Abstract

The role of scientific and technological knowledge is needed to compete in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. One of the roles of scientific knowledge is by analyzing the scientific literacy ability of pre-service physics teachers. This research aims to find out how far the achievement of scientific literacy possesses by current pre-service physics teachers. The measurement of scientific literacy encompasses two aspects, namely, competence and knowledge aspects. The subjects of this research were thirty pre-service physics teachers from Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung (State Islamic University Raden Intan Lampung) selected by using purposive sampling. The research instrument used in this research was a test of scientific literacy ability. The data analysis techniques used consisted of data reduction, data display, and verification. The result of the study indicated that some indicators of scientific literacy skills need to be improved. The results showed that there were differences in the achievement of literacy skills in each indicator. In the aspect of competence, the indicator of Indicating Scientific Issues aspects of competence covers identifying issues scientifically (poor), explaining phenomena scientifically (good), using scientific evidence (poor). The aspects of knowledge: content Knowledge (good), procedural knowledge (poor), epistemic knowledge (moderate). Overall the scientific literacy ability of the pre-service physics teachers has not shown satisfying results. It can be concluded that pre-service physics teachers’ literacy ability should be improved. A special strategy is needed that can improve the scientific literacy skills of prospective physics teachers so that the students who will teach in the future also could have good scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

This research have a main problem is about the low understanding of mathematical concepts of students. This can be seen from the indicator of interpretation, namely when given a matter of concept understanding in the form of a description, the students just answer the question without any description of the steps in doing the questions or identifying the data in the questions. In addition, schools also have not maximized the use of learning media. Looking at these problems, the authors are interested in applying the Reciprocal Teaching model assisted with didactic design modules to increase understanding of mathematical concepts. This type of research is a quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental). The population in this study were all eighth grade students of 7th KOTABUMI SMP Negeri 2018/2019. The taking of sample was done randomly for random class. Data collection techniques are in the form of observations, interviews and question tests of mathematical concept understanding. The testing of data was done by the Lilifors method for normality tests and Barlett's method to test homogeneity. The analysis technique used in this study is the analysis of one-way variant with unequal cells.The testing of this hypothesis uses a one-way variance analysis with unequal cells, with a significant level of 0.05 from the results of the data obtained Fobs = 51.39948 and Ftable = 3.098. Fobs value> Ftable then H0 is rejected. This means that there is the influence of Reciprocal Teaching learning model assisted by the didactic design module to increase understanding of mathematical concepts of students. Based on the results of multiple comparisons it can be concluded that the Reciprocal Teaching learning model assisted with the didactic design module is better than the conventional model, but not better than the Reciprocal Teaching model. Keywords: Reciprocal Teaching, Didactics, Concepts, Modules,

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the results of the application of the Wankat-oreovocz strategy on students' ability to understand concepts and solve mathematical problems. This study uses a quasi-experimental research type. The sample in this study were students of class XIA and XIB MA Darun Nasyi'in, East Lampung.The sample in this study were students of class XIA and XIB MA Darun Nasyi'in, East Lampung. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The research data collection techniques were in the form of tests and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the normality and homogeneity test.Testing the hypothesis in this study using the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (Manova) test.The results of the study and the Manova test calculation, concluded that there was an effect of the wankat-oreovocz strategy on the ability tounderstand concepts. There is an effect of the wankat-oreovocz strategy on problem solving abilities. There is an effect of the wankat-oreovocz strategy on students' ability to understand concepts and solve mathematical problems.

Abstract

 The Kurikulum 2013 –Indonesia's novel Curriculum invented in 2013– is implemented through activity-based learning using a scientific approach. Curriculum changes do not only occur in the dimensions of the plan/document, but in its implementation in the quality of the process which has an impact on learning outcomes. This research aims to determine the implementation of the Kurikulum 2013 scientific approach and its impact on the quality of the learning processes and outcomes at MAN in Lampung Province. The research uses a mixed methods with sequential mixed methods design. The respondents consisted of 26 teachers and 126 students. Data were collected by conducting interview, observation, documentation, and questionnaire. The validity was tested by Pearson’s validity and Cronbach Alpha reliability. The results showed that teachers can apply a scientific approach to the implementation of the Kurikulum 2013 well. It can be seen from the teacher’s ability to prepare lesson plans, though there are some teachers (working period of 21 to 30 years) who are constrained during the learning process, such as observing the learning and not being able in presenting the media. The scientific approach has a very good impact on the quality of the learning process and outcomes. It can be seen by the increase in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to formulate a model for the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic management systems in Islamic higher education institutions to achieve the goals they have set in a competitive and dynamic environment. The researchers conducted this study at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Raden Intan Lampung for nine months, from January to September 2020. This study employed the qualitative paradigm of phenomenology. The strategy to realize excellence is known as the university strategies. The strategies consist of ten aspects: 1) increasing the quality of inputs, 2) increasing superior learning processes and outcomes based on the competency and expertise areas, 3) increasing research and research-based service by emphasizing the significance of the results, 4) improving the quality of human resources, 5) improving students’ achievement academically and non-academically, 6) increasing financial independence, environmentally sound assets, land, and infrastructure, 7) increasing accreditation rankings, 8) mainstreaming information technology as the backbone of credible, accountable, transparent, responsible and just governance, 9) improving cooperation, and 10) improving collaboration with other institutions and universities. This research can be a reference for universities' policy-makers in revising the universities' management.

Abstract

Curriculum is one element that contributes greatly to realizing the students’ quality and potential development. To face the challenges that will befall the world of education in Indonesia, clarity of the curriculum and its implementation is needed to improve the performance of education which is far behind the developed countries in the world. This study aims to see how to improve the quality of curriculum implementation at Madrasah Aliyah in Bandar Lampung City. The researcher employed the mixed methods with source explanatory design and source triangulation design involving 34 teachers in two madrasahs in Bandar Lampung City. The study revealed that teachers' ability to prepare lesson plans influences their performance in learning. The percentage of effects obtained from MAN 1 Bandar Lampung was 36.6 percent, while the percentage value obtained from MAN 2 Bandar Lampung was 46.4 percent. The results are in line with the theory that the teacher's ability to prepare lesson plans will positively impact the teacher's ability to carry out learning. The results in both schools show that the greater the teacher's ability to prepare lesson plans, the greater the teacher's ability to carry out learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of MASTER learning models (Motivating, Acquiring, Searching, Triggering, Exhibiting, and Reflecting) on ​​mathematical literacy in terms of gender differences. The method used in this study is Quasy Experimental Design. A random sampling technique took a sample of 60 students. Data collection is carried out with written tests and documentation. The method uses an analysis of variance (ANOVA). Hypothesis testing uses two different path tests of variance analysis in cells. The results showed that there were mixed effects of each learning model on students' mathematical literacy abilities. There was no influence between female and male gender on students' mathematical literacy abilities. There was no interaction between learning models and gender differences in students' mathematical literacy abilities. The teacher must strive to improve the mathematical literacy skills of middle school students so that students are more motivated to learn. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran MASTER (Motivating, Acquiring, Searching, Triggering, Exhibiting, and Reflecting)terhadap literasi matematis ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Quasy Experimental Design. Sampel sebanyak 60 siswa yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan tes tertulis dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis variansi (ANOVA). Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji analisis variansi dua jalan sel tak sama. Hasil penelitian menunjukanterdapat pengaruh yang berbeda antara masing-masing model pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik. Tidak terdapat pengaruh antara gender perempuan dan laki-laki terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik. Tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan perbedaan gender terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik SMP, pendidik harus berupaya agar peserta didik lebih termotivasi untuk belajar.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the increase in understanding of mathematical concepts using the Peer Tutoring method and digital pocketbooks. The research conducted was experimental research. This study used random sampling with cluster random sampling technique. The data collection technique is using a test (essay). The data analysis technique in this study is the normality gain (N-gain). The data analysis technique applied to test the hypothesis in this study was the ANOVA of the same cell path. The results of data analysis and hypothesis testing that have been carried out can be concluded that there is an effect of Peer Tutoring Method learning using learning media assisted by digital pocketbooks on the ability to understand mathematical concepts. Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis dengan Peer Tutoring Method dan buku saku digital. Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian eksperimen. Penelitian ini menggunakan random sampling dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah menggunakan Tes (essay). Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini adalah dengan normalitas gain (N-gain). Teknik analisis data-yang diterapkan untuk menguji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan ANOVA satu jalan sel sama. Hasil analisis data dan pengujian hipotesis yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya pengaruh penggunaan pembelajaran Peer Tutoring Method menggunakan media pembelajaran berbantu buku saku digital terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how Multicultural Content-Based Islamic Educational Content. The research is run using a descriptive-qualitative approach (multi-case multi-site). The data were collected through in-depth interviews to two experts of Islamic education and focus group interviews to four teachers who have had work experience of seven to twenty years. Furthermore, the data were analyzed qualitatively using NVIVO 10.0 software. The results of the research show that the content of Islamic-Based Multicultural Education Learning is: Explaining the concept of aqidah and muamalah, Designing material by applying multicultural and emphasizing on equality principle, Making culture as Content, and Rahmatalillalamin Islam concept.
