Abstract

Procrastination as an act of delaying assignments or work by doing things that are not related to assignments has the potential to become an obstacle to academic achievement. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of self-management and cognitive restructuring of rational emotive behavior therapy counseling groups to reduce students' academic procrastination. By doing a pretest-posttest comparison it was applied to 12 students at SMP Negeri 3 Wangi-Wangi Selatan. The instrument used is the academic procrastination scale based on the indicators put forward. The data analysis technique used was the Mann-Whitney T-test paired sample. The results of this study indicate that the rational emotive behavior therapy group counseling approach, self-management techniques and cognitive restructuring techniques are effective in reducing students' academic procrastination. The findings of this study prove that group counseling, rational emotive behavior therapy approaches, self-management techniques and cognitive restructuring techniques are effective in reducing academic procrastination. Based on the findings of this study, a rational emotive behavior therapy group counseling intervention is recommended for counselors to reduce student academic procrastination.

Abstract

Any guidance and counseling services at school will affect students’ development. Thus, all counseling programs at school must be in line with the school vision and missions to emerge innovations in problem-solving so that finally the counseling programs can result changes in students’ behavior and obtain public trust for the school. Regarding this background, the present study attempted to describe the implementation of guidance and counseling services at a senior high school level. It was a qualitative study which involved 9 subjects, namely one school counselor, a school principal, two subject teachers, two guardians, and three students selected using snowball and purposive sampling techniques. Their data were collected using interviews and analyzed using an interactive qualitative model, covering data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results were 1) the guidance and counseling model implemented at the Islamic senior high school was focused on Islamic counseling which emphasized religious aspects in its services, 2) both school counselors and subject teachers collaborated and provided services which were based on religious teachings, and 3) the collaboration increased public trust to school and resulted better counsellor performance. In conclusion, the guidance and counseling services at the school run well due to the collaboration between counsellors and stakeholders, not to mention the strategic counseling.

Abstract

Making career decisions is crucial for students to determine the education or job that aligns with their interests, talents, or opportunities in line with their vocational identity. This study aimed to analyze the impact of parental career-related behavior on three aspects: support, interference, and lack of engagement on career anxiety and career decision-making. It was a quantitativeresearch with a correlational research design and involved 297 twelfth graders at vocational high school (SMK) as the samples. Following the students’ data analysis there found that parental career-related behavior, regarding support and lack of engagement significantly influenced career anxiety and decision-making. In contrast, the interference aspect only significantly affected career anxiety, but not career decision-making. Furthermore, career anxiety significantly affected career decision-making. Lasltly, this study provides insight into parental involvement (parental career-related behavior) in students' career development. High career anxiety should be reduced to enhance student's ability to make career decisions.

Abstract

Hedonistic behavior refers to attitudes that prioritize pleasure, spending time outside the home, playing more, and enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city solely for the sake of pleasure, which result in negative behavior. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the influence of poetry appreciation on spiritual intelligence and hedonistic behavior. It was a quantitative study which used a correlational design and involved a total of 390 respondents as the study sample. Their data were collected using the instruments of the Attitudes to Beauty Scale (EBS), the Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory (SISRI-24), and the Female Hedonistic Behavior Questionnaire (FHBQ). Following the data collection and analysis, it was found that poetry appreciation significantly influenced spiritual intelligence. Furthermore, poetry appreciation had a significant indirect influence through the mediation of spiritual intelligence on hedonistic behavior. Based on these findings, it is recommended that counselors utilize and encourage students to assess and understand life phenomena expressed in poetry to enhance spiritual intelligence and reduce hedonistic behavior.

Abstract

Academic resilience is significant for students, particularly vocational school students, because they are trained to become skilled and adaptive workers who are able to meet business/industry needs in accordance with developments in science, technology and art. If they do not have good academic resilience, they will lack courage, perseverance, rationality and insight. Based on these issues, the present study strived for investigating the relationship between the strength of faith and academic resilience mediated by ihsan goal orientation and self-efficacy. It used a correlational design and involved 278 grade eleven students. Based on the analysis, there found a positive relationship between strength of faith and ihsan goal orientation, self-efficacy, and academic resilience, ihsan goal orientation and self-efficacy were positively related to academic resilience, and lastly, ihsan goal orientation and self-efficacy had an indirect and positive relationship with strength of faith and academic resilience. Thus, counselors are advised to provide counseling services to enhance strength of faith, ihsan goal orientation, and self-efficacy to improve students’ resilience.

Abstract

Manusia lahir dengan seluruh potensi yang perlu untuk dikembangkan oleh lingkungan, diawali oleh orang tuanya (lembaga informal) dan dilanjutkan oleh guru (di lembaga pendidikan) serta masyarakat (lembaga non formal). Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana kolaborasi bimbingan orang tua, guru, dan masyarakat dapat berkontribusi dalam kesuksesan pembelajar dasar di era digital dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi hal tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sementara teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini mengadaptasi pola yang digunakan oleh Miles dan Huberman, yaitu tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pengambilan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah : (1) Bentuk-bentuk kolaborasi dalam kesuksesan pembelajar di era digital seperti kolaborasi orang tua dapat dilakukan dengan cara membangun komunikasi yang harmonis dengan pembelajar dasar, kolaborasi guru dapat dilakukan dengan melakukan aktivitas yang beragam di luar kegiatan belajar mengajar dengan menyediakan waktu berkonsultasi dan kunjungan dengan pendekatan kekeluargaan, koaborasi dengan tokoh masyarakat dapat dilakukan dengan cara aktualisasi keteladanan sosial; (2) Faktor pendukung kesuksesan pembelajar di era digital, yaitu keterlibatan orangtua dalam memberikan ruang psikologis yang nyaman bagi pembelajar dasar ketika belajar bersama keluarga, kompetensi guru yang rata-rata sarjana memungkinkan guru memiliki wawasan luas dalam proses belajar maupun memanajemen kelas, serta tokoh masyarakat terlibat secara aktif maupun pasif pada jam belajar pembelajar dasar. Sementara faktor penghambat kesuksesan pembelajar di era digital yaitu kerjasama seluruh aspek pendidikan (orangtua, guru dan tokoh masyarakat) yang kurang integral.

Abstract

Tembang lir ilir dikenal sebagai kearifan lokal yang mendunia. Nilai filosofi tembang lir ilir dapat diterapkan dalam pembentukan karakter melalui layanan bimbingan dan konseling. Artikel ini membahas tentang makna nilai tembang lir ilir dalam pembentukan karakter. Internalisasi nilai tembang lir ilir memiliki makna yang dalam bila digunakan dalam pembentukan karakter dan dapat diterapkan dalam layanan bimbingan dan konseling. Penelitian ini menggunaan metode kualitatif, deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data dokumentasi kepustakaan serta analisis data dengan metode analisis isi. diartikan sebagai generasi muda yang masih memiliki waktu untuk berproses maju dan diharapkan memiliki tanggung jawab akan perilakunya, dengan harapan akan membangun dan memajukan bangsa. Makna dari setiap bait tembang lir ilir dapat digunakan sebagai dasar dari pendidikan karakter dan membangun nilai-nilai moral siswa. Layanan dalam bimbingan dan konseling menjadi salah satu cara untuk membentuk pendidikan karakter siswa, dengan menggunakan layanan bimbingan kelompok pendidikan karakter dapat diterapkan kepada siswa.

Abstract

Nonsuicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) yang lebih dikenal dengan self-injury atau self-harm, merupakan tindakan yang dilakukan dengan sengaja untuk melukai diri sendiri. Pelaku self-injury melukai dirinya tidak untuk menciptakan rasa sakit fisik, tetapi untuk menenangkan rasa sakit emosional yang mendalam. Sebuah tinjauan literatur menunjukkan bahwa kelompok-kelompok ini pernah melakukan self-injury : sekitar 18% remaja (usia 10-17 tahun) dan 13% orang dewasa awal (usia 18-24 tahun) telah melukai diri sendiri; sekitar 20% di antaranya adalah mahasiswa. Banyak orang yang melukai diri sendiri tumbuh dalam keluarga dimana ekspresi emosi dan kemarahan tidak ditoleransi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif studi kasus, pengumpulan datanya dengan wawancara semi terstruktur, observasi, dan studi documenter. Responden penelitian ini adalah : Ayah dan ibu pelaku self-injury, 5 pasang, dan bersedia menjadi responden. Analisis Data yang digunakan adalah Model Miles dan Huberman (1994). Hasilnya ada sembilan tema yang menggambarkan bahwa orangtua yang memberi pengaruh paling kuat dalam pembentukan konsep diri pada anak, kurang dapat menjalankan fungsi dan perannya sebagaimana mestinya. Peran keluarga, terutama orangtua sangat dibutuhkan untuk mengembangkan konsep diri anak menjadi lebih positif, agar dapat mengatasi tindakan NSSI.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil-hasil penelitian di negara barat, diketahui bahwa penyandang disabilitas mengalami kendala dalam memeroleh pekerjaan. Hal ini disebabkan masih ada diskriminasi untuk mereka. Pemberi kerja dan masyarakat masih beranggapan bahwa mereka kurang produktif dalam bekerja. Bagaimana dengan Indoensia ?. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah library research, yaitu menggali hasil-hasil penelitian di Indonesia yang mengangkat tentang karir dan disabilitas. Sumber diperoleh dari sinta.kemendikbud.goid. Jurnal yang dipilih adalah jurnal yang terakrditasi SINTA 1 dan 2. Melalui hasil-hasil penelitian tersebut, diketahui bahwa ada faktor internal dan eksternal yang menghambat penyadang disabilitas dalam mendapatkan pekerjaan. Penyandang disabilitas berminat untuk membuka wirausaha tetapi masih mengalami kebingungan. Untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut perlu ada bantuan dari luar yang dapat mendukung penyandang disabilitas dalam berkembang. Sinergi antara perguruan tinggi dengan pemerintah dan industi diharapkan dapat membantu penyandang disabilitas dalam membuka wirasuaha.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pendidikan karakter di Indonesia perlu ditingkatkan di seting pendidikan melalui layanan bimbingan dan konseling. Salah satu virtue yang perlu ditingkatkan yakni humility sebagai dasar pengembangan kekuatan karakter dan moral. Upaya peningkatan humility melalui layanan konseling mindfulness untuk siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan trend riset mindfulness dan humility dengan fokus riset di tahun 2012 hingga 2022 dan penjelasan implikasi layanan konseling di sekolah. Selain itu, peneliti juga menganalisis penulis yang berfokus pada riset mindfulness dan humility. Studi ini menggunakan analisis bibliometrik dengan sampel data sebanyak 999 dokumen dari pencarian google schoolar berbantuan Publish or Perish (PoP). Data tersebut kemudian disimpan dalam bentuk CSV yang diinput pada VosViewer dengan hasil 41 kata kunci yang dibagi menjadi 8 kluster sesuai dari keyword pencarian yakni mindfulness dan humility. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sangat bervariasi topik yang relevan untuk diteliti berkaitan mindfulness dan humility berdasarkan sumber bacaan dari Google Scholar Search di tahun 2012-2022. Cultural humility menjadi hasil topik pencarian yang dominan dan memiliki keterhubungan dengan pembelajaran, pedagogi, traumatic, awareness dan juga cultural competence. Implikasi dari hasil studi ini menjadikan dasar pengembangan riset terkait layanan konseling di sekolah. Abstract. Character education in Indonesia needs to be improved in educational settings through guidance and counseling services. One of the virtues that need to be improved is humility as the basis for developing character and moral strength. Efforts to increase humility through mindfulness counseling services for students. This study aims to describe the trend of mindfulness and humility research with a focus on research in 2012 to 2022 and explain the implications of counseling services in schools. In addition, researchers also analyzed authors who focused on mindfulness and humility research. This study uses bibliometric analysis with a data sample of 999 documents from a google schoolar search assisted by Publish or Perish (PoP). The data is then stored in CSV form which is inputted into VosViewer with the results of 41 keywords which are divided into 8 clusters according to the search keywords, namely mindfulness and humility. The results of the study show that there are many relevant topics for research related to mindfulness and humility based on reading sources from Google Scholar Search in 2012-2022. Cultural humility is the dominant search topic and has links to learning, pedagogy, trauma, awareness and also cultural competence. The implications of the results of this study form the basis for developing research related to counseling services in schools. Further research recommendations will be discussed in this article.
