Abstract

Abstract The cultural phenomenon of extracting the essence of sugar palms at Simalanggang Limapuluh Kota could not be separated from daily life of socienty at Simalanggang. The phenomenon referred to astructural sistem wich reflected the people’s way of thinking since it was created and developed by people themselves. This cultural was actually created in order to fulfill their needs. The cultural phenomenon was then tranferred into an idea of makin komposition about how people conducted the cultural of extracting the essence of sugar palm. However, it was not the process extracting that was tranferred. It was values of togetherness, considerateness, cooperation, and appreciation that were described into sounds. Fundamentally, it was assumed that traditional and western music colud ideally elaborate the values within the cultural phenomeonon. Kata Kunci : Air niro, Kebudayaan, Toleransi, Gotong Royong

Abstract

The research problem is motivated by the existence of teachers’ activities in implementing 2013 Curriculum, especially in the form of implementing curricular activities (learning and non-learning) during Covid-19 pandemic. This is due to the fact that even though the teachers do not teach students face to face, curricular activities at school must be conducted both in the form of online learning and other non-learning activities. This study aims to explain various non-face-to-face curricular activities which can be conducted by music teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Muaro Bungo Jambi during the Covid-19 Pandemic.This is a qualitative research using descriptive analysis approach. The research object was music teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Muaro Bungo Jambi. The research instruments were observation, interview, and documentation study. The results explain that since the government has implemented health protocol rules to prevent Covid-19 transmission in schools, the music teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Muaro Bungo Jambi continue to carry out non-face-to-face curricular activities. The learning activities carried out online by teachers. In addition, the teachers conduct other non-learning curricular activities such as adjusting semester programs, reconstructing lesson plans, simplifying subject matters, making video tutorials for teaching preparation, and so on.

Abstract

Abstract The idea in this artwork was started from the expression of feeling which is channeled into expression. Then, this expression was expressed into musical compositions that is interpreted in tones of melody, harmony, and rhythm that is composed into musical expression of feeling. This artwork was created by implementing some artwork methodologies; they were exploration, document analysis, experiment, and formation phase. This musical composition was also done in 3 parts of composition, namely Part A, Part B, and Part C. The Part A shows a calm expression in happiness. Then, Part B brings “conflicts or problems" atmosphere expressed in grief, worry, full of anger emotion. In Part C the music is composed as the expression of the spirit that was so tempestuous. Music can be expressed by an artist or any one through various media, such as voice in song, musical instrument in the instrumentalia, or voice and musical instruments in the vocal-instrumental. Meanwhile, the actualization or the expression of ideas in a musical artwork can be expressed in a musical composition. Kata kunci: Ekspresi, Tahap, Komposisi

Abstract

This study aims to describe Paul Desmond's Take Five music composition analysis. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with the main instrument in this study is part music in the form of song parts. The researcher processed the data with steps such as reading the scores from the take five material itself, then classifying the data from understanding music theory to the material itself, from the structural aspect of music to melody, rhythm and interval, so that the researcher can make a summary of the data. which was found in the form of writing describing the understanding of music theory, Then, the researcher conducted a feasibility test on the song with the aim that the song analyzed could be used as learning material for students who studied standard jazz material and as eligibility to be used as basic knowledge about music jazz.The results showed that the work of Take five is unique in terms of odd time signatures using simple melody, riem and intervals, which form a song 2 parts A, B with sentences A (a, a ') B (b, b') and A (a, a ') take five can be accepted as a standard jazz learning reference for the alto saxophone instrument. The assessment is obtained from simple melody, rhythm and interval analysis so that it can be used or can be used as a reference for learning standard jazz for students taking the major saxophone instrument course.

Abstract

The tradition of talempong music has been hereditary into a part of the Minangkabau social life. In its journey, traditional art has been in contact with the sharing of symptoms that develop in the life of a dynamic society, based on it, there also emerged the genre of talempong creation in the Minangkabau region. Puti Tunggastudioplays talempong with the type of talempong duduak (diatonic). The form of the talempong duduak performance is usually combined with several modern instruments such as electric guitar, sexophone, drums and also other traditional Minangkabau musical instruments. The purpose of this study is to analyze the development of talempong duduak music at Puti Tungga Studio in Dharmasraya Regency. Type of this research was qualitative with using a descriptive analysis approach. The object of this research was Talempong in the Pulau Punjung sub-district, Dharmasraya Regency. Techniques of data collection were done by using library studies, observations, interviews and documentation. Efforts that are done by Puti Tungga Studio for the development of the Talempong Duduak are such as gathering members, training in a week and being active in the appearance of the Talempong Duduak in Dharmasraya. There are several obstacles found by Puti Tungga Studio in developing the Talempong Duduak , such as the players who often change because of their busy activities, the higher flow of modern music and the high interest of the society towards modern music. The development and preservation of the Talempong Duduak musical instrument currently needs to be done by socializing to the wider society, especially the younger generation through the Department of Education by incorporating traditional art knowledge both in theory and practice into the curriculum through elementary school to senior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe how the implementation of face-to-face and online learning in the subjects of cultural arts music material class VIII at SMP Negeri 9 Pariaman during the covid-19 pandemic. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods of analysis. This research instrument is the researcher himself and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and mobile phones. Data collection techniques using interviews, library studies and documentation. The data types in this study are primary and secondary data. The steps of analyzing data are collecting data, identifying data, classifying data, describing data and concluding data. The results showed that the implementation of art learning music culture face-to-face and online with material singing traditional songs in class VIII. I SMP Negeri 9 Pariaman is less than maximum. In the implementation of time-limited face-to-face learning, teachers cannot optimally manage classroom learning, and cannot practice this material directly in front of students.  And the evaluation conducted by the teacher does not pay attention to whether the techniques and singing styles that students practice are correct or not. The media that teachers use in teaching in addition to using cultural art print books, teachers also use the Smart Learning application because this application does not use a lot of internet quota or does not have to use a good mobile network.

Abstract

The purpose of music Researchis to know about study recorder in SMPN 3 X Koto Singkarak, this type of research is qualitative research, that have done 9  times. The subjects of this research are class VIII A is pre-eminent class. From this research can conclude that study recorder is still not implemented yet. The teacher also not adabt the students ability with assign that has been given by the teacher, we can see from student mark on class VIII A are really unsatisfied. Abstract

Abstract This article aimed to reveal the impact of the application of the learning method of modelling the learning results of students on basic competencies to playing traditional musical instruments in groups and in class VIII 5 SMP Negeri 10 Padang. This research used Classroom Action Research. The object of research was the students of class VIII5 who studied the arts and culture lessons. This classroom action research was done through 2 cycles; they were cycle 1 and cycle 2. Data collection in this research data used some techniques that were observation and test result learn. The data processing procedures were done by data selection and percentage of data. The results showed that the application of modeling learning method on the subject of art and culture (music) could improve student learning outcomes. This was in accordance with student learning outcomes in pre-cycle; cycle 1 and cycle 2 were increased. The use of modeling learning methods could improve student learning outcomes in the subjects of art and culture (music) in class VIII 5 SMP Negeri 10 Padang. Abstract

This study aims to reveal themelodicainstructionusing online learning system in grade VII of SMP Negeri 31 Padang.The stages include planning, implementation, and evaluation in the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The theory used to observethe activity is learning and instruction theory. The research used qualitative method with a descriptive analytic approach. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature study. The data analysis was carried out through identification, classification, clarification, analysis, explanation, and conclusion. The results show that the learning of Culture and Arts at SMP Negeri 31 Padang is still carried out but it is conducted online at home.Related to these learning situations and conditions, the teachers designlearning which is relatively different from face-to-face learning in class. The planning that the teachers dois preparing learning materials and send them to students via WA. It contains messages, subject matter, activities carried out, and obligations which must be fulfilled by students. The learning implementation includes controlling students’ learning by asking students to send a video of blowing, fingering, and practicing the song Ibu Kita Kartini which is sent in the form of a video recording. Almost all students do the video recordings and sent them on time. However,a small number of studentsdo not send the video recordings on time. This is the evaluation and barriers to learning melodica online. The learning outcomes ofgrade VII students at SMP Negeri 31 Padang are good. The obstacles faced by the teachers include the presentation, practice, and learning outcomeswhich are very inadequate.

Abstract

AbstractThis article aims to describe the learning process of the local folk songs arrangement in senior high school number 3 Solok. The study was descriptive by using qualitative approach. As for the implementation of learning process of local folk songs arrangements can be explained as follows: at the first meeting, the teacher explained material about local folk songs arrangements ranging from definition of arrangement, how to arrange, and elements in a song. At the second meeting, the teacher demonstrated the song Mudiak Arau as material on learning process, students were required to be able to sing because before arranging the students must know the songs that will be arranged. At the next meeting, the teacher grouped the students to give task. Then, at the last meeting, the students were asked to write and sing the results from each group. The results of this research were, the learning of art and culture subject especially material in the music arts at senior high school number 3  Solok ran well. The learning of local folk song arrangement at that school was implemented by using lecturing and group discussion method. On each group of students, they have a form of arrangement with a different intro to each group by writing the notation numbers. It can be concluded that the learners have understood enough toward the arrangement of local folk song material enough  and it was revealed by the tasks given by the teacher, also students were able to do the tasks well. Keywords: Arts and culture, Music Arts, Arrangement
