Students Instrumental Motivation: An Investigating toward English Learning of Students in Islamic Higher Education Idham Kholid; Supriyadi Supriyadi

This study attempts to explore the profile of instrumental motivation of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Raden Intan Lampung students; comparing instrumental motivation of students of English and non-English major. The design of this research is descriptive qualitative. The survey is conducted to 145 students of English major and 784 students of non-English major as a sample. Questionnaire and interview were employed to collect the data. Research result reveals that students of English major have higher instrumental motivation compared to the students of non-English major, especially related to their future expected job. Interestingly, this study found that differences in motivation between students of English and non-English major arise due to the students' differences orientation on their interest in English. Expecting to acquire a job requiring them to use English, students of English major were likely to possess a higher interest in learning the language. Conversely, students of non-English major do not think that they need English for their prospective job. Therefore, the students of non-English major tend to think that English doesn't support their future careers too much. The findings of this study indicate that for many UIN Raden Intan Lampung students, English is not considered as a useful instrument for their academic activities. The student perspective of English is still segmented.

This research aims to develop a medium of learning physics ludo game of the subject of the circular motion. One of the problems of education is the lack of facilities and infrastructure, so that teachers are required creative in improving the quality of learning in class, such as developing learning media. One interesting learning media and boredom of students in learning activities that game-based learning, such as the application of instructional media ludo game.The method used is research and development are adopting from Borg and Gall which has been modified by Sugiyono of 10 stages to 7 stages. The collection of data used in this study a questionnaire given to subject matter experts, media specialists, classroom teachers and learners class X. The resulting data type is qualitative data and quantitative data to determine the feasibility of product research and development resulted in physics teaching media in the form of the game ludo valid to be used based on those ratings of validator penilaian82,2% gain material experts, media expert validator obtained 93.70% votes, ratings teachers gained 82.76% votes. Assessment test responses of participants trained in small groups obtain a percentage value of 86.69% and uiji field trials of each school (I) 84.50% (II) 81.12%, (III) of 82.67%, which means that the media can be accepted by learners. This research aims to investigate students's grammatical errors (morphological and syntactical) on phrase and clause level in English essay of UIN Raden Intan Lampung students’ as the basis for future learning material developement. Qualitative approach is used in this research. Research method which is used is descriptive qualitative with content analysis technique. Research data are words and sentences with morphological and syntactical error. In this research, interactive data analysis is used. The steps of the data analysis are data reduction, data display, and conclusion as well as verification. Validity of the data is done by using source triangulation. Based on the analysis and discussion result, there are several findings. The first is 3 types of morphological errors. They are noun, verb, and adjactive errors. The second is 5 syntactical errors. They are noun phrases (NP), verb phrases (VP), adverbial phrase (AvP, noun clause, and adjective clause errors. The third is the most dominant error (verb use error). There were 56 verb errors out of 107 total errors.

The study aims are: 1) to explain the effect of training on teachers’ performance, 2) to explain the effect of teaching experience on teachers’ performance, and 3) to explain the effect of training and teaching experience on teachers’ performance. The study population are all elementary school teachers in the District of Lemong Pesisir Barat consist 179 people, while the sample in this study amounted to 64 respondents. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of verification research and uses data collection techniques, namely interviews and questionnaires. The analytical research are descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. The results showed that 1) Training partially had a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance, 2) teaching experience partially had a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance, and 3) Training and teaching experience simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on teachers’ performance.

Based on the research results, Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Pesawaran and Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Pesawaran have implicitly implemented Total quality management, especially the concept of The Juran Trilogy as an effort to maintain and improve school quality. This is implemented through 1) Quality Planning, in the form of making a more comprehensive assessment guide that is adapted to Permendikbud No. 23 of 2016. 2) Quality Control, where the Principal always conducts monitoring and evaluation of programs that have been made, work assessments and joint evaluation meetings, and Carrying out Supervision of Program Activities. 3) Quality Improvement, namely by implementing class IX tutoring starting in January 3 times a week to increase the average score of the National exam, Implementation of extra-curricular English Club and providing opportunities for teachers to attend training, seminars, workshops, and others. In addition, by setting a permanent strategy to maintain and improve quality through a SWOT analysis in which the determination of the strategy is seen from the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of strategies that can be suggested, namely (Sending Organization) (Strategy, Strength, and Threat) strategy, (Weakness- Opportunity) Strategies and (Weaknesses-Threats) strategies that are useful for formulating strategic plans for Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 1 Pesawaran and Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 2 Pesawaran to achieve the objectives of the key success factors.

The performance in question according that Wirawan is oriented to the outcome of a goodwork done by workers who are based on certain skills (profession) and work without beingbased on the work with expertise.The purpose of the research in this journal is to know thework of the administrative officer in the MAN of Lampung province.The results of this studyindicate that (a) the Planning of administrative performance in the Financial AdministrationService has been in accordance with the mechanism in arrange the planning performancemanagement, (b) the communication of the performance of the administration in the FinancialAdministration service has a managerial competence with its style so that it can improve theperformance of the administrative staff who serve the financial administration, (c) evaluationof the performance of administration in the financial administrative services to the supervisionto evaluate the quality of work of the administration in the financial services to the head ofadministration, (d) the development of the performance of the administration in the financialservices conducted through the motivation to improve knowledge through formal educationand training held by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Head of administration of MANLampung Province has shown good work in providing services, however not yet 100% butapproximately 90% already working provide good service for the satisfaction of teachers,students or interested parties. For example, work on assignments and requests according towhat is commanded. Administrative officers have many ways that can be done in improvingperformance, especially in providing services such as improving existing skills by providingand involving employees in all forms of training. This study aims to determine the effect of Example Non-Example (ENE) learning model in improving students' writing description skills. Example Non-Example (ENE) learning model is a type of learning that utilizes images in conveying learning material. Students are required to analyze the picture shown by the educator then pour it into the written description. This research method is a kind of quantitative research types quasy Experiment Design. The population in this study were all grade IV students of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung. The sample in this study was class IV C as an experimental class, and class IV A as a control class. The sampling technique is to use the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data analysis techniques using the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing (t-test). Based on the results of this study there is the influence of the Example Non Example (ENE) learning model and the conventional learning model on the writing skills of the students' description. That is, there is the influence and the difference between the experimental class and control class.

Peneliti melaporkan hasil penelitian terkait efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran dalam memudahkan memahami konsep materi fisika. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah model pembelajaran ARIAS, ditinjau dari sikap ilmiah siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperiment. Post-test only control group design dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes untuk mendapatkan data pemahaman konsep, sedangkan metode angket untuk mendapatkan informasi sikap ilmiah. Uji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan anava dua jalan. Simpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1). Model pembelajaran ARIAS lebih efektif daripada model pembelajaran konvensional terhadap pemahaman konsep fisika siswa; (2). Sikap ilmiah siswa berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep fisika siswa; (3). Tidak terdapat interaksi antara penerapan model pembelajaran ARIAS dan konvensional, ditinjau dari sikap ilmiah terhadap pemahaman konsep fisika siswa.The Effectiveness of The Arias Learning Model In Terms of Scientific Attitudes: The Impact on Understanding The Concept of Static FluidsThe researcher reports the research result toward of how students understand on physics learning concept material efficiently. A research method that used is Quasi-experiment, by using post-test only control group design with purposive sampling technique. Data collecting technique uses test method to achieve data concept understanding, meanwhile, questionnaire method to achieve scientific character information. Hypothesis testing of the research uses two ways analysis of variance. The conclusion of the research are; (1). ARIAS learning model is more efficient than conventional learning model toward students understanding on physics concept; (2). The scientific attitude of students influencing on students physics concept understanding; (3). There is no interaction between ARIAS learning model application and conventional learning model, as seen on students scientific attitude toward physics concept understanding.

This study aims to understand how village heads apply prophetic leadership in building religious character in Panca Jaya District, Mesuji Regency, Lampung. To understand the phenomena in the field, the researcher uses a qualitative case study approach. The data collection technique is done through interviews, observation, and documentation. Since being in the field, the data analysis was conducted concerning the Milles and Huberman concept. The results showed that the prophetic leadership applied by the village head was displayed through humanist leadership through amar ma’ruf nahi munkar, liberation leadership, and transcendence leadership. This study implies the importance of leaders to have the ability to interact, communicate and socialize in carrying out a clear vision to gain the trust of the community.

This study aims to understand service orientation, integrity, and commitment in the performance management system of the head of administration within the scope of students in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Lampung Province. This study uses a phenomenological qualitative approach, where the researcher uses interviews, observations, and documentation to obtain data. The data analysis refers to the interactive data analysis model from Milles & Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results showed that service orientation, integrity, and commitment in the administrative performance management system at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Lampung Province were carried out in a planned and systematic way through various varied activities to be able to provide good service to students. This research has implications for improving the quality of administrative resources in providing optimal services to students and stakeholders.
