Abstract

Textbooks are the crucial factors governing learning sustainability and are also easy to find for students and teachers and learners in the learning process. An analysis of the book is an activity that is carried out to identify the completeness and harmonious content of the book's material. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of environmental literacy in first grade (x-class) of Senior High School, biology textbook based on the environmental literacy aspect: natural history and ecology, knowledge of environmental issues and issues, cognitive socio-political knowledge, cognitive skills, factors that influence and define responsible behaviour toward the environment, and responsible behaviour toward the environment. The study analyzed three different biological textbooks by publishing. The biology textbook analysis for first grade (x-class) of Senior High School were based on the 2 chapters of environmental literacy, which are ecosystem material and environmental change materials. The study is a descriptive study with content analysis. Instruments in this study use assessment instruments with 6 indicators and 30 statements validator already validated. Based on the analysis, results from a percentage of the book I were Grafindo publisher 31.66% (enough eligible category), Intan Parawirapublisher of were 32.2% (enough eligible category), the Erlangga book showed 32.7% (enough eligible category).

Abstract

Increased public awareness for a healthy diet must be balanced with successful cultivation. Organic farming system is the right choice since it leaves all non-organic components. This study aims to identify the chemical and microbiological properties of agricultural soils that apply organic systems located in Batang Buluh Village, Pematang Johar, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. Chemical analysis was carried out at Socfindo Laboratory in Medan, including testing the pH of H2O, total P and K, C Organic, N Kjehldahl, and CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity). Soil microbiological tests were carried out at Medan Regional Health Lab including gram staining tests and biochemical tests. The results of chemical analysis from the analysis of pH H2O, P and total K, Organic C, N Kjehldahl, and CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity) at the edges and middle each obtained that was pH 5 -6, soil total P content was 0.0260% up to 0.450%, available K analysis, namely 0.200% and 0.210%, organic C content obtained results of 0.970% and 0.630%, N content using the KJehldahl method was 0.150% and 0.090%, and CEC obtained results of 14.330 me/100 and 10.090 me/100 g. Related species of Bacillus contained in the soil were Gram-positive, rod-shaped, spore-forming, aerobic or facultative anaerobic, motile bacteria with peritrichous flagella.

Abstract

Using aspirin for long time make ulcer. Using traditional medicinal plants is alternative in treating gastric ulcers. This experiment aims to determine effect of kenikir leaves extract (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) on gastric morphology and histology decription of male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced by aspirin. 25 rats were divided into 5 groups, KN (control), KP (aspirin 200 mg/kgBW for 10 days), P1 (aspirin 200 mg/kgBW for 10 days + kenikir leaves extract 700 mg/kgBW for 14 days). ), P2 (aspirin 200 mg/kgBW for 10 days + kenikir leaves extract 800 mg/kgBW for 14 days), P3(aspirin 200 mg/kgBW for 10 days+kenikir leaves extract 900 mg/kgBW for 14 days). Parameters observed were morphological and histological of the gastric. Data were analyzed by oneway ANOVA test and continued with Duncan's test. The results kenikir leaves did not have a significant effect on the morphology but histologically, kenikir leaves extract had a significant effect by improving the thickness of gastric layer. It can be concluded that kenikir leaves extract can be used as an alternative to treat gastric ulcers because it can improve the thickness of gastric layer.

Abstract

Penggunaan minyak goreng secara berulang akan menyebabkan kerusakan pada minyak dan menimbulkan radikal bebas yang berbahaya bagi kesehatan tubuh salah satunya yaitu profil lipid. Salah satu senyawa yang dapat menangkal radikal bebas yang disebabkan oleh minyak jelantah yaitu antioksidan. Tanaman yang memiliki kandungan antioksidan tinggi salah satunya yaitu asam jawa (Tamarindus indica L.). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat pengaruh ekstrak etanol daun asam jawa (Tamarindus indica L.) terhadap kadar kolestrol total, LDL, HDL dan trigliserida tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 25 ekor tikus dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan, Kontrol Negatif: CMC 0,1% 1 ml,  Kontrol Positif: minyak jelantah 1,5 ml + CMC 0,1% 1 ml, Perlakuan 1: minyak jelantah 1,5 ml + ekstrak etanol daun asam jawa 1 ml dosis 150 mg/kgBB, Perlakuan 2: minyak jelantah 1,5 ml + ekstrak etanol daun asam jawa 1 ml dosis 200 mg/kgBB, Perlakuan 3: (minyak jelantah 1,5 ml + ekstrak etanol daun asam jawa 1 ml dosis 250 mg/kgBB. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini meliputi skrining fitokimia dengan hasil uji flavonoid, trepenoid, steroid dan tanin positif, uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan hasil 61,99 ppm, uji flavonoid total dengan hasil 5,4842 mgQE/g, uji minyak jelantah dengan hasil kadar air 0,0698%, asam lemak bebas 0,1912%, bilangan peroksida 16,99 meq O2/kg, pemeriksaan kadar kolestrol total, LDL, HDL dan trigliserida tikus putih. Analisis data menggunakan uji one way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu daun asam jawa mampu menurunkan kadar kolestrol total, LDL, trigliserida dan meningkatkan kadar HDL dengan nilai p=0,000. Dosis yang paling berpengaruh yaitu 250 mg/kgBB dengan nilai rata-rata kolestrol total (60.60±4.27), LDL (24.60±1.94), HDL (36.00±2.34) dan trigliserida (161.80±5.11)

Abstract

Tartrazin atau yang dikenal dengan FD Yellow 5/ E102 merupakan pewarna kuning lemon sintetis. Penggunaan tartrazin yang mencapai batas toksik dapat menyebabkan stres oksidatif salah satunya terhadap profil darah. Efek yang disebabkan dari penggunaan tartrazin dapat diatasi dengan memanfaatkan tumbuhan herbal sebagai terapi obat. Salah satunya buah andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak buah andaliman terhadap jumlah eritrosit, hemoglobin, leukosit dan trombosit tikus putih yang diinduksi tartrazin. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 25 ekor tikus dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan. Kontrol negatif diberi CMC 1% selama 30 hari, kontrol positif diberi tartrazin dengan dosis 15 mg/kgBB di pagi hari dan CMC 1% di sore hari selama 30 hari, kelompok perlakuan 1, 2, 3 diberi tartrazin dengan dosis 15 mg/kgBB pada pagi hari dan ekstrak etanol buah andaliman dengan dosis bertingkat (P1=150 mg/kgBB, P2=300 mg/kgBB, P3=450 mg/kg BB) pada sore hari selama 30 hari. Tahapan penelitian ini meliputi skrining fitokimia, uji flvonoid total, uji kadar total antioksidan (IC50), pengamatan jumlah eritrosit, hemoglobin, leukosit dan trombosit menggunakan hematology analyzer. Analisis data menggunakan one way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji duncan. Hasil yang didapatkan diantaranya ekstrak etanol buah andaliman berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap eritrosit, hemoglobin, leukosit dan trombosit dengan nilai P=0,000 dan rata-rata nilai eritrosit (6.82 µl), hemoglobin (9.00 g/dl), leukosit (11.34 µl), trombosit (434.00 mm3). Dosis ekstrak buah andaliman yang optimal untuk menangkal dan memperbaiki jumlah eritrosit, hemoglobin, leukosit dan trombosit adalah dosis 450 mg/kg BB.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the feasibility, practicality and effectiveness of vertebrate materials containing higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The type of research is research and development or R&D. This study uses a 4D model which consists of 4 stages: Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The location of the research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Seisuka. Data collection techniques used interviews, as well as questionnaires and pretest-posttest tests. The research instrument was in the form of a questionnaire which included 3 types, namely the media expert questionnaire, the module expert questionnaire and the student and teacher participant questionnaire. Information analysis method that is using quantitative and qualitative. In conclusion, the suitability of the material according to type is very feasible with an average score of 83% and 93%. The practicality of the material meets the very instant criteria with an average value of 93% and 90%. The material was seen from the results of the pre-test and post-test in measuring student learning activities, which were reassessed with an average N-Gain value of 0.7. On the other hand, this material was considered quite efficient in improving student learning outcomes, tested with an average score 71%.

Abstract

The reason for this exploration is to find out how results are impacted by utilizing the Disclosure Picking up learning model. Understudies in class VIII at SMP Negeri 17 Medan. The expression "quantitative exploration" alludes to concentrates on that current information in mathematical structure and utilize factual examination. By administering tests to determine the learning outcomes of students, information collection is completed. The trial class and the control class were the two classes used by experts. Considering the assessment shows that there are contrasts in student learning results. The typical post-test consequences of the exploratory and control classes uncover understudy learning results. The control class's average post-test score was 56.57, while the experimental class's average post-test score was 82.27. Abstract

This article aims to determine the effect of learning with strategiesBrain Based Learning with the help of snakes and ladders media on student learning outcomes at Al-Ulum Private Middle School Medan. This study uses a Quasi Experiment type of research. The population in this study were students of class VIII. The sample used in this study was class VIII 4 as the experimental class. And VIII 5 as the control class. Each class consists of 29 students. The instrument in this study was a multiple choice test consisting of 30 items. Data analysis of student learning outcomes using the test formulattest, also with the help of SPSS Version 22 data processing. Data analysis of student learning outcomes by calculating the average value obtained shows that the experimental class is higher than the control class. The prerequisite test proves that the data obtained is normally distributed and homogeneous. Test calculation resultsttest Sig value is obtained. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. Testttest experimental class and control class have been obtainedtcount worth 14,855 andttableworth 1,697, so it showstcount > ttable. The conclusion in this study explains that there is an influence on student learning outcomes on the respiratory system material at Al-ulum Private Middle School, after implementing the learning strategyBrain Based Learning by means of snakes and ladders.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu penyebab  penyakit bagi peternak adalah  yang diakibatkan oleh telur cacing parasit. Telur cacing menyerang jaringan lambung ternak sapi dan cacing dapat juga tumbuh pada jaringan lain misalnya paru-paru, hati, otak dan limpa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menegetahui berbagai macam jenis-jenis telur cacing parasit, tingkat serangan telur cacing parasit, tingkat prevalensi, tingkat intensitas parasit pada feses sapi di Desa Klambir V Kecamatan Hamparan Perak kabupaten Deli Serdang Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Sampel feses sapi yang digunakan berjumlah 80 sampel. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak dan feses yang diambil sebanyak ± 10 gram setiap ekor sapi. Metode identifikasi dengan menggunakan metode sedimentasi dan Mc Master. Menghitung analisis data menggunakan rumus prevalensi dan intensitas serangan parasit. Hasil penelitian jenis telur cacing yang ditemukan Haemonchus contortus, Echinostoma sp., Paramphistomum sp. Fasciola sp. Tingkat serangan parasit telur cacing  yang paling tinggi dilihat pada telur cacing parasit Paramphistomum sp. sebanyak 1.207 butir/gram memiliki kategori ringan. Tingkat prevalensi pada pola ekstensif Haemonchus contortus 30%, Echinostoma sp. 15%, Paramphistomum sp. 100%, Fasciola sp. 100% sedangkan pada pola Pemeliharaan intensif yaitu Haemochus contortus 22,5%, Echinostoma sp. 7,5%, Paramphistomum sp. 100% dan Fasciola sp. 100%. Tingkat intensitas serangan telur cacing tertinggi terdapat pada Paramphistomum sp. yaitu sebesar 30,17 kategori sedang, sedangkan nilai terendah telur cacing Echinostoma sp. yaitu 1,3 dengan kategori sedang. Kesimpulannya adalah Sapi yang dipelihara secara pola ekstensif memiliki resiko serangan parasit yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan secara pola intensif. Kata kunci : Sapi, Feses, Telur cacing parasit

Abstract

This study aims to determine the suitability of the content of biology textbooks for class XI SMA to the curriculum 2013. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach and uses content/document analysis methods. The subject of this research is a biology textbook for class XI high school with cell material consisting of 3 books to be analyzed by researchers, namely the book publisher Bumi Aksara, the book publisher Erlangga, and the book publisher Grafindo Media Pratama. The research instrument used was an analysis sheet of student books based on the Curriculum 2013 Implementation Assistance Activity Guidelines. The results showed that the level of conformity of the content of biology textbooks based on: (1) SKL aspects in books A and B was 93% (very appropriate), and book C was 87% (very suitable). (2) Aspects of Core Competence for book A are 92% (very suitable), and books B and C are 83% (appropriate). (3) Aspects of Basic Competence for Book A 96% (very suitable), book B 85% (very suitable), book C 89% (very suitable). (4) Aspects of Sufficiency of Material for book A 67% (appropriate), books B and C for 50% (not appropriate). (5) Aspect of Material Depth of Book A 75% (appropriate), book B 68% (appropriate), and Book C 71% (appropriate). (6) Aspects of the Scientific Approach of books A, B, and C by 100% (very appropriate). (7) The authentic assessment aspect of Book A is 57% (quite appropriate), book B is 54% (not suitable) and C is 59% (quite appropriate). The average agreement coefficient of the three books is 0.94% (very good). The data illustrates that the three books can be recommended by the 2013 curriculum formulation. Kata kunci: Analisis Kesesuaian Konten, Buku Teks Biologi, Kurikulum 2013
