Abstract

Blended learning is a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning. Implementing blended learning in mathematics learning has some problems, one of which is proving mathematics. This study aims to describe the obstacles to implementing blended learning in universities. The research was carried out at two universities in Indonesia located on the islands of Sumatra and Java. The subject of this research is the lecturer of the Mathematics Education Study Program at the two universities. The data collection technique used is an open questionnaire. The data were analyzed qualitatively and descriptively quantitatively. The study's results stated that lecturers faced many obstacles in implementing blended learning, mainly Internet, Time, Competence, and Student Personality.

Abstract

The need for teaching materials is needed to help improve effective learning and student understanding. This study aims to produce numeration-based teaching materials in algebraic forms for blended learning that are valid, practical and have a potential effect on students' numeracy abilities. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires, tests and interviews. The sample of this research was 24 class VII students of one of the state Junior High School in Palembang. The validity of teaching materials was seen from the aspects of content feasibility, language feasibility, display feasibility, also comments and suggestions from the results of one-to-one trials. The practicality of teaching materials can be seen from the questionnaire. The average score for the validity of teaching materials is 74.77 with the criteria being quite valid or suitable for use with revisions. While the average practicality score of teaching materials is 87.08 with very practical criteria. The developed teaching materials also have a potential effect on numeracy skills as seen from the test results with 8 students in the very good category, 9 students in the good category, 4 students in the moderate category and 3 students in the poor category.

Abstract

Abstract

Relational comprehension represents a critical skill that students should acquire to correctly associate concepts. This investigation aims to cultivate a High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based Student Worksheet that is both valid and practical, as well as effective, with the potential to significantly influence the relational comprehension of senior high school students. The 'design research' method, incorporating a 'formative research' development model, is used in this research, which is broken down into two stages: initial assessment and self-review. This study was carried out at Muhammadiyah 1 High School in Palembang, focusing on tenth-grade students. Data was evaluated qualitatively in a descriptive manner, founded on observations, interviews, and tests. The study's findings highlight that the developed HOTS-based student worksheet is valid, practical, and efficient in boosting students' relational comprehension once implemented in the classroom. The test outcomes indicate that students possess a reasonably good ability to comprehend HOTS category C4 problems, but are lacking in understanding HOTS category C5 problems. Therefore, additional research is deemed necessary to enhance students' understanding of HOTS category C5 problems.

Abstract

Learners still need help in using patterns and relationships to analyze mathematical situations. This study aimed to positively impact E-LKPD on number pattern material based on computational thinking with Malay Islamic context on students' mathematical reasoning. This research is design research with the type of development studies that have preliminary research, prototype stage, and summative evaluation stages. Data collection techniques in this research are questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The data analysis techniques in this study are questionnaires and interviews conducted qualitatively and tests measured based on mathematical reasoning indicators. The result of this research is that the E-LKPD developed is valid, obtained from expert validation and confirmation of students who get comments and suggestions. In addition, the E-LKPD, which is practical, can be seen in students responding to the E-LKPD. Applying E-LKPD allows students to write what is known from the problem, find patterns, and connect them to determine the right solution procedure. The research conclusion shows that applying E-LKPD based on computational thinking impacts students' mathematical reasoning ability. The implication of this research can improve students' critical thinking skills.
