class and a mathematics teacher at SD Negeri 157 Palembang. Data collection techniques were obtained from video recordings, student activity sheets and interviews which were then analyzed qualitatively. A series of activities demonstrated that the context of sharing can help students understand the concept of the greatest common divisor (GCD) so as to guide students in solving problems related to the greatest common divisor (GCD).

Abstract

This research aims to produce a valid, practical, and having potential effects PISA-like mathematics problems using taekwondo context in Asian Games. The subjects were MIA 3 student of SMA 10 Palembang. This study was design research of development study in which had two stages: the preliminary and formative evaluation. The formative evaluation includes self-evaluation, one-to-one and expert review, small group, and field test. The context is used to have the students estimate maximum numbers of exercising athletes in a hall with a specific size. The result of the analysis shows that the problems which were reviewed by three expert reviews are valid qualitatively based on the PISA framework; it is also practical and easy to understand the problem. Based on the analysis of students’ answer, the developed problems display potential effects on student’s diverse basic mathematical abilities on the various process of answering the problems. The basic mathematics abilities emerging among which are reasoning and argument ability. It appears that students can develop and solve the problem by modeling using their assumptions. Also, the other ability is designing strategies to solve problems in which students use various procedures in solving problems leading the conclusion.

Abstract

Developing PISA like mathematics problems using daily life context helps to improve the quality of learning. This study aimed to generate a valid, practical, and having potential effects on mathematics literacy ability PISA like mathematics problems with the context of sailing in the 2018 Asian Games. This research involved three expert reviews and 32 fifteen-years-old tenth-grade students of SMA N 10 Palembang, a public senior high school in Palembang Indonesia, as the research subjects. This study used the design research method of development studies type. The data were collected through documentation, walkthrough, tests, and interviews. The problem developed in this study is related to the length of wood required to span the sail. The results show that the problems are valid. The validity was viewed from its compatibility with the PISA framework, in which it had related the problems with daily life context of sailing in the 2018 Asian Games and space and shape content. The problems are also practical, viewed from students' understanding of the problem. And, the problems have potential effects when tested in learning issue of mathematical literacy ability. The dominant ability is reasoning and representation ability, while the communication ability is still low because the students do not give detailed answers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar program linear kelas XI berbasis android untuk pembelajaran berbasis masalah  yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi belum tersedianya bahan ajar program linear berbasis android yang memuat model pembelajaran didalamnya, terutama pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Pengembangan bahan ajar program linear ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Peneliti mendapatkan data penelitian melalui walktrough, observasi serta angket peserta didik. Bahan ajar program linear ini dinyatakan valid berdasarkan hasil validasi dan uji coba one to one dengan ditinjau dari tiga aspek, yaitu konten, konstruk, serta bahasa. Kepraktisan bahan ajar ini ditinjau dari hasil observasi dan angket peserta didik pada uji coba small group. Hasil observasi dan angket peserta didik menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar program linear berbasis android untuk pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang peneliti kembangkan telah praktis dengan masing masing memperoleh presentase sebesar 92,00% dan 90,00%.This research aims to produce linear program teaching material for 11th grade is based by android for problem based learning that is valid and practical. This research is motivated by there is not linear program teaching material is based by android which has model learning, especially problem based learning. The development of linear program teaching materials is done using the ADDIE development model. Researchers obtain research data through walkthrough, observation and student questionnaires. This linear program teaching material is declared valid based on the results of the validation and trials one-to-one reviewed from three aspects, namely content, construct, and language. The practicality of this teaching material is reviewed from the observations and questionnaires of students in the trial small group. The results of observations and questionnaires of students showed that the teaching materials for android-based linear programs for problem-based learning that researchers developed were practical with each getting a percentage of 92.00% and 90.00%.

Abstract

The aim of research was to produce valid, practical and had potential-effect to mathematic literacy ability in PISA like mathematics problem in using row sports context at Asian Games 2018. The research method used development research with development studies type. The subjects of the research were the students with 15 years old of class X SMAN 10 Palembang. The techniques of collecting data were used documentation, walkthrough, test, and interview. This research produced the problem about how the students determined how many benches could be made by only knowing length and width of the boats. The results showed that the problem developed (1) valid from the suitability with the framework PISA regarding content, context, literacy process and level of questions that was connected problems with daily life accordance experts review and one to one stage (2) practical because the problem could be understood by students accordance small group stage, and (3) had a potential effect from the result of analyze the student’s answer in mathematical literacy ability with representation and reasoning ability as dominant accordance field test stage.
